But he uses (or used to use?) an inhibitor belt to keep his powers in check because they can go beyond his control. The age of apocalypse Iceman had fully released power levels. We shouldn't really look at Hollywood to judge how powerful a character is . Look for example , at Thor . He is seriously downgraded for action and suspense . In Days of Future Past Iceman could've reconstructed and regenerated himself .
I really like Shawn Ashmore's portrayal, I would only hope they would give him much much more to do, he's usually used as a love interest or something like that, but that's not really his fault.

iceman aka one of if not the most underrated xmen in the movie series. Bobby is an omega level mutant and has been shown to be able to affect the world on a global scale and he's pretty much indestructible ad he froze hell over once
