OD is one of my favorites, aghs would have been a good item here. It allows you to astral so much that you keep enemies out of the fight for a lot of time.
This was something back in the old days of WC3 Dota but a lot of my friends like heroes with Orbs specifically because it made it easy to harass and chase with an orb skill like by manually clicking the orb to attack, this prevents unit aggro and animation cancels the attack backswing letting you stutter step forward. It pretty much-required skill on OD, Viper, and Drow.
The intuition Grubby has for this game is actually insane to see. Very impressive watching the meepo mid vs huskar and getting first blood with a dazzle there to grave him. You love to see it.
I think there was a weird times where "Obsidian destroyer" (how he was calles in dota 1) build like 6 aghanim scepter, which at the time were like late game null talisman that gave you good stats but specially int and mana, also the damage of his ult and q were based on int, not mana, and had some weird prime number multipliers in his ult because of it
I remember his ult being based on int but his q as far as I remember always did damage based on his current mana pool. I just loaded up one of the first maps that OD was in and sure enough q deals damage based on 6/7/8/9% of current mana.
They've reworked this hero so many times haha. He's had all kinds of crazy stuff like an AOE arcane orb, Essence Flux as an aura that works for teammates, there were times where he stole intelligence like Silencer, and changing his name slightly every year seems to be a meme in Valve, he's been Outland Devourer, Outworld Devourer, Obsidian Destroyer, he's always been OD but he always seems to have a different name. Definitely the most volatile hero as far as patches go.
Early game was a nightmare to watch, of course invoker's going to deny all the runes if you wait minutes to acknowledge that they spawned. Most people who play mid don't completely ignore the rune spawns like that, early game was painful to watch but once the rotations happened things got good, and then chat tricked him into getting aeon disk over linkens. Even blademail would've made the nyx instantly kill himself and effectively be a second bkb because he's not going to want to reflect that much damage back onto himself
Hurricane Pike would be better than Aeon Disk. Attack range would help you contribute around Chrono, Force would also help save against their stuns (and mobility for Bat when he drags someone back). Its offensive traits help you snowball, and using Hurricane on Void might even help you turn a fight with the massive attack speed buff (instead of you getting bashed helplessly). Aeon Disk is mostly bought by supports that have to throw a disabling spell to contribute. Think of Disruptor with his ult, or Enigma. The damage they deal late game is inconsequential in compaeison to their disables, so the drawback of Aeon Disk is minimal.
Some OD tips: - Arcane Orb does damage in TWO instances. Once for your auto attack, once for the arcane orb effect. This means, you'll actually burn through some "hit counter" based abilities twice as fast (like Templar Assassin's shield). The orb damage is dealt first. - while prison makes you immune to damage, heals will keep working while you are imprisoned. In the early game, you can even pop a potion and bubble yourself for a little extra healing duration. - Sanity's Eclipse pierces enemies in Astral Imprisonment. bubble them and then ult to bump up your damage even more
From my POV from all the videos so far, you're (Grubby) probably going to get guardian or crusader rank, your micro skills is definitely top-notch and is a useful tool to have when playing specific heroes the higher your rank goes, the speed in which you learn the game is pretty good also. Now on the things I'd like to point out though that (I believe) you should improve : Camera Placement, your camera placement can get a little bit awkward when you're just starting out but it's really good to be able to see both yourself and your target(enemy hero) at the same time whenever it's possible. Map/Item awareness and utilizing your tp scrolls. Things such as "game sense", and game knowledge will always improve over time the more you play and you will get stronger as a player (just like a Saiyan). And one more thing to add, don't be afraid to try and push the limits of your hero, that's the best way to find out how strong the hero is such as finding about its item and level timings and even your win condition, its weaknesses and counters are also exposed as you do.
That tp after getting a kill to immediately push the mid tower with a catapult was a real top tier play!! Grubby is really catching up fast. Not having the urge to fight but to do what is correct, hats off!! looking forward to many more great games in the future!! Keep destroying dota stereotypes like "Outworld devourer"😆😀😀😀
another awesome vid! thoiugh at 7:00 i about peed myself when he refered to od as outhouse destroyer. now when i think of od i wonder, "wtf did he eat? taco bell?" :D
when you are asserting dominance mid and standing on his high ground - remember to press alt to show the tower range. You keep taking needless tower hits -also you need to try to get as many Q hits on him as possible before using ult to build up the mana gap.
In the earlier yrs. Astral inprisonment steals int max lvl +4 or 3 if i remember you can spam it to the enemy hero so they have no int and no mana. It can be also used to deny the exp of the enemy if your creep is dying. 1 of the op heroes watch miracle 1v5 them with od rampage
Try not to w and instant ult it means you dont steal any mana better hit till they about to response then w to disrupt or even save yourself from chrono. Aghanim is really good this game since you can save 2 person in chrono or continuosly prison someone for 8 sec imagine enemy team has no void in fight for 8 sec. Even shard is pretty good against chrono it allows you to move in chrono aka get out of chrono. aeon disc is good late game but due to your game your are really much more farm than void you can kill him instant with orchid or hex or just right click and blink dodge chrono. Upgrading witch blade also good against bkb cuz its pierce through. Situational item also can be eul which give you more mana regen and movespd also little int and ability to disrupt or escape even save your teammates. Almost forgot to mentioned abt hurricane pike which give you free 4 hits from a safety spot
i am sure u dont need to hear this from a random person but let me tell ypu (jsut for reference 12k hours* in the game) no matter hwat rank, you are alrdy "very good" for what time u spend and there is to learn, u are doing amazing. sure some heros arre not your thing and soemtimes we take a qrong term in our evalutions but thats perfektly fine. keep it up like this and u will be immortal next year or 1,5
I'm exhilarated to know that my youth idol started playing Dota! You're doing magnificent, Grubby! That being said, I can't help but admire how you deal with your chat. I watch your Twitch on a regular basis and sometimes the cringe, tilt and backseating there are unbearable. It's often that I must simply turn off your Twitch because I get tilted by some of your fans. I dare say that you'd be much better off if you had a permanent coach instead of a bunch of dudes typing nonsense every time you make a move. To say nothing of the tilting emoji used in the chat in the most inadequate circumstances, like: no ulti every time you die or passive this or that. Anyway, thank you again for playing this fantastic game and don't lose your eagerness to play. Your brain is so big! :D
That ult used to do damage based on int difference, not mana. So you didn't need to have mana pool full to do do lot's of damage, and just getting non int mana increasing items didn't help you or the enemy.
@@deathonion404 Then the description is at fault, since it says based on your mana, not maximum mana. That is an inaccuracy. Especially since most staff taht's based on max mana actually states as such.
At this point its quite obvious that grubby will reach MMR dota in a short amount of time. Unlike most dota players he has insane micro skills which allows him to play any hero in the game. Keep up the good work.
You need to grow some balls and take some risks while playing with od. I mean everytime you get caught in the chrono and with the bkb also. Make a force staff into a dragonlance. It will help you with your range. Witch's blade is ok but have you considered bloodstone. This is one of the best characters to build bloodstone one. You can literally three shot faceless void with od. Also use your ulti at the starting of the fight. It burns the enemy's manapool.
its amazing to me how many top people coached him how to play and nothing sticks to him xD, hes forgets everything, like a rock in water, absorbs no knowledge xD, poor Grubby, best part was Grubby vs bots , calm colected, keeps creeps outside tower, Grubby vs Invoker, trololol pull creeps in tower twice, fucking top keks.
okay now grubby is starting to sound like a typical dota player, trying to throw your weight here and there... old grubby wouldve self reflected more and see what have he done right and wrong instead of calling out on X heroes not farming well enough while being THE win condition himself for the game, he wouldve always try to improve. bad mentality for learning the game imo
yeah, another win condition is rosh, another is getting their BBs. there can be a few depending on the situation get it? but grubby specifically is the only one capable of saving whoever is in chrono, what is luna going to do about that?
"I need to not be in Chrono"
-Every Dota 2 player playing against a Faceless Void
Also every Dota 2 player playing in the same team with Faceless Void
And then there's Rubic, who just don't care.
"YOU 13 MANA BOI!" - Puppey when he plays OD!
Grubby's first rampage 😭 I'm so proud of him
got a rampage and then stuck on a cliff, that's a certified grubteezy moment
OD is one of my favorites, aghs would have been a good item here. It allows you to astral so much that you keep enemies out of the fight for a lot of time.
42:39 rampage start
43:40 rampage end
invoker outplayed himself

