@@chandyscreations4211 for the most part we ship the same day unless the order comes in on a weekend :)
Are the first 2 designs both petales? Thank you!
I just placed an order. I wanted the first 2 designs. I ordered monochromatic and petales. I'll be happy either way. Such a lovely print!
I love the chickens as much as the butterflies. But I am in South Africa & the rand is so weak.
Hiya what is the paper called? You don't ship to UK. I can't find anything like this x
Have you tried the ironing technique. It virtually comes out perfectly. You apply your glue substance first over top of the dresser and let it dry. Then you place your paper on top of the dry sealer. Put parchment paper over top of the paper and use an iron. Work from the middle and work your way out. It is the way people taught it in the 70s. It is amazing.
I need to try this, thanks for the tip Lisa!
@@DebisDesignDiary My brother and I took craft lessons from this amazing artist from California! We learned all sorts of cool tips from her!
I just tried this method and it works!
WOW, thank you for that tip!
You got your Dad dancing! That's awesome!
I miss your videos like this!
I miss Debis video stories too... She’s a great story teller. But I’m sure they are a lot of work to create.
I do love these. One of the first ever videos I watched on this channel was her creation of the Marilyn dresser. I was completely blown away, and instantly in love. Not just with the dresser, but her creativity, and her authenticity. Debi’s channel is one of RUclips’s grandest gifts to creatives.
I love your makeover videos. I remember the Marilyn Monroe video because I think that's how I found you!
thanks friend!
Love it!! You really did a great job at layering. Designing decoupage paper is so fun, but seeing it used is even better.
thanks Jami, so much fun to use your paper! see you soon!
Love the paper - will we ever be able to get this in UK?
Beautiful...thank you! Tip: When sanding excess paper, sand the paper AWAY ~45° angle, opposite the paper's edge, rather than back-and-forth or across. This will leave a smooth edge without jags.
Using the brush to cut the fabric... ? GENIUS! The dresser is gorgeous.
Wow! The dresser is so beautiful. So glad you tried decoupage again, and the dancing with your dad and Ellie is the sweetest
Don't forget Levi, he was dancing, too. Adorable! 💜
Nice! Oh and so glad to see all of you dancing at the end of the video! Dad too!!! Wow!
Love the dancing at the end. Your dad has the moves! 🕺
Love decoupage! Dresser turned out beautifully🥰 Tip: for a real smooth finish one your paper is dry go back over with parchment paper and iron (high heat no steam) to press out any stubble wrinkles😉
I want to try that! Thanks Cassandra💜
Really great tip Cassandra...I will have to experiment! Thanks !🥰👍
Cassandra can you still do this if you already top coated the decoupage image? I’m inexperienced and I’ve got wrinkles! I know you can do it with just base coat and paper but even after top coat? Thanks lady!
@@lindaleef yes that is what I do. Once you’ve put down your paper then do your top coat(s) and let each dry. Once it’s completely dry lay your parchment paper over it and iron out the stubborn wrinkles😊
@@cassandrasmith5517 you helped me once on Facebook. You are the best! Thank you!
Love it! Very cute! I so hope I will someday be able to come to your shop, meet you and take a class or two! I am in Ky. so would be quite a trip 🙂. I love love love your DIY paint and all your other goodies!
Dad's got the moves lol.. Beautiful 💞
I love how the black paint shows through and makes the whole piece look framed. Excellent work combining and layering the JRV paper! ❤❤
Your bee transfer on was what pulled be in ,this one is as great as that one it is so custom and artistic. The pieces are like pen strokes or brush tools for your creativity. It's like the way some people take apart and recreate furniture. The other thing they are like is that of a quilt. The quilter didn't design or create the material used ,however the quilts they make from it are their on piece of art.
I love these types of videos, where you show how to use materials while you transform a piece and throw in a story or two.
