I believe grubby is learning the most he can by playing every hero. I myself back in 'classic' dota I played against AI with every hero too before trying multiplayer. I must say it really helped since I took my time to see all spells and figuring out the items, but now with all the info around, just getting into online against other people should be much better! Also by watching this series is making me wanna play it again, which I didn't feel like for years. Thx grubby!

please, just eat tangos when you've lost hp and rebuy regen :D most of the early game you're running around with less than 50% hp. In wc3 it's alright to be low hp but in dota it's a free invite for your opponent to aggro you.

  • @XSFlanger
    @XSFlanger 2 года назад +13

I've watched your DOTA2 games (enjoying the series a lot btw) and have noticed small mistakes that constantly cost you gold, when you're dealing with creeps on lane alone:
    1. You never engage ranged creep, while melee creeps are killing each other. Ranged creeps yield more gold and they die much faster. Also there is zero chance to miss last hit, as melees are busy punching each other. Reliable gold income missed here.
    2. You deny your creeps when there is no enemy hero around and creeps are killing each other. That's a waste of time and gold, having less friendly creeps minimizes risk of missing last hit.
    3. Siege machines yield even more gold, so try to have them in priority when possible.

    • @XSFlanger
      @XSFlanger 2 года назад

@@Test-mq8ih If you watch the games, we're talking about very last denying hit, when friendly creep will die from hostile creep within one or two blows anyway. There is no "grave difference", just time wasted. You might deny creeps once the skirmish is over and 1-2 friendly creeps are left with low HP, so they don't drag lane ahead.
But you're right about my skill, I don't even have DOTA installed :)

I feel like the biggest issue is map awareness. Your team often fights near you, and you miss it. As a tip, try to listen to game sounds. If you hear a bunch of spells being cast - something is happening, so you might need to join.

@@LBL_Edzer He doesn't have low map awareness. He used to be good in SCII too, where map awarness might(!) even be more important as the game is faster.
He just isn't used to the game and needs to focus more on his own hero. Map awareness is a skill you develop over time because you start doing the basic stuff like last hitting on "auto-mode".

    • @LBL_Edzer

@@MagicRabbit that's what I'm sayin, it feels different so he didn't know that a bunch of icons in minimap grouped together with skill and ult sounds means there's a teamfight going on = low map awareness in Dota 2. I didn't mean low in general sorry if I'm not clear about it.

I've noticed in some of the previous videos that you were still farming when your team is already fighting or pushing. Each hero has their "timings" on when to keep farming or gaining levels and when to start fighting people and running at them.

in case you have not learned this yet, reliable gold is gold that cannot be lost on death, it is mainly gained by killing heroes though there are a few other ways to get it while unreliable gold can be lost on death and the most common way of getting it is just farming.
most of the gold you will be getting as a core(think position 1 to 3) will be unreliable gold so dying is even more punishing for those.

Grubby is a masochist confirmed. There's lot of anti fun in dota, so you're welcome for a hell of rides
Bounty Hunter can be a very versatile hero. Nowadays there 2 builds, first one is your build. Spamming his Q (shuriken toss) with aghanim build + spell caster item
2nd one is becoming a hitter/auto-attacker because his 2nd (jinada) skill is scaling with your atk. And with track skill, you can keep chasing enemies
there's also another old build that becomes an aura carrier. basically, because his stat is tanky, he can buy all aura items and provide buff for teammate

Part of the problem is people can take games way to serious. They are games, they are make believe, you are playing as a different character. As long as you arent being personal and if its obvious you are starting to get to someone then there is no harm done. The issue is people getting bent out of shape so easily because they haven't been introduced in the culture of not taking everything so personal and getting angry from it.

    • @winns35

@@Test-mq8ih it's a lot people who have never been involved in sports and what sportsmanship is like. While you're in the game you can hate each other with a passion it can seem sometimes. But in the end you shake hands and have respect for the other person for even stepping on the field or court with you even if you beat them badly. Maybe they weren't near as skilled as you but they had to guts to get out there. Sometimes that spirit can turn into a rivalry and lead to some real animosity but almost always it's still alright with you in the end after it's all said and done.

Getting better in areas, but map awareness and the importance of helping out friendly heroes who are fighting near you is still abysmal. New low was shopping during a team fight. Semi funny, semi facepalm moment. Some of those fights were clearly initiated by your teammates, because they saw you near and assumed you'd be there to help, like 95% of people playing dota, so you damage your team in two ways with lack of map awareness. You make them take fights they shouldn't, based on your proximity and you make them lose fights they should win if you joined in, or let enemies that could have been killed get away by not helping out.
Until you improve your map awareness, I think it would help your team not take as many risks, to let them know that you are new and for them not to expect you to notice fights nearby, not to count on you to always jump in those.
There are always directional sounds of fighting when heroes are clashing nearby.

Please try to focus more on last hits.
50-70 every 10 mins? (You do play well btw)
It's refreshing to watch your gameplay Mr. Grubby.
Looking forward to see you play Zeus. GLHF.

Bro your twitch chat telling you to buy nonsense, hood of defiance not going to help you. Bro you could one shot someone before they could even do significant damage to you. Desolator was the item you needed here + Black king bar. Grubby, your twitch chat spoiling this experience for me. Please stop doing what they tell you, listen to dendi instead or just trust your instincts. 😒

@@Test-mq8ih thats where you are wrong, a simple wand and some intuitive thinking could help deal with that "shitton of magic damage" problem. Spells have cooldowns, this isn't wtf mode dota where you could just spam spells with out repercussions.
While there are carries who need to sit in lane and jungle alllllll day for gold and impactful items like antimage or phantom assassin, bounty hunter, is the opposite. Why? Because he can accumulate gold with his ultimate spell track.
Jinada plus desolator would destroy anything on that team in the early game, why is this so? Because minus armor is busted in the early game. Plus he would have an insane kill streak. Grubby could then utilize this kill streak momentum of gold to get black king bar which renders him magic immunity for a duration. He could rush black king bar first too because all of his spells contributes to damage output then desolator after.
If you don't understand something so simple, then YOU are the noob. Noobs like to beat around the bush, pros get to the point.

@@Test-mq8ih btw i would also like to mention that when you earn a kill streak you get levels ahead of your enemies, which gives stats.

I think this game could be win if instead of aether you go for bkb. Enemy heroes had only magic damage and you would be immortal

you never see bounty hunter in tournament play, always questionable if he can make an impact. if everything goes well your team has a lot of extra bounty money and can snowball hard. If things go wrong bh cant do much most of the time.
