@@SG_Exel Back strike is a quick kill so you can get back into the action quicker and/or be less vulnerable. Assassinations are flashier and longer, but give some kind of bonus besides just style points.
heres how much i like assassinations, i grinded out the armour set in Halo 4 on the 360 and would aim for it in Halo 5, hell in MW2019 i would do it every chance i could, hell im still doing it in MW3 cause i spawn a little person to punch people in the nuts, i hope they bring em back for Infinite and can be done on more then just spartans but also AI.
Well if they brought them back, those would obviously be the default set like it has been forever. The non directional assassinations would be the ones for sale most likely
I really hope assassinations make a return. Makes great for screenshots as well. Though with melee weapons, if the UNSC ever get their own, I'd say a combat knife would be great as a fast yet weaker weapon of choice which would be great. Maybe 2 to 3 hits. Another one that could work would probably be a Stun Baton? 2 to 3 hits for that too, slower than the knife but a bit faster than the energy sword for comparison. Especially since we've got elements they could add more to the shock section with that weapon
coutaeu de lancer means throwing knife, which means the Combat Knife is probably going to be throwable. fusil a canon scie means sawed-off shotgun. arme inconnue means unknown weapon, so Rancher for as far as we know, is unknown
Literally people who make the argument that “Assassinations” take too much time, what a joke. They can easily implement a button layout toggle them on and off.
im getting high off hopium that this video is true not having assassinations is exactly the last feature i want to consider giving time to infinite. Assassinations in Halo is my favorite thing ever.
They also said that they literally need to redo every character rigging (player and enemies) or something like that, so that assassinations can even work.
i recently sold everything on halo 5 for req points for my final couple gold packs, after celling everything i managed to make enough for just 25 gold packs. Last pack i got 104 Ways To Die assassination, the fastest killtime for an assassination in the whole game. I can now die happy :)
Honestly Assassination is one of the simple features that are just *chef kiss* I hope to see it in the future. Honestly it’s something I’d spend moneybon
imagine removing a feature because you think competitive play is more important than 90% of your playerbase, but also releasing a game thats hardly "e-sports ready"
Soooo... I speak and read french (its my native language) The Combat knife says "Couteau de lancer" which translates to *Throwing Knife*. Don't wanna burst Your bubble but I don't think this will be for Assassinations, it might be a new "Grenade type" like if You take someones shield down and are reloading You can throw it really really fast (Much faster than other grenades).
Thanks for the heads up, but I think a throwing knife would be a stupid idea. I mean we're in titanium alloy armor for god sake. The power and velocity you would have to throw a knife at to Pierce armor made out of that strong of an alloy would be insane even for a spartan.
@@SG_Exel If it makes You feel any better the Falcon says the Mini Warthog of the sky, the Pelican says "The even bigger warthog of the sky" and the phantom says "The red version" also one of the maps says "A l"infinie et au dela" Which means *To infinity and BEYOND!* lol
I’d love to be able to assassinate boss enemies if they’re low or 1% health like Warden Eternal from Halo 5. Hunters in Halo Reach and Halo 2 in the MCC can be boarded and you can beat them down or plant a grenade in them basically assassinating them.
I never knew you could board hunters, are you sure? I guess now I gotta go look it up because I've always wanted to do that but I never knew you could already!
I'd honestly rather the store be filled with stuff like emblems, assassinations, stances, armor effects, and weapon/vehicle coatings than with actual armor and armor coatings. Nothing is worse than seeing a badass coating or helmet just to look it up and find out it's part of a $20 bundle filled with other shit you don't want. I'm definitely one of those Halo players that's more open to the franchise evolving and changing (Reach is my favorite), but I'll always prefer the old-school approach to earning armor that Halo 3 had. Even doing what Halo 4 kind of did and mixing Halo Reach and 3's armor chase systems is preferable to buying it in the store. If assassinations being added brings us closer to that future, then I'm all for it
I covered the store topic with all the bundles and bull crap in the video before this one. It's definitely something that I'm upset about too believe me.
assassinations need to come after networking is fixed, we've all felt how bad it is when you prestige someone with bad lag and weird stuff happens like they walk off while you're stuck in an animation getting pelted by the enemy
@@SG_Exeli do the finishers every opportunity i get. So many times ive let my team mates hanging cause i wanted to curb stomp someone i downed. Throwing knives are wack, no style.
Simple answer is: no. We are not getting them in Halo Infinite. They say it was on the table, when realistically it was in the trash since the beginning.
