The moment he said “…plan 99.” I knew what was going to happen. The fact that they made a Plan 99 as the code for making the ultimate sacrifice for your brothers hit me so much harder than I could have expected. I spent the rest of the episode (and several moments through out my day) in tears. Doubling up the loss of Tech with the loss of their namesake was so unfair lol And then having Omega actually experience the loss of one of her brothers, after seeing how much having them only temporarily leaving hurt her…ugh! How is this more mature and emotionally devastating than the live action shows?! Clone Wars, Rebels, and now Bad Batch outclassing the live action counterparts time and time again, you’d think I’d be used to it by now!
There’s another theory that I really wanna accept. Plan 99 is never given a name, plan 88 was named seeker, so plan 99 could be named as “hider”, wrecker/hunter/omega/echo may have not heard him and so think he’s dead.
Why grief when we all know they gonna being him back lol. They just gonna show that he fallen into water or used his jetpack. "No oNe'S eVeR rEalLy gOnE"
Tech's Death isn't just gonna go down as an incredible memorable Clone Death, but it'll go down as a sacrifice to save the lives of those he loves, along with legends such as Obi-Wan & Kanan. RIP Tech, aka Brown Eyes, aka Goggles. You will be missed.
@@DazHotep6EQUJ5 Same. Without all the stuff with Tech "filler" or not, I wouldn't have felt the emotional gut punch that came with seeing him die. I didn't care for Tech all that much before this season, he quickly grew to my favourite
@@jayden.188 Exactly, that's why filler is such a bullshit opinion. I don't agree with the idea that if an episode doesn't propel the story forward it is a pointless episode or a bad one. If you love a franchise and enjoy the stories why cant someone enjoy a self contained story in that franchise? Its more of the universe you know and love and it serves a purpose. Tech was my favourite from season 1. I love how logical and almost callous he was. He has one of the best lines in Star Wars too. Man I really hope he survived.
@@_PK777_ Any episode with a character in which something happens is character development by adding to the lived experiences of the characters. It doesn't have to be an emotional rollercoaster or reveal things about someone. And it doesn't have to be exclusively about character development for it to have any worth. A self contained adventure is what it was, yes it didn't exactly further the story but it gave us more of Phe and the batch which is always welcome. I will die on the hill that says filler is a bullshit argument.
The jedi were victims to their own dogma and hubris pretty much. But the Clones have always been the tools of others. They gotta be the most tragic characters in Star Wars. Humans born to be used then thrown away.
Just tho think on the sacrifice of the original 99, or Jesse's helmet along all the helmets of those who days before painted them orangevin honor to Ahsoka to die trying to kill her after order 66, the field of graves and helmets on sticks brings my heart to tears, and this season had me first with Mayday on The Outpost and now Tech!
Although Dave has done plenty of great things for Star Wars, Jennifer Corbett and Keith Kellogg are the ones to thank here. Dave created the premise of TBB but these two have been in charge of how the series goes.
About the googles, Hemlock didn't say that they were all they could find, he said "all that we could salvage," and the googles were badly broken. I believe the implication is that Tech splattered on impact, and besides the train car would have squished him. I'm pretty sure Tech is dead for good, bringing him back would feel way too cheap.
See, you have a point, and that would make sense given how Tech and the car fell, assuming he didn't pull some mid-flight shenanigans. However, at this point I have the same rule for Star Wars as I have for Marvel: If you don't see a body, don't assume they're dead. Especially with Hemlock's hyper focus on using clones, especially unique ones, for whatever purpose. I think if they do it right, they could do something with it. However, of course, keeping him dead is also extremely effective for the purpose of the future of the show, so I'm good either way, as long as it's handled correctly.
But if hemlock brought Tech back in a frankin stain type of way maybe using his brain to control dark troopers In The same way echo was used by the techno Union I think that would be a good way to bring him back
Im pretty sure they didn't show the body to maintain the character's dignity and dramatic effect. Just like Han Solo's death when he falls to the smoke
Incredible episodes. Heartbreaking finale. The Bad Batch Season 1 and 2 have really impacted me, and I believe have had some of the greatest Star Wars drama/character depth. Can't wait to see where season 3 goes, I am all in!
Season 3 will be Omega and and Crosshair working together while Hunter, Wrecker and Echo will try to find them. I feel like when Crosshair learns Tech died sacrificing himself to save the group who were trying to find him to save him, it will destroy crosshair. That will push Crosshair across the line and he will rejoin the group and go all vengeance mode on the empire.
And Wrecker had to watch his brother die to his greatest fear. Falling. - I also have to agree that Tech is dead. He wouldn't leave his goggles behind. His helmet or pack, sure, but not his goggles. His fall seems like something only a force user could have the potential to survive.
@@yeetydiamond3437 we seen them use thruster packs in the past. Still they can easily explain it by saying he used his grappling hook to slow down his fall. Even him simply falling into the water would be enough for a kids show. It's Disney SW after all. You can get stabbed with a light saber 2x and you can walk it off like Riva. U can get cut in half and u gonna be fine. U can get shot point blank and they just gonna give u mechanicals insides or stick u inside a bactatank Disappearing in fog? Yeah... he's alive and we all know it.
