46:12 Yes these commercials are for an event that now takes place in game. At the time of these commercials it wasn't a real thing but as of the last 5-6 years where we have had full planets in game there are convention halls inside the cities and they have rotating show floors for various manufacturers for each day where you can wander around and go inside any of the ships of that day. This coincides with a freefly event where anyone can play for free for around 2 weeks and come to the show floors and rent any ship/vehicle that is on the floors for a couple of days. Some of the really large ships you have seen in the SQ42 prologue you watched are not released yet to players but are involved in a NPC "Fleet Flyby" that happens at orbital stations as part of the event. One of those larger ships the Javelin (The ship you act as a gunner on board in SQ42) docks during this flyby for about 45mins and you can tour a portion of the completed interior and there is some npc's spouting lore.
fair mention would be that the "expo halls" are copy pasted even when location changes, and at best recoloured, if even that, for the next event. it's the same layout and there really isn't much but the ships standing around with some sparse NPCs standing around and bad audio quality of voice lines appearing detached from any characters actually speaking. it's not a big hall where you can see from one end to the other, it's several bigger ones across obnoxiously long and empty hallways. it's really off putting design choices and does not come close to what is shown in the video at all.
@@the_babbleboom I mean... that's a tad harsh if you look at what it still presents you with in a multiplayer environment with up to 600 other players at the same time per server. Yes it's not quite as impressive as moving about in a gargantuan hangar, but I don't know a single new player who wasn't going "woooow" when they stared onto the towering form of a Reclaimer looming over 50 meters over their head in a main hall that is about 300m wide and encompasses various additional ships and/or vehicles in the remaining space and more in connected halls. Yes, if you've been to the IAE a couple of years in a row it starts to lose the excitement of new stuff, but whenever I met new players in the game at these events they had always been impressed with the variety of ships on display, and if you look at what has been achieved rather than at what you wished CIG would have achieved, then it's still pretty impressive.
Since you really seem to enjoy their videos, another couple sugestions would be their Star Engine trailer and some of last year Citcon videos about the upcomming star systems Nyx and Castra
I second this. Even though they are not Cinematic Trailers and more just showing features coming in, Its all still interesting to watch even if you don't react to it
@RedGriffen18 that is a fair point. I figured the Star engine one might of been nice because of the continous shot. But maybe the 2016 SQ42 trailer is a better fit, since it is actually cinematic, be it rather short
I 100% agree, the star engine trailer is the perfect way to see what the game is about, what the playspace look like and get it in a cinematic package wich is what @kai Zammit specialise in!
The shift in quality is due to them learning a lot over the years, the tools they use to make the cinematics getting easier to produce with and being more flexible/powerful, and also the game having more usable assets over time. But more importantly, the older ads were made by the developers in their spare time. The later ads like the last handful in the latter half of the video were made with a new marketing team who's sole job is to produce these now regularly using the developer tools. They don't directly work on the game and have more experience working on commercial productions rather than being pure developers. This allows the developers to focus on creating the game while another team works on creating cool cinematic marketing material with what the developers make. Great seeing you react to this, I've always had a soft spot for film making but it sometimes feels like voodoo magic to me being a laymen when it comes to talking about camera work or lighting since my background is in audio. And it is a nice learning experience as you explain the various shots, lighting styles and point out details that I would have totally missed. Love it, looking forward to the second half!
I forget where they mentioned it (might have been in an old reverse the verse or something) but I recall them talking about how the ship trailers and such were often made by newer staff members as they trained on the tools before they started work on S42 cinematics. So some of these are done as a learning tool.
For the Galactic tour videos, they were made for the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo to showcase the ships the dev have created and implemented into the game that are ready to fly. This year would be IAE 2955 and be held in November. During this time you can try the game for free and each day is dedicated to a specific manufacturer where you can rent the ships for free to play and fly around with. And yes, you can walk around the expo hall and view the ships (even board them and rent them).
Not sure if you had a reply But you can fly land walk around in most places. Arc corp the city planet you can only in a small area On a test server you can get to a 2nd more lawless system called pyro. Which you will see in more later Jax vids. You ended your vid around 2018. IAE I think the kraken was
@@kaizammit at one point you asked if you can ride around in the big ships & the answer is yes (somewhat) you can. the one on screen was a Bengal Carrier. you can't fly that one yet because its not finished on the inside. so some of the really big ships are incomplete.
@@kaizammit Also in March (Maybe April, the robertsspaceindustried website would tell you) is Invictus week (Fleet Week). It's another expo but features the Military ships, so you will see fewer than IAE. I think there are other free fly (Free to try) events but I don't remember when off hand.
"Can you get out of your ship?" Absolutely! All of it. Flying down, landing, getting out of your seat, walking through your ship and out of it straight onto the planet/moon. Nothing like it. its a buggy mess, but its our beautiful buggy mess lol
Perfectly said! I've been playing SC since 11/03/17 and it's come on amazingly! But it's still a fecking buggy mess with more and more buggy content being added! Get the fecking bugs fixed before you start adding more content CIG!! I've been moaning about this for years & CIG don't give a shit, they just want to sell ships and gear, but the game has soooo many bugs it's pretty much annoying to play! It has the potential to be the best game ever!! It's so much fun when it works & looks fantastic!!!
Some of these started about 10 years ago, so some of them are quite dated. Hence why there are some repeats and a clear change in quality. Squadron 42= single player Star citizen = multi-player As for the game, yes, you can seamlessly transition between space, atmo, in ship, on foot, in vehicles, etc. You can mine, salvage, bounty hunt, haul cargo, etc. With more gameplay constantly being added. And regarding the ship manufacturers, you are on point with each having ing a theme. All of these ships can be purchased in-game, using game currency, or if you want a head start, you can pay with cash to get immediately, though the price ramps up very quickly. Love the reaction, and would definitely sit through another to finish out the remaining commercials
No loading screens, full ship interiors that are interactable, you can walk around on the ships while someone else is flying and you can land on planets and in cities. game is a technical marvel for sure.
@mineking298 if you mean to Pyro, you still need to pilot in side warp. If you mean while on quantum it's not you're literally moving across the world in real time. If anything you just need to render shit once you get to where you're at, still not a loading screen though
@@mineking298 Its not a loading screen, It is another playspace where you have to manually pilot the ship and other functions like multicrew and players walking around your ship still works. It has the use of a loading screen where it loads out Stanton assets and loads in Pyro assets, but it is still always in game stuff, no loss of control at any point. It is changing servers as well however that is a mostly seamless transition where the only pause you will see is just desync
The guy who did the last redesign of the Cutlass series of ships left the company shortly afterwards to create the Razorcrest from The Mandalorian. I'm pretty sure that the artist who designed the Reclaimer worked on Alien as well.