I love what you did with your Dresser Debi! It's a design masterpiece 🖼💖
I have to say though, your Dad dancing stole the show! 😄💖👌💐
LOVED THIS! Did I see your dad dancing?! He’s AWESOME 👏👏👏
Debi! I have missed these videos!!!! This dresser is gorgeous. And Dad dancing with you & Ellie tops it!! ❤💎
You can also print on parchment paper if you want to personalize something! Also, you can apply modge podge liberally and let it dry completely. Then you take your print, cover it with parchment paper and iron over it until your print sticks. This will stop the problem with bubbling and creasing during application. You can add modge podge on top to seal or use polycrylic.
I love this piece and those decoupage papers! But the best part was Dad and Levi dancing with yall!! ❤
You inspired me to transform a 2-drawer Steelcase file cabinet into something that is much more creative and pretty than a putty colored office necessity. I'm even trading out the drawer pulls using black iron pulls from Jami Ray Vintage. I've never done discourage like this, I decided to jump in with both feet, hands, Big Top, DIY paint & more. Thanks Debi for encouraging us to make our homes (office) pretty & functional.
I feel a bit special knowing that we got to watch you whilst editing this video 🥰 Love this so much, Debi.
That's so GOOD! ❤
You wanna hear a funny story?
I got married when I was sixteen, my first decopodge project, I decopodged my marriage license to a piece of plywood, that had been cut around the edges scalloped. I then used polyurethane to adhere it and coat the top. It was absolutely beautiful & I never had any trouble, possible because I didn't know any rules to decopodge. Lol
Glad to see a how to video on decoupage. I miss seeing you work on pieces.
The trick to heavy paper Debbie is, packing tape. You use it on the backside put tape and peal off. It works for photos. Takes off a layer and makes it thiner. I have not tried with a poster but its a great way to use photos . ❤️
ohhh genius!!!!!
I just love, love your channel. I plan on looking at all your videos. I'm retired now and trying to find me another hobby. I love thifting and I think the things I'm learning from you would go hand-in-hand. Did I say, I love the commentary you mix in with you videos too. Many blessings.
Love this..! Glad you tried it again, I love doing this for clients and have even used paper serviettes... Use cling wrap (ceram wrap), make a ball and gently wrap out bubbles, this prevents tearing🦋🇿🇦
Hi Debi, thanks for showing how you decoupage. I've done it soo many years ago & I've forgotten how...look forward to you next video 😊
This dresser is one my most best favorite. I love butterflies and flowers and black and white. Did I tell you I love it?❤
Missed your solo videos. Love your work.
I watched that first M. Monroe poster decoupage video you made and afterwards I put a Audrey Hepburn poster on a kitchen table for my niece. You are right…it was so hard and I have done very little decoupaging since then😳. Tonight I am trying my hand at decoupage again using a large decoupage paper. Wish me luck!!!
Debi, I find when decoupaging flat surfaces, that the iron on method is the fastest & has no wrinkles at all. I recently finished a small wooden piece of furniture that I found on the street. It has ten drawers. I’m using it in my bedroom for underwear, bras, tank tops & socks. I decided to use a length of thin, cotton sari fabric from India. It was the first time using fabric on furniture & I was nervous. But it turned out really well. I painted it, then decoupaged over the paint then sealed it. I left the ten drawers wood, just stained them & the legs. Try this method next time you’re up to decoupaging. You’ll be hooked! Love, love, love this piece.🥰
Love the JRV decoupage paper. The prints, designs are awesome. There is something there for everyone☺
The dresser is to die for! And your dancing dad, so heart warming ♡♡♡
I love the way your dresser turned out! It’s very custom & beautiful! Your Dad dancing at the end was such a treat!!
I had to come back to this because I am about to decoupage right now!! 🙏🏽 wish me luck!! Lol
So exciting!!!! Online classes now??? Whooooohoooo!!!
Another awesome job ....but I am determined to used what ever type of paper or material to decopage because it's just to costly to buy special thin paper...
I did decoupage in the early 1980s. It was a fun craft. But, I didn’t like how thick the paper to decoupage was. This thinner paper with such beautiful depth and color is wonderful.