feel like we'll see a different side of Hunter next time we see him, throughout the season he didn't know where the bad batch belonged, but now he has a purpose.. to find Omega no matter what
I hope not but I have the feeling that this show will make a dark turn. Omega will die and the survivors of the bad batch will start a private War with the empire and will die in the process.
Nah, there’s too much potential with Omega in future storylines that they’ll keep her alive, crosshair and the other adults in the squad will likely die in the clone uprising along with most of Rex’s rebels.
That moment got me. I don't know why, but that was way sadder than anything I've seen Star Wars-related in recent years. And in the German dub, all of them are voiced by the guy who also does Temuera Morrison's voice throughout the franchise, so the impact was even more severe. Personally, I don't think Tech is coming back. Emerie Karr could potentially replace him, now that she is revealed to be a clone too. I did see this coming. What convinced me ultimately was the empathy she showed towards Crosshair when he gets captured. Only another clone would show it so openly while employed by the Empire.
Tech went out like a boss. No overdramatic speech, no "the line snaps at the last second before he gets on". Tech knew he was dead anyway, he knew what he had to do, and he does it without hesitation. What a guy.
My favourite member of the Bad Batch, gone. One of my favourite lines in all of Star Wars was said by Tech. ''Understanding you does not mean I agree with you.''
@@samuraibirds917 Yep, it applies so well to so many characters in Star Wars. It also needs to be understood by most of the population of the world nowadays. You can listen to someone and what they have to say and disagree with them. No need to just ignore and label people so you don't have to engage in conversation or debate with them. When I heard Tech say that line he was solidified as my favourite. I thought to myself that you cant disagree with something you don't understand, in order to be able to disagree you have to first understand.
@@DazHotep6EQUJ5 Agreed. As someone who gave psychosocial support to refugees in the past I love Saw as a character due too his realistic actions. Although his actions are repetitive, it still applies very much in the real world. Remind you that he was one of the first characters that caused the spark of the Rebellion due too his actions on Onderon. He later parted ways with the Rebellion due too his extreme tactics which cared little for collateral damage. Those tactics also caused him to lose his sister blinding him with anger, rage and regret. His character reminds me of Pain from Naruto whom I wrote about years ago in college. Pain lost so much due too other parties who destroyed his nation, that he ultimately became the very thing he hated. Blinded by those emotions he took out not only high ranking opponents but also civilians. Its similair too the refugees I helped from AF and ME and during my time in those places. I've met people who lost their siblings, parents or friends in U.S. airstrikes and during civil war. They were never compensated for those losses, instead they felt attacked by a foreign entity who either directly attacked them or deliberately set up locals against eachother but they did not seek revenge. That's why I love Saw's character and Star Wars. You're no different from the empire once you act like them. In the real world, we might see ourselves as the rebels but who says that we're not the empire and the real rebels are the people we invaded in the name of democracy and freedom while we all knew that national resources were looted and the wrong parties were given financial support which sparked even more division and terror amongst the local population, even locking up those who say the truth (Assange). Anyone, literally anyone can become a rebel or someone who inflicts extreme terror when they go through injustice inflicted by others, especially foreign entities. Saw is a product of his environment, he might be repetitive but his character is as real as it gets. Steela kept him in line, she saw the bigger picture but once he lost her, those uncontrollable feelings only fed his hunger for extreme tactics. Logic is thrown out of the window and the only thing that matters is inflicting damage irregardless of the civilian casualties. That's the irony of men. We're all sad and angry about Techs death being caused by Saw but in reality, from his perspective, it was the Batch that sabotaged his mission. We as the spectators witnessed Tech's story, his highs and his lows but if we never were introduced to his character, we would've cared less for his death. One of my favorite quotes from Tech "Understanding you does not mean that I agree with you" also applies to Saw. His character is so realistic and I understand him but I'd never agree with his actions. Crosshair in the beginning had no doubts when it came to murdering refugees from Saw's camp. People at that time understood Saw's method but we as an audience get attached to the Batch's stories and we are able to see that those methods of Saw are not as justified as he himself claims to be.
This hit hard, just when you thought it couldn't get worse, it does. I'm so happy this show is getting better and better as time goes on and validates our time watching
Yeah, Omega’s ten years older than the BB since she was born naturally w/o the age acceleration. They cheated with the age acceleration of five years from baby to adult.
I really like that they never try to portray omega as one of those op sassy adult-like characters... she's just a vulnerable naive and emotional child, and all her behaviour/reactions fits.