This was a lot of fun to watch coupled with your reactions and commentary. It is nice to see the progression of Star Citizens storytelling and cinematography. Can’t wait for part two.
One cool aspect is that for the most part, the ship trailers are done as if they where in-world adds made by their respective companies. The military ones are like real world defence company adds. Punchy, focused on dominating the battlefield and statistics at the forefront, with the main UEE contractor's adds basically being recruitment adds. The leading exploration and science focused brand are centered around discovery. The civilian companies are more like car adds, either with a focus on luxuries or practicality and what the ship can do for you. The haulage company is like a trucker add, focused on profit and efficiency. Then the dubious brand that is known to sell to criminals and pirates and isn't invited to the big ship showcase held annually advertises themselves as giving the little guy a chance to stand up for themselves, with the "bad guys" in their adds flying the ships made by their competitors that are usually used by the military or security. And the knockoff top gear was a cool idea for world building because the expo is an in game event that you can visit with a new manufacturer having their ships on display and available to rent every couple of days. So there would be an episode of galactic tour, then you could go visit that expo. In fact, pretty much all the trailers are made in engine, which is why you see them improve graphically as they go on, and why some things may seem a bit off (like the face models you noticed), because they're working with an in development game engine to make them. As a side note, I'd be interested to see your thoughts on the trailers for War Thunder. They have some really interesting ones including a live action one they made a few years ago. And the recent ones have been much more cinematic.
YES! the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo is an actual expo that you get to go to IN-GAME! you should join us for the one in a few months. thanks again for doing these, it is great to get your input as someone in the field. Cloud Imperium Games, CIG, is headquartered in Manchester, maybe you could pay them a visit and maybe make a few commercials or in-game content for us. YES! you can also fly down to any planet or moon and get out and explore on the surface, in structures and in caves. in space you can also EVA and explore derelicts in zero-g YES! the way the ships look in the commercials, is the same way that they ships look in game, because the commercials are all made in-engine (though the engine has improved and so have their textures and processes).
IAE is only in November. The one in a few months (late May or early June) is Invictus Fleet Week. IAE has all the in-game ships, Invictus focuses only on the military ships, since it celebrates that year's graduating class from the UEE Naval Academy. As someone who grew up going to trade shows, boat shows, and home sows with my dad, I love IAE and Invictus, they really feel like real expos.
Love your enthusiasm and perspective on all of these. The answer to most of your questions was "yes". Yes you can pilot the big ships, you can buy them in game or in a store for real cash, you can get out of your pilot seat and walk around your ship, and then walk outside, survey a bit and then "bugger off." You friends can even join you. This is why we back the game and love it so much. But be warned, the game is very much in development so it can be very buggy and often times frustrating. But it is an ambitious project and experience like no other. Thanks for taking the time to make this content, I really enjoyed your commentary.
@@kaizammit Well listen to this: Do the rest of the adverts. They only get better from here. Production design, sound design, face models, everything only goes up in quality. You might want to skip the Corsair ASMR though. That's not really a commercial. Edit: Also you might want to look up "Anvil F7 MKII". For some reason that's a ship ad that isn't in the ship ad playlist.
@@kaizammit by the way , you are probably familiar with Jax's actor , Jonathan Booth , hes been in British tv industry for longer than ive been alive lol
There's another video coming hopefully next week with the rest of the ads. I'm very excited to see them. Also, I listen to you guys a lot when it comes to deciding what content you would like to watch.

Please do the rest of them! As to something you said a few times in the video akin to "can you really do this?", the answer is yes. I recommend checking out the Star Engine demo to understand just what the game is capable of. Thanks for all of your coverage for Squadron and Star Citizen so far! EDIT: Some of these I would argue weren't intended to be commercials, even though they did end up in the playlist. The panning around ones were more to show off to backers updates to existing ships or show off PBR textures when they were first really introduced to the game.
"I love the design of these aircrafts The 300 series from Origin has gone through MASSIVE design changes. This will be the case for most of the earliest ships you see in the first few of these ads. The standard for ship design has changed massively over the years of CIG's work.
I must still say though, I honestly preferred my old 325a's OG design. Loved the rugged look and gull wing sides that opened up instead of the modern style's aircraft door. Then again, now I've got a minibar and a skylight, so.. Eh. Win some Lose some. Would LOVE to see a "2943 Edition" 300 series though, even if it's lacking in some modern features. Like buying an antique car.
@ It does fit the car designer theme, though. "Hey, you know that nice, structurally protective roof on the car? Yeah, we're going to just remove that and put custom fitted glass there instead." "What do you mean you literally never look backwards out the roof of your car? It's a perfectly good design." "Oh, that nice, giant cargo door that gave easy access to the entire interior? Nah, we got rid of that. Put a thin bit of metal in it's place and left you a tiny door everyone has to squeeze through one at a time instead."
Loved this, a lot of these commercials sold me on the game, I became a massive Anvil fan due to their commercials, original Hornet & Arrow ones are some of my favourites. Keep up the awesome work and can't wait for part 2! Some of these adverts are 6-10+ years old now so you can see the engine and models of the game evolve over time and their cinematic techniques improve as well over the course of these adverts. Always an awesome watch and seeing you react was great as well due to all their techniques that we don't normally notice being pointed out is just cool information to use in the next videos. Seeing the style and storyline of each manufacturer as well. It's like an evolving story of each.
You can get out your ship and walk the planets and moons and space stations, you can park your ship in other ships, you can EVA in space, no load screens, no transitions, you feel like you really exist in this universe, some places are breath takers.
That big Ship is called the Bangual and yes it is flyable and walkable. we don't entirely know if you can own it but maybe in the future. And yes, everywhere you see is most likely a place you can go.
I'm not sure if it is a commercial (Not that I care), but I regularly watch these commercials, and I put in the PIONEER REVEAL SPEECH, which makes it even more epic to hear. (On that note, I also watch Bishop's speech on the list after some more commercials play) :D
13:40 so this ship is actually one of the alien fighters you see in the Squadron 42 opening. However the design of the Vanduul ships has gone through some reworking ans this model is now outdated.
34:00 Yes. Yes that is what the game looks like, although without the flaming planet in the background. I would definitely check out the game when you get a chance! There are bugs of course, but I still have a lot of fun with it. I will also say that I wanted to write a comment for SO MANY THINGS that you said in this video. *Edit* I dont know where my previous comment went. I guess I typed something bad and the AI got rid of it. Ill make this part short then. I would love to speak about Star Citizen with you, in a video, off of a video. I have no issues what so ever nerding out over Star Citizen lol. If you would rather play on your own however and learn at your own pace then I wholeheartedly support that decision.
