I love how when Omega falls Tech just jumps in right away. Especially in an episode about how he shows emotions differently, that shows he cares so much.

As a neurodivergent person, i love how this episode is handled. Neither Tech nor Omega are presented as "the bad guy," and, importantly, BOTH have to learn a lesson from the situation. Omega has to learn that people can process complex feelings differently, and that it doesnt make them any less feeling, and Tech has to learn that ones own way of dealing isnt always readily apparent to others, especially when grief and loss is on the table, and that sometimes you have to be the one to reach across that line of communication first. Most shows will only showcase one of those lessons, but Bad Batch, of all things, chose to show how both sides of the communication are important.

In my opinion. I think the squad should be done with Cid, as Tech mentioned they have helped her out of trouble on more than one occasion, meanwhile Cid always finds the squad's predicaments as "not her problem"

Gosh, that scene with Tech really hit me, because like you guys said, it's kind of an autism shoutout, and I was (and still largely am) very much like Tech. School came very easy for me. I was the nerd who was always a grade or two above everyone else in most regards and I never really had to even try for it. Though social cues were a bit difficult and empathy for some things seemed...foreign, shall we say. His line about not seeing why he should care about something that is a fundamental part of existence was exactly how I felt on some things as well, though for the longest time always felt like maybe something was wrong with me because I didn't get upset about stuff that everyone else did, like if the news is covering a town that got leveled by a tornado or something. This episode, and especially this scene made me, and probably many other people with autism, relate so much to Tech because he is very much the kind of autism where the individual is incredibly smart, yet social cues and understanding is a bit lacking. And that last line is so important because it's so true. Just because we might not seem like we care right away, or because we process that information differently, doesn't mean that we don't care at all. We just don't quite know how to express it, especially for those whose brains are much more information, factual, and logically driven.

I simply love how Tech did not hesitate to admit such so openly to Omega after unintentionally making it seem her expressing saddening/hurt/distressing and anxiety towards Echo's absence was unwarranted. Yes, Hunter had to coax him to resume communication with her. He explained to Tech on how she was FEELING and made it clear firmly yet fairly that he had to open himself up to FEELING such emotions. It set off an uncharted chain reaction in Tech and I could see such in his gaze when he met Hunters.
Tech most likely can adapt to changes in situations when it comes to facts and truths... But... learning to adapt to Omega's introduction into the squad... and how the situations that they all find themselves having to endure and impact them all from her prospective emotionally? It is a much more.. sensitive and difficult dynamic to deal with. He openly admitted it.... Yet he followed it up with a statement as positive as he could muster despite it all. He is neurodivergent in nature.... I identify with him so strongly as I have Aspergers' myself. Time and time again.. I have had to take a step back from factual focus and give myself a fair, honest chance to actually feel through the situations I am experiencing.
He really DOES care for her. He did not think twice about jumping down blindly into the unknown to rescue her. I am calling it now : Tech has a heart of the purest gold.
He also openly admitted that he whilst he did totally agree with Crosshair or Echo's reasoning for leaving the squad? He respected their decisions... yet agreeing with such decisions? Naturally one won't all the time... He just does not state and/or show it in the usual manner... ~
In Crosshairs case? - “Understanding you does not mean that I agree with you."
With Echo? He wished him the best of luck and knew logically; the chances of Echo choosing to leave with Rex to assist their brothers from such a wide spreading situation? Was always high.
I often wonder how Omega would have reacted if she was given some warning to process the fact that Echo was to leave.... She still would be sad... Yet I wonder if she held the knowledge of such a drastic shift beforehand.... would she have been able to see similar logical conclusions in terms of exactly why Echo was leaving... and thus... not feel as if she were simply loosing another one of her brothers... or that such could keep occurring? I just wanted to give her the biggest hug! >.

Bad Batch could have taken the old trope used countless times in cartoons and other media, and just explained away Tech's behavior as "wrong behavior by the nerd who realizes at the end he was wrong." Instead, they allowed Tech a 3rd dimension by confirming him as neurodivergent... VERY cool.

Watching Tech awkwardly trying to explain to Omega what he's feeling is my everything. You can tell how uncomfortable he is talking about things this way and then as he finds his rhythm he starts to say these things more confidently. It's a perfectly sweet moment that really develops both of their characters and their relationship to each other while addressing how events have affected the team. It combines the tight writing of Clone Wars with the character focus of Rebels
WHY WASN'T THIS GENIUS LEVEL OF WRITING IN EPISODES 1,2, 4-7?!!!

I really appreciate how they handled Techs way of handling loss compared to Omegas way. It’s different but it doesn’t mean people who are more private with their emotions and are more rational (me too) rather than focus on their values doesn’t mean we don’t feel. We just internalize it.

Someone under Blind Wave's video commented about how Tech seems to display ASD and after rewatching this episode it really shows for me. I find it incredibly interesting and cool that they chose to go this path, because IMHO it makes the most sense for Tech to be autistic to some extent. Great stuff from the creators of the show. ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION DISNEY??? This is how you subtly weave in real life problems into TV and cinema creations for it to make sense and play nicely into the characters and the situation they're in without the feeling you're being force-fed something you didn't come to see

Really happy that the show decided to deal with a situation every kid has to deal with ; change, and how we react to it differently. All the Batch members were clearly off their game today because they're all mourning Echo's departure but only Omega was obvious. Glad they made Tech the Asperger's one, showing that feeling different isn't bad, just another point of view. Hope there's some uptick next time, can't take the down vibes for long.

