Freddie, looking at The Wurks videos, I do hope you will be seeking reimbursement from Kingdom Motorcycles. They have committed all manner legal and moral codes not to mention ripping you off financially. They clearly did not do the work necessary, or replace most of the parts you were charged for. Apologies for the negativity but I’ve just experienced a similar set of circumstances. Seeing The Wurks video ( ie. how it should be done) it’s opened old wounds. These people need naming and shaming to make them think twice before they repeat their sins. A collaboration with the black best barrister would make good viewing. Looking forward to further progress on the Bonnie. I have sufficient mechanical knowledge to be sure you will be getting a better reborn version back for The Wurks, what a fine chap he is👍👍

6th February 2024 and I just went back to rewatch this after seeing Jo on the Wurks channel diagnosing the cam timing issues and the loose spark plug etc. Oh, dear. Freddie, you must really document all these problems and seek redress from who ever did such shoddy work. I know you would have happily paid £5000 to get your bike back but, man, someone saw you coming

Freddie after 54 years of riding I've found the secret for motorcycle longevity regardless of brand (excluding KTM) is regular maintenance, replacing wear items before they break, and keeping the bikes clean.
Having good brand longevity DNA is helpful but doesn't cover up for poor maintenance. I have seen many brand models with generally poor reputations that go on forever when lovely looked after.

Congrats on getting the Bonnie back. I had a Silver Jimny Sz5 from new in 2020 up until last year covering 12k miles... until the lure of getting £7k more than I paid for it (from we buy any car) was too much and I sold up. I absolutely loved the Jimny. Full of character, super cool retro looks, received plenty of attention and always put a smile on my face whether I was driving it or simply looking at it on the drive. Driving wise it wasn't so great, short trips were fine, but limited practically so I always had the rear seats down for extra load space. Access to the rear couldn't have been easier to load and unload. 4 wheel drive through deep snow in the Highlands it was unstoppable. Side winds were scary shoving the car about and a little wallowy on the corners. On longer drives come the downsides, plenty of in cabin noise and the gear box really needs another gear as it felt strained even at 70! I suppose what's to be expected when driving a car with the aerodynamic properties of a brick 😂. I can forgive all this though and whenever I see one now I just wish I hadn't sold it.

If you ever fancy a bike trip there I’m sure my son would be happy to assist, he has done numerous bike rides out into the wilds, he even wrote about a trip he did which was published in a biker magazine. The Bonnie looks amazing now it is clean and back up and running.

Freddie, I feel with you so much! My bike broke down at the end of February due to a defective ECU and thanks to the mechanic's incompetence I just got it back two weeks ago. Missed the entire riding season and paid 1250 € for the repair, but the excitement of being able to ride again is so soothing. And I'll even be able go on a short trip with my girlfriend next week.

Fantastic to have the Bonnie back; there's something special about having your own bike back. I used to have a Suzuki Vstrom 650, 2010 K9, and it was a brilliant bike. Sadly it was written off when I was rear-ended, but I did get it back after a month of riding an MT09 Tracer. The Tracer was a beast, far faster and more exciting and on paper more competent all round, but the elation of getting MY Vstrom back was unparalleled.
That said, as a viewer it's been a lovely 120 days of not having to hear that exhaust rattle so perhaps you can round that repair bill off to a nice thousand and get a new silencer too haha 😉

This model looks like the old legendary SUV Mercedes "G"- model but shrinked to a baby doll size, It´s so cuddly and cute to ring all bells of mothers instincts she simply can not resist.
But I am also truly impressed by the perfect to scale down sized dimensions of the "G -model" without losing this special bold look,

Many moons ago, I owned a 1988.5 Suzuki Samuria. It was a rag top, full frame, 1.3 litre engine. Had it for 12 years. It had the number 3 cylinder break a piston at the oil ring at 140,000 miles. I gave it my bother inlaw, and he replaced the piston, had a valve job done, and it is still running today with over 200k on the clock. It is a little rusty, but still going. 😎

Stuck up to it's axles and unable to move, I backed a 1979 Internationational Scout up to it, attached chains to a good point in it's front end and pulled it out. I also love how much Monika shares your enthusiasm.
Now… any chance you will finally replace that exhaust? :-)
    Enjoy your “new” Bonnie!

Hi Fred, when u read the bill out the last thing you mentioned the head as I was thinking what’s been done about the plug thread -phew. Keep one of those gaskets as someone will be able to make another with a cnc using that as a pilot. Let’s hope she’s a good girl now, I think you got off light with the price well done kingdom. I can tell you suzuki cars are fantastically reliable. I’ve had a few as have my daughters. Mot the Jimney but not for long motorways unless you want to travel at 60…think you should spoil Monica though

I can relate so much with the feeling you have when you wait 3 months + to ride your motorcycle.
2 weeks ago the mechanic called that the bike is ready, it was since July it was sitting broken after a change of spark plugs went wrong 😂. I couldn't believe I could ride it again.
Funny part, I got used to riding the loud AF ninja 250R of my brother, and didn't realize how old my kawasaki kle 500 is. Shakes like a wet towel, you need to open the choke every time you want to start it because it is carbureted, smells gasolione every time you start it, doesn't brake at all, suspension is like the 60s Cadillac landyacht. But has so much character and a natural ABS all the time, and can deal with any hole in the Road

So pleased for you. Please keep the legal number plate on it. The aluminium one looks a little 'low rent'.

Hey Freddie and Monika. Great to see the Bonneville back home, even though an entire summer of riding was lost. Hopefully you will never again need a head gasket. Cheers, and ride safe. Dan ✌️🏍🇨🇦

I'm glad to see you have your bike back - at last! I think Triumph should be, in this case, ashamed of their useless part availability. On a brighter note, the Suzuki Jimny looks like a brilliant vehicle. I had a Suzuki Carry van, bought in 2003 for £5,500, which I owned for 16 years. It was the best van I ever owned: It was nippy: Reliable: Turned on a sixpence: Could fit into parking spaces other vehicles wouldn't even attempt. Suzuki stopped making those too so, when I retired, I could have sold it several times over. Dealers clearly know how good the Jimny is, and I think they're probably worth even those prices.

Freddie, you deserve full marks for your persistance getting your bonnie fixed. I think you were a bit emotional about its return to you 🥲 and that's good too. What made this video for me was your description of modern vehicles being bloated. I loved that decription as it hits the nail on the head.