Loving the trip down memory lane over the last 12 years...one thing thats really cool about all these (which, as others have pointed out, are made so the cinematic team could get experience before making SQ42) is that all the music you hear is composed by one composer; Pedro Camacho. He makes all the star citizen music in-game as well. Its super great to see the huge variety of different motifs and styles he comes up with! When those first commercials came out (the origin 300i, hornet, aurora) those were the earliest days. When the 300i commercial was out, we didn't even have a game client to install. The hangar module had yet to release...so this was the very first time we ever saw a character or ship model. The very first time we heard music or the soundscape they were thinking of. The aurora and hornet commercials came out like 2 months after the very first downloadable client...at that time we could walk around our ships and even get into them. But they were stuck in the hangar and weren't flyable yet. These commercials from the start would show us what was cutting edge at the time (character models, animations, lighting, etc.) and are still used today to show us the best version of the game that they're hoping for. I was sold on it from that very first 300i commercial...when I saw how serious they were with how they presented the worldbuilding of star citizen and how they wanted us to experience the game. Its been a fun journey!
37:45 that huge ship you see all the smaller ones inside of is called the Bengal Carrier, its THE flagship of the UEE Navy and comes in at exactly 1 Km long. They said they wouldn't be available for players to fly, however in their most recent Convention, they promoted it as being the end goal to reach for Player Run Orgs, along side Player Run Space stations.
Just a minor correction. The Bengal Carriers are a class of ship, there is way more than 1 and are usually used as the flagships of armadas. There has only been 1 Bengal Carrier variant which was considered THE flagship of the UEE Navy, and it was built to compete with the size of the Kingmakers and was blown up by a Kingmaker prior to the events of SQ42. Last I read the lore, there are 6 Bengal Carriers in use by the UEE. To your comment about them not being flyable. Half-right. The idea that is being floated around is that a player org can take over a derelict Bengal and after doing so, the goal becomes to keep control of it. The ship will require multiple people at all times to operate, and can be taken by other orgs, or even by NPCs.
So unlike alot of space games you are the person in the ship, not the ship itself, so you can walk around the ship when its flying, get out whenever you want on the planet surface and just explore
Fun bit of info for you, since you asked. The recurring character that presented the Mustang ships is the CEO of Consolidated Outland, the company behind the Mustangs. His name is Silas Koerner, and was a trust fund baby who explored various industries before finding success as a ship manufacturer. They even have some details out about him, like where he was born and who his father was (first governor of his homeworld) Also yes, that absolutely was Lance Henriksen (Bishop from Alien) who voiced the Freelancer ad. I wish we had more from him and other distinctive, well-known voices, but it's still fun.
that mustang Commerical makes me cry every time i watch it. at like 27:00. oh man its been so long since I was still just a kid who just became a father, dreaming of playing the best damn space game ever.
The best way I can sell Star Citizen is by telling a story: You wake up in a bed in your apartment, after getting dressed you leave and go to the lobby. Exiting the apartment building you make your way to the space port. You Stop at shops along the way to stock up. After arriving at your hanger you board your ship. Climbing the ladder and walking through the cabin to the cockpit. After sitting down and powering the ship up, you call ATC to take off and the hanger doors open in front of you. You takeoff, and fly around the city for a few minutes before pointing your nose up and heading to space. You make a quick stop at the local space station to pick up some cargo. Which you load into your ships hold. you make your way across the system to the moon of a neighboring planet. Dropping down into the atmosphere you land at a small village. There you get out and deliver your cargo. None of what I've described is particularly ground breaking. HOWEVER, in other games their would be a load screen or some sort of gamified U to accomplish the task. in Star Citizen there are zero loading screens outside of the first one and everything is handled in the game world diegetically. This even extends to things like global illumination. The planets actually turn in the game world, and whether it's day or night is determined by real time ray tracing of lights FROM THE ACTUAL STAR.
Best part of the game, is that’s just his perspective. You can get pretty much whatever experience you want from the game. Wanna be a space trucker like this guy? How about pretend your the mandalorian bounty hunter above your drake cutlass blue? Like stealing and murdering like Blackbeard? What about deep cave mining? And the list goes on and on and on
Sooo cool to see you react with your expertise on these ads, big proud, early day fan of Star citizen here, I think they really nailed the existence of brands with each of them having their own identity and style of ads, a perfect mimic of nowadays cars brands. As a junior art director, it really blow my mind how they succeded ! So hype to see you react to the rest, since those are old ones, you are not ready for the rest ;) , at your disposal if you have any question or interrogation on the game ! ( Sorry for the poorly written english, french fan over there ! )
To answer the question you had: No, sadly, the adverts are not in game currently, except in IAE (Intergalactic Aerospace Expo). Some of them I get why, as the ships were not accurate to how they are in game (for example, the freelancers engines don't turn like that, nor is the Aurora customizable), but a huge amount of them should be in game. Edit: Also, to answer, yes, the big ship (The RSI Polaris) is in fact flyable. They just released it in game. And there's even bigger ones on the way, including a ship that's nearly a kilometer long.
Just about every single question you have had about something being in the game can be answered with a resounding "YES". I have played for many years and am an official guide. The game has come a long way and it is ridiculously immersive now. Thanks for giving reactions to all these commercials as I can say the earlier ones were still conceptual with many of the ships having changed quite a lot over time. The latest commercials are so ridiculously cool. As a company they react and adapt so surprisingly well and every venture they do with new content evolves into something amazing later on.
Very much enjoyed this. What you are seeing from the first commercial to the last is the evolution of the project as a whole and it's always fun watching someone get a kick out of the efforts of the cinematics department improve hugely over time. The engine showcase that was released last year shows pretty much the whole SC universe and what they are building, so although it's probably a bit different to what you usually cover it's a massively impressive watch if you are interested in seeing what Star Citizen the multiplayer is building.
1:11:13 If you *really* want a Tumbril Cyclone, there's a company that did a limited run 1:40 kit model of that vehicle. Not sure if it's in stock right now however. Also another fun fact is the concept artist for the Cyclone is Gavin Rothery, better known for his production design on the film Moon. He's done a number of the ships in game and has an unmistakably cool visual style. Looking forward to part 2!
So glad you are doing this series. I get to watch all the commercials again and watch the progression of CIG's masterful advertising, and see your incredible insight!
