  • Today I am unboxing Metabo HPT's 36V Mulitvolt 7-1/4'' rear handle circular saw. This saw packs a lot of great features into what is currently the lightest weight saw on the market. Check out the video and let me know if you think Metabo HPT's saw is a top tier contender!

I’m with you on really liking Metabo HPT. Just picked the saw up a few weeks ago. I got the toolbarn deal with the battery kit, rear handle circ, and the beast of a recip saw for $220. My favorite deal so far this year. If HPT keeps expanding the line, they’ll be my #1 brand for sure. In General I’m not loyal to any brand (in m12, m18, HPT, dewalt 12v, and some more), and grab whatever I can get on killer deals, but over time I find myself mostly using the HPT

Nice deal! I am a little like you, I try to buy the best tool regardless of the brand (to some extent). I figure I would rather deal with a couple extra chargers to get a tool that fits me and my needs best. And Metabo HPT seems to have a lot of tools that fit me well. 😁👍🏻

We now have 3 of these cuz the crew was fighting over the 2 we had that surplanted our old favorite Makita rear handle and a Milwaukee we only really use for rough demo and a DeWalt Flexvolt we use on a Prazi Beam.saw
The Metabo HPT has lots of power but it's wight is awesome and we are using it in applications we normally grabbed a lighter 6 1/2 or sidewinder for in the past

Totally makes sense. That Dewalt saw has crazy power and using it with a Prazi makes perfect sense. I really like the feel of the Makita saws, and the Metabo HPT feels really similar and is lighter. So it is two thumbs up for me. 👍🏻

So people understand their is no onboard storage but if you have 36 volt triple hammer impact or their 36volt hammer drill the hard case has a slot in the top left for tool wrenches the bottom right corner will fit the trim router perfect there is a empty slot that fits a larger 36 volt battery perfectly they kinda expected us to like there tools so much to own more than one of them

I keep it in my tool belt-only change blades less frequently as we use this for straight framing and not demo much and blade last much longer

Thanks for sharing that, I was unaware of those features in the hard cases. Great that Metabo HPT had those features in mind. I am not too concerned about the onboard storage as I will end up storing the wrench with my extra blades. But I wanted to mention it because I know for some people they really like it on the saw. 👍🏻

Seems like a good spot if you have the room. 👍🏻

Awesome video! Looking into getting that saw myself. How does it cut now that you have had a chance to test it out more?

Cuts really smooth, lots of power and the brake is great. I would 100% recommend it. No complaints with it yet. 👍🏻
