Pretty much especially when it comes to "well my character can beat your character" arguments come up. Like for example lets say Cyclops is vulnerable to electricity, then when Cyclops fights an electric shooting character who is gaining popularity then all of a sudden the writers will have Cyclops be invulnerable to electricity. They do this crap with characters like Thor, Wolverine and Hulk all the time. Basically they are only over-powered or given an over-powered power increase when they have no argument as to how they could beat this other character.

In real life there are people who don't come out as gay until much later in life. Lots of times those people also have relationships with people of the opposite sex. I think they actually explained Bobby not coming out pretty well. The idea that he was already a mutant and devoted his life to fighting for mutant rights and he just wanted one part of his life to be "normal". It's also easy to say the reason Professor X never pushed him to come out was because he knew that it wasn't his place and Bobby would come out when he was ready. Now obviously Bobby being gay wasn't planned from the start but I feel they did a good job of explaining it. It also provides representation for people who come out later in life. It gives him an interesting perspective on dating men for the first time as an adult. Overall I think the change was good

And keep it out lol However, I do hope that they incorporate a few other elements in the MCU. Cyclops' trenchcoat is one(for more than 1 scene each in the first 2 movies, anyway🤨), Prof. X 'suiting up' and joining the team on missions, is another. Rogue as actual Rogue, please. Relationship with Gambit/Remy LaBeau and all. Oh, and giving Jubilee some real attention ffs. Those among others. Just some potentially unrequited requests lol
I've followed Iceman for more than 40 years, and it upsets me to no end that he's now gay all of a sudden... Especially when all he's been with for the last 40 years were with women. I feel like the writers at that time were getting pressure from online trolls, and Marvel felt the peer pressure from those comic subscribers, so they blinked. Northstar, and a host of others were already existing gay mutants, so I'm not sure why Marvel couldn't just create another gay character instead, or make Iceman bisexual to appease OG fans, and the LGBT community.

Mike Carey was one of the few writers that thought outside of the box to do research on the different ways to use his powers besides ice beams and ice slides. Iceman was a complete badass when he had his solo specials or stories that evolved around him, AND he's one of the very few Omega level mutants that can affect the entire planet without giving it much thought. Remove his humorous personality, and give him some challenges, and you got yourself a compelling character.

I wonder on MCU; should they bring in the Spider-Man and his amazing friends thing to expand the mutant saga for MCU, like new mutants Firestar & Iceman but not only them such as mutants but also Spider-Man being a mutant like for example Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man is actually a mutant from a website I looked up at and there's Spider-Man's kids as mutants; May Parker (Spider-Girl) and Ben Parker II & Richard Parker II but to the point MCU can bring on Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends as a mutant X-Men show but with Spider-Girl or Ben Parker II as Spider-Man or Richard Parker II as Spider-Man, what do anyone else think

Iceman is not gay, that is just an example of lazy writing.
It's a sloppy retcon done to get ahead of the Alphabet Cult revolution and early DEI/DIE example, forced and awkwardly done... lost 70% of such examples over the past 10 or so years in Western media.
How are you going to say Iceman isn't gay when they just made it happen in the comics. In real life gay men deny who they are and live fake lives, have families, wives etc. So why can't a fictional character have this arc, or a new one?

So far heard omega level, yet still didn't see any "omega" powers. Cloning yourself in ice forms, or traveling is not really "earth shattering" ... just lame and basic, and something other beta mutants can do.