Aloha! Fellow filmmaker here -- you might really enjoy the machinima being made in SC -- some of us have dived into the the trenches of this highly unstable, difficult tech and are making all kinds of projects, including feature-length movies! It's truly a labor of love -- personally, I average about 60-100 hours of work for each 15 mins of movie. Speaking as an ambassador of the SC machinima community and fellow filmmaker, I really think some like you would dig it. Here's a link to an Alien franchise cross-over we did, which was filmed entirely in SC (with some light 3D modeling for the Xenomorph), that takes a familiar franchise and, in this particular case, merges it with my own channel's IP a bit (blonde chick, Ava, is our most well-known character). Plenty more to explore as well, on our channel and others, if you take a liking to it. We've even got an old detective noir film. Either way, keep up the great work! ruclips.net/video/AQAZXCbVPUU/видео.htmlsi=xE56U7dBpghIIIBj
@@fnunez familiar -- love the BedBananas vid, but I prefer a more traditional-style filmmaking approach to machinima making. Although more challenging to undertake, this method allows creators to tell more nuanced stories and take a more deliberate approach to portraying their characters and world. One where people sometimes forget they're watching a video game.
The adverts vary wildly in quality as sometimes they were just what they gave to new employees to get them up to speed on the cinematics tools, lighting, and so on. Some might have been to get people up to speed on performance capture and so on. Some of the videos were also showing new features rather than being ship adverts per-se, like the mining ship where it showed the (then new) emergency lighting mode. They obviously don't always have the budget for voiceover, performance capture, and so on. Most of the music was composed by their composer Pedro Camacho. And yes, it is an MMO game where you can team up with some friends walk around in a planet, crew a ship with different roles (Pilot, Engineer, Gunner...), fly up into space, fly through a wormhole to another solar system, enter the atmosphere of another planet/moon, shoot up a pirate or corporate outpost, and fly away with some paydata and maybe some valuable cargo you've swiped along the way. All with no loading screens. You will /eventually/ be able to fly the big ships like Gary Oldman's one in the Squadron 42 video (the Bengal). They sell Gillian Anderson's ship (the Javelin) with real money, but nothing bigger. The really big ones have to be built in orbit at a space station that you also have built first. That's a lot of mining and trade. Looking forward to the next video. They took a bit of a hiatus from doing ship commercials when their video guys were busy doing Squadron, but got back to knocking it out of the park with the later Intergalactic Aerospace Expo ones. It *now* is a place in the game that you can visit, but it wasn't to start off with. That said - The game is not finished yet and the multiplayer side is still in Alpha and somewhat buggy despite having been in development for over 12 years. You can see that they're making progress with the visuals, performance and cinematics. Some gameplay loops are working but most of the gameplay focus was on the single player campaign. In the mean time they have had programmers designing and building server meshing network infrastructure that was capable of hosting whole solar systems with thousands of people all crewing their own ships and goign about their business. They finally have the server meshing tech in player's hands that allows them to have multiple servers handling the same area. Still, it's a bit buggy. I'd definitely advise backing the game, which you do by getting a ship with a game package. You will be able to buy/build any of the other released ships in game, but yes some people end up spending thousands. On that note - Shameless Refferal Link! robertsspaceindustries.com/enlist?referral=STAR-7QGF-RDYP
The actor's name you were looking for at 16:08 is Lance Henriksen. Legend of our time (80's kids) I'm ashamed to say I didn't recognise it as his until you said "Whose that voiceover?"
You nailed it on the head btw, a lot of the faces look strange and a lot of the ads are slow going, but the Anvil Arrow is defenitely one of the best if not the best
I worked with a few others on many of the commercials from 2018 to 2022 (Eclipse, Kraken, Arrow, Valkyrie and 300i here, you teased me with the Starlifter thumbnail haha) and I LOVED watching your reaction to these! Cant wait for part 2 😊
On the getting out of your ship thing probably know the answere now but yes and any time anywhere (even in the clouds.....gravity works at that height just like real life...) the clip "lost and found" is part of the game going through wrecks (all pre built for now, so same ones same places except player ships) which does have gear you can find (helmets, guns and exclusive stuff) so it is a fave thing fo my is to explore and loot wrecks. I mentioned there are player ships one fave story of my time was with one and to explain, persistence was patched in a little while ago where if you leave a can of coke on a rock in a certain place, you can come back to it (its not permanent for ever but is most of the day or such) which players ships and gear are also left behind (some times...too many) I found someones ship landed as I scanned around the mine rocks with a mining car, so I decided to have a look.... it was a Cutlass black (for those who know) back door was open....there was a ROC (mining car) so they were mining just like me. I wondered through checked the ROC all their ore! score! mines now....but let me look more. Entered the next room which is a combo cockpit and living area.....12 bottles of water scattered all over floor....with one dead spaceman in his Pembroke high heat resistance explorer space suit (I needed one) I cannot explain what happened for this person to die...but I am going to guess he died of thirst....as he was face down with nothing but empty bottles of water around him and that was a PLAYER!
The Intergalactic Aerospace Expo is an in-game event that happens every November, and runs for about a week. Each day features a different lineup of ships from one or two of the in-universe manufacturers. The location and layout of the Expo are different every year (and they haven't done the "Galactic Tour" thing in ages, but yes, you can go there in-game and see the ships up close.
They last couple of years it wasn't in different locations but in the tobin expo centre on new babbage. But there are other events throughout the year in different locations.
First of all: Thank you! I really mean it, because I love the commercials from Star Citizen, but I never saw an expert watching and commenting them ALL (I really enjoyed every minute and I'm looking forward to part two!) 🤩 As others wrote, the clips are getting better over the years, and you were right. There have been multiple teams producing the videos, not just one crew doing all. There were also some "community made" commercials from contests involved. I like that you recognized, that every "ingame" brand has its own target audience and this is implicated in the style of the commercials. And yes, absolutely, Origin Jumpworks is THE luxury brand in Star Citizen. Main characteristics are (of course) the bright, friendly, sometimes slightly sterile visual design and the materials used to show the value, but also Origin uses the best components of the class the ship is build. On the other side, you won't get much firepower and often a "waste of space" in the ships. Exactly pure luxury in space. BTW: The ingame lore tells, that the "Origin Jumpworks GmbH" was originally founded in Cologne, Germany and moved after two centuries to the Terra system. It often is seen as "The BMW of Star Citizen". cf.: BMW translated = Bavarian Motor Works sounds a little bit like "Origin Jumpworks". Another Fun Fact: "Origin Systems" was the 1980s/90s company (from 1992 a division of Electronic Arts) Chris Roberts worked for and developed the famous "Wing Commander" series - and "Digital Anvil" (cf. Anvil Aerospace) was Chris' own company where he developed "Starlancer" and "Freelancer" before the studio was bought by Microsoft. He left then, but his partner at Digital Anvil, Jörg Neumann, stayed with Microsoft to this day and is now: "Head of Microsoft Flightsimulator". 😃
1:26:00 yes, exactly. You essentially have one loading screen - when you start the game. You can transition from space to planet without loading. You fly there yourself. You land there yourself. people my argue that the so called "quantum jump" is a loading screen, but that's the "long distance" travel. Other than that, only if you die and respawn, you got another loadingscreen. Or if you leave prison and are brought to the "outside world" again (breaking out of prison has no loadingscreen too, only if you leave "legally" as that "teleports" you somewhere else).
