- A full comprehensive look at the modern era of Doctor Who, coving all the episodes from Rose to Legend of the Sea Devils,I adore this show and this video has taken a couple of months but I've loved working on it and I hope people enjoy watching it.

Hi, Samantha! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video! It is so great to hear all your opinions! I'm a little confused as to where Power of the Doctor goes. Is it (1) directly between The Girl Who Waited and Twice Upon a Time, meaning that your list has shifted substantially, or (2) has your list not changed that much, and is it between Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead and Heaven Sent/Hell Bent. If (2) is true, why does Power of the Doctor (now in 14th place) have a 9/10 but Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead (now in 15th place) have a 9.5/10? Thanks again!

Series ten is just wonderful. That two part ending was stunning. As for the dramatic shift from the superb season 10 to the abysmal 11 is one of the biggest jolts in DW history. Season 12 at least we knew that as long as Chib's held the reigns the overall t'would be crap. The only Whitaker story I treally liked was 'Eve of the Daleks.' Would love to know what you think of the recent Ncuti era. Will you being making a video on that? All the best.
Completely agree, and it's such a shame as I've always wanted a female Doctor, but these are the stories she was given! I like a few in her era as you can see but most of it was a true mess :( and yes I'm definitely gonna do a video on Ncuti's season (and the Anniversary stuff) just might be a while before I do as I don't want recency bias to cloud my judgement, but atm I'm honestly quite positive on series 14, except for 1 specific story haha
This deserves so many more views than it currently has.
I’ll be the first to admit being one of those people who’s hated on Angels Take Manhattan because of the Liberty deal. I’ll have to rewatch it with your explanation in mind and see if I like it more.

2:26:44 literally my only complaint with this story is that the episodes should’ve been called “Truth” and “Consequences”, especially since these are the two ideas explored in their respective episodes (first episode explores the truth behind the Zygons, the truth behind the osgood boxes, the truth of who the Zygons really are, while the second episode really explores the consequences of the rebel’s actions and the consequences of war in general)

Definitely an interesting set of rankings, but I like how varied it is, shocked to see Hell Bent so low though! Haha
@@samanthareviews1963 Hell Bent has always been an episode I’ve struggled with. I think it’s because I was expecting the story to go in a direction that was different to the one we got.

Good list. I agree with most of it so far. But I just HAD to stop it to talk about deep breath...
The doctor has at this point regenerated 3 times, and this is the second time we see him regenerate with someone there. Calling Clara's arc "padding" is absolutely ridiculous to me. Not only is it completely different to how Rose reacted and therefore hasn't been seen "loads of times" or even once (no idea why you said that) but it also sets up one of the best scenes in the entire revival. It's the only time I've ever properly seen the doctor as one singular entity, and it's super trippy in a brilliant way that you can see every single past incarnation in his eyes in that moment.
You also kind of just didn't bother talking about the rest of the episode, which I thought was strange. The paternoster gang are great here, helping to fix the doctor and Clara's friendship, and the scene where vastra has her veil up... Perfection.
Not to mention the villain, who is creepy and super well written, putting the relationship of our current duo to the test with a lot of really tense and well written and shot moments.
It has to be 10/10 for me.
Well it was the 13th time, but still, and yeah it's different to how Rose reacted but that episode wasn't 75 minutes long, there's way too many moments in the episode (in my opinion) that feel unneeded, but I'm glad you liked it

I actually like Orphan 55 - don't get me wrong, it's terrible but I think it's pretty hilarious in a so-bad-its-good way. All of the side characters are just sooo bizarre and over the top. People talk about Benni but there's also the woman who becomes a terrorist randomly halfway through the story
Still a few worse than the timeless child (not many though) and yeah Orphan 55 is definitely great with some friends and drinks haha, it's just so bad
I really don't like how much hate the 13th Doctor's era gets and also fans of the era.
Because she sucks.

You know stuff is beginning to be consistently good when .5's come into the scoring. I find your scoring on the reboot series incredibly justifiable. How does one say they agree without looking smug. Oh well I agree and I must be smug.
Yeah, for the re-edits I'm doing in a couple of months I'm removing the 0.5s to keep consistancy with the classic era stuff but most of them ended up rounding up compared to down haha

-Dull exposition dumps
-The Doctor doing incredibly morally questionable things and not getting called out on it by ANYONE

-Some decent ideas buried beneath a labyrinth of shit dialogue and bad action scenes

There's a parody of typical chibnall episodes that released before the episode from Jay Exci and every criticism it makes is paralleled here, plus a few they missed...
Here's a better pitch:
Comedy episode because I have a feeling the next one's gonna be pretty dark and very heavy on lore and climactic showdowns, etc. Similar in tone to boom town. The doctor takes Yaz to an underwater resteraunt in primordial earth where the waiters are sea devils. Dan goes off while they eat weird alien looking food, saying he doesn't have the appetite for it, but really just doesn't want to third wheel. Then he ends up uncovering a massive conspiracy, and it all comes to a head when he barges in whole they're having an emotional chat while being chased by 10 sea devil's with those gun things.

Yep The Girl Who Lived and The Woman Who Died were garbage with some horrid characterisations, some very hammy acting by guest stars and embarrassing special effects.
Such a mess of what otherwise is a near perfect season, shame really