Ooo exciting!! I got to be the very first one to like this video!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thanks for doing this vide-Ive really been diggin the Decoupage lately!🦋💙
Looks so beautiful. I love adding textiles and paper to furniture. Gives them life!
Can’t wait to try decopauge!!Dancing at the end, da best! 💃🌺
yes so fun to have my Dad dance with us! See you soon IHV!
You are just so stinking good at what you do!!! Gotta give yourself more credit girly because you truly are amazing and beautiful in just cute little you and everything that you create 😊💕💕
Very cool! You gave me the courage to do this on a small chest of drawers!
And... YES you DID DEBI!!! Thank you so much for sharing your lessons and creativity with us!! I've heard that to help eliminate wrinkles you mist your paper with water before you adhere! 😘❤️💕 Perhaps using the Water Girl? 😏
Gorgeous as usual. You make it look effortless. Post your soundtracks! (maybe in a Spotify playlist or something?...Love 'em 😍
Nothing more I could say about your work just one word BEAUTIFUL 🥰🥰❤
Would have never thought to layer the different papers like that. Looks so beautiful! Love ya all dancing at the end! ❤️❤️
Super cute I save all my scraps too :)
You are so talented I enjoy watching your videos so much I just wished I wasn’t on the other side of the country I would be in your store every day soak up some of your creativity.
OK...I will try it! Thanks!
Love your shawl! Don't think I'd be as brave as you to wear it while using sealer!❤
Loved dancing dad and decoupaged dresser! Glad you attempted again...the dresser turned out so pretty and looks fun as well!😍
Dad’s dancin’ too!!!
Debi!! I have so missed these videos. I’m sooooo glad you showed decoupaging with layers. This is gorgeous. And you’re right. I didn’t even think about how BIG these papers are! I love this piece!
Thank you!
I have only ever used mod podge as my adhesive medium but have used a variety of papers and fabrics on wood, glass and cardboard. I find the absolute best method for me is to paint with the glue, allow to dry, add a second coat, allow to dry then iron the pattern on. This has worked well for me and I haven't had any problems with wrinkles, bubbles or non-adhesion. I finish with a third coat of mod podge and allow a few days to dry. I don't gift my items for thirty days to ensure the glue has fully cured to prevent damage after gifting. Need to be careful with the heat on glass though. I have only used thick flat glass in this way.
Thank you for sharing your salvation story. Like you said you never know what will come from something as simple as a backyard craft/bible story time.
Blessed
This is just so so stunning! I love that Marilyn decoupage video and the story that goes with it. And this one is super beautiful and so creative! In love 😍😍😍🍀
Has it been 8yrs!? U are still cute😁
I Remember that Marilyn...Thanks 4 this🌹
Debi that looks amazing you have a real eye for colour never thought those different sheets would've looked that good together you inspire me to be more brave with colours xx
So glad to see this video, I love all of your edited ones they are so fun and you always have great tips. Here's my tip: if you haven't tried the iron-on method of decoupage you are missing out - total game changer! Basically paint 2x coats of mod podge on your surface. Let dry completely (i.e come back tomorrow). Lay your tissue paper design (or rice paper but the thinner the better) on top, set an iron on top (play with the settings to see how high you need) - no steam. The heat reactivates the mod podge turning it into glue just enough to grab the paper. 100% no wrinkles ever. Search on youtube lots of people have posted about this, I had huge troubles with decoupage til I tried it this way.
I just learned this iron on method, tho I use parchment paper between the tissue paper and iron
Stunning!
Love, love, love it!!!❤
STUNNING.
I’m trying this....thank you cheers from Pennsylvania 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I ALWAYS love your video's... But seeing your dad at the end was the highlight of this one for me😊😊😊😊.. I LOVE your pops.... He's a creative genius like you .. Watching him put all the crazy pieces together in your store was like watching one of the seven wonders of the world coming together...💖💖💖💖 Love always...
