This guy really makes me think of MP Soundwave. Very high quality but relatively simple, fun to play with and still very much like a toy. Feel like most modern Masterpieces have totally lost that fun factor. Also i'm really hoping they do Crosscut
Best thing about the original Skids toy was its car mode _including_ car articulation - all the doors and hatches worked! Nice to see that maintained in the MP version. Then again, I would be a bit cross if they skimped on that, indeed I think I just invented a new rule: 'An MP toy should never lack something decent that the original version had.'
I got Reboost, and love the chap. Do struggle getting them arms twisted around just the right way for car mode but I'm sure I'll get over it. I've packed that scooter and little guy away though cos I am definitely breaking them if I don't. Not much of a Masterpiece collector but this guy is just the right side of expensive for me to be into. May have to get that Skids too.
Because the toy Reboost was based on is, like Skids was, originally a Diaclone toy. Diaclone had several robots with that kind of faceplate head design but only a couple were licensed by Hasbro and sold as Transformers.
I think one of the key things that got us an MP Skids is that the Honda City Turbo, Skids's altmode, is one of _the_ classic cars in Japan. It's why his altmode doesn't even try to be cartoon-accurate in favor of just being a model Turbo.
MP-53 is Masterpiece G1 Skids version 1.0, MP-53+ is Masterpiece G1 Crosscut version 1.0 and MP-54 is Masterpiece Diaclone Reboost version 1.0. The MP-53 G1 Skids version 1.0 mold is G1 toy-accurate, but has the G1 cartoon Skids paint scheme. MP-54+ in the future will be G1 toy paint scheme-accurate Skids version 1.0.
It's a bit hard to tell with the clear plastic, but I think the little figure that comes with reboost has the same mold as the Dianauts from the currently ongoing Diaclone revival. If so that would mean it's included as a throwback to Skids' and Reboost's early Diaclone days when they both came with Dianaut pilots.
@@FizzyMcPhysics honestly though the only reason is that I'm just not obligated to make videos a certain length to fulfil the needs of the algorithm and it's very freeing. If I had to make ten minutes long videos I wouldn't do it haha.

When I see repugnys toys on sale I actually stop and consider it thanks to your channel.

Diaclone decos really didn't give a shit about looking like Prime, mostly since battle convoy wasn't as big a deal as Prime would become later

I told myself MP-10 would be my last transformer, but I just got Legacy skids on a whim and now I need MP skids and G1 Skids. He’s so friggin cool.

I think it's just a transparent version of the little Spike figure that's been in a few recent toys.
I've been avoiding recent Masterpieces due to their high price and quality control issues, but this might just be an exception