The dance between two players hold more story than an entire match. Moments forgotten when pleading for teammates to save them, team stealing the kill, saving your teammate, oblivious teammates as ones geeting killed next to them, etc. So many moments in a match. Halo needs more expressions
Thank you so much! This is actually my first comment to address me directly, and it was a compliment! I'm gonna save your comment for the sad days when I feel like shit lol.
I love Assassinations in Halo Reach Gun Game bc they demote someone's gun tier. Plus they're funny and cool. I hope after the Networking improvements, that they implement Assassinations next.
I'm ok with them making the Assassinations purchasable. As long as they give us the assassinations that came with Halo Reach, Halo 4, Halo 5, as default depending on what angle you came in like: - Hitting the back from above - Hitting the Right shoulder - Hitting Mid-Air Assassinations - Hitting the Legs - Melee Weapon Specific Assassinations - Game Mode Specific Assassinations As long as we get the Default ones, I'm down to buying new ones that look cool and that cost $5 (500 Credits). No more than that or it's a rip-off.
Assassinations don’t need a competitive advantage, many companies players love the normal sandbox but just don’t use everything in comp play because did things work better for comp. And the ones that hate anything that they don’t use in comp are the ones kinda ruining stuff like this
I think my favorite assassination from 5 was called Beatdown, it was the one showcased when you talked about the knife, where the guy punches a few times first. At this point, Assassinations are the only thing that will bring me back to infinite, and they better extend to PvE as well.
I don’t wanna hear anything about competitive play for 1 if you have assignations enabled it only actually assassinates if you hold the button down if you just press it it’ll melee normally BUT EVEN BETTER if that’s too much for you, you can just disable the damn OPTIONAL setting
Honestly, once i find one i like that fits the mental image of my spartan, it'll be the one i stick with and it would be nice if they launch the assassinations with a "Lone Wolves 2" since it goes with that aesthetic
Yk, there’s also the fact that they could just be in the new operations… the stuff that’s free. Also, I think a more important feature would be playable elites, which have been in just as many halo games as assassinations have been. 3.
I used to run the "Aw Snap" assassination. I showed my girlfriend all the assassinations in H5 and that's the only one she was grossed out by. Mostly from the audible crunch from the elbow break lol
There probably just using that style knife to b in halo themed cuz there not gonna use some random looking knife for halo. There gonna obviously use the classic reach knife regardless of assasinations coming or not
I'd kill for assassinations to make a comeback, but they need to fix the extreme inconsistency of successful melee attacks. I am not sure if its a desync issue or the player collision stuff, but it ruins melee combat for me. Energy swords and hammers not landing hits or kills point blank, but someone can lunge at me with a sword from 20ft away...really stupid. Or someone backsmacking you when you phased through them halfway. If they could fix thise issues I'd be very happy to see assassinations return. I could care less if competitive players cry about assassinations. I was Onyx or a rank below that in Halo 5 ranked all the time and I took every opportunity to use assassinations when I could. If people cant learn how to tap-kill or just toggle the feature, then they shouldn't be playing ranked or competitive matches. If you got killed by assassinations, thats too bad, thats the part of the game. Its likely 343 would make it a toggled feature in ranked anyway or for HCS tournaments. Halo is too sweaty anymore, I can take or leave ranked. Casual play is starting to get too sweaty anymore and takes the fun out of it. Having more fun weapons and assassinations are part of what bring the sandbox to life, and I look forward to any content that will continue to make Halo thrive and be the best game franchise to exist. Side note, I'd kill for Warzone to make a comeback and all the REQ weapons. We have a few but I want more, lol.
I think the halo sandbox might be my next video topic. A lot of people don't realize it but most of the fun stuff that we got in Halo 5 was only because of the req system and warzone, and I would love to see it all come back honestly. At least you could earn armor with req points and shit. You can't do that in infinite though, everything's ten dollars a pop or more.
i was thinking about what they could mean when they say "add it in a meaningful way" They just haven't figured out how to fully monetize it yet. the knife is probably going to be a skin that you are equipped to use in your assignation. and you can change it out (buy) for different ones.
Best way to introduce assassinations that get rid of all the negatives people have Keep the old system of different assassinations depending on the angle, BUT, make them like battlefield 4 where they're both quick and in first person. Maybe even add the part where you steal their dog tags (emblem)
Interesting idea, but I like how they zoom out. Personally I would hope they do what Titan Fall 2 did and give us a cinematic angle to watch. I think that would be awesome.
