I’d love that, I’ve been a bit disappointed knowing these creatures will very likely never get into Ark 1 but strongly hoping for them to be in the sequel. It be cool to see them, and make the primitive new world they’re trying to build up feel even more primal with all these even more new weirder, extinct creatures from different eras roaming around. Strongly hoping for the gorgonops, gigantoraptor and platybelodon in particular.
2:13 This creature is actually a Cranioceras, confirmed by Dave himself. It’s typically depicted as pronghorn/antelope like in paleo art, and I would’ve loved to see it in game. Having herds of these sprinting at high speeds would be fun to see. 2:45 This is a Gigantoraptor, the person who left a replay was referring to the gorgonops. It was actually massive, and the biggest member of the oviraptor family. So in game it likely be bigger then an allo and maybe even the height of the rex. I’ve literally wanted this creature in game since I started playing, damn shame it didn’t make the cut. 8:16 Again confirmed by Dave that’s a Tianyuraptor, a small raptor species from prehistoric China. It looks cute, and I would’ve wanted to see it but I guess we already have a few small raptor type creatures in game. 8:38 Once again already confirmed by Dave, this is a Siats Meekerorum, a large theropod from prehistoric Utah. It was very large, but actually a bit smaller then a rex so I’m assuming in game it would’ve been bigger then an allo or Yuty size. Would’ve still loved to see it.
@@DreadEnder I’m quoting the names that were confirmed be Dave, but as for the creatures themselves I’ve always had a fascination for prehistoric creatures. i love the thing that appears at 13:12 looks like an early concept for the reaper which it looks even cooler but like what Syntac said about the old wyvern concept i would probably want what we have now
At 10:55 i think that's indeed a nameless concept. It's terrifying. Same for the "reaper" concept. Seeing some Aberration concepts ... I can totally say that they wanted scare us. Just check one of Rockwell's designs. There's one that's terrifying! If we think that some drawings were concepts... We can say that some of rbwse creatures have been added, just not their original design xD
The sandy manta ray is awesome. The concept that it was a ray in the ocean until the ocean turned into a desert, hence the sandy barnacles and now he burrows through sand? That would’ve been really cool on scorched or some other mythical map
The deer at 2:15 looks like a Cranioceras, they have three horns: the two above the eyes and extending from the back of the skull like shown in the art. I would have loved to see that in the game! 2:46 is almost certainly a Gigantoraptor, a massive Oviraptor relative that stood as tall as a house. Dave's art is absolutely fantastic, it makes me really feel the absence of these creatures and thinking about what could have been in some other life. I especially love the Gorgonopsid's design.
The one that looks like a Oviraptor might be a Gigantoraptor, they are actually pretty big in between a Carno and a Allo. The coolasuchus is quite big as well.
13:35 didn't aberration originally mention a nameless queen that ended up being the reaper queen? Maybe this is early concept art for a different version of the reaper.
Reapers in the devkit are a bit weird, alot of their files are named xenomorph but the actual model, skeleton, animations, and sounds are labelled as nameless. On the otherhand, the actual nameless in the devkit is referred to as chupacabra.
A Gorgon would of been so much better for SE than just having the Kapro which felt out of place on that map. Maybe could of had a mechanic that worked like it would hit you once but only continue to attack you unless the damage had taken your health pass halfway. If it failed to get your health passed half way it will de-aggro and then you could feed it in a passive tame.
if primitive plus wasnt so broken and could get some love (i'm aware they've completely dropped support for it), the diplocaulus basically would have been the scuba tank replacement.
The Hive creature was originally supposed to be a Scorched boss with the lore that it was being told by the ark overseer of scorched to aggressively attack the humans with insect creatures... but it was scrapped (it was kinda hinted at in the scorched lore but the relative wording was removed, it was in the lore originally around notes during Dakahi and Rai when the mantis was attacking there settlement of Nostii)... it was supposed to as big is a diplo, maybe between a diplo and bronto, which is why it had the swarms that could spawn out of the holes on its shell body. During the boss fight it had the swarms spawns and other insects that spawned as adds. It was scrapped partially because the devs agreed they already had a "bug" boss back on the Island (the Broodmother)
Wow how did you find out all of this info?! That's so cool! I'm sad they didn't do it. The Island has 3 bosses, so Scortched could easily have had 2 and it would have been such a neat concept!