It's just even sadder... Wrecker watched Tech die from his greatest fear. And they didn't even get time to mourn him properly... They had to run from the Empire just after they made it out...
I haven’t been this angry about a clone death since Jesse (I know that’s more recent than most I get pretty angry at clone deaths). “When have we ever followed orders” broke me. I know he’s probably not dead but still
I feel like Hemlock has him. He obviously found Tech because he has the goggles. He’s probably in stasis or a bacta tank or something. Hemlock was just using the broken goggles to taunt the Bad Batch
If it’s revealed that Tech survived, I’m done with Star Wars 😂 He fell literally thousands of feet and would’ve been crushed by the rail car. Even water couldn’t save you from a fall that high. Hemlock was definitely talking literally. Don’t ruin Tech’s sacrifice and that great scene
@@josephwantock1993 all u seen is fog, you don't even know how high they were. We all know they gonna being him back lol. They just gonna show that he fallen into water or used his jetpack. "No oNe'S eVeR rEalLy gOnE" in Disney SW
@@Pir-o Not true. There was a moment in the episode where Wrecker looked down and you could see how high up they were, I’d say at least 10,000 feet straight in the air. That is certain death. And recent Star Wars has killed off plenty of characters. The same can also be said of Legends. They resurrected characters too lol
Piro has a point, all you see is fog. He however is wrong about not knowing how high they are. They are pretty damn high up. Anything could have been directly under the cloud cover tho
@@CoolGamer-qz5zp He created the original premise so is credited first as the creator, but others like Keith Kellogg (animation director) and Jennifer Corbett (head writer and executive producer) are the ones who are in charge of how the series goes now that Filoni is more preoccupied with live action.
Not only that but he was still tied to it, if the train car were to hit some trees or something else on the way down there's a decent chance he could get tossed around like a ragdoll or slammed into it or something else. Then again he's super smart so would hopefully disconnected his grapple, but who knows.
Man, I cried for Tech. Before these episodes I was just thinking about how much I liked Tech as a character and how instrumental he was to every mission. I didn’t think I would get this emotional over him, but this hit hard. Also, on a personal note, I didn’t know if I was reading too much between the lines here but I really appreciate the subtleties of Tech and how his character kind of seems to be Autistic at times, what with missing social cues, but that it makes him all the more endearing because of it. Another example is when him and Omega are in the cave talking about when Echo left and Tech says “I may process moments and thoughts differently, but it does not mean I feel any less than you.” I thought that was a great explanation Autism in a good learning format. Also another point I picked up on was the fact that, in a sense, Omega has 2 dads, Tech and Hunter, 3 if you include Echo and Wrecker always felt like an older brother. It’s kind of a wholesome way to give more representation to maybe a same sexed parenthood without over complicating things by introducing sexuality into everything and muddying up ppls perspectives. It’s just vague enough that I was able to appreciate it without it causing any issues with certain groups of people. I’d say the Bad Batch season 2 has really surprised me with its episodes and I am looking forward to season 3. I think the writers did a great job with this show, whether I assumed more or not.
The fact that they only found Tech's goggles tells me one of three things: 1. He's alive and surviving on his own. 2. He's alive and got captured by the Empire. 3. He died, which normally would be the only logical outcome, but they couldn't find anything other than the goggles. I find it very hard to believe that Tech's body, armor, weapons, etc. would have been completely destroyed yet his goggles remained almost completely intact.
Hemlock didn’t say the goggles was all they could find, he said they “were all he could salvage”. As morbid as it sounds, Tech’s body likely exploded on impact from that high in the air coupled with the rail car likely landing on top of him. Tech is definitely dead
They didn’t out right say it was the only thing they could find. Hemlock said it was the only thing salvageable which pretty much means he hit the ground and went splat. He was also attached to the train car which would’ve crushed him
@@iangill3695 This is true and a possibility, but Hemlock is also a master manipulator so it possible Tech could be alive and he worded it that way on purpose to manipulate Hunter into giving him what he wants. Iirc off screen deaths for major clone characters have never really been a thing for animated starwars content besides I think Gregor and Jesse (But you also saw them "Die" in ways that didnt leave much to the imagination) but even then they weren't exactly pivotal characters. I also doubt Tech is stupid enough to remain attached to the rail car as it fell.
Saw Gerrera is super interesting. He's so committed to his cause that he fails to see other possibilities. But ironically he's always so close to being right. Here he could have decimated Imperial leadership by taking out Krennic, Tarkin and Hemlock. Other times he is so close to finding out about the Death Star, or the need to confront the Empire before it gets too strong. He just takes things to the extreme and his unwillingness to compromise leads him down a dark path, same with Luthen perhaps. But it's pretty interesting insight into isolated rebel cells trying to make a difference but not yet united or willing to come together, just like in real life.
If the bad batch hadn't disturbed his plans, and he'd taken out both Tarkin and Krennic, would the death star even have been built? I couldn't let go of thought that they inadvertently saved project star dust.