Tech really is humanized in every possible, and it's so cool that he is neurodivergent in canon. Everything about this episode is super sick, the character development's quite evident here as the squad straight up argued, Omega and Tech's learning a lesson in moving on in their own way made my eyes glued to the screen!
I sure hope they recover their ship for sure by next week. As one who's part of the spectrum who used to have Asperger's, this hits close to home.

Great episode, and loved your guys thoughts! Completely agree on Sid, we're fast reaching a point where the Bad Batch is going to part ways with her, probably not on the most amicable terms. They included that line about 'loyalty with Sid not going both ways' back in episode 4 for a reason. Hunter's main priority now is keeping the Batch safe, and Sid's missions have put them in constant danger all season, and despite their assistance to her, she's rarely returned the favor.
Overall, I think this is my favorite episode this season! Loved the Western vibes of the setting and music, and the character development in this episode was great!

Great reaction and another great episode. Slower but very character focused! I'm glad they're really taking the time to explore the effect of Echo's absence on the team, especially Omega. It's exactly what I wanted to see.
First off, I *loved* the Western vibes of the music, that was excellent. I always love it when Star Wars goes for a Western aesthetic. And when that stampede showed up, my first thought was "What is this? The Lion King?" and that gave me a good laugh. Honestly if it was Hondo who stole the ship, that would be fantastic. I'm surprised he hasn't appeared in this series yet.
As someone with autism (Asperger's Syndrome - great callout by Bendu btw), I've always struggled to express emotions and I've related to Tech and his personality and mannerisms but this episode really drove that home. I related a lot to Tech explaining how he felt about Echo leaving and not showing it in the same way the others are. That moment was so relatable to me. Now I will say that when Tech was so blunt and almost apathetic with Omega in the episode, I was going "Yeah not cool dude". That kinda bordered on total ignorance IMO but I also get the scene from both sides even if I'm in Omega's corner. I get his perspective but I'm also not going to pretend he isn't in the wrong and I do like that both Wrecker and Hunter called him on it and made him go speak to Omega in the mine. But it also makes sense he'd react this way because, even though Echo left under better circumstances, the other three have already gone through this with Crosshair turning his back on them and adjusting to that, whereas Omega has never known the squad as anything other than her, Echo, Hunter, Wrecker and Tech.
This whole episode made me want to hug Omega so much honestly, it was hard to see her so upset and angry but I love that she's finding a way to come to grips and push through it. I also like that she's reacting to Echo's absence the hardest because it really shows how close they are. This episode built perfectly off of Echo leaving at the end of the last episode. Hopefully we'll get an episode showing the opposite and Echo adjusting to his new mission with Rex.
I also like that they finally specifically called back to "Infested" last season where they helped her and to "Faster" this season, finally starting to give some payoff for them. I've said since the start that even though they were standalones, they were going to figure into whatever they did with Cid in the future. We were supposed to see them do all these things for Cid so that when the time came for her to return the favour, her decision one way or another would carry weight. I think next week will be the moment of truth for Cid whether or not she comes through of them, although in Cid's defence, I will say she did seem to come around when she saw Omega was depending on her, and she was the one who mainly stuck up for Cid in the past and it doesn't appear that she has a ship of her own she can just use to go pick them up. If she did, I think we would have seen it by now which means she'll have to hire a ship on the DL to get them. That's gonna take some time but for right now I can see it going either way with her and I'm looking forward to seeing how it'll unfold.

David Filoni is apparently a big LOTR fan, so I'm not really surprised that more references are in this episode. He did this with the clone wars, and rebels too. That one episode of Anakin, and Ahsoka making points of who killed the most droids, was a reference to Gimli and Legolas's tournament thing that they did in the two towers. For rebels, its kinda obvious with the Loth wolves being a reference to the wargs in the hobbit, with them being big enough to ride, and having a white furred leader.

While I tend to go with the simple explanation, that the ship thief is somehow associated with this planet, possibly as a young miner based on the hard hat, goggles, and breather, I can't ignore a possible alternate explanation. It's a long shot, but it might be a long-haired, 14-year-old Boba Fett. That might explain why the thief's face is so covered up, to keep us from realizing who he is. It might also explain how he stole a ship that Tech controls. There's been the fan theory that Boba and Omega will meet in this series, so it wouldn't be terribly unexpected.

I love Hondo and I know I'd love seeing him pop up again but at the same time I really wish they'd stop making the galaxy so small. We have a handful or two of well known characters in a galaxy of quadrillions of beings so the fact that they keep tripping over each other doesn't always make much sense to me. I know why a show would like doing it but I'd appreciate a bit more realism. Next thing you know they'll tell us that Omega built R5, Wrecker built then sold the Mos Eisley cantina, Echo tuned the instruments for the Modal Nodes, and Cid is Bossk's aunt. I'd rather they use a new character to show off a different aspect of the Empire's take over or life in the galaxy in general.

I'm convinced the blue hair guy is Hondo

It looked like it was a child. Hondo is an adult. Remember in all the episodes of the TCW he appeared in, he's an adult. This is set after that. But, I'm hoping it's one of the younglings that were with Gungi and they're with Hondo (he was fond of them, especially Katooni). That would mean at least one more of them survived Order 66.

It would be genius if u 2 react to star trek picard season 3. The first 2 seasons is terrible, but season 3 is the real McCoy.
And see u on real deep water.
