    So you don't need to always use the paper tape with a ridge in the middle, apply mud and then embed the tape?

    Just heard you were in Leesburg. I'm in Tavares. I've got an interesting video idea for you. I had to break a hole in the surrounding of my garden tub to stop a leak. Now I have to figure out a way to patch it up but I want to keep it as an access panel should it ever spring another leak. Let me know if you're interested in helping.

    If I used all purpose primer(out of ignorance) on bare drywall do I need to sand it off before using the actual drywall primer/sealer?

    paint brushes are cheap compared to other building tools-I'm sure I get 10-30% more paint on and off of where it shouldn't be with a good Purdy brush-the blue brush material is great! I am tight-frugal but not cheap..Years ago I used some Wooster products but Purdy top of line are worth it to me.

    We are busy isolating an attic. Some pieces of drywall are 1cm short …we had nailed anyway. Nu we have a gap of 1cm. To the balk. Could we fill the gap with foam or with mud ?

    Hopefully not a dumb question, but I moved into this house a few years ago and whoever did the drywalling upstairs in the addition didn’t sand the drywall compound and painted over it. It looks horrible. Would it be worth the time to try to sand all that done even with paint on it or just remove that drywall and redo it?

      Снимать не нужно, ошкурить крупной шкуркой для адгезии, обработать пропиткой, нанести шпатлевку стартовую, опять ошкурить (выровнять бугры и впадины) нанести опять пропитку, нанести финишный слой, ошкурить, нанести пропитку . И все стена готова к покраске.

    Is the fiber glass tape preferable to the paper in today's world? I'm going to be making my first go of dry-walling soon, in a cabin we are building.

    • @1DASMOOVE
      @1DASMOOVE 10 месяцев назад +3

      Not for me I'm a paper kind of guy. It's been said that you should only use mesh tape with a fast setting compound ie quickset 5/20/45 etc

      @@HomeRenoVisionDIY Oftentimes a tear down and rebuild is cheaper and easier with a better result than a renovation but a DIYer (like me) just can’t wrap his mind around that.

    When do you use fine thread drywall screws?

    • @1DASMOOVE
      @1DASMOOVE 10 месяцев назад

      For me,... fine thread screws are useless, course are better for both wood and light Guage metal, of course anything 18 Guage and above require a self tapping screw... fine thread screws are quicker on metal so screwing can be done a bit faster

    • @billm.8220
      @billm.8220 10 месяцев назад

      Fine thread is when installing drywall on metal studs. For wood studs, use coarse thread.

    • @HomeRenoVisionDIY
      @HomeRenoVisionDIY  10 месяцев назад +1
