  • Wondering how to write intros and conclusions for essays? In this video, you'll learn (with examples!) how to write an academic essay introduction working backwards from your thesis statement. You'll write a hook, extension, and link as a way to build-up to your thesis at the end of your introduction paragraph. This will capture the reader's attention and set-up your argument or analysis essay.
You'll also be reminded of how to write a conclusion paragraph extends from the thesis, comes full-circle back to your introduction and hook (but with a twist), and broaden your reader's understanding by considering why this idea matters, a.k.a. the "so what." What is revealed about human nature or society?
