@@heartbeatrowboat4839 use the adapter which came along with your firestick. Don't use any other cable/adapter that is overheating the firestick.
I have the adapter for my Firestick and cant get it to give me a screen other than static. SO Should BOTH the adapter AND the Firestick be going to a power source? And should the setting on the side be set to PAL or NTSC? I live in the US.
WE HAVE THE SAME TV! I run a retro gaming channel and I've done some similar videos. I'm thinking of buying this to replace my VGA to RCA I'm using for my PC. Anyway. The vga to rca device lets me change the aspect ratio, so letterbox video and weird stuff can be adjusted.
See what's actually happening is that the HDMI to AV converter squishes the image. So National Treasure is still being squished, but because National Treasure is 2.39:1, it looks like it's being displayed at 16:9, but is still squished. However, Nightmare Before Christmas is 16:9 so it gets squished to 4:3. I don't mean to be like a know it all but I didn't see any comment explaining this.

So it outputting anamorphic wide-screen so everything is squished, including National Treasure which is 2.35:1 so that would still have black bars on a 16X9 TV. It would be nice if it had a switch that could switch between Anamorphic widescreen, Lettetbox widescreen, and cropping it to 4:3.
I want to be able to play my old games like Nintendo, Sega & etc after that on the same fire tv. Any advice on what to get because it doesn’t take the color cords?

You should try a Roku Stick...it lets you choose Standard Definition to be 4:3 or 16:9....don't remember if it also does it for 720 and 1080...the really nice thing is that you Fire Stick seems to be in at least 720 and projected onto an SD tv to fir that screen....giving you a clearer picture than if it was just shrank to 480p.....also...maybe the convertor has a switch or software setting that lets you fix the aspect ratio? I especially do not like that movies also have black borders on the sides....it means its not even overscanned

Looking at your Diza mini I see the three red, white, Yello cable, and ask what is on the other end of the RCA cable that you have it plugged into where on back of your tv.? I have 2007 Magnavox with the VCR and DVD built it that is not used think broke but I hooked the RCA cables in front of my tv where red, white Yello video hooks up. I want to hook up fiestick to this tv. Back of tv only one coastal hole. Please, advise. What channel do I turn tv to?
Diane, I'm flipping to Video 2 for the Firestick. That's the channel, so to speak on this set. In the back of the set, I'm plugging into the corresponding AV ports.
I see that star wars special edition box set for VHS what a true relic I hope it can stand the tests of time so in 3022 they find it and know we had reached peak entertainment long before their time.
Got the same hdmi2av adaptor like yours,ideal to hookup your nes & snes classic mini to your old crt tv and play those games as intended.
Or hook it up with the snesNT to an old tv to be able to play yoshi safari or leathal enforcers using the super scope or justifier.
Or how about the new 2018 revision of C64 sothat you may be able to use the lightpen trough firmware update.
In short theres lots of potential with this fantastic adaptor.

I guess that depends of the device you're adapting. The Firestick as no independent volume control. Volume control is all done through the television. Other devices may differ. I'm only familiar with the Firestick ATM.

Marcela, I'm not sure. What kind of projector? Did you want to adapt a Firestick to the projector so it can display Amazon video, etc. on the wall? If so, and it's an older projector - pre HDMI, I would think it should work if the projector has RGB inputs.
Is there a way to turn up the brightness of these HDMI2AV converters for recording purposes?
I'm not aware of any sort of control like this.
I have one myself and it works great with my ToshibaTheaterview 50 inch Rear Projection TV which has only composite connections. Another way for it to last long is that I put a ice pack inside a ziplock bag and place it underneath the converter to keep it from over heating.