Dave is someone I had been following on DeviantArt long before Ark was a thing, and I remember when he started posting the concept art he'd done for the company. At the time I didn't feel that his more "fantasy creature" style translated well to a sci-fi game, but all these years later being now big into Ark I can appreciate the aesthetic he brought to it. I didn't start playing the game until 2021, around the time Genesis Part 2 released I think.
10:51 definitely inspired by the Chupacabra as the three teeth seem to be from the three holes left on the bodies of animals during the times the killings took place
Yes, I use a mutated Diplocaulus all the time as my main underwater mount. For muscle I use 6-8 mutated Sarcos following. No need for SCUBA and it's very fast underwater. BTW, that's on my PvE server.
Definitely a gigantoraptor, no other oviraptorid looked like that, and thats not a Tarbosaurus, tarbo had 2 fingers, not 3. Edit: The therapod is Siats Meekerorum
2:54 that is a gigantoraptor, basically a theri sized oviraptor, the inostrancieva (inn-oh-schran-see-ey-vah) was a form of gorgonopsid which were basically sabers if they were reptillian
Best use of a diplocaulus ive ever had was for spooky noises in a haunted house/funhouse maze for halloween, it sounds really creepy and it made great ambience!
I believe the green Trex like one is Tarbosaurus(or Tarvosaurus, however you pronounce it)because it was though to be greenish and similar in size to a Rex,but with extra little features I also think the flesh one was supposed to be the Reaper
That final one is defo the inspiration for the reapers no doubt. They most likely saw that concept and were like "yeah lets add a xenomorph dino, why not?".
13:29 could be the reaper queen as the reapers are based on xenomorphs and there spawn name is xenomorph and the tail looks like a fleshy version of the reaper queens tail used to inpregnate with a baby reaper like the xenomorph queen does in the ALIEN franchise.
2:54 That is a gigantoraptor most likely, the comments said inostrancevia as this was released in the same image batch as the gorgonops which looks a lot like inostrancevia
13:08 That's probably a reaper concept, especially since people are saying it looks very xenomorph, which it does. Would've made them alot more scary if it is
That large oviraptor-like one was probably Gigantoraptor, once again another one removed for being a large dinosaur. The Inostrancevia is similar to the gorgonopsid so that’s why the name was put in the comments
looking at the Rockwell concept art, aberration was definitely gonna be a horror map Rockwell looked less in control of the caves of aberration and more locked up like he was put there by somebody and he was HUGE he made a rex look like a micro raptor
The fleshy xenomorph thing might have been a prototype of the reaper. It's got a wierd tongue for thw impregnation and has the wierd spikey tail. Honestly, a waaaaay cooler design for the reaper. Call me blasphemous, but the reaper's design rn is goofier than hell. Just a black T-rex with a big nose
the worst part of this is the fact that this thing is kinda humanoid, and remember you are the one who gave birth to a reaper, its your child and have some of your dna propably.
@@poketrenerboberowy8130 it's not really your child, you need pheromones so it doesn't attack you when it is birthed. I know xenomorphs incorporate host DNA into the end result but Reapers just seem to use you as a warm incubator.
@2:45 that is most certainly not an Inostrancevia, considering it looks like the gorgonopsid. Not sure what it actually is but it gives off theri/oviraptor vibes
We use a Diplocaulus as a water pen taxi, it's got decent speed and we can just sit on them while our babies tick down to wanting imprint. We don't take them outside the base though for obvious reasons.
2:43 That's a gigantoraptor. An inostrancevia is a species of gorgonopsid, that comment was referring to the second creature in the post. Basically the gigantoraptor is like a T. rex sized oviraptorid (though obviously not as bulky)
The oviraptor thing is probably Gigantoraptor, and it was MASSIVE, but essentially just an ovi other than size. Inostrancevia is a giant gorgonopsid, gorgonopsid is actually the name of a group, not just one animal
Oh boy, we could use a crab on the island. The tarvasaur(?), the space dolphin and the thorny dragon are quite cool imo. And boy do that wyvern looks dope as hell
3:22 this thing is nightmare fuel - i could 100% see this thing being an ambush predator, enountered in the redwoods (because for some strange reason, ark likes spawning all the dangerous shit in the redwoods - at least in my game).
