    21:56 She's doing exactly what her brothers taught her to do; putting herself on the line to make sure no member of the team gets left behind. Besides, she grew up with this droid, he's the only thing left of her time on Kamino. She can't help but try to hang on to him.

    In Crosshair's defence, he did just save Omega and the entire Batch aimed their weapons at him for it. They don't trust him and he knows it. He doesn't really have a good reason to trust going with them. Not that I agree with him at all, but I can see why he still doesn't want to go back with his brothers.

      i thought Omega going back for AZI could have been the turning point where he might have believed her as she was willing to die to save AZI instead of do what Hunter did and leave him behind. but like you said the lack of trust between all of them might have just pushed back more into the arms of the empire

    I'm afraid Crosshair needs to stick around on the Empire side a little bit longer on a writing level. He is the batches eventual window into the worst-case scenario crisis that is likely down the road for them; so he'll remain our window into the Empire as a whole for some time till then. Still not 100 percent about his chip admittedly, since again he's showing signs of headaches, but it will be interesting to see his perspective of the changes on the Empire side through his eyes into S2.

    • @wahn10
      @wahn10 3 года назад +8

      Agree. We might see the arc of Crosshair's disillusionment with the Empire, and his eventual reconciliation with his brothers. After all, Hunter will be proven to be right: Crosshair is just a pawn, and the Empire deserves no allegiance from bona fide soldiers like the Bad Batch.

    • @misteryman526
      @misteryman526 3 года назад +2

      I'm thinking that the chip HAS been removed, but that the treatment the Kaminoans used to 'intensify' the effect of his partially active chip has embedded the programming into his mind. I don't think he'll ever come back to the batch, but I expect the programming will break down eventually and he'll have some sort of tragic 'blaze of glory' ending.

Wrecker's counter argument was that Crosshair had plenty of opportunities to escape the Empire and rejoin them but chose to stay. There are hints that Crosshair still has his chip in (headaches, "Soldiers follow orders" mantra). He either lied or was lied to. Whatever is happening with him, he is a very complex and well-written character, I agree that it would have been too soon for him to be redeemed. The episode itself was kinda underwhelming for a finale, but together with part 1 it was very good.
    One thing I really appreciated during Season 1: they kept the Clone Wars tech! Other stories in this early Imperial era I think were too trigger-happy introducing TIEs, ISDs and Stormtroopers, with no CW tech at all, so it was good to see that they resisted this, and for the earliest Imperial stories they try to show the transition in a more realistic way.

Like Hunter is the tracker, but Crosshair is like an alarm system with a sniper. How else would he be able to perfectly grapple both Omega and AZI through cloudy and distorted water like 4 fathoms down. How else does he immediately know where the Bad Batch is at all times, like yeah he can predict their movements but how does he know their precise location every time

    About Omega: They modified Jangos DNA with someone elses, to create a female clone. She has got a NZ accent.. and Temuera Morrison is from NZ. She must be the closest clone to Jango (besides Boba).
    Maybe the needed female DNA version to create the clones. We don't know how they do it.. so they might need a mix of both genders like in the real world ^^

    • @taiwandxt6493
      @taiwandxt6493 Год назад

      I mean, you have to guess that if the Kaminoans are able to clone someone perfectly from their DNA and make genetic changes to said DNA, they'd be able to modify the biological sex of said DNA too. So I don't think it was a cross with another template, they just modified Jango Fett's DNA to be natally female. Now as for Omega's purpose, there are lots of plausible reasons. I think the most plausible is their desire to experiment with female traits that would make a superior soldier. People tend to forget that a lot of physical traits that natal females on average tend to have make them superior on the battlefield in many instances. Flexibility, being the primary biological trait. But also, interestingly, marksmanship ability. Now, there isn't a TON of evidence to back this up and it is kind of disputed as science is generally moving away from sexual dimorphism like that given the evidence that is emerging, however there is SOME empirical evidence, both from history and in modern combat, that suggest women make better snipers because on average. A lot of people say it's because women, due to a variety of factors involving inherent biological characteristics and a gendered upbringing have a finer attention to detail, a better ability to focus, a better impulse control ability, and an ability to hold their breath and maintain a steadier, lower heart rate. Now this is in dispute scientifically, because again, not overwhelming evidence to support this, as many in the scientific community dub it myth. But, hey, perhaps it's something which is proven in the Star Wars Universe based on certain factors exclusive to their universe and not our own reality and the Kaminoans wanted to breed female clones to be snipers. Just a hypothesis however given the marksmanship we've seen from Omega, in the first episode when she shot the rifle out of Crosshair's hands, and throughout the series with her bow, it is a possibility.