+dunk Ishak I believe Chromecast is a thumb device similar to the Amazon Firestick and requires HDMI (as you noted). If this is true, then yes, this hookup should work for Chromecast if you're using an older CRT television (Like the one I have set up in this video). YMMV. There's no need for any other converter box, just the HDMI to AVI converter shown in this video.:)
The other black box is my converter box for broadcast T.V. It allows me to receive and convert over the air broadcast signals allowing me to play ABC, CBS, NBC, CW, and PBS (and local broadcasts and thier sub-channels) on my older CRT television. Mark Szorady will it work on my 65 inch mitsubishi projection tv? It's high definition but it doesn't have HDMI and would love it if I could use the firestick on it.
If your Mitsubisi is HD, I'd look for an HDMI port first. You may want to google a manual and get specs online. If no HDMI, as long as you have RGB RCA inputs, you should be good to go.:)

I have purchased a under the counter dvd player that has no connections except for a coaxial cable. All I want to hook to it is a firestick. Can I just hook my firestick to a little white box and then run a coaxial cable from this box to the player?

The converter needs to be HDMI to AV. Yours (AV2HDMI) is backwards for your needs

In theory, my guess is, similar HDMI devices should work. Will your HDMI device work? Unfortunately, I cannot say for sure. The only way to know is to buy and try.

Does it work the other way around where you can convert Av to hdmi? Ive seen these om ebay and whenever i put "Hdmi to av" and "Av to Hdmi" on ebay they always show me this same product

The Firestick does not need a converter at all. Just make sure you've selected the correct video input on your T.V. You may be on Video 1 when the connections are actually on Video 2.
A digital converter is only needed when an older CRT is using an antenna for reception. Free T.V. now broadcasts a digital signal. Older analog T.V.s require a converter box to translate the signal from digital to analog. I did a video on this at: ruclips.net/video/DfhCIiAJd1Q/видео.html

I'm not sure which device you are referring to. The Amazon Firestick comes with a power adapter (but can also be powered by plugging into USB). The HDMI to AV converter discussed in this video did not come with a power supply. it just came with a USB cable. As an easy work-a-round, I used a power strip that had USB outlets so I could power the converter.

A flat TV? You may just have an HDMI port in the back. Check first. Look for something labeled HDMI.
How the quality of this device? Is ti still working? I know many of these boxes have poor quality
Quality is fine and it still works.:) However, I make sure to unplug power source after each use.

They plug into the corresponding jacks in the back of the TV.

Whatever you have on your Firestick plays including Kodi. All you're doing is using an alternate means to feed it into an old CRT television. Not sure about the power adapter. I simply use a power strip with universal USB ports. HTH.:)

No. The converter box is for converting digital broadcast signals to analog for the older CRT television.:) The HDMI converter allows you to plug in an HDMI Firestick, then convert this signal to be input into the RCA jacks in the back of the older TV. You could run the Firestick on an older TV without ever having a converter box. But, as you can see in the video, I have both. so when I'm not watching broadcast TV, I'm streaming from the Firestick and vice-versa.:)

Check to see if the audio input is plugged into the wrong input. You may have video inputs in Video , but audio input in video 2. Just check to make sure all three inputs are plugged into Video 1 (or Video 2) completely.

Im trying to run a firestick through my dlp projector. i watch movies on a projector with the dvd player already. So I have a firestick plugged into a dvd player with an hdmi port.. But not working. Would something like this work? Any ideas?
Not entirely sure. I'm not familiar with the DLP projector in question. Does it already have an hDMI input? if so, then this device is not needed. if not, dos it have RGB inputs?

I'm not entirely acquainted with a PS4. However, I'd imagine the graphics are going to be dependent on the television screen being used. Regarding overheating, I've always unplugged after use and when not in use.

You need the converter box for Over the Air Broadcast (OTA) signals. Television now broadcasts digital signals only. Old CRTs are analog. So, the converter box is needed to convert the digital signal (from an antenna) to analog.
Hi Mark, (IF YOU CAN HELP TELL ME)I have a question. I bought an HDMI to AV for my Fire Stick, but when I first turn the tv on and then the Fire Stick. What happens is the screen at first is Black then I see the Fire Stick Start screen but the picture rolls. So, I screw around with the HDMI converter and most of the time it takes about 10 minutes of plugging it in, out, changing the switch on the converter then it works. If I turn it off for a second I have to go through the whole process again. Now, my FS is the 2nd generation one could that be it? Any help would be helpful. KGC

I'm not sure. To conserve energy, I unplug all my electronics after each use especially those with wall warts (power adapters).