Nah fuck her. She’s been screwing over the BB since the scavenging Ep. Since then, she’s been ignorant, uncaring, cruel, and now a sellout. They saved her from her old rivals and this is how she repays them? I hope she gets her comeuppance in S3. Honestly, she would deserve it
My theory is that season 3 is just one big clone uprising lead by the Bad Batch but it's against Mount Tantiss. I had a feeling we'd lose Tech for a while now, still part of me feels like he's alive and either escaped or captured.
41:35 Or Emerie and Omega could have been created at the same time - make two copies, tweak one girl with accelerated aging and not the other, compare the results over time.
Ok. I know I just left a comment, but watching your stunned silence brought the tears back to my eyes after actually watching this episode. I know how much you guys love Star Wars, and you are far more familiar with all the animated series, and the lore in general, than I am (although I have watched all of the Bad Batch), but I'm feeling this with you guys.
Now it makes sense that the Bad Batch's scenario-operation for their Plan 99 is referencing when 99 sacrificed himself!!!!! And moreover every time Saw shows up anywhere, he ruins everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really wanted Wrecker to tell Sid “His name was Tech.” after she called him goggles. It was so disrespectful, especially considering she turned them in
I remember joking about Techs possible death weeks ago, because basically no star wars early romances have ended happily...and I kinda hate that I was proven right in here, lol.
Your comment that Phee calls him Brown Eyes and not Goggles made me realize that Phee actually views him as a person and sees his humanity as opposed to just some piece of equipment (not that 'Goggles' is inherently a horrible nickname or anything). I don't know, it just struck me. Tech is (and always was) my favorite and I had a feeling he was in for it but was actually hoping that since they didn't fully resolve their arc it meant there was more to go. I hope we do see Phee's reaction eventually.
I know people are having out hope Tech survived the fall, and believe me part of me wishes that too. But he was attached to that carriage that fell directly on him up thousands upon thousands of feet in the air. And even if by somekind of miracle he did survive and Hemlock was just smuggling to Hunter, critical would be an understatement for his body's condition. Hell, if anything it could be a Grievous like situation of what's left of him. Point is that if Tech was somehow alive, he'd be in a literally living hell, and that's something i don't think any of us want. Especially after what Echo's been through.
Echo came out the other end a more developed and integral character. I can hope the same of Tech. Though I doubt it. I'm just not ready to accept the death of my favourite Bad Batch member.
To be fair though it never did show a clear view of what was under the clouds, plus there were all those fighters flying around. There are definitely more possibilities than just dead or a Grievous
I can’t believe how much better these eps were than this week’s Mando episode. I know it’s the finale, but still. This season of Bad Batch was INCREDIBLE and I very much hope they’re deep in production on season 3, because I need more like *NOW*
I absolutely loved these two episodes! They are now some of my favorites! I felt like everything about them were just so amazing in every aspect. Whether it be the the story, the writing, the action, the emotion or how gripping and tense they were, there episodes just had everything. The soundtrack for these episodes were also fantastic, every score felt so amazing and unique in its way. It feels like they’ve really been stepping up their game when it comes to the soundtrack. And of course, as always, the animation is super beautiful, and stunning, especially in all the establishing shots of the different planets and their environments. The detail put into every scene is just so amazing and just so visually pleasing in every way. It was really awesome to get to see the Bad Batch doing their thing all throughout these two episodes. Sneaking around that Imperial base and taking out any Stormtroopers that stood in their way. I mean Echo literally takes control of a prototype AT-ST in order to free Hunter and Wrecker in the end. It was also cool to get see a Young Director Krennic at that meeting. Especially because of how they momentarily mentioned the Death Star. Then as a huge surprise to me we got to meet Saw Gerrera again. It was