I've seen chupicabra portrayed with a single fang on its bottom jaw before. It also looks like it's taking the two most popular descriptions, the more alien-like look mixed with the dog-like one. My personal favorite is a more bat-like appearance
14:12 I don’t recall it’s name, but I have read about it, it’s known as the only reptile creature that lived in the colder climates. It was huge very cool.
Deer is probably synthetoceras, the salamander is probably koolasuchus, and the second large carnivore shown which some people refer to them as theropods is probably the tarbosaurus in case anyone is interested to look them up.
Actually Dave confirmed that the deer like animal is Cranioceras, a small deer typically depicted as pronghorn/antelope like in paleo art. Sythetoceres was a much larger animal and had a different horn shape, almost similar to a big Y. Easy mistake to make tho prior to him confirming it I had no idea what is was, still would’ve liked to see it in game, hope it’ll be in Ark 2. The salamander is koolasuchas, and the theropod is actually Siats meekerorum, a large theropod from Utah also confirmed by Dave. Again would love to see them all in game.
Ark's Ocean is already terrifying enough with the Megs, Dunkles, and Mossas. I don't want to get jump scared by a giant Crustacean while exploring the sea floor
that xenomorphic creature at 13:25 looks like it would of fit in right at home in the rockwells innards biome as a variant of the nameless (R-Nameless?)
8:37 That's a Majungasaurus, you can tell from the small bump on it's head. It's related to carnotaurus, and is about the same size, meaning it would be pretty useless if somebody could just tame a carno instead. I see why they didn't put it in, but I love carnivores like metricanthosaurus, allosaurus, ceratosaurus, carnotaurus and majungasaurus, and wish they did put it in.
Which of these critters would you love to see in the game?

Best use of a diplocaulus ive ever had was for spooky noises in a haunted house/funhouse maze for halloween, it sounds really creepy and it made great ambience!
I believe the green Trex like one is Tarbosaurus(or Tarvosaurus, however you pronounce it)because it was though to be greenish and similar in size to a Rex,but with extra little features
I also think the flesh one was supposed to be the Reaper
we have no clue what color large theropods were
That final one is defo the inspiration for the reapers no doubt. They most likely saw that concept and were like "yeah lets add a xenomorph dino, why not?".
13:30 Maybe the original design for a reaper?
It has a really close resemblance to the White Spikes from the movie The Tomorrow War
Yeah but it would look small
@@shauryamodi2297 It came out before that movie though.
13:29 could be the reaper queen as the reapers are based on xenomorphs and there spawn name is xenomorph and the tail looks like a fleshy version of the reaper queens tail used to inpregnate with a baby reaper like the xenomorph queen does in the ALIEN franchise.
Oh man these look sick! I really hope they get released in mods or Ark 2 possibly??
But my gosh the Hive + swarm.. I think I’d cry if I saw that 😂
13:11 that looks like a re skin of the reaper queen
We need Neochoerus (prehistoric capybara) 😁
I would believe the velociraptor like dino was a bambiraptor
3:03 is a gigantoraptor it's not a "little thing" lol, it was as big as Allosaurus
2:54 That is a gigantoraptor most likely, the comments said inostrancevia as this was released in the same image batch as the gorgonops which looks a lot like inostrancevia
Someone needs to make an ark additions quality level of mod that adds in all of the scrapped Dino
13:07 I think that thing that will “haunt ur nightmares” might be a very early version of a reaper
Hope that one day they’ll show us the concept art for all the community vote finalists, if they did make concepts for them that is.
13:13 that creature looks like something that you'd see in rockwells innards, guarding the area
They should have kept the wyvern
You know that 11:59, I honestly thought it kinda looked like a thorny dragon at first, but when Syntac said probably a Magmasaur, it made more sense.
For the last concept creature I could totally see that being the humans that Rockwell was creating.
