South Koreans fashion is just Neat & fashionable, and sometimes a dash of quirky. Nothing too unique, crazy or original. They're well aware & put heavy importance on proportions, that's why they're obsessed with having small face. They want to present this proper sleek look, and they all follow the same trend. So it's boring for the most part and they wear similar shit but regardless they still look Good!
I know haha, I was in South Korea a couple weeks back, and honestly you could put all the young people in the streets into one room, and no one would be mismatched, because they all wear the exact same clothing. But hey, I guess that's just a part of being young and impressionable, and honestly it makes the aesthetic of the cities quite minimalist and relaxing so I appreciate it hahaha. Where I live in Sydney, you don't really see that with girls, but definitely guys with a unique sense of fashion are pretty rare. They all tend to wear the same style and colours, so it's not just a korean thing.
When it comes to fashion i like the Japanese mentality more, having your own unique style instead of following a trend... although Koreans do tend to look really good, i don't like the whole following the latest fashion and everyone dressing and looking the same

Harajuku? It used to be. These days, however, young people who lead Harajuku admire the fashion of Korea and follow the fashion, make-up and new trends in Korea. This is what I saw in social media and the Japanese official news recently. Why do people who like Japan always compare Korea to Japan like "Japan' is better than Korea's blah blah"? Just because Koreans are trendy doesn't mean they lack their own individuality. They are just more outgoing and have a move to explore more new things.
I notice that in Korea there seems to be a general thinking of "this *exact* thing is what's beautiful". Like, there can't be a range of what's beautiful, there has to be an exact definition, like the ankle length thing for example. or only this *exact* proportion is pretty. only this type of eye with this type of nose and chin is pretty. only this type of style is fashionable and there's no in between. It's either right or wrong. ugly or pretty, skinny or fat. there doesn't seem to be much gray area. I've been seeing the men's too short ankle thing with no socks for a while on some of the Korean shows I watch, and it's not that cute. It doesn't look enough "on purpose", it just looks like they didn't buy the right length pant, and not many people pull it off. I usually see it when they refer to the "boyfriend look" or date look. I mostly don't like it because I don't like seeing the no sock thing-- It just makes me think of wet, sweaty, stinky feet. blech. Gives me the shivers just thinking about it. Wearing shoes with no socks just makes the bacteria build up and create smells. To each his own though. I'm glad I have the freedom to wear what I like without much in your face judgment. In America, if they think it's ugly or inappropriate, they won't say anything because most don't care about what you're wearing anyway and it's like "whatever" to them. People still judge you for what you wear, but most likely they won't be in your face or vocal about it. At least not where I live. You're allowed to have your own personal style without being bothered. One last random thing, I actually think the men's fashion on Asian tv is more on point than the women lately. The Chinese and Korean shows I've seen have had some great men's fashion. There's a lot of variety and color without looking crazy, and the guys always look so sharp and clean and fashionable.
I don't really chase trends but instead wear what I think is pretty and suits my body type the best. I mean, if I find something I like in those trends I incorporate. The key is being confident in yourself and people have complemented me so much on my fashion style

That's definitely one of the best things about the US. My country isn't as strict as Korea but it's still not like the US where you can go to a store in a stained t shirt and sweatpants and no one will care in the slightest.

They're well aware & put heavy importance on proportions, that's why they're obsessed with having small face. They want to present this proper sleek look, and they all follow the same trend. So it's boring for the most part and they wear similar shit but regardless they still look Good!
I know haha, I was in South Korea a couple weeks back, and honestly you could put all the young people in the streets into one room, and no one would be mismatched, because they all wear the exact same clothing. But hey, I guess that's just a part of being young and impressionable, and honestly it makes the aesthetic of the cities quite minimalist and relaxing so I appreciate it hahaha.
Where I live in Sydney, you don't really see that with girls, but definitely guys with a unique sense of fashion are pretty rare. They all tend to wear the same style and colours, so it's not just a korean thing.
Well not everyone can pull off full rick Owens or margiella. It's easy to just stay on minimal and some edginess.

This is what I saw in social media and the Japanese official news recently. Why do people who like Japan always compare Korea to Japan like "Japan' is better than Korea's blah blah"? Just because Koreans are trendy doesn't mean they lack their own individuality. They are just more outgoing and have a move to explore more new things.

I notice that in Korea there seems to be a general thinking of "this *exact* thing is what's beautiful". Like, there can't be a range of what's beautiful, there has to be an exact definition, like the ankle length thing for example. or only this *exact* proportion is pretty. only this type of eye with this type of nose and chin is pretty. only this type of style is fashionable and there's no in between. It's either right or wrong. ugly or pretty, skinny or fat. there doesn't seem to be much gray area. I've been seeing the men's too short ankle thing with no socks for a while on some of the Korean shows I watch, and it's not that cute. It doesn't look enough "on purpose", it just looks like they didn't buy the right length pant, and not many people pull it off. I usually see it when they refer to the "boyfriend look" or date look. I mostly don't like it because I don't like seeing the no sock thing-- It just makes me think of wet, sweaty, stinky feet. blech. Gives me the shivers just thinking about it. Wearing shoes with no socks just makes the bacteria build up and create smells. To each his own though. I'm glad I have the freedom to wear what I like without much in your face judgment. In America, if they think it's ugly or inappropriate, they won't say anything because most don't care about what you're wearing anyway and it's like "whatever" to them. People still judge you for what you wear, but most likely they won't be in your face or vocal about it. At least not where I live. You're allowed to have your own personal style without being bothered. One last random thing, I actually think the men's fashion on Asian tv is more on point than the women lately. The Chinese and Korean shows I've seen have had some great men's fashion. There's a lot of variety and color without looking crazy, and the guys always look so sharp and clean and fashionable.

I don't really chase trends but instead wear what I think is pretty and suits my body type the best. I mean, if I find something I like in those trends I incorporate. The key is being confident in yourself and people have complemented me so much on my fashion style

Other girls out on the streets were just wearing long skirts.
That's definitely one of the best things about the US. My country isn't as strict as Korea but it's still not like the US where you can go to a store in a stained t shirt and sweatpants and no one will care in the slightest.
