    I bought one of these and it sounds great, and that’s up against my Movo VRX 10 Pro. I use it for my guitar amp.

      I just bought a second one which will be mounted on a second boom stand for my Marshall guitar amps speaker cabinets. Will experiment with Y cables to feed both speaker cabs into my camera input jack for a fuller sound. Or have 2 voice mics so as I move around my voice is picked up both locations for balance.

      100% - it sounds good enough to be a carry bag mic

  • @ScottGrammer
    @ScottGrammer Год назад +1

    @meistudiony is correct. It's NOT a shotgun. Also, I notice a dimmed top octave and some serious clipping. Not a great sound, but for an alternative to an in-camera mic, it might be OK, especially at $20.
    Edit: I just looked at the picture of it on Amazon. Could this thing have been built into a case originally intended for an LED flashlight?

    • @ObscureMics
      @ObscureMics  Год назад

      Lol.... It does look like a flashlight!

    • @gabedestellano
      @gabedestellano 11 месяцев назад

      Yeah this thing is not a shotgun, and I would be surprised if it's actually a condenser because there's no power going to it. I can't get it to work with my Galaxy S23 ultra and pretty much everything works with this phone.

    • @gabedestellano
      @gabedestellano 11 месяцев назад

      I was thinking that same thing about the flashlight by the way, it totally looks like a flashlight that was milled into a microphone after the fact.

    It didn't sound bad anywhere and FOR ITS INTENDED PURPOSE it sounded better than the phone! 😂
    Just for fun you should use it for a lav on a wireless setup interview style. 😉

      @@ObscureMics the VRX10-"Pro" actually works pretty well for traveling, isolating the sound a little better than my Zoom Hn1's built-in mic. But I'm sure the majority of the guts are the same as what's found in the Syntech. Handy little tools for recording on the fly. Yet another great meat & potatoes review, without all the extra bullsh!t the rest of us don't care about. Thanks, man!

    For $20? Heck, the accessories are worth most, if not all of that budget. The mic itself isn't groundbreaking or sounding great, it is sometimes even clipping. But it is definitely servicable sound, and I believe for someone starting out RUclips/vlogging or streaming it is definitely enough, most people wouldn't mind listening to this.

    • @ObscureMics
      @ObscureMics  Год назад

      Yeah the clipping parts were strange because my level readout was - 15db consistently... But I kept hearing that clipping or almost over saturation here and there. Just rolled with it

    • @krzysztofmaska2215
      @krzysztofmaska2215 Год назад

      @@ObscureMics I think it may be too low max SPL of the microphone, and it just can't stand the pressure of the wave you are sending into it, I think Dracomies had similar thing in one of his Rode 3.5mm microphones, where it was clipping while still being far from 0dB.

  • @TommyAlanRaines

    For a lot this would be a good zoom, teams and meet etc. mic. I have been in so many video conf' calls with people who had crappy mics and they could purchase a cheapy like this and be heard lol.

    How far was this from your mouth in studio? I’ve had the neewer cm14 for a bit and was throroughly impressed for the $16 I got it for. Bundled with extras too! Just seeing this sub $20 makes me want to get it but don’t need it. Ughhh lol. I have a rule, a dumb one, where if there is tech (decent tech) under $20 I’ll pull the trigger. These probably rock the same capsule right?

    Such an oxymoron… for a mic to truly be a shotgun mic it needs to have an i interference tube long enough to cancel out frequencies. Gotta love how marketing for these companies just spout any kinda buzz words to make their product more palatable. Just outright lies. Just call it a camera mic and call it a day and people will still buy it and you wont be bs’ing people.