57:55 The USRA is one of the most used small ground vehicles and this add sells it. It is used in a lot of things like small team transport, light cargo, a little rescue and collecting gear "found" on missions. Now they even have a luxury variant called the LYNX and a medical rescue one (nick named by some as the nURSA). If you haven't court on, I truly enjoy them.
Yes!!!! Loved this one just like I loved your last Star Citizen one (well technically Squadron 42) And yes to answer your questions, you can fly to planets from space all the way to land with no loading screens, there are like 275 ships in the game currently. (Be warned though the game is not the most stable experience at all times)
as a SC player myself its awesome to see all those old commercials that got me hooked on the game. Love that you are taking the time to watch these, it only gets better and better from those you allready watched here ^^
I love how nearly every "Wait can you X in the game" you asked was answerable with a "yes". Alpha 4.0 is currently in preview, once a few of the stability issues are knocked out, it's a good time to check out the game! And yes please, part 2! I've seen all of these commercials before but seeing them with your eye is really helping me appreciate them a lot more. Great content!
Development since 2012 and still not finished. That is the reason for the different quality of facial displays, shadows, and other elements. There was a good video in 2023 for SQ42 that showed a side-by-side comparison of where they have been graphically and where they are now. Still more work to come. SQ42 announced for 2026 so should see more finalized graphics for it this coming CitizenCon. As for StarCitizen. Yes, you can go from space, to planet, to inside buildings all without loading screens. The StarEngine video from 2023 is a good showcase of what the game does from a tech standpoint. CIG produces some very good hype videos for their events like Fleet Week and IAE. Those videos tend to tell a story as much as get you hyped for the event.
what's cool about the ship at the 30 min area is that the fuel bags in the back ire detachable, and there's these little ships that are like tie fighters that you can magnetize to where the fuel bags are supposed to be, essentially making this thing a makeshift aircraft carrier!
Kai, have you already got yourself hooked up with a starter ship in SC to check it out yourself? If not, I have some kicking around... Great work btw, keep it up! Love seeing professional takes on SC and SQ42.
Yeah I really love these commercials. I love the way they mimicked commercials from real life...like the "Built Ford Tough" commercials and the Top Gear show. They aren't "ripping them off". They are doing an homage to those familiar shows and commercials which is very flattering if you are the one being imitated. My favorite is the "Constellation Aquilla" commercial. Very scifi. The wink at 2001 and the Star Trek series plots. And yes you will hear a lot of familiar voices in Star Citizen since they have gotten so many celebrities to get involved. To answer your question...YES...to buy ships you go to a dealer for that manufacturer and they usually have a show room where you can look at the different option in real time. Some of the commercials you watched were during the Ship Exo's also, where they market and show existing, as well as new upcoming ship offers. As far as the game, it's truly a real world sandbox game where you can take off in a ship from planet side, fly up through the atmosphere into space, speed jump to another planet in the system, and then fly down to the planet surface in real time all without any cut scenes or without transitioning to the planet surface through a whole different instance. It's all done in real time. That's what makes Star Citizen unique.
@@kaizammit I also hope you'll get around to this even if you don't make a video about it. It's an absolutely beautiful watch I think you'd really get a kick out of it.
This is arguably THE BEST VIDEO that CIG ever made for the game. At least, it has the potential to be the most engaging/moving. I think you will appreciate this one: ruclips.net/video/olxI7X7eac8/видео.htmlsi=-UMx4yzX568kHGDO
This was a joy to watch! And really shows the progression. There was a few times during ~2016-2019 where the cinematics team were fully focused on Squadron 42, so the ship commercials took a back-seat. So those simple basic ads with no voiceover are usually just cranked out in a day (probably without any cinematic team involved). Some of my favorite commercials are still coming up, so really excited to see you react to them! :D
The Intergalactic Aerospace Expo is an annual in-game event. Happens every November, and the in game location rotates between the four major cities in the Stanton system. Every May, there's another more military focused event called Invictus Launch Week. Both events last a little over a week, and yes, you can walk the convention floor in game.
Yes! The expo's an in-game event where you can walk around the ships on display, go inside them and even rent the flyable ones 48 hours for ¢ 0, so no need for those clips to go into specifics. There are even side rooms with display cases showing wire frame models of concept ships that are not finished for physical display yet. As there are hundreds of ships in the game, the expo is over some dusin days with different manufacturers each day (which is why there are so many episodes of Galactic Tour about it). Got to put it out there as well, some of the other ads have very little information because they're teasers for people already knowing about the ship - often released before the ship is officially announced. Also, the gigantic ship you wondered if you can fly, the answer is Soon (tm) - they are absolutely meant to be accessible and flyable by players, but will likely not be available to many.
20:37 - Both. That clip was from an era when CIG used these ads not just to promote the particular ship, but also gameplay concepts. And it worked. Back then we dissected these videos to get an idea what certain gameplay roles could look like. These were days before procedural planets and I remember that many believed this ad confirmed procedural planets.
I will say, rewatching all these commercials again, with someone knowledgable is pretty cool, both get hit with "I remember when this came out" and useful information!
Your character exists as an individual in the Star Citizen universe, so yes you can walk into these ships and fly them. They have certainly improved over the years in terms of cinematics and the designs of the ships, each brand with its own language and feel. Looking forward to part 2 of this video!
Thanks for doing this, it was great to hear your thoughts as a filmmaker . Also in game they hold conventions at huge convention centers where ship makers show off their ships, you can get inside of them, open cargo doors etc, its pretty cool
Hopefully you end up getting to see ALL the Jax McCleary videos. Won't have any way of knowing if they all made your playlist till we see part 2. They are some of the best video they've put out as a company and are worthy of their own viewing. That and the Star Engine trailer would probably just be an hour of eye candy you could sit back and enjoy.
As someone who has been with this project for over 12 years, done the conventions and all. Watching this is just amazing, to see that first time reaction, brings back so many fond memories of having been there myself.
Can't wait for the second part! If I may suggest one thing for the order: Put the 2024 "RSI Polaris" commercial last to end on a high note - at least to me, that's the absolute highlight of all of the commercials. Crazy cinematic (including the aspect ratio). It's also one of the latest from end of November 2024. If someone thinks another is even better, please add it here :-). Edit: And yes, since end of last year, you can walk around in and fly that huge ship in game. Should be manned with 3-6 people though to be fun. When it was available to buy for real money (limited and not buyable now), it cost something like 1500 $, but it will be buyable ingame at some point. It's the largest currently in game, but there are quite a few other large ships that you can easily get lost in 😅.