    I don't see Crosshair being willingly accepted by the Empire and Rampart. The Batch may need to save him.
    Really enjoyed this tense episode and I think Nala will be like Jyn Erso's dad was to the Empire.

    It took me until much later but Echo didn’t have one single line this episode. I like the finale but I didn’t like it as much as I hoped that I would. So glad there is a season 2. I had thought a lot of the friends or other revelations might be revealed in this ep but they were not. I’m glad that AZI-3 is now a part of the Batch! Glad that we will now see more about , (whether its called the Tarkin Initiative or whatever they are calling) how they plan on cloning Palpatine. Maybe next season we will see Grogu.

      Yes he did. He had about 3+ lines, albeit very minor lines, but still: "At least the smell's gone." & "Quit complaining. At least you're not doubled up."

      @@wigwitch Understandable. Although the "not doubling up" line shouldn't be too hard to catch since the camera pans right at Echo speaking the line. It's much more the camera angles that I normally focus on more so, since most of the Batch's voices sound pretty similar like Wrecker, Hunter & Echo. haha 👍

    I really think they’re setting up a redemption arc for Crosshair next season. That end scene of the bad batch taking off and crosshairs choosing to stay but looking conflicted about it had very serious parallels to the Zeb and Kallus episode of Rebels

    Awesome season of reactions gentlemen! Great work as always. Personally I thought they would close the book on kamino with a little more shock n awe like Rex showing up with some early form of the resistance. Instead they continued the story development with crosshair. They are taking their time with this story which i can atleast appreciate because it means we hopefully have alot more episodes ahead!

  • @JcBravo8
    @JcBravo8 3 года назад +2

    Sobering, when you realize, that in Legends the Empire struggled to consolidate the Republic and CIS into the Empire which is why the Kaminoans were able to rebel. But in Canon the shift is so seamless with the conquering clones become occupiers that the Kamino rebellion was effectively strangled as soon as it was conceived. A complete genocide.

    I loved the Titanic-esque scene when the facilities hit the bottom of the ocean. That was gorgeous.
    This ep should've been combined with the last for one long finale though. I don't feel much happened here that made it its own one. Just one long epilogue. I do like that Crosshair is so committed to his values. He does help Omega out to get even for her saving his life, but he is totally fine with dying for the cause if that benefits the Empire. That's gonna play out pretty cool in the next season I reckon.

    Mount Tantiss on Wayland vibes from that final scene. I think the finale shouldn't have been a 2 parter but rather a long single ep and would have helped pacing. But glad crosshair didn't join the batch at the end. He hasn't had the development to justify the redemption. On the flipside the motives to stay in the empire should have been developed more. Looking forward to season 2

    I don't get saying no one died in this episode. Kamino died. And its depiction is almost (maybe more, depending on who you ask?) as tragic as Order 66. It was like watching the final nail in the Prequel coffin. And was it just me or was this the most nerve-wracking 'Star Wars' has ever been? Maybe I'm wrong, but my bet is that this episode is going to be much more beloved in hindsight, once the initial disappointment that some major and obvious tie-in to the overall mythos subsides. It's just the first season finale, but it feels to me like it could sit right alongside the other major cinematic events of SW.

    I’m glad you guys also enjoyed the finale part 2. I did as well! Crosshair is such a d$ck doesn’t t realize empire is just using him. Should have listened to Hunter. We’ve seen Omega’s different elements, now learning she’s older and wiser. The ending was epic seeing Nala Se’s new job as a scientist like Galen. She didn’t look happy however. Can’t wait for season 2! You guys were fun to watch all season!
