Do you prefer zoom lenses or prime lenses? Why? I'd love to hear your take on it! 🤗
Great video. Came across your channel recently when researching the 17-40 and 70-200. Really enjoying the content and appreciate hearing your perspective.
Thanks Eddie! Glad you like it :)
Typically for my personal videos such as RUclips I'll use a zoom, mostly because I only have a single prime lens. For my films where i'm using like a $12,000 camera (rented of course) I usually use primes.
For photography I use a single 50mm lens. Typically I don't think film photographers usually switch their lenses.
Oh nice! So interesting to see different use cases if you do a deep dive in video production versus photography. I feel like in video, you can always spend more money then in photography.
@@KyleCWong Oh 100% man.I don't even buy the stuff for film lol. I just rent them out, most of the time I just use my friend's camera lol.
Great comparison! Love this! Love your editing in this video too! I can tell you are highly educated on this topic!
Thanks Eric! Just trying to spread the knowledge :)
Thanks for the tips ! I learnt alot :)
No problem! Glad to hear! :)
agreed with the 50 being a good first lens. That's what I did with my old Canon t2i lmao
I started with the 50 on my T2i as well! Great little setup! 🤗
Great video Kyle. I've always been a prime lens guy but switching it off and on with another lens to get a different focal length was always the one thing that was tough. I'm really looking to get a nice zoom soon just for convenience.
I can totally relate, I've been really on and off with prime lenses and zooms too. Then I realized how annoying it is to switch lenses if you wanted a different focal length/compression. Also started shooting less portraits so I don't need use my shallow depth of field as much. 😱
Had a nifty 50 with my canon t3i and eventually swapped that out for the pancake lens. Made the plunge to Sony with just two primes, might get a zoom lens in the next few months since I'm doing some more video. Great video explaining the differences Kyle, keep up the video hustle.
Thanks Davis! I do feel like zooms are more handy for video, but you still get a really good look with a wide open prime (which is also great for lowlight). Thanks for stopping by! :)
NICE INFO BRO
Thank you! :)
The nifty 50 is sooo good for the price!
It is incredible value! I just borrowed my brothers 50mm again, I miss this little guy! 🤗
I would need s prime and zoom for my fujifilmxt20 some time in future.
Fuji has some really nice selection of prime lenses! A lot of them are small and compact too :)