Another reason for the quality differences is, that some were meant as commercials, and some were just design/wip/release teasers to show to the players. The idea about the story commercials was to make commercials as if they were real ads inside the game world. As if they were made by the ship manufacturers. The origin ads for instance are meant to mimic BMW ads as origin is a luxury ship builder. And every manufacturer has his own design language. In the ships and the commercials. Also some videos were just made to show off new game or ship features, or to show updated versions of older ships because they had to rework some ships several times to get them to the same quality as the newest ships, and make them fit for the newest game features. Those videos are most of the "only music and moving camera" ones.
Love how you twigged to the fact that all the manufacturers have consistent brand identities (can't wait to see you react to the 890 Jump advert, it's a short film unto itself). Origin is the luxury brand, RSI and MISC are the workhorse companies, Anvil and Crusader are the defense contractors with civilian sales, Drake Interplanetary is the home of plausible deniability.
The Spaceship Expo is a real place in game that is updated to the latest or recurring ship themes from various companies. And also serves as the dealer to rent/buy ships that you want or need for tasks. Also, these expos are multiplayer friendly so you also have a sense of urgency to buy the ships you are tracking before they actually get sold out 🤣
Some of these are First Look renderings of vehicles, which are the ones that tend to just be circling around a ship without any dialogue. Some of these are actual in-universe commercials, which tend to be the ones with voiceover. And then we have Whitley's Guide, which replaced Galaxy Gear as their take on Top Gear.
The really important points aobut this vids /commercials are, they are all produced InEngine. You can see the age if you compare the particles, faces, detailgrade and so many other stuff. There are different Ship company teams, every ingame company has a team behind it, they are like real life different brands. Thats why you see so much differences in the commercials. The Galactic Tour for the Expo is a real thin ingame, on week every year we get a expo ingame to visit and snoop arround seeing all ships, new ones and the old ones. You could even do your own videos ingame, cause RSI gave us players tools for camera control and other stuff so we can do movie like videos about our adventures, there are player Organisations out there who produce real TV series about there adventures.
The guy in the commercial at 27:10 is supposed to be modeled after Howard Hughes the "father" of modern aviation. The lore behind his company is very similar to Howard's story.
The zoom outs on the 4th one is like a thing u see pretty often in DCS dogfight cinematics but it looks much better when 2 planes are shooting at each other
It's fun watching the old commercials to see how they got better as time got on and tech and ship designs (and redesigns) advanced alongside them. I still love the old Freelancer commercial. Something about that guitar strumming and the voice over just sells it for me.
Yes, you can absolutely fly just about anywhere, get out of your ship, and explore. There are no loading screens, either. There are so many more cinematics and videos out there for Star Citizen and Squardron 42 worth checking out too!! Keep em coming, I'm really enjoying your videos.
1:26:02 - Yes, you can. No loading screens anywhere, You can get up from your bed in an apartment on a planet, walk to the public transit station, take the transit to the space port, go to your hangar, take off, fly around the entire planet, go into space, take "quantum jump" to a nearby moon or faraway planet, fly around that plant descent to the city, leave your ship, leave your hangar, take the transit from the spaceport to the city, walk around, explore and so on -- without any loading screens. As of Alpha 4.0 you can even fly through a wormhole to another star system. You really need to watch the star engine presentation ;)
during the Starfarer advert you mentioned music and it is one of Star Citizen's strong points thanks to Pedro Macedo Camacho, has done some absolutely beautiful stuff for CIG and yes IAE, the expo is something we can visit and walk around in game, its an annual event and yes there are ship dealers in the game. yes you can get out of your ship and walk around
Love that you're reviewing these commercials! So some of these are made as adverts that can show up in-game, made to look like ads, but others were made to show off to fans which mix in in-game footage and some new features into the game, so not quite as impressive but cool for the time. Every ship you see is a ship you either can fly now, or will be able to in the future. The largest one seen here the "Bengal Carrier" is the largest player flyable ship in the game, not available yet, and requires a crew of over 400, it will pretty much be org exclusive ships. The future plans for Star Citizen is to have large orgs be able to build these ships for use. Currently you cannot buy a Bengal Carrier, the largest ship players can buy is the "Javelin Destroyer" which is a smaller capital class ship which costs over $2500 real cash to buy. Only sold during very specific events and are limited in number and usually sell out within 60 seconds of going online. It's pretty ridiculous but all ships will be craftable/buyable in-game eventually. The Galactic Gear and Galactic Tour segments are of course based on Top Gear and Grand Tour, it's very funny and a highlight for players. The Intergalactic Aerospace expo is a real place in-game. It happens every year in November, the locations aren't exactly the same in the game as it is in the adverts for the early episodes but later on they match the locations. There are in-game ship dealers you can walk around some of the ships to look at before you buy. They sell ships for real money, but you can buy them in-game after a 3-month exclusive window for purchases, though not every ship is available in-game currently. You can leave your ship, you can land anywhere on a planet. Actually it goes even further than that, the first time you log in, and you pick your starting location, if you chose a city on a planet you need to catch public transport before you can get to your ship. I have missed many a train or shuttle by a hair and had to wait for the next one. That ship in the sand shown in the add at 55:40 odd is the Wreck of the Javelin class Destroyer the "UEES Flyssa" lost in an accident and left abandoned on a desert moon called Daymar. You can travel to it if you know the wreck location. Mining in Star Citizen has one of the more developed gameplay loops, you need to scan around a planet/moon/asteroid field to locate a minable resource, then you need to set mining power and balance it so it's not done too hot to overheat and potentially detonate the resource (which can lead to ship damage/destruction). Once mined you can deliver the raw ore to a station or planet that needs it to be sold off, or you can pay for it to be refined at a refinery. Once refined, you then use a cargo vessel to deliver the refined material to wherever needs it for a higher profit. Eventually these resources will be used for crafting and will be required to build outposts and ships. You can travel from on-foot through a city, into the sky, out to space, across the system, and now into a whole new solar system without a single loading screen. It's absolutely incredible tech. A lot of what you see in these ads are captured in-game, the nicer looking ones are built in-engine. Cannot wait to see part 2!