💙💜You really have such a beautiful gift! You pieced those together perfectly!! It’s gorgeous!💜💙
NICE! Mixed media on a dresser. I love all those papers. I'm a retired graphic designer. We love pretty papers!
Beautiful!! ❤️
Looks great!
Beautiful paper....I like to paint , decapage, then seal with modepodge, dry then sand then mod, then sand then mod and sand...gives it a silky feeling
So pretty. Love it!
Really lively
Stunning!! I love it!! 💝
Beautiful! Well done!
Stunning
Stunning! I’m so happy you did this again!

The water tip is so good, I use every time now :) You are so welcome!
Lovely!
Oh my how beautiful❤❤❤
Love your paper choices.
I love it!
I did this 40 years ago when it wasn't fashionable. Gonna a try again
The
I LOVE doing decoupage and it's SO FUNNY how it has become SO popular again, especially since not too long ago it was kinda "looked down upon" or something. LOVE the dresser, LOVE your eye for design, LOVE how your store looks - I hope one day I can make a Road Trip out there, LOVED your dad dancing, and LOVED your willingness to give it a try again. I've possibly even got a tip that MIGHT help you with not only bigger pieces (of paper), but when working with any designs that are on paper that is a little thicker. Do NOT use this technique on napkins, tissue paper, or any other THIN/TRANSPARENT paper. Or at least realize you may need to experiment with it first.
Get your toolbox equipped with one of those plastic "scrapers" from the paint department at most hardware stores. I'm sorry I don't have an exact name or brand name for it. I'm sure you and many of your viewers are familiar with Pampered Chef's little square plastic scraper/cleaner for those stone pieces they sold/sell. This tool is very similar to that - just bigger. It's like an oversized charge card. It needs to be flexible! Not SUPER flexible, but it can't be rigid. I was able to find a 3 pack that contained different sizes and I used it when I had to apply very large decals onto a plastic drum head for a promotional item. It worked like a charm. You still need to work slowly and gentle (yet "firm") enough so that you don't tear whatever design you're applying.
I'll try and explain this as clearly and to the point as I can. Lets pretend your decoupaging a dresser drawer that's 36" long.
Your design is going HORIZONTALLY.
1. Apply your decoupage medium to only about 4-6" of the drawer, starting from the left end.
2. Next, start applying your design, but ONLY the amount that will fit within this prepped area.
3. While holding the part of the design that you are NOT applying just yet - keep it up and away from the drawer and any possible glue that may be on it - now with your free hand, use that "plastic flexible scraper" tool and gently but firmly press and slide the scraper across the design and work out any air bubbles to be sure design is completely FLAT against the drawer. You should be able to run this scraper over the design several times to ensure a successful bubble free transfer.
4. While continuing to hold one end of the design UP and away from drawer, use the other hand to apply another 4-6" section of decoupage glue.
5. Now lay down the design over that glued section, while using the scraper to not only help apply the design, but to also work out any possible air bubbles and to ensure a smooth bubble free transfer.
6. Keep repeating the above steps, working in small, manageable sections.
I hope this helps you.
OH! And another possible idea that'll have limitations, but it could still come in handy when you find a design that you just LOVE, but the paper is way too thick OR way too thin to work comfortably with. Take your item to any nationwide copy shop and see if they can photocopy it onto thinner paper for you. ??? I've even done this with wrapping paper that I loved but didn't have enough and the design wasn't available anymore. (You could also do this with fabric that you love but for whatever reason you just don't want to decoupage with fabric). Simply make a color copy of it on regular copy paper OR I believe you can even put a thinner type paper in your copy machine and produce the same end product. This opens the avenue of even using photos of any kind - such as "regular" printed photos or even "instamatic" photos. This is what makes decoupaging SOOOOOO COOL - the possibilities are endless in what you can do with it.
Wow it turned out great!! Thanks Debi!
Oh Debi your Dad is so cute I love how he gets involved in your world! 💙💙💙
That's just gorgeous! Love it
That’s beautiful 🥰
I loved that dresser, Debi! It’s always been one of my favorites.