Interestingly I'm Firefight sometimes an erroneous prompt will show up "Hold E to execute player". I don't believe it shows up in any other mode, it could be nothing, but it could be something
That would be for allowing players to deny a revive to the enemy team in other game modes where the revive mechanic is implemented. Why that shows up in firefight for you is beyond my comprehention.
Well we need as well to make a very well known populatation happy of halo as well is having playable elites in infinite as well. I'm more of reach version of way they did it is having a certain matchmake mode for elites only and usible with everyone else armors in custom games only. As well of customization as selecting pre set armor and changing the color on them as well add emblem on them.
I liked the assassinations. Give them strategic use, so you can make a moment-to-moment decision to back punch or assassinate... for example... a successful assassination might give the assassin instant shield recharge or temporary overshield, whereas, if you just need them quickly dead and dont need a shield boost.. go for the back punch.
Re-commenting this as its own comment instead of a reply because I think its a fair point I genuinely don't think it was ever a competitive issue, I think that was used as a scapegoat/excuse. My actual guess as to why they weren't included was 1. the horrible dev cycle this game went through with out-sourced contractors and unreadable code, and 2. the horrible networking this game has had only until recently. Meleeing people is a 50/50 with the desync, driving vehicles is buggy as all hell, simply getting repulsed makes you teleport around and flicker; i can't imagine how assassinations would've worked at all. Assassinating someone might've straight up broke the camera, your movement, the enemies movement, not gone though, broke animations, etc etc etc etc. Basic mechanics barely worked, so I don't see how an intricate interaction between two players with the notecode would've been at all smooth. If they did exist, it's highly likely they would've disabled them until they could be improved. Now with the new networking system (built from Halo 5's apparently) it's more likely for them to come back. I hope so, at least, I miss them.
As time as gone on it's become clear as day that all the times 343i said "X will not be there at launch" for Halo Infinite they actually meant "Halo Infinite will never have X"
I would say Supernova, but it only worked with sticking someone with a Plasma Grenade and throwing them once. Every other time it was just an underwhelming knife assassination.
I think a easy answer is because they made the game teen rated instead of m rated. I like how that they handled death In the campaign. But everything else is made for Fortnite kids..
Well we all know their marketing to the wrong audience. Hopefully they give up soon and give us back our blood and gore. It's honestly such a stupid reason anyway, it's not like blood ever stopped 13 year old kids from playing GTA 5.
There will if they release them, similar to the armor effects. The one thing Infinite got right about the store is showing you exactly what you are paying for.
Actually assassinations "started" in Halo 3, just as a simple back smack with no animation. But still I was a little surprised that it was an earnable medal in multiplayer even if it had no animation. Just something I noticed when I was younger

@@SG_Exel Back strike is a quick kill so you can get back into the action quicker and/or be less vulnerable. Assassinations are flashier and longer, but give some kind of bonus besides just style points.
What if assassinations gave you like half overshields or something
I think that would be a great idea!
@@itsNabezBrain damage
@@christopherrapczynski204 it be like that
Idk about that... I would rather keep them as something cosmetic, akin to an emote. Not a gameplay mechanic.
No, that would be annoying
heres how much i like assassinations, i grinded out the armour set in Halo 4 on the 360 and would aim for it in Halo 5, hell in MW2019 i would do it every chance i could, hell im still doing it in MW3 cause i spawn a little person to punch people in the nuts, i hope they bring em back for Infinite and can be done on more then just spartans but also AI.
When i was playing MW2 dmz. I couldnt stop thinking about how great the mode would be for halo.
Halo desperately needs more coop content.
I hope if they do bring back they go the route of reach and halo 4 with direction based assassinations
Well if they brought them back, those would obviously be the default set like it has been forever. The non directional assassinations would be the ones for sale most likely
I hope they have them in because that I love them in Hallo Reach End Halo four and halo five so hopefully they do at Assassinations
"everything is gonna be the new supernova"
did anyone else take this as a titanfall reference
Not how I meant it but I'll take it! TF2 had some killer executions too!
@@SG_Exel Just for context, supernova is the name of a widely used camo in Titanfall 2 popularized by one of the community’s most known creators
@@blockglock Thanks for the context! Funny how it makes sense both ways too!
In Halo Reach you could do an assassination in the air. Air Assasination is what it was called.
You could also do that in 4 and 5.
