Two additional tips: USE Nitrile gloves, so you don’t absorb the solvents or oils and smell like them. USE PLENTY of ventilation, so don’t fill your house with CLP or lubricant odor while your better half might be cooking. Seriously. You want to be responsible and respectful. Otherwise it’s like trying to eat supper in a gas station.
Lets don't forget we are working with lead buildups, and hence extensive exposure to lead has been found to be cancerous (mostly in the state of california :D)
Great Video. Big Help. I am still a novice overall and new to Glocks. I used your video to clean my Glock 44. It was easy to follow your clear instructions. Hopefully, you are still making videos. thanks again for taking time to do this,
Thank you so much I've only cleaned my Glock a couple times so thanks for focusing of the safety when cleaning i learned a lot during your demonstration 👌💯
i was looking around to find that one GREAT vid for cleaning my Glock 26. Yours is the one! I will 'favorite' this vid and use it as a reference in the future. Thank You! BRAVO!
Thanks for that. New owner here and very nervous but watching your video step by step really helped. Removing the slide was tricky to watch and I watched a couple of other videos to get different angles but otherwise you were excellent.
I would highly recommend doing this outside if you can or with a lot of ventilation. I made the mistake of cleaning my Glock inside and even with windows open the solvent still smelled very strong. I always do it outside since then.
The bore needs a lot more attention than that. There was no brush used and the slotted jag that was used does an inferior job of making contact with the bore surface. Use a cylindrical jag and follow up with a bronze brush and you’ll see how much more residue was still left in the barrel.
If you haven’t found one yet, Id recommend going to a range/gun sale place and looking for gun cleaning kits. The ones at the place i go are based on caliber. For example for my glock 45 i recently purchased(haven’t gotten to pick up yet) i purchased a kit for 9mm pistols. For my Taurus PT1911 i already own i purchased a kit for 45 caliber pistols. It generally comes with all of what she showed in this video with the exception of the cleaning pads.
I clean my firearm after every time at the range. It takes me about 3 minutes to completely clean my Glocks. Great video, I will show this to my newbies that I train in firearms.
Gr8 video 100% I was puzzled for a min releasing take down slide didn’t know you had to hold both sides, prob newb mistake but once I figured that out everything fell into place 😊
In a pinch full synthetic motor oil can work. Im not recommending it but when i got my ar10 it was bone dry and i didn't have any lube. It seems to work just fine
I use a bore snake that leads with metal brush bristles, remainder of the snake is braiding. I really think some type of bore brush is needed to get into the rifling grooves. Just my two centavos worth.
Awww your talents are so underutilized in this video you are so above this they need leave at the range or let describe the differences in guns what a shame I still watched your video your my favorite youtuber :-)
As someone new to the hand gun life, It was an informative video. My only suggestion would be use a lighter colored or red cleaning mat. Black on black makes it hard to see certain steps. Thank you.
The only parts I’m concerned with is the trigger mechanism housing and trigger and trigger bar assembly area. So much build up gets in there and I’m not focused or patient enough to take all the internals out and put them back in correctly. Is there an easy and materially safe way to flush out those areas? I don’t want to leave water in there and risk rusting anything and flushing with gun oil seems like I would have oil running out for days. Anybody have tips for cleaning out the internals?
@@djrain1555 just gotta take everything down and do it the thorough way, plenty of videos on here to Follow the steps it’s not too bad. Luckily with glocks though you can go 1,000-2,000 rounds before you have to consider cleaning trigger assembly and striker internal area thoroughly
I always have a problem getting the slide off. The 2 pins on either side hardly protrude enuf to pull them down to release the slide. I have to use my fingernails and still can't grab the buggers
It really is a testament to the excellent design of these guns how easy they are to disassemble and clean

Great tips!
Great tip, because I threw up in my room with no ventilation using hop.
Thanks for that additional reminder. I have lots of gloves being in healthcare and smoke meat often! Will do this in my garage as well!

Today was my first day at the gun range. I used this video as a guide to clean my gun, thank you.
I totally agree with Rem. An excellent presentation. I was always so anxiety-ridden when I cleaned my gun. Until I realized it was just iron.
Excellent job! You listen to a guy do this and they have to add a bunch of excess BS. She was right to the point. Bravo.

Good job! After a day at the range, at a minimum I do a field strip and clean. Safety and performance is #1.
First time pistol owner, thank you for this! I learned alot
