    • @MzDsmile
      @MzDsmile 7 лет назад +201

      Keyword is "clubs", normal civilians don't usually wear that in their day to day lives. Usually at most revealing you would see something like the first image, and that's when dressing casual around the home or something.

      Ivo Sotirov every time I'm in Seoul I take home a suitcase of new clothes. Korean Style is on point, the clothes and well designed, thought out, good fabrics, and not as expensive. I love it. Buy the same quality of clothing in London or NYC, you're spending thousands of dollars 💵 Seoul is seriously one of the best city's on earth to shop for clothes, honestly!

    • @nntflow7058
      @nntflow7058 7 лет назад +55

      Wrong. Koreans shows lots of legs and wear extremely short pants that almost shows their butt cracks. But they don't show their shoulders or boobs. Also the people in the video are in winter time. So they put more clothes one.
      Been to Seoul and Jeju in summer, They wear thin tank tops and short2, lots of them.

    • @brothebys

And the socks shoes are just like any other shoes people wear. The only weird thing is the lady gaga one.

    "We should be more accepting of other people"... "My girlfriend is totally not allowed to wear that". Hmmm. How do we get these two thoughts from the same person. They talk about Korean women lacking sex appeal and confidence, but then at the same time they're the ones telling women that they can't dress too sexy.

      I'm not talking about cleavage tho im talkin bout "butt cleavage". Big difference and not gonna go through the trouble to explain. But u should get the status quo by now.
      Men and women are fundamentally DIFFERENT. If a guy takes of his shirt does it mean its okay for a lady to take off her shirt too? (I swear to the Lord if u say its the same or "its okay" then theres no point in continuing)

      lol its not a matter of being comfortable, its a matter of having your own honor, value and shame. Any sane man can see a ladys himalayas without her even wearing revealing clothes cuz its fkn out there already so why go to the xtrme and legit show it all off?
      Girls need to value and honor themselves more. And then when society uses them as sex tools and objects they complain. Get your priorities straight ppl.

Even though I would never wear such revealing clothes.. BigLizMac I'm korean and it isn't really the standard. We can wear what we want to wear and I think forcing someone to wear something is just stupid... Probably, the reason why the girl didn't say anything is because she wants her boyfriend to 'protect' her.(I honestly don't understand her though) but I don't want to have a boyfriend like that because the way he protects his girlfriend is just stupid.

    I don't understand why wearing more "revealing" clothes or showing cleavage is immediately perceived as trying to look sexy or wanting to attract sexual attention. Women oftentimes don't wear short skirts so men would find them sexually appealing but because it's either hot outside, they personally like that style/trend or they want to express themselves and their take on fashion (and many other reasons). Men, please stop policing women's bodies and what women decide to wear regardless or their relationship to you. We don't wear mini skirts for your personal enjoyment but because we feel good wearing it.

      +山と
      1) Skirts make sense because they look good. I wear them because they look cute. They come in all shapes and sizes and they don't cling to your crotch so they're comfortable. I might wear smaller shorts underneath but I usually don't have issues with wind. Just don't wear them on a windy day and hold them down if the wind happens to blow a little on a normal day.
      2) If there was no one else in the world I would definitely still wear makeup. Makeup is art. I think people who enjoy makeup will continue to wear it because it's fun to use, you can try out a lot of different combinations and it brings out the best in your face. I don't even wear makeup a lot because I don't really have a lot of blemishes/dark circles/things to hide. I just started wearing it because I thought it looked good and it made me happy to try out new styles. Sometimes when I'm just alone at home I'll do my makeup (and feel damn good) and I know a lot of people who do that too.
      3) I don't think a small number of people dress for themselves. I think *a lot* of people dress for themselves, especially fashionistas. Shit, fashion lovers would probably prefer to wear clothes without having people to show it to, since there would be no one to complain and bash them for being unique/to sexy/etc.
      I just think you're not a fashion person so it just doesn't make sense to you that people would dress up for their own sakes. I personally love a nice outfit. If my hair is done well, my makeup is on point, and I'm wearing a bomb ass outfit, I'm feeling *good*. Some people might spoil the mood a little with their stares/cat-calling, but ultimately I dress for me.

      Some people like to wear sexy, others don't. There are plenty on both sides. I think obligating someone to wear sexy clothes or to not be able to wear them are both bad things. People dress however they want.

    • @EmiIy7662
      @EmiIy7662 7 лет назад +35

      I do believe some European countries are that way, not repressed, open in terms of sexuality, not being dressed slutty,... I can only tell you that where I live (Belgium) you rarely see people walking around half naked/slutty/inappropriate but we are still very verbal about sex and sexuality without it being too much (unless when you're with friends, but that doesn't matter). But then again, 'inappropriate' is something subjective.

    Except for the first one, none of those are trending. Lady Gaga's show wear is unique but not trending. Yes, cleveage showing is a thing and you will find people whose cleveage goes past their breast, but not the under side.
    Americans are exceptionally chill when it comes to clothing. People wear Crocs often on the street, as well as those five toe slotted shoes when doing sports.
    Seriously, people walking bare foot in Berkeley and San Francisco are more of a trend...

      I know they're talking about high-fashion. But I feel like it would've been funnier if they showed what average Americans wear on a daily basis. If we're just talking about going to the grocery store then it's totally different for Westerners vs Koreans. Westerners can actually walk out of their house in their pajamas or a gross stained shirt, but will stare at you if you want to dress nicely. But in Korea it's the opposite. You're expected to put on nice clothes and do your makeup no matter where you're going and you'll be judged pretty harshly if you just wear sweats.

      I think the same thing. I saw the pictures and thought "what the heck". If one judges all of Americans by what you see in tbe media and trends that surface , no wonder they think we are bizarre. In reality most Americans are not going to wear this type of crazy trends. I for one wish that modesty would come back into fashion.

    In terms of fashion, I think Westerners are better at being creative whereas Asians try to innovate and improve on the current trends. I tend to find Asians better at presenting themselves than Americans (at award shows, on the street, at work etc.) simply because Asians try not to be too extra with fashion and try to balance minimalism with unique.

    I'm seeing an increasing (disturbing) amount of people who are commenting that people (by that they mean women) should wear what they want... but the next comment in the chain then condemns men who have their underwear showing out of the back of their pants, calling them irresponsible and saying it shows they cant hold a job.... bit of a double standard.
    Even if you say things like "people should dress how they want" or "men can show their chest but women can't," in reality, everyone judges people on how they dress. If you see someone at work half nude or with their underwear showing, wouldnt you think: "He or she really should not dress like that here."
    Please think of how you yourself judge others on how they dress, (and be honest, we all do it) before condemning people for having opinions on what others