The Galactic Aerospace Expo is an in game expo they hold every year at one of the landing zones (cities on a planet). Each year, during this event, different ship manufacturers are hosted each day, usually with a two day spotlight so they overlap. You can rent any ship you see on the floor (that isn't a hologram) because it is already in game ready to fly. The rental is free, and usually the show runs during a free fly event so players without a game package yet can experience the 'verse in Star Citizen and try before you buy. As for ships being bought in game or with cash, the option is yours, somewhat. Many ships can be bought with credits you earn in game, but some are still restricted to cash "pledges" before they become available to buy in game. The pledges are ships you keep even after an economy wipe during development, but anything you earn or buy in game is lost. These wipes used to be every quarter but their aim is to cut them back as much as possible. There was a period of I think two years that we didn't have a wipe once. If you want to experience the game for the first time, you can wait for a free fly event, or just buy a starter package for as little as $45 US. A package requires you to get a ship, and the game's electronic access license. You can buy more expensive ships if you don't mind starting with a higher cost, but just because you spend more up front doesn't mean you're going to get the best experience or rule over other players. Veteran "zero to hero" players can easily earn a lot of credits in a short few weeks to buy even the most expensive ships in the game.
The Polaris was just released to use for playdrs ingame. Its majestic and epic. Absolutely love it. The game is in alpha and has more or less bugy updates. But every Moment in this game is Screenshot worthy.
Star Citizen feels like a "Have your own spaceship simulator" and it exels at that. It really gives you the feeling of owning your own spacecraft. In gameplay and gameplay loops on the other hand it's still quite bad and broken, nothing really works consistently. But if you want to own and fly a spaceship, which really feels like it's made for you, it's great. The commercials are not wrong, feels good to have a ship like these, especially the ones you really like. They are beauties and also the sound design is fantastic.
Yes, you can fly the Polaris and walk around its fully designed interior. Yes, you can walk around the IEA in the game. It takes place every year, near the end of November. It is also usually a 'free fly' where you can play Star Citizen for free. Yes, you can fly planetside and walk around. Yes, mined materials are taken to refineries, and then the refined material can be sold.
Part 2 please! Loved seeing the older ones too but the newer ones are just on another level.
Next week hopefully!
Its intweresting to see the grafik progress. And when ships get redone and with that a new add.
Oh yes. You can tell really well how the graphics engine, but also the techniques used in making the commercials evolved over time.
@@eve-llblyat2576 i would love to see a redone ad for each redone ship! can you imagine a redone ad for the 600i
@@kaizammit cant wait that long😝
More Star Citizen content LETS GOOOOOO
Yessss!
You should also view the video that shows the flythrough of the game. Not sure if I can put the link here.
did he look at the New Engine Reveal Video already? If not, that could be interesting as well.
🎉🎉 pretty psyched about it too
The Anvil Carrack commercial had me rushing out to buy one.
The Star Engine Trailer was so nice! I really hope he sees the improvements in the graphics while going through the videos.
I 100% agree, the star engine trailer is the perfect way to see what the game is about, what the playspace look like and get it in a cinematic package wich is what @kai Zammit specialise in!
It's a must to see for him as it's a 20min sequence shot really impressive
That sounds so cool to me. Love this!
Not sure if you had a reply
But you can fly land walk around in most places. Arc corp the city planet you can only in a small area
On a test server you can get to a 2nd more lawless system called pyro.
@@kaizammit
Also in March (Maybe April, the robertsspaceindustried website would tell you) is Invictus week (Fleet Week). It's another expo but features the Military ships, so you will see fewer than IAE. I think there are other free fly (Free to try) events but I don't remember when off hand.
@philbradley5366 you're out of date. Pyro is now live.
"Can you get out of your ship?" Absolutely! All of it. Flying down, landing, getting out of your seat, walking through your ship and out of it straight onto the planet/moon. Nothing like it. its a buggy mess, but its our beautiful buggy mess lol
I always say Star Citizen is "a beautiful disaster" but it is slowly & steadily getting better.
@@PaulMEdwards i think i'll be dead before that thing leaves Alpha. I still have a MS Sidewinder in a box somewhere that I bought when I Kickstarted.
Squadron 42= single player
Star citizen = multi-player
As for the game, yes, you can seamlessly transition between space, atmo, in ship, on foot, in vehicles, etc.
When it works its glorious and I love it. When it doesn't work oh boy it doesn't work 😂
the jumpgate is a loading screen, though.
@mineking298 if you mean to Pyro, you still need to pilot in side warp. If you mean while on quantum it's not you're literally moving across the world in real time. If anything you just need to render shit once you get to where you're at, still not a loading screen though
@mineking298 no it's not
@@mineking298 Its not a loading screen, It is another playspace where you have to manually pilot the ship and other functions like multicrew and players walking around your ship still works. It has the use of a loading screen where it loads out Stanton assets and loads in Pyro assets, but it is still always in game stuff, no loss of control at any point. It is changing servers as well however that is a mostly seamless transition where the only pause you will see is just desync
Also note: Most of these ads are done completely in the Star Citizen game engine.
The game is beautiful, faces on the Models however could use some work.
They have gotten some, those ads are farely old@@kaizammit
@@kaizammit These ads have been released over the course of 10 years. Therefore the later the ad is the better they look generally.
That is absolutely not true, only the later ones are
@@raven1227 They've all been in-engine since the beginning.
The ship that rotates around that you remarked reminded you of star wars, was concepted by the artist who also made the B-Wing in Star Wars.
Next week hopefully fella!
They actually *do* have these commercials running at various places in-game.
YES! the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo is an actual expo that you get to go to IN-GAME! you should join us for the one in a few months.
thanks again for doing these, it is great to get your input as someone in the field.
Cloud Imperium Games, CIG, is headquartered in Manchester, maybe you could pay them a visit and maybe make a few commercials or in-game content for us.
YES! you can also fly down to any planet or moon and get out and explore on the surface, in structures and in caves. in space you can also EVA and explore derelicts in zero-g
YES! the way the ships look in the commercials, is the same way that they ships look in game, because the commercials are all made in-engine (though the engine has improved and so have their textures and processes).
@@Storm-Cleaver i know, it's still an expo that he can experience in-game, which was my point.
Greatest game ever…. When it works. Lol players will get this.
Hahaha hes actually doing the adverts!
Brilliant
You asked... I listened
@@kaizammit Well listen to this:
Do the rest of the adverts.
@TheLichruler they've done an asmr video haha! Asmr is fantastic for sound designers. I'll see if I leave it in.
@@kaizammit by the way , you are probably familiar with Jax's actor , Jonathan Booth , hes been in British tv industry for longer than ive been alive lol
Oh my, I have been waiting for this and I'm glad you actually did it! Definitely gonna keep a look out for the rest.
There's another video coming hopefully next week with the rest of the ads. I'm very excited to see them. Also, I listen to you guys a lot when it comes to deciding what content you would like to watch.