Angel Rios. If I recall correctly (can't lol behind my setup ATM), after you get the Firestick hooked up per the video, your home audio system is then hooked up as audio in from Firestick, audio out from TV to theater audio system.

I have a Jayco camper, I power up my 24" LG tv via DC, but if we have full hookups I obviously power it by AC. What im trying to accomplish really is being able to use the tv dvd player on the exterior of the camper. I have a built in coaxial under the exterior tv mount. im trying to figure out how to do it? I'm not entirely sure. I've never seen a car with RCA In. I suppose so...if it's the same as it is on the back of on older T.V. But, I'm just surmising... this is a BIG guess on my part. I really cannot say for certain.

Not sure. Does the PlayStation 2 have HDMI? Does it have RGB plugs? If so for either, then you wouldn't need the converter.

I'm not familiar with the ChannelMaster device. Hower, if it relies on HDMI, then PERHAPS it may work just as it does for the Firestick. Only a guess on my part.
+Mark Szorady This is a product that receives over the air antenna and can record on a Harddrive , it only has Hdmi out and my tv only has rca or coax in. Also, just was looking on Amazon for this product, and it's no longer available , know any substitutions.
Based on what you've said, and again, this is just a guess, if the CM DVR+ is HDMI out, then you need an HDMI cable to go OUT from the CM then IN to the adapter. Th from the adapter's OUT RCA cables to IN on your TV's RCA inputs. That's how I figure it. The adapter has to be HDMI IN. The one in this video is exactly this. HDMI IN. Then the output is converted to RCA OUT. Does this make sense?

I got an RCA capture card and figured I'd rather convert the HDMI signal to RCA to capture instead of buying an expensive HDMI capture card. Thanks for showing video of hdmi being capable of being converted to RCA. :D

For some reason, Amazon Fire Stick is not compatible with large screen projector TVs that have HDMI ports. I’ve tested the HDMI ports on both my Mitsubishi and JVC projector TVs. Other HDMI devices work well on those TVs but the Amazon Fire Stick does not work with those TVs. Unless I use this HDMI to A/V adapter and set the signal to PAL and not NTSC. It’s weird because other NTSC HDMI devices work fine but not the Amazon Fire Stick unless the adapter is used. The picture quality changes too but it still works.

Well, if the DVD recorder uses RCA jacks, then I suppose the hookup would go like this: Hook Firestick to TV (via this adapter), and then hook up DVD recorder to TV. Firestick (and adapter) would use Video one, DVD recorder would use Video 2. This is just a guess on my part.
I purchased this same box and it is not working. The firestick just loads and loads and loads but will not start. I moved it to another tv with hdmi plug and it works fine but when I try using this mini box for older tv it does not.

BERNADETTE H no. The converter box is for converting over the air digital signals from my TV antenna so they can play on this old analog CRT TV. It's separate from the Firestick.

Yes. Inputs on back of TV are marked Red, White and Yellow. You may see more than one set...one for Video 1 and the other for Video 2. Just make sure all three are plugged into the same video input. Sometimes, folks accidentally plug one cable into Video 2 and the other two into video 1 and wonder why there's sound but no picture, etc.

Thsi converter allows you to connect a device with an HDMI plug You plug the HDMI device into the converter, then plug the converter cables into the RCA inputs on the old television.
I'm not familiar with your DVR. Is it HDMI?
What do you mean by video 1 and 2?
Video 1 and video 2 are on the back of the TV. make sure you have all RCA plugs plugged into the correct set of ports.

This device has a port that accepts an HDMI device. It then converts to RCA outputs. If the newest Firestick is an HDMI device, then this converter should accept it.
The Firestick used in this video is 1st generation.

AFAIK, the Firestick is a WiFi only device. It has no other means for connecting to the internet/network other than WiFi.
