I've been stenciling jeans and overalls for about 2 years now. I always recommend washing them inside out on cold and hang drying them. The ones I've kept for myself have held up for over a year. Your's came out adorable. I love the maniquin heads. Those are so cool.

I love the bibs. I am definitely going to try it. I just bought a box of those antique dolls and a couple heads while on vacation in Wisconsin. Intended to use for projects but your video gave me more ideas. I will have to find your older video with the dolls. So cute. The doll heads turned out so cool. Debi you’re the greatest.

My bedroom is SO BORING! I want to paint the entire bedroom set and add some color!! This was a perfect Sunday morning - sitting on my patio, my dog chasing squirrels, drinking a great cup of coffee, and your video! Thanks! Now my mind is racing with projects I need to finish and new ones to start!
Do it! I've been painting my bedrooms since I was ten. I'm 61, now I paint every room in my house, not "crazy" brights, I guess I go for calming, but thing is, you can always cover it if you don't like it. Or go prudent with the paint on the walls and wild with the decor.

I say buy the weird, quirky stuff. It makes my home interesting-a conversation starter, but makes me feel good more importantly. I’ve painted on fabric since the 80s with only acrylic paint. It’s never come off the fabric. I know your paint is a little different but you may not need the additive even. Most paints I’ve used- never come out of the fabric. Also- maybe “test” by just doing a small stencil area, wash. That way you didn’t waste the time painting the whole thing if it doesn’t work. P.S. love your knitted Pom-pom throw!❤

I love everthing which sums it all up. Such a joyful video. The mannequin heads look beautiful. The leaf moulds made it, the one reminds me of an airbrushed supermodels face on a fashion magazine.

Omgoodness I know a few people that think doll heads and even dolls are creepy but I love them!!!
I have painted on fabric with acrylic paint. To set the paint permanently, use a thin cotton muslin press cloth and iron the painted fabric with press cloth to protect the iron. Use high heat, no steam. It should now be permanent to wash and even dry on low.

Hi Debi! I've been watching your channel on and off for years (way back before lock down), but due to unpredictable circumstances (I have stories like you do!), I didn't subscribe. But now everything in my life has finally become stable enough I feel the need to support you a bit, in the same way you supported me - through thick and thin!
So firstly I want to say how much you have perked me up when life got unbearable - with your bright and cheerful videos (especially your novel filming style), and always upbeat personality! Plus your fearless activities helped me believe I could do anything ( in a different DIY project - living through my own renovations), and I ended up with a huge surprise because of it.
A report I did was cited in a national bestseller!!! So thanks for keeping me upbeat and fearless when my life was like the beginning of 'A Tale Of Two Cities': "It was the best of times and the worst of times", but, in my case - it was both all at the same time!

As others... I've learned to wash and dry inside out. Also, with bright printed cotton or rayon clothes, India print cotton tapestry/bed covers- wash with a handful of table salt and this will keep colors from bleeding💕

I have used house paint ("Oops" paint from Home Depot) to paint fabric for years. The paint will stay on! Ask any house painted about spilled paint on their clothes. I have painted fabric squares for quilting as well as fun things on cothing... But house paint can be hard rought when you touch it. Fabic medium is to make the paint "softer". But I found using fabric medium can make the paint NOT stay on as well... So I use ifabric medium when painting a quilt square so it will feel nice. But use paint full strength on clothing that might be washed a lot... make sure you give enought time to dry/cure the paint.

I have loved maniquin heads , ceramics dolls and just heads. I made so many with my mother about 14 years ago and kept them all because I liked them so much and couldn't just sell my family. I enjoy what you and your family does , so keep up the great work!
I think the doll you found that you thought was a pin cushion may actually be a toilet paper cover. They were big in 1910-1950s.

I knew someone who took patterned tights that were worn through, and from the inside out she embroidered shapes where they have the intentional holes in jeans. This might be really work well with some stencils. She had gone shopping, and women kept asking her where she bought them! I also had a client who we think inspired the patterned galloshes.
I would almost say the look is more whimsigoth than dark academia...but either way I love it and am here for it!!! Thanks for all you and yours do!

I have painted jeans and sweatshirts for years, the trick I found is to let the paint cure for 2 weeks before washing. Then iron them from the wrong side of the garmet.

I have a set of dressers one set is wood one set is metal, And I was wondering, would this paint work on metal dressers? These metal dresses was handed down to me from my aunt and I just want to bring some back to Brown therefore my son who is autistic and I just want to bring that life to his dressers in. But I’m just worried the paint might not stick to it. What can I use to help it Stay on? even when I clean 🧽 them down. He really have a beautiful home in store.