so great to finally get to see him in this show again and to see him fighting alongside the Batch, even if it was only shortly. And wow that explosion he caused was massive, it’s too bad that all it did was take out some Stormtroopers and majorly inconvenienced the Batch. Now, I’ve got to talk about Tech’s death. This may be one of (if not the most) emotional and sad moments in this entire show so far. Everything in this scene was just done perfectly. It was incredibly tense (I was worried for him throughout the entire scene all the way up until he actually fell), the score was incredible, it was both monumental and sad. And his last interactions with Wrecker and Omega were so sad and emotional, and his last words to them before his sacrifice were perfect. On top of all that we have to watch as he goes down a seemingly endless fall. But it doesn’t end there, his death hits even harder when Hemlock tosses Hunter Tech’s shattered and broken goggles. Then we see the Batch go back to Cid’s bar, and just as anticipated this whole season, Cid turns them in. I got to be honest I have mixed feelings about this scene because on one hand, she did seem sorry to turn them in as if she regretted the decision But on the other hand she also did turn them in just to get some extra money. Plus throughout the entire scene I so badly wanted to see Hunter shoot her. Also kind of a side note but I liked that they finally went back for AZI and actually took him with them this time. And then, in a shocking turn of events (for me anyway) Omega is captured. To be honest I kind of assumed that she would be, but I didn’t think that they’d end the season that way. They totally caught me off guard with this, but I can’t wait to see where this will lead us when going into next season. Then was see Crosshair and a ton of other Clones strapped down to operating tables in a laboratory. Along with some Clone bodies that are being suspended in big vats. And honestly seeing all of this is really sad, these Clones were soldiers and heros, who were willing to lay down their lives to protect the galaxy. But now they are all being cast aside like used equipment to become nothing more than test subjects for the Empires experiments. But then we get the massive reveal that Omega and Emerie are sisters. This was such a crazy moment that raised a ton of questions for this show. Like is Emerie a defective Clone, was she going to be the original version of Omega, or is she possibly Jango’s real daughter? This honestly felt like this shows own “I am your Father” moment. I can’t wait to see what the remains of the Batch will do in order to get back Omega and Crosshair next season. And I wonder how they will react to what Hemlock has been doing with the Clones at Mount Tantiss. Will seeing what the Empire has done to them make the Batch finally join Rex for the Clone Rebellion? And hey, maybe the next time we see the Bad Batch Echo will finally have an actual mechanical arm rather than a screwdriver. I really love these two episodes so much. They were so fantastic in every aspect and served as both action packed thrillers and as an incredible way to advance the overall story of the Bad Batch series. I am super curious to see where the story will go next and I am super excited for (mostly likely) Season 3. All in all this was such a great series that, despite its ups and downs, I overall really enjoyed and loved getting to watch your guy’s reactions and reviews to them.
I love Tech's sacrifice, I feel like because of how much development he got this season it was setting up to have him end like that, though if they did bring him back the reveal would have to be at the end of an episode so we could have the next episode start from the part of his fall and how he survived and lead up to where he comes back. That being said RIP Tech
From my understanding, clone commandos were a different breed of clone, ones with heightened skills and more independence compared to regs, but also with heightened obedience so that they didn’t turn on their leaders. So, when order 66 occurred, the commandos did there job and continued serving the Empire due to their increased obedience without questions.
i remember hearing them come up with the 'emerie is a clone' theory and thinking to myself 'there's no way, not EVERY character in star wars with a new zealand accent is a clone', so you can imagine my shame when i turned out to be wrong.
Saw Garrera killed Tech! But I don't really think he's dead. He had a repelling gun and it's possible that his helmet and glasses got knocked off by falling debris.

