Six years ago, I bought a 2007 3 Liter. It is hands down the best car I've ever owned, and I'm 76 yrs old and have owned a ton of cars. The car is a daily driver, very reliable, and a dream to drive. It still gets looks everywhere I go and lots of comments.
Tomorrow is my last exam for a driver lisence. I always wanted to drive crossover but when i saw this Jaguar I fell in love. Engine so quite, leather seats, and classy look. It something special and sophisticated. Now Im considering to get Type S 2004, it will cost around 5000$, hopefully it turns out a good purchase. Thank you for a video!
I've just bought a 1999 3.0 V6 Sport with a manual box for £650 (needs a bit of work but nothing major) and I absolutely love it. Such a great car. Great video!
I’ve just bought a 2005, high mileage, 2.7D V6 207 bhp with £800, in perfect working order. I’ve only owned diesels in my life, I would like to drive a petrol one, but I’m a Romanian, born in the country side, so I just love tractors. This Jag it’s just so much different than other cars of the era, it’s a dream driving it and I’m happy I had the chance and privilege of owning such a car. Your video describes in the best words possible how I feel. Good job buddy! 👍
My next car for sure... still enjoying my Mondeo Ghia x 2.0 aut (2006) it took me 4 months to find the perfect Mondeo. When the moment arrives I’ll spend the necessary time to find this Jag but, it will has to be in Green Racing colour and beige leather... 😅 Thanks for this video!
Always rather liked them, but they don’t often come up for sale here in Jersey. To import one from the UK would mean paying an additional £6000 vehicle emissions duty as they all put out over 200g CO2 per km. A complete pain as it makes a lot of cheap, decent cars not financially viable to import.
Please stop saying GUYS !!!!! I'm a woman and a Jaguar owner of several Jaguars, have owned many in the last 22 years, and one of my current Jaguars is a 1999 S type, like the one in your video, So plenty of women are buying and driving Jaguars, your narration is not inclusive of women, lift your game...🤔
Hi it depends upon your choice the XJ is the flagship while the S type is it's mid range sibling. The V8 is an amazing engine but thirsty! So you need deep pockets. Thanks for watching.

“Drives nothing like a ford” Yeah because any falcon would walk an s type in performance and keep up in comfort to lol. Would like to compare an s type r to an xr8 from the same period would be a good comparison
The Lincoln LS and Thunderbird of similar time (both Ford USA products) are on the same platform and the T-Bird uses the same engine but in the UK, we don't have the emissions controls that the USA does so ours usually produce more power and speed - the Falcon is a different animal, no point in comparisons. That said you mention the XR8 which i think was a Ford South Africa thing and the Falcon sold there was very different to the UK Granada that was similar in bodyshell but didn't get the V8 under the bonnet/hood.

You’re exactly right. The car is the best kept secret. Such an under appreciated vehicle

Just think how long they're going to last in Jersey - low speeds, no road salt just for starters. A good one would last you decades.
Jaguar S Type Is One Of My Favorite Car..👍🇮🇩
nice review but next time consider taking it to a quiet car park or dead end street so busy traffic won't distract from your review.
Hi, I am thinking of getting one myself. What are they like on fuel consumption?
Hi they're not too bad around 22 mpg local town driving.
I am getting one at the end of the month for 1000 its beautiful i have to wait til the owner gets another one hes going for diesel this time
Mine does 30mpg if you just cruise about
Please stop saying guys..
Exactly 💯, I'm a woman and a Jaguar enthusiast, I have a 1999 model, so using the term "guys" in the narrative is ridiculous
@@gewfoneAcross the pond they say 'folks' ...

I can confirm this lol. My classic cat eats my wallet.
2000 4.0 L V8 80,000 km blasts off. It's the number of smiles per mile.
Nice Jags and made by Ford ,even better :)

Petrol or diesel ?
Petrol. Diesels don't rev to 6300 so different rev counter. I know they made a 2.7l diesel, not sure if they made a 3l one.
