I have a Gravely pro turn zx 52 sit down mower. Mine the HOC is exactly 1/4 inch lower than what the mower says. Overall though I like it alot. I get perfect cut quality out of it and no issues. My oldest Gravely is 15 years old and still stripes and runs like a champ. My old one is a homeowner model so it doesn't do as well as my commercial one but still very reliable.
I have a Gravely zeroturn which is a commercial grade mower. I totally agree the deck height adjustment and accurate is awful. My yard went dormant because of my height cut and it took me 3 tries to get it right. My resident Hustler zeroturn deck height was more accurate. I did my own test, Hustler at 4.5, and Gravely at 4.5. The Gravely cut more like 2.5 when set at 4.5, that can be a nightmare for TTTF in the Summer.
I think the way the front top panels scope up towards the back and the tower is slim looking. I think it looks sporty.
A little additional info about the OPC being in the handle and not the platform. Gravely is one of the only companies that you can operate the machine with the foot pan flipped up. This machine can function as a walk behind as well. This is especially helpful when dealing with hills...
I get having the deadman's switch in the handle. If you're on a hill and need to walk the mower the platform can't serve at that switch
That foot pedal for the deck can be use to float the deck while mowing like u can do on a zero turn, i dont think ive seen that on any other stander
Can you get a hold of a Bradley Stand on mower? I have one and I would love to see what you thoughts are on it.
I'm a little sad to hear a lot of the lower scores on the Gravely, and I can't really argue with those opinions. but with the "soft" responsiveness of the hydraulics I'd have to respectfully disagree with the idea that it can be a downside. When you have new employees jumping on a stander for the first time, you can only train them so far if they've never used one before, and softer response to me equals much less chance of turn divets in the turf, and that is a huge deal. Even with someone who has used them a lot, as the day gets longer you get tired and maybe don't always focus on how well you control the machine, so softer responsiveness can be a saving grace with turns. Thanks again for the review, Pete, looking forward to the rest.
Great video I still haven’t been impressed with gravely cut quality just isn’t there yet
My commercial zeroturn ride bad over uneven grade turf, alot bouncing in the deck and the seat.
I can understand basic precautions, but it’s getting past the point where a majority of “safety” features are simply paranoid overkill. If you want to stay 100% safe, don’t use a mower.
agreed 100% friend!
Same gauge deck steel comparable on these units?
You were able to get the Z3X right, Pete?
Yes
Getting dropped at 8 am 3/3/24
@@Likethetacosauce thanks
I have a Gravely dealer a few miles from home that provides great dealer support. Just not too familiar with the brand
A like B4 watching the video.. now let's go
I wish price point was a part of this series. Very important to most companies along with all the other criteria the machines are being judged on.
Respectfully call your local dealer to get a price. Thats the simplest way to
@@GCITurfI think he means by scoring, like don’t get me wrong, the wright is awesome, but when it’s not on sale it’s like 15k or so vs this gravely is 10-11k. So I think he means to include price point as a scoring factor. But, at the same time you also pay more for the higher end mowers
@@BackedByFacts yep you hit the nail on the head that’s exactly what I meant. Basically “hey this is what you get for this amount of money, but for a few grand more this is what you get” or “hey these two mowers are comparable in price but this one has more options so it may be a better bang for your buck”
The quarter size clippings are better with a upgraded blades. I often double cut to slove that issues. #Myexperience
Awesome!
