imagine removing a feature because you think competitive play is more important than 90% of your playerbase, but also releasing a game thats hardly "e-sports ready"

I liked the assassinations. Give them strategic use, so you can make a moment-to-moment decision to back punch or assassinate... for example... a successful assassination might give the assassin instant shield recharge or temporary overshield, whereas, if you just need them quickly dead and dont need a shield boost.. go for the back punch.

In beginning of 2023, 343 Industries said, “Assassinations is a tech thing. Potentially a possibility in the future, but we’d have to overhaul the whole entire multiplayer character rig.” Because of this, many fans have then responded by saying, “Sounds like we are never going to get assassinations then” and if that’s so, then that really sucks, and it pisses me off🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬!!!!!!!!!

I hope the system leans more toward reach and less toward 5 though. I remember in reach and 4 what animation played depended on context and where you hit them. If a wide variety of animations exist for each context and hit region this could be amazing. If its like 5 where its almost always the animation you have equipped, I won't find myself enjoying this system nearly at all.

Why don't they simply make it a feature that you can toggle on and off? If you're a competitive player, you could just turn it off and casually hit them in the back to kill them. But if you want the animation for the assassination to take effect, then you could turn the feature on. Whenever they toggle it on or off, it changes how the game reacts when you hit a player or AI from the back. I don't understand why that can't be implemented. I feel like a small team of indie developers could add it without too many issues.

I truly doubt itll be back for infinite but hopefully for halo 7 also lets hope it isnt a FTP live service cess pit.

They need to bring back the assassinations from halo reach instead of making them into shitty macro transactions. The way they can make assassinations more badass is if they made it default and add the option from halo 5 which allowed you to disable them ffs, and if they want to make the animations more sauce they can add the options to equip multiple assassinations and perform them from different angles depending on the slot you equip them in, I mean call of duty has some sick take downs and I always use take downs any chance I get. Edit: The amount of times I wish I had assassinations in infinite was the amount of times I missed or fucked up a ninja of didn't successfully back smack someone, in Halo Reach, Halo 4 or 5 that would've never been an issue, because you could actually take them down. The over Shield guy would've been an easy target to a skilled assassin in multiplayer.

They should have had assassination since the beginning. And they better not hide the assassinations behind their shop. At least have them available in the battle passes or whatever they're called now.

They need to just make a whole new game and just add upgradable guns and thumbs to do that actually reward players with things. All they really do is reward the hardcore halo fans with new armors but aside from getting able to compare yourself to other hardcore players. I think they just need to cave in and add upgrades for guns. A legit battle royale. A legit survival mode that's actually fun. There needs to be like cooler weapons you can get, idk it's just kinda boring doing the same things every season like they are making it.

Just make a setting to disable them if you dont want them its pretty easy

i was thinking about what they could mean when they say "add it in a meaningful way" They just haven't figured out how to fully monetize it yet. the knife is probably going to be a skin that you are equipped to use in your assignation. and you can change it out (buy) for different ones.

The argument of assassinations being in the game or not doesn't make sense to me. It's like asking me which is more fun: Beating one person faster and taking less risk or pull off a sick animation because your a spartan and it's fun. Personally I choose the latter. People get so caught up in the "If your not winning it's not fun" but to me if I get slam dunked out of my assassination, I wouldn't care less if I died because assassinations look awesome and for me that's 100% worth the risk. You could argue that it makes gameplay slow and boring and uncompetitive, but if that's why you play video games then I can't help you, go play league of legends or something. It shouldn't be this complicated, assassinations are fun and should be in the game because of that. They shouldn't be excluded because they take to long and that's not fun, because your simply incorrect if you think that.

the problem with assassinations having to be cooler than normal because they're charging for them just means that the animations are just gonna be more ridiculous than the last, supernova looked pretty but it was retarded logically. Everything has to be fucking monetized these days, Reach did it best, bunch of animations at release that changed depending on where you were standing behind them

I'm having fun and the only two things I've ever bought was the season 1 BP and a skin when it released. Tbf I stopped playing for a while until things got better but in the past 3 months I've been loving it.

Would be really nice if each weapon gets Unique Assasinations.. I do like the like the ones of previous Halos but i really would love to Assassinate some one with the Sniper like Hit my Enemie with the Stock of the Sniper and then Aim for the Head and shot him.. Yea those with the tiny Knives are good too but i would like to Decide which Execution (best option would a "Weapon Selection" for Assassination with BR, Sniper, Energy Sword, ...) to have like more Ways to Execute your Enemie in Style.. Just my Opinion

Keep in mind that the knife on the shoulder piece in the Operation battlepass is visible from your in game perspective. It moves like a mf along the entire side of your POV