wow that is a very old version of dota i believe, the Aghs Scepter requires Mystic Staff and Soul Booster right?
I don't remember how it was built that, it probably is.

+30 int, +500 mana... and it didn't even upgrade any skills of his, it was simply bought for raw stats.
@@arrandale6859 Yes it did
Grubby: "Always carry 2 tp"
My brain : yeap... always need to have back up toilet paper
The aeon disk realization got me laughing

The first hero I played in dota😍
Me too!
grubby leaves the boots at int but if he left it at strength there are at least 2 situations where he died but would have lived.

well played rampage bro, legend
Sometimes in late games they go for refresher so they can double ulti istant wipe of enemy.
Just realized "Warcraft III" is faster to say than "WC3"
"OutHouse Decorator"

Saying "double U see three" is actually longer than sayin "Warcraft Three" :D
Pure damage is NOT chaos damage. Chaos damage is a physical damage type and as such affected by armor.
GG first Rampage well done!!!

Nice blink dagger use this game. A bit too agressive focusing of the most tanky enemy (centaur) though. You were like 3 shotting everyone else.

banning and picking/counterpicking is extremely important
This been the first time to play AI first before actual? Thats why hes poppin'. But regard;ess damn, Grubby learning so fast....
When I was new to the game, I liked OD because of Mushi. One of the OG's of SEA Dota
wait...they change the name again to destroyer?
OD is very much a mid game snowball hero.
If the game goes late it can be hard to make an impact because he can't do anything to someone with bkb.
?????💀💀
Hey grubby are you uploading these all in alphabetical order? I notice you haven't uploaded lich yet, maybe too similar to the wc3 one?