Just HAD to be my favourite member that died, with the cause of death being my biggest fear. On a lighter note, I love the way the voice actor does Tarkin. He doesn’t particularly sound like Peter Cushing, but he nails the way he pronounces certain words and sounds, like the ‘th’ in ‘threat’ for example.
As the old saying goes, if we didn't see the body literally hit the rocks on the way down they ain't dead. Just because his glasses were the only thing left doesn't mean he didn't escape. Either Hemlock is lying or Tech got away badly injured.
He fell thousands of feet and probably got squashed by the rail car, if they were to show the results of that this show would be considered adults only.
@@sortascouseace I mean they would probably show a body but also Clone Wars and Bad Batch have done some dark stuff so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary
I was always one to readily admit Tech wasn't my favorite when we were first introduced to the Bad Batch, but he grew on me a lot as the show went on. And now...we're here. Hell of a way to end the season.
When the next season starts we’ll get hunter, wrecker, and echo on a planet after they got a tip on some info on hemlock and tantiss’ location. We’ll see hunter hold nothing back and be way more aggressive than he’s ever been
44:30...good point but as a reminder, in the game, the squads are raised in "pods" of four and undergo separate training from the regular clones and ARCs.
As someone who is now barely starting to realize I might actually be autistic (im 26) I see so much of myself in Tech. I have always struggled to connect with people emotionally. but like Tech said earlier in the season, that because I process things different than you doesnt mean I feel any less. The goodbye scene with Phee is a perfect.
Aside from Tech being the Star Wars version of Bucky Barnes and Echo reminding everyone that he invented Badass with Rex, can we talk about the MUSIC?!? WOW, this season has had the best damn music!
My dog buddy died yesterday. I had him 16 years. I thought I was out of tears until my fav character died today. I bawled again. I hope he comes back but the emotion that scene gave me will always stick.
Lost my dog of 14 years last month. I'm 21 now, so she was a major rock for me throughout a majority of my life. It isn't an easy thing, but I wish you all the best.
The editing is weird in this one again. @18:18 the source video flashes on for a second then off for a second and continues. Have the bad batch video up for 10 seconds and then cut it.. don’t cut it every second or two, it’s basically flashing
the moment i saw tech start walking across the rail like i knew something bad was going to happen. and then they teased him falling by showing the storm trooper falling after wrecker threw him off the train. this season was so good
In hindsight, they were telegraphing this the whole season. We had the Tech centric racing episode. We had Tech jump after Omega into an abyss without a second thought, even though there was a high chance of immediate death. We had Tech explain that he loves his siblings, but shows it in other ways. We had a one-sided love interest for Tech. Even though Tech seems like the over-analytical sort, he was actually always making the right decisions and doing the right things in the moment. He lives in the moment when required. I wonder if the Bad Batch series will basically be about the slow demise of the team, which is why we don't see them in the Rebels era.
I know Tech sacrificed himself to save the others & the Empire is part of why he's gone, but Saw Gerrera is the reason Tech is dead. If Saw's explosives didn't cut the power the Batch could've escaped in whole. I'm gonna miss you Tech "SALUTE" Cid should've never been trusted. Whats next for Clone Force 99?
In the way of roles in the squad, here is what I always viewed them as: Hunter- Leader, Scout, and Combat Tactics Wrecker- Demolition and Weapons experts Tech- Technology/gear advancements, combat strategist, and main pilot Echo- Communications and espionage Crosshair- Hunter/Scout and artillery expert
The Bald guy with the darker hair at the Summit is also in Rogue One. He is the Imperial number 2 to Krennic that informed Tarkin that Krennic was on Scariff. Same actor even. Love the Rogue One nods in this episode
The three guys in the meeting with Tarkin were Orson Krennic (as I'm sure everyone knows) but also Barton Coburn (Plo Koon's admiral from clone wars) and Hurst Romodi (from A New Hope). They thought of putting more officers from A New Hope in there (Captain Tagge and Admiral Motti) but decided against it since they wouldn't be top ranking this early in the Imperial era.
Season 2 is without a doubt The Empire Strikes Back of The Bad Batch. The heroes get their asses kicked, the empire has what they want, and there was a massive twist of a surprise relative.

