His drumming was wayyyyy better than the completely vanilla drummer they got after three cheers. I remember reading the reason they got rid of him was because he was a total alcoholic and the lead singer also had substance abuse issues, which were partially influenced or exacerbated by the drummer.
Okay look you guys it wasnt that Otter was horrible at drumming, it's that he refused to use a metronome click track, and it caused the timings of Bullets to be off. Everyone remembered thanking Ray because he was such a talented guitarist and he was able to keep up with the time changes, but everyone off Eyeball and Nada Studios (the record label and recording studio that Bullets was recorded and released off of) agreed that Otter was a great drummer, just had bad timing. Gerard didn't want to fire him because he was riding a creativity boost from all the emotions let out by 9/11, and because he said drummers were hard to come by, so they would stick with their friend. They kicked Otter out after he started becoming too unpredictable with his drumming onstage during the live performances.
If only he knew business like Lars Ulrich and bought the name then they would’ve stuck with him like Lars in Metallica. Metallica even planned on kicking him out since Dave was in the band but Lars is smart.

probably a part if it but a lot of his drumming can be really noisy. a lot of high end and repetitive parts so probably why the producers hated him
Bullets has some of my favorite drumming in any MCR album. I can’t believe that their producer would think he was a bad drummer.

I'm sorry Matt's drumming bad? Cemetery Drive has some of my favorite drum work in a song ever. Better than anything Bob did that's for sure.