@kaizammit also, for the Grand tour videos, they were made for the International Aerospace Expo to showcase the ships the dev have created and implemented into the game that are ready to fly. This year would be IAE 2955 and be held in November. During this time you can try the game for free and each day is dedicated to a specific manufacturer where you can rent the ships for free to play and fly around with.
And yes, you can walk around the expo hall and view the ships (even board them and rent them).

I second this! I was waiting for the Starlifter and Firebird commercials.
we finally got it, I am excited to watch them all now we have both parts
"I love the design of these aircrafts
The 300 series from Origin has gone through MASSIVE design changes. This will be the case for most of the earliest ships you see in the first few of these ads.
The standard for ship design has changed massively over the years of CIG's work.
Some of these ships are gorgeous and there's another video of them to go yet, crumbs!
@@ScientistMan96 The redesign looks like something that an Apple designer would make. I prefer the more rugged designs myself.
@ It does fit the car designer theme, though.
"Hey, you know that nice, structurally protective roof on the car? Yeah, we're going to just remove that and put custom fitted glass there instead."
"What do you mean you literally never look backwards out the roof of your car? It's a perfectly good design."
"Oh, that nice, giant cargo door that gave easy access to the entire interior?
You've sold it to me!
1:12:30 There are currently 252 ships and vehicles in Star Citizen, about 195 are flyable as of now.
That big Ship is called the Bangual and yes it is flyable and walkable. we don't entirely know if you can own it but maybe in the future. And yes, everywhere you see is most likely a place you can go.
I love how at the start of the video you were pointing out the explosions as poor looking and then towards the end saying how real they looked
34:00 - Yes, that's what the game looks like when you play it. In fact, most all these commercials fairly represent in-game graphics.
Crazy to watch the really old trailer/commercials, the game is so different to day.
*Edit*
I dont know where my previous comment went.
They even have some details out about him, like where he was born and who his father was (first governor of his homeworld)
Also yes, that absolutely was Lance Henriksen (Bishop from Alien) who voiced the Freelancer ad. I wish we had more from him and other distinctive, well-known voices, but it's still fun.
Questions answered, pretty much yes to everything, no loading screens, go everywhere, do anything, Loads of ships available in game.
and yes you will be able to fly even the biggest ones yourself in the future ;)
that mustang Commerical makes me cry every time i watch it. at like 27:00. oh man its been so long since I was still just a kid who just became a father, dreaming of playing the best damn space game ever.
The best way I can sell Star Citizen is by telling a story:
You wake up in a bed in your apartment, after getting dressed you leave and go to the lobby.
Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but i shutter to think about how many loading screens it would take to do that in Starfield
( Sorry for the poorly written english, french fan over there ! )
To answer the question you had:
No, sadly, the adverts are not in game currently, except in IAE (Intergalactic Aerospace Expo).
Also, yes - you can walk in most ships. Fly somewhere (anywhere you want), land and walk around.
they play in the bars sometimes
They do sometimes. Only during certain events though.
Its very funny how I was just thinking about if you had made this video or not just 5 minutes ago and then I reload the page and here it is!
Thank you for showing me these old commercials, I've never seen them before. Can't wait for part 2
The IAE or Inter galactic aerospace expo is indeed an annual in game event.
There are also other events on various planets throughout the year.

A fun mixture of machinima and gameplay are the videos by BedBananas. The War for Jumptown is a very popular one.
That's so cool to hear! Part 2 I filmed today so hopefully in a few days time fella!
@@kaizammit Awesome!
I mentioned there are player ships one fave story of my time was with one and to explain, persistence was patched in a little while ago where if you leave a can of coke on a rock in a certain place, you can come back to it (its not permanent for ever but is most of the day or such) which players ships and gear are also left behind (some times...too many)
I found someones ship landed as I scanned around the mine rocks with a mining car, so I decided to have a look.... it was a Cutlass black (for those who know) back door was open....there was a ROC (mining car) so they were mining just like me.
I've been waiting for a video like this ever since I saw your SQ42 react!!
First of all: Thank you! I really mean it, because I love the commercials from Star Citizen, but I never saw an expert watching and commenting them ALL (I really enjoyed every minute and I'm looking forward to part two!) 🤩
As others wrote, the clips are getting better over the years, and you were right.
Yes!!!! Loved this one just like I loved your last Star Citizen one (well technically Squadron 42)
And yes to answer your questions, you can fly to planets from space all the way to land with no loading screens, there are like 275 ships in the game currently. (Be warned though the game is not the most stable experience at all times)
But it is getting there
as a SC player myself its awesome to see all those old commercials that got me hooked on the game. Love that you are taking the time to watch these, it only gets better and better from those you allready watched here ^^
Subscibed after you reacted to the Squadron 42 gameplay/movie intro. Been waiting for this!
Thank you for being here!
Yes, you can actually walk around the aerospace expo. You can explore the ships, you can even rent them and test them out.
Looking forward to part 2! They really have upped their game in recent years.
Coming next week!
Always loved these commercials, they put a LOT of effort and creativity on the majority of these.
Can't wait for part 2, with more recent ships !
yeah you really need to watch the star engine video, it'll blow you away!
what's cool about the ship at the 30 min area is that the fuel bags in the back ire detachable, and there's these little ships that are like tie fighters that you can magnetize to where the fuel bags are supposed to be, essentially making this thing a makeshift aircraft carrier!
Kai, have you already got yourself hooked up with a starter ship in SC to check it out yourself? If not, I have some kicking around... Great work btw, keep it up! Love seeing professional takes on SC and SQ42.
I've not looked into this game yet as in me playing it. Where would I get it in case one wants to dabble?
@@kaizammit has seen 3 hours of commercials and asks where to get it :) I'm sure you'll figure it out 😂
It's only on their website address!?
@@kaizammit I sent you a couple emails with some details and my info to help out. o7
@@kaizammit yup, no Steam or Epic or anything. It's all funded by the players, so it's only on there
Yeah I really love these commercials.
PLEASE REACT TO THE STAR ENGINE DEMO
Noted!
Should watch the Star Citizen Aegis Inquisitor fan ship commercial! Short story and all
Another reason for the quality differences is, that some were meant as commercials, and some were just design/wip/release teasers to show to the players.
Thank you for doing this about my fav game! I'm learning so much from you! Yes these commercials are for in-game events that we attend♥
You really need to watch the star engine presentation ;)
during the Starfarer advert you mentioned music and it is one of Star Citizen's strong points thanks to Pedro Macedo Camacho, has done some absolutely beautiful stuff for CIG
and yes IAE, the expo is something we can visit and walk around in game, its an annual event
and yes there are ship dealers in the game.
yes you can get out of your ship and walk around
I've always loved these commercials, but your insight has taken my appreciation to another level! Great commentary, thanks!