RIP TO MY FAVORITE BAD BATCH MEMBER TECH 😢
I think Boba and Omega are only about a year or two apart. Emerie has to be aging at double speed.

Disappointed with Season 2 and Bad Batch as a whole
Honestly, I blame Saw Gerrera for every bad thing that happed in this finale.

Uhh so can I hate him in rebels and rouge one
Also I hate how hemlock just threw tech’s goggles
Yeah every decision has his consequences. I'm excited if maybe the BB will blame him, If they see Saw again.

And not the Empire? The people who actually shot at them?

He’s alive I’m calling it
Oh my god your probably right
The moment he said “…plan 99.” I knew what was going to happen.
The fact that they made a Plan 99 as the code for making the ultimate sacrifice for your brothers hit me so much harder than I could have expected.
I spent the rest of the episode (and several moments through out my day) in tears. Doubling up the loss of Tech with the loss of their namesake was so unfair lol
And then having Omega actually experience the loss of one of her brothers, after seeing how much having them only temporarily leaving hurt her…ugh!
@Yest 199 eh, they all seem to know what the various plans mean so that would be weird
I didn’t expect to have my whole day ruined by my grief to an animated show, but I did.
You and me both, man... :'(

Tech's Death isn't just gonna go down as an incredible memorable Clone Death, but it'll go down as a sacrifice to save the lives of those he loves, along with legends such as Obi-Wan & Kanan.

I've cried more for the Clones than for the Jedi. 😭😭
The jedi were victims to their own dogma and hubris pretty much. But the Clones have always been the tools of others. They gotta be the most tragic characters in Star Wars. Humans born to be used then thrown away.
As it should be.

Agreed. A main character dying not just before the end is going to be interesting to see
See, you have a point, and that would make sense given how Tech and the car fell, assuming he didn't pull some mid-flight shenanigans.
But if hemlock brought Tech back in a frankin stain type of way maybe using his brain to control dark troopers In The same way echo was used by the techno Union I think that would be a good way to bring him back
I don’t hope he’s coming back, I just feel like that’s just something that would happen
Falling.
-
I also have to agree that Tech is dead. He wouldn't leave his goggles behind. His helmet or pack, sure, but not his goggles. His fall seems like something only a force user could have the potential to survive.
I feel like Hemlock has him and was using the broken goggles to taunt the Bad Batch. Maybe Tech is still alive and in stasis or in a bacta tank.
we all know they gonna being him back lol. They just gonna show that he fallen into water or used his jetpack. "No oNe'S eVeR rEalLy gOnE"

U can get shot point blank and they just gonna give u mechanicals insides or stick u inside a bactatank
Disappearing in fog? Yeah... he's alive and we all know it.

feel like we'll see a different side of Hunter next time we see him, throughout the season he didn't know where the bad batch belonged, but now he has a purpose.. to find Omega no matter what
that man is on a warpath and nothing will come between him and that child
I hope not but I have the feeling that this show will make a dark turn. Omega will die and the survivors of the bad batch will start a private War with the empire and will die in the process.
Nah, there’s too much potential with Omega in future storylines that they’ll keep her alive, crosshair and the other adults in the squad will likely die in the clone uprising along with most of Rex’s rebels.
I hope so. I miss the Hunter from CW S7 who was a little colder, a little more detached.
Hunter's gonna go all Joel Miller/Liam Neeson (taken) on this bitch
I loved that line too, the moment he said that he became my favorite
Ironically this line also counts for Saw Gerrera. I understand his character and his actions but I'd never agree with his tactics.
Yes
@@samuraibirds917 Yep, it applies so well to so many characters in Star Wars. It also needs to be understood by most of the population of the world nowadays. At one point it was mentioned that Omega was the Batch's "little sister"....but technically...she was born before them. So she's their "older sister."

I cried a good bit at this finale man, tech was by far my favorite member of the batch, and to see him go is just so tragic
The way Tech was falling, it looked like the train car was going to land on top of him. It might even have blown up.
I think you meant to say "instrumental". "Detrimental" is a bad thing lol.
@@DiggerTheDwarf you are correct
The fact that they only found Tech's goggles tells me one of three things:
Do they give Emmy's for animated series? Because this finale deserves one. Amazing.
I couldn't let go of thought that they inadvertently saved project star dust.
saw mission was a fail aswell, he couldn’t get any detonators close to tarkin krennic and hemlock