Oh my oh my how awesome that would be! I really hope that they do bring them back as well as assassinations on enemies in campaign and firefight!!🙏🙏
video starts at 3:02
Didnt halo reach basically introduce "Assassinations" now its in like every game? Except infinite? wth
If assassinations come back to Halo, so will I. Yes, getting tge smsll things done matters that much to me.
coutaeu de lancer means throwing knife, which means the Combat Knife is probably going to be throwable.
fusil a canon scie means sawed-off shotgun.
arme inconnue means unknown weapon, so Rancher for as far as we know, is unknown
Literally people who make the argument that “Assassinations” take too much time, what a joke. They can easily implement a button layout toggle them on and off.
Not to mention the average animation time for a kill was like 2.3 seconds lol.
im getting high off hopium that this video is true
not having assassinations is exactly the last feature i want to consider giving time to infinite.
Assassinations in Halo is my favorite thing ever.
I have a feeling you and I would be good friends.
Warms my heart to see people playing H5 still!
Honestly Assassination is one of the simple features that are just *chef kiss* I hope to see it in the future. Honestly it’s something I’d spend moneybon
I would also definitely spend money on it for sure. It just feels so clean when you pull an assassination off.
W video man great to see you uploading! came from the gang up video 6 years ago! time flies man
the combat knife on the screenshot says "throwing knife" in french, i don't expect it to have anything to do with assassinations
thank you yeah that took me a 30sec google search lmao wtf is this assassination talk
imagine removing a feature because you think competitive play is more important than 90% of your playerbase, but also releasing a game thats hardly "e-sports ready"
bro legit my fav part of halo, all the glitches and tech you can do w em too, miss them lots
Damn, you did burst my bubble but a throwing knife still sounds cool.
Thanks for the heads up, but I think a throwing knife would be a stupid idea. I mean we're in titanium alloy armor for god sake. The power and velocity you would have to throw a knife at to Pierce armor made out of that strong of an alloy would be insane even for a spartan.
@@SG_Exel I agree its stupid but that is the translation :( Hopefully 343i are just bad at french and made a grammar mistake.
@@115spt2 I really hope so too!
I definitely agree that the networking needs fixed, but they are working on it!
Reach assassinations were one of the last things made by Halo that were copied by every other shooter after it. Bring them back
Yeah. I hate that COD has them now and we don't.
@@SG_Exeli do the finishers every opportunity i get.
So many times ive let my team mates hanging cause i wanted to curb stomp someone i downed. Throwing knives are wack, no style.
The day assassinations come back, is the day I and probably many others come back for good
retroactively adding Reach's assassination animations to the Reach-themed season pass would be cool.
Cool content dude, you have a nice voice and tho you have 600 subs, I think you have the potential to be a great halo content creator!
I hope so too!
>bring back assassinations
>add a toggle for them in the settings
Boom, balanced, simple
I'd love to have assassinations come back in Campaign too.
I would legitimately replay the whole halo infinite campaign just to do it with assassinations.
I'm ok with them making the Assassinations purchasable. As long as they give us the assassinations that came with Halo Reach, Halo 4, Halo 5, as default depending on what angle you came in like:
- Hitting the back from above
- Hitting the Right shoulder
- Hitting Mid-Air Assassinations
- Hitting the Legs
- Melee Weapon Specific Assassinations
- Game Mode Specific Assassinations
As long as we get the Default ones, I'm down to buying new ones that look cool and that cost $5 (500 Credits). No more than that or it's a rip-off.
I think that they would have to have a default set. Having assassinations as a pay only feature would probably be a huge problem.
Assassinations don’t need a competitive advantage, many companies players love the normal sandbox but just don’t use everything in comp play because did things work better for comp. And the ones that hate anything that they don’t use in comp are the ones kinda ruining stuff like this
Some time ago I heard a theory that the assassination could use cosmetic knives, which instead of being due to defects
That's what I'm saying!
Lemme get that Super Nova assassination again from H5
Honestly, once i find one i like that fits the mental image of my spartan, it'll be the one i stick with and it would be nice if they launch the assassinations with a "Lone Wolves 2" since it goes with that aesthetic
I suggest they allow assassination animations and in settings have a toggle button to turn assassinations on and off for your character
They had a setting in Halo 5 for this exact thing
Yeah, they had that in halo 5 so it shouldn't be an issue for infinite
Yk, there’s also the fact that they could just be in the new operations… the stuff that’s free. Also, I think a more important feature would be playable elites, which have been in just as many halo games as assassinations have been. 3.
"Huffing the Hopium" is my new favorite phrase.
I just got a new can on it for my inhaler
I used to run the "Aw Snap" assassination. I showed my girlfriend all the assassinations in H5 and that's the only one she was grossed out by. Mostly from the audible crunch from the elbow break lol
Terminal Velocity is the coolest assassination in slow mo, and you can’t change my mind
The only thing i need is the battle rifle to be fast again, assassinations would be real nice to have though.