I imagine it as sort of an alpha version of them that you'd find defending the Rockwell zone on gen 2
I really like aberant diplocalus with mutations, they're really cool when you and a few buddies all glow your personal colors while in the deep dark
Goofy
huh
Ahhhh
JAKJSJDBS
@2:45 that is most certainly not an Inostrancevia, considering it looks like the gorgonopsid. Not sure what it actually is but it gives off theri/oviraptor vibes
the prob scrapped the hive bug thing because its back could trigger those with trypophobia or fear of holes
8:30 It was confirmed to be Tianyuraptor
whatttttt, i want all of these creatures right NOW, i really hope some of them are in ark 2 they would be so cool
Basically the gigantoraptor is like a T. rex sized oviraptorid (though obviously not as bulky)
the oviraptor-eske one might be gigantoraptor
8:48 looks like grogo from jw alive
The oviraptor thing is probably Gigantoraptor, and it was MASSIVE, but essentially just an ovi other than size. Inostrancevia is a giant gorgonopsid, gorgonopsid is actually the name of a group, not just one animal
Syntac: We have the argy here aswell *shows picture*
Me: that looks like an argy-
8:45 looks like giganotosaurus but maybe a relative like tarbosaurus or with the quills maybe mapusaurus
It's apparently a Siats, allo relative
13:25 a prawn someone started peeling then saw it was rotten
Oh boy, we could use a crab on the island.
The tarvasaur(?), the space dolphin and the thorny dragon are quite cool imo.
And boy do that wyvern looks dope as hell
3:22
this thing is nightmare fuel - i could 100% see this thing being an ambush predator, enountered in the redwoods (because for some strange reason, ark likes spawning all the dangerous shit in the redwoods - at least in my game).
10:42 yea you've seen it, its those bloody nameless
The creature at 12:00 kinda looks like a dragon from Conan exiles or similar to it at least.
the one which you said there "if its popular it can comes out by ark" this one is actually in the game now 8:51
I've seen chupicabra portrayed with a single fang on its bottom jaw before. It also looks like it's taking the two most popular descriptions, the more alien-like look mixed with the dog-like one. My personal favorite is a more bat-like appearance
2:58 A Gigantoraptor considering the length of its legs. It was basically a Allosaurus sized Oviraptor.
that manta ray thing is absolutely beautiful, I need it in the game
14:10 i did some diving into the earliest released updates of ark last year, and i believe the first 1-2 actually used this logo!
Nah, it would've haunt your nightmares because even your nightmares would be scared of the flesh xenomorph
The xenomorph one gives off reaper vibes and I personally think it should be a mod for ASA
That last creature looks like a xenomorph and carnage put together
Ark's Ocean is already terrifying enough with the Megs, Dunkles, and Mossas. I don't want to get jump scared by a giant Crustacean while exploring the sea floor
Could have still done with having more sea-dinos. Like the Livyatan, Dakosaurus, Shastasaurus.
The Randall looking creature was a Koolasuchus a gigantic predatory salamander-like creature that hunted like crocodilians but was a amphibian.
8:48 is Majungasaurus. The singular horn up between the eyes is a dead givaway.
Love all the dinos in game and the concepts even if they aren't in the game I still appreciate seeing them
11:00 the nameless' creature icon is the same as that creature's head, so it was definitely recycled
2:31 thats a synthetoceras i believe
that xenomorphic creature at 13:25 looks like it would of fit in right at home in the rockwells innards biome as a variant of the nameless (R-Nameless?)
I JUST SAW THIS NOW AND SAW THIS NOTIF THATS CRAZY LOVE THE REAPER AND VELO CONCEPT
I think the creature at 13:29 was concept art for the reaper, they both look like Xenomorphs and have a strange tail, so maybe that’s what it is.
That green Dino may have been a tarbosaur
8:37 That's a Majungasaurus, you can tell from the small bump on it's head. It's related to carnotaurus, and is about the same size, meaning it would be pretty useless if somebody could just tame a carno instead. I see why they didn't put it in, but I love carnivores like metricanthosaurus, allosaurus, ceratosaurus, carnotaurus and majungasaurus, and wish they did put it in.
