Thanks! I just pulled out a TroyBilt weed eater that has sit over 10 years. Got it freed up and running but won't idle so I'll have to clean the carb and your video makes it so much easier. I work on carbs for 4-stroke dirt bikes but this is my first small 2 cycle carb. Much appreciated!
Very satisfying. I've got a similar carb on my old Ryobi strimmer/hedge trimmer. I cleaned it up like you and bought the rebuild kit for £3.25 which was posted from China and took two weeks to reach the UK. It's running like new now complete with new reed valve and diaphragm. Thanks for the vid.
It’s always great knowing the truth and parts needed to fix it. Eliminating everything else. Taking away any guesswork. Hopefully it’s just a simple replacement and like new again. I bought the more expensive one to eliminate this problem but obviously it doesn’t matter. They are just made cheaper and basically made to brake. I’m going to order one from Amazon to so if it happens again I’ll have it. Oh well, can’t win no matter what you do!
Thanks for the video sir! Trouble shooting an old string trimmer not hitting the high note. Would it be ok to use throttle body cleaner instead of carb cleaner? To my understanding they're basically the same...
I would like to tell you my friend I really like this video and the one that you made before this 1. You are doing a great job you have a knack for this. You are an intelligent being. You are a very good teacher. I really have nothing but good things to say about you and your videos. Just thought I would give my opinion don't know if it matters But thought I would give it anyways.
Hi I have a weed eater that been sitting and the gas gum the carb Where the needle is stuck is it more realistic to clean or get those China carbs from amazon
Hi I have a tillotson carb on my trench wacker the problem is when I open throttle it doesn't rev to start wacking. Open choke it wacks. It is a fixed jet carb so no screws to adjust only one on throttle linkage. What could be the problem.
Then you are not getting enough fuel. You may want to check that your metering lever is connected and is adjusted properly. I don't have a video on this but you may want to check out some. Here is one... I haven't watched much of it but check around the 11 minute mark for help. ruclips.net/video/ux8wM1mrjkY/видео.html Let us know how you work it out.
It is pointed out in the video. It is a small plastic stamped sheet that allows fuel to flow (or not) in the carburetor thru the various ports. Sometimes they can bend out of shape or break. You can get a new one in a carburetor kit. You can also probably google it and see a picture of one.
I never thought to take out the adjustment screws to shoot cleaner in there. Thank you! I think that should solve my problem
I am glad you show the types of problems and solutions of fixing them.

Good for you and glad I could help
Great video you speak real clearly and describe what you're doing.

It’s nice you have some free stuffs to pick up as project.
very precise, enjoyed watching now off to do my strimmer. What carb cleaner do you find best?? everything is so expensive now.
Just found your channel and it very good
Good Job, I always learn something,

Thanks for the through explanation.
Is this a Walbro carb? Great video. Thank you.

I would clean it and make sure the diaphragm is not stiff also. It should be rubbery and flexible in the middle.
Is the rpm dependent on the displacement of the engine? I have a Ryobi ry09446 blower and can't seem to find what the max RPM should be. Thanks
Thanks for that through explanation.
You bet!
Wonderful. Thank you.
Muy bueno el video. Muchas gracias amigo. Amén
You are welcome
great find
The reed valve is between the carb and the engine intake. Those diaphragm flaps control fuel flow inside carb. Other than that great video.
Cool video, no need to buy a crappy 3rd party carb for my Stihl! thanks

The needle valve fork has a nub to lock the spring. Nub is up, corredt?
the dimple part of the nub fits into the top of the spring to hold it in place. The concave side should face up and not be touching the spring.
My evo2x scooter keeps Turing off I have taken the carb apart but I’m going to do it a gain
Again 😂
I knew 2 stroke motorcycles have reed valve did not know weed eater 2 cycle engine had one 🤔
What causes to much gas in to engine.
With a carburetor like this it could be a bad reed valve or something keeping the needle valve from closing completely.
@@helpinguonline Thanks you sir what is Reed valve.