There probably just using that style knife to b in halo themed cuz there not gonna use some random looking knife for halo. There gonna obviously use the classic reach knife regardless of assasinations coming or not
Right behind you! I can’t wait.
I think having a combat knife in general would be a cool addition to halo infinite. Hoping for assassinations though.
i was thinking about what they could mean when they say "add it in a meaningful way" They just haven't figured out how to fully monetize it yet. the knife is probably going to be a skin that you are equipped to use in your assignation. and you can change it out (buy) for different ones.
Best way to introduce assassinations that get rid of all the negatives people have
Keep the old system of different assassinations depending on the angle, BUT, make them like battlefield 4 where they're both quick and in first person. Maybe even add the part where you steal their dog tags (emblem)
Interesting idea, but I like how they zoom out. Personally I would hope they do what Titan Fall 2 did and give us a cinematic angle to watch. I think that would be awesome.
@@SG_Exel True, shame we can't have the old styled ones but need to compromise
Just have an option to turn it on or off much simpler
Interestingly I'm Firefight sometimes an erroneous prompt will show up "Hold E to execute player". I don't believe it shows up in any other mode, it could be nothing, but it could be something
That would be for allowing players to deny a revive to the enemy team in other game modes where the revive mechanic is implemented. Why that shows up in firefight for you is beyond my comprehention.
My favorite from "5" has to be 'Shove It'
Well we need as well to make a very well known populatation happy of halo as well is having playable elites in infinite as well. I'm more of reach version of way they did it is having a certain matchmake mode for elites only and usible with everyone else armors in custom games only. As well of customization as selecting pre set armor and changing the color on them as well add emblem on them.
With assassinations comes Venator armor core!!! Lets gooo
I miss the Venator Armor set so bad, it was the first set I earned in Halo 4!
i can see, whenever this release, everyone playing trying to do an assassinations in every match
I know I tried it.
The Text above the knife says throwing knife translated
I liked the assassinations. Give them strategic use, so you can make a moment-to-moment decision to back punch or assassinate... for example... a successful assassination might give the assassin instant shield recharge or temporary overshield, whereas, if you just need them quickly dead and dont need a shield boost.. go for the back punch.
Re-commenting this as its own comment instead of a reply because I think its a fair point
I genuinely don't think it was ever a competitive issue, I think that was used as a scapegoat/excuse.
Halo 5 is rated T and it has plenty of assassinations. It just doesnt have blood.
im curious as to what the devs were thinking when they said they couldn't fit into the sandbox and then proceed to add the fucking cindershot
literally made me laugh out loud reading this. I completely agree, I hate that gun personally.
As time as gone on it's become clear as day that all the times 343i said "X will not be there at launch" for Halo Infinite they actually meant "Halo Infinite will never have X"
Not entirely true. Forge, infection, customs browser, etc. We'll find out sooner or later.
I’d hop back on halo if they did bring assassinations back.
Hell yeah.
If they are coming back they’ll likely make them something you’ll either buy or earn in a season pass maybe.
I would say Supernova, but it only worked with sticking someone with a Plasma Grenade and throwing them once. Every other time it was just an underwhelming knife assassination.
Its nice to see your spartan do something cool
One of the few things that I like about halo 5 is the assassinations
I think a easy answer is because they made the game teen rated instead of m rated. I like how that they handled death In the campaign.
But everything else is made for Fortnite kids..
Well we all know their marketing to the wrong audience. Hopefully they give up soon and give us back our blood and gore. It's honestly such a stupid reason anyway, it's not like blood ever stopped 13 year old kids from playing GTA 5.
This could be an easy money grab for 343, I don’t get why they aren’t interested
I don’t get why people hate assassinations. When people tell me why, it all just sounds like dumb reasons. Those people are no fun!
Damn...343 acting like they can't just disable assassinations for Competitive play
Personally if they do come back and end up in the store there should be a preview of them so we know what to buy and don't buy
There will if they release them, similar to the armor effects. The one thing Infinite got right about the store is showing you exactly what you are paying for.
I think they would have to yeah, I hope they would do that for us anyway.
Very good point.
At least there’s no assassination tower if you know you know
Assassinations would make the game look less stale and basic
agreed.
Actually assassinations "started" in Halo 3, just as a simple back smack with no animation. But still I was a little surprised that it was an earnable medal in multiplayer even if it had no animation. Just something I noticed when I was younger