I like to think that tech used the grapple to hook onto something last minute but the whiplash caused his goggles and helmet to fall down and break.
I really wanted Wrecker to tell Sid “His name was Tech.” after she called him goggles. It was so disrespectful, especially considering she turned them in
The music was so good in the last 2 episodes, and it makes the Tech scene even more dramatic.
Techs end was really well done but falls are the least lethal method of death in Star Wars so part of me wonders if is even dead
18:23: This is why everyone needs a jet pack :((
I remember joking about Techs possible death weeks ago, because basically no star wars early romances have ended happily...and I kinda hate that I was proven right in here, lol.
This!! I had warning bells in the back of my head (but was trying to ignore them) the more they kept developing Tech and his relationships 😭
When it said Rex was off another mission, I stupidly said "oh they must not have been able to get his voice actor for this episode" .... That's sad.
Am i the only one who hopes that he is dead?!
If Tech does come back, I am certain it will be a Winter Soldier scenario.
@@caleblim6890 wouldn’t that just be repeating the Crosshair storyline?
I can’t believe how much better these eps were than this week’s Mando episode. I know it’s the finale, but still. This season of Bad Batch was INCREDIBLE and I very much hope they’re deep in production on season 3, because I need more like *NOW*
I can’t explain the emotions I was feeling seeing AZ and Echo together…the mutual friend of Echo and Fives😭🤙
When I come back to watch this, I can’t help but appreciate the score. The music that plays during Tech’s death is beautiful
I still refuse to believe tech is dead he somehow calculated something to survive 😢
Been waiting for this video all day
Just HAD to be my favourite member that died, with the cause of death being my biggest fear.
On a lighter note, I love the way the voice actor does Tarkin. He doesn’t particularly sound like Peter Cushing, but he nails the way he pronounces certain words and sounds, like the ‘th’ in ‘threat’ for example.
Absolutely gutted. Tech really grew on me and became my favorite Clone this season.
@@OrionInSpace no I'm thinking there won't be enough of a body left, think minestrone soup
@@sortascouseace Lol for all we know he got lucky and it miss or just took off his arm
I was always one to readily admit Tech wasn't my favorite when we were first introduced to the Bad Batch, but he grew on me a lot as the show went on. And now...we're here.
Hell of a way to end the season.
I haven't been this upset by a character death in a while 💔 rip Tech, you did good
When the next season starts we’ll get hunter, wrecker, and echo on a planet after they got a tip on some info on hemlock and tantiss’ location. We’ll see hunter hold nothing back and be way more aggressive than he’s ever been
On top of everything else, I loved the reference to Where Eagles Dare.
Sad that the more we see of Gerrera the more damage he inflicts on rebels & innocents than the Empire itself.
44:30...good point but as a reminder, in the game, the squads are raised in "pods" of four and undergo separate training from the regular clones and ARCs.
My fav 2 parter. Broke my heart, hopefully we hear about szn 3 at celebration 🤞
Boba was already 10 years old by the time the Clone Wars started, Omega seemed to be that age when the Clone Wars ended, Boba is definitely older.
Honestly, I really grew attached to the bad batch... now that Tech is gone, it just feels empty.
I feel like I’m the only one who didn’t see the reveal of Omega’s sister coming and it was so obvious.
It isn't an easy thing, but I wish you all the best.
the music when Omega was taken was amazing
The editing is weird in this one again. @18:18 the source video flashes on for a second then off for a second and continues. Have the bad batch video up for 10 seconds and then cut it.. don’t cut it every second or two, it’s basically flashing
the moment i saw tech start walking across the rail like i knew something bad was going to happen. and then they teased him falling by showing the storm trooper falling after wrecker threw him off the train. this season was so good
Tech went out like any soldier would, sacrificing himself to save his squad
This finale was so good. Also it really gave me the vibe from the move ”where the Eagels dare”. One of the 4 VHS we had growing up…🥰
Now we know how Saw ended up being half machine. Wrecker’s gonna mess him up
Tech's a strategic mind. He understood that sometimes when playing the game, a pawn has to sacrifice itself to protect the king...
In the way of roles in the squad, here is what I always viewed them as:
Hunter- Leader, Scout, and Combat Tactics
Wrecker- Demolition and Weapons experts
Tech- Technology/gear advancements, combat strategist, and main pilot
Echo- Communications and espionage
Crosshair- Hunter/Scout and artillery expert
When Aaron said
“In Hell” I spat my drink out
The Bald guy with the darker hair at the Summit is also in Rogue One. He is the Imperial number 2 to Krennic that informed Tarkin that Krennic was on Scariff. Same actor even. Love the Rogue One nods in this episode
Loved the Judas reference by Eric 😂
when I saw that the title was plan 99 I thought, "oh cool... wait, I'm not sure that's a good thing..."
I feel like "recover" just meant what they could pick up without a shovel... or a shopvac
Tech is my favorite of the bunch but I'll be so pissed if turns out he's still alive.

I can't remember if it was a Dies Irae, but the motif that played with Krennic was Jyn's Theme because Tarking said Project Stardust.
Why do I feel like this is going to be Star Wars' version of Noble Team from Halo (besides Domino Squad).
Every time Saw shows up, something tragic happens that could’ve been completely avoided. I hate saw so much
