This is amazing. It would be amazing if the opposite happens where all the water is drained and you can go explore the underwater caves by just walking around
Omg yes. A mod where it floods, and the water rises to the tops of the mountains, and then drains… and keeps going back and forth on like a weekly schedule.
@@TheFlamingDraco maybe if it happened gradually enough? That was crazy fast, in the video… what if it rose or fell by like a meter, at 6am, noon, 6pm, and midnight?
The speed at which the ocean rose, holy crap... love the concept of this challenge, though i feel making the water rise in stages incrementally would make it so there'd be time to tame creatures and get some things before the map becomes a volcanic archipelago XD

But I never thought is was possible in a game like ark. This video definitely proved me wrong, this is intriging.
Maybe the mod maker will edit it. Having it rise slower might lessen some of the lag and crashes, and give him time to do more. If they do improve the mod to be more functional, maybe there could be a 'Syntacs Ark' series where he has to tame two of every land creature and put them on a boat before the ark floods. Maybe with a week or two before the floods start.
a map with a flood cycle every so often would be pretty cool to see on an official standing . would add a lot of value to water dinos that are usually completely ignored
Exactly! I feel like a concept of seasons would be really cool in ark even if it’s just one specific world where there’s dry and wet seasons it snows and the leaves fall
@@clairelightning5309 but if the Dinos would have to swim their way to the remaining land if they get hit by the flood, the Gigas would be the first ones drowning ^^
this was a really fun video! I'd love to see more of these "ark except" videos as a series. Another one you could do is "Ark except the temperature is dropping" and the snow starts to spread and you have to keep warm and maybe kill a boss
10:10 It's an even better idea because it would be paleontologically accurate. Seasonal Floodplains were _the_ dinosaur environment, despite the deserts you usually see them portrayed in. Take the Morrison Formation for example, home of Allo, Diplo and Stego. In the wet season, an almost swamplike environment full of lakes and streams. In the dry season, an almost desert where the remaining carnivores fight over the last watering holes. Other great paleo-environments that should totally be in the game: Yixian Formation (Yuty, Microraptor, Sinomacrops), rolling hills next to a dormant volcan that spits out lakes of toxic gas ever so often. Solnhofen Lagerstätte, an archipelago in shallow seas so full of corals, they cut off sections of the ocean that turn into mini salt lakes. Compy, Archeopterix. Crinoid Rafts, redwood trees carried into the ocean by the frequent storms that form swimming coral reefs. Or crinoid reefs, as it were, since corals hadn't taken off yet. (I have my own map half-planned, but sadly I don't ahve the time. Would also feature a flooded redwood forest like here.)
Gotta say, Ark is probably the best game to do the concept with. Because unlike minecraft or other games, the challenge in ark’s waters actually pose significant threats with fanua instead of solely the risk of drowning
well, in theory water is pretty safe in ark the land areas won't have any ocean spawns and even in the actual ocean you're pretty safe unless you are actively looking for trouble
That is one of the coolest concepts ever!!! Some slight changes to that mod and you could easily make a series (or even a challenge) for ARK players to test their abilities in obtaining 2 of every creature on a giant raft before the water floods the world. Obviously you'll need to stick to certain settings and/or mods in order to avoid cheesing the challenge. Great video Syn!
This was a great idea, very creative! I'd love to see it turned down to like 10/20% and you and other people try to build up and survive ontop of volcano with as many tames as you can
With how fast the water rose, I'm just imagining you only being to possibly tame two random, easy creatures. You bring them to the "Ark" and then it turns into that bit from Family Guy with the elephant and the penguin. "What the hell is this?" Haha
This was fun to watch! I think the mod could have been changed to buy you more time for each creature you've tamed on say, a checklist? "Male Dodo tamed! The gods are pleased!"=Delay Flood. Slower flooding would make it playable... Maybe have the weather effects tie into it? It only floods more when it rains? High taming rate would be a requirement or your dino would drown while you're waiting for it to tame up. This could turn into a custom map! Have a favor of the gods counter and make it slowly drains for the first 30 or so Ark days...and then maybe. Have it not flood so high? Or there was some method of lower it (other than a magic toilet..) lol :)
Apart from this video, I'm genuinely so impressed that you're able to constantly speak through the entire video and have relevancy through it all...it's truly a talent to have. Cheers to this unique video(hopefully it becomes one of your most popular videos to blow up)
I wonder what would happen if you like take away the mod while your character is on the raft still, would you spawn up in the air and fall down with the raft or will you have a flying raft?
This is amazing Personally, I feel like there should be be something where the water raises by 10 meters or so and then a 10 minute break before it starts rising again. Either way, still really cool.
I definitely think this could be fine tuned and a challenge could be done where the water rises EXTREMELY slowly, barely even noticeable, and the player has to tame two of every creature and put them on a boat before the water covers the map We would def need to figure out how to stop the crashing though, maybe have it delete the foliage that’s submerged or something

Such a fun experiment. I think a good sequel would be reversing it, so the water goes down from this point to completely empty (drain the oceans!) and see if that changes anything.
also something like this would be awesome turned into a series with the water rise slowed down so you have time to actually prepare a base/tames at the top of volcano
I think that if there was more time before the waters rise up, I think this could be a really fun survival challenge, and then if the waters sink back down after a while, that would be cool too. I think an hour before, and 10 hours after could be a good time. Overall this is a cool mod.
I've been working on a similar mod. I assume this only works on singleplayer at the moment, based on my experience. I got it to mostly work on MP, but had a lot of issues with rafts and ocean platforms. Still working on it in the meantime of course, though it's intended to be more of a tides mod rather than just a rising ocean. I'd love to get in touch with your buddy if you could maybe arrange that.
@@DeathSnake2564 I agree. I understand it’s unstable and it was made recently but if he ever wanted to revisit it maybe like have it go up a certain amount of meters a day. Make I more realistic, but on the other hand it’s still adds to the pressure of trying to build as fast as you can.
It would actually be really interesting to do an "Aqua-Syn" video, where you play a modded Ark where you have either no Oxygen stat, or it lowers as slowly as food/water and can be refilled with a semi-easy-to-acquire resource, and you have your entire adventure under the water, focusing purely on water tames and having a more three-dimensional experience from the start, even without flyers. Probably also make sure movement speed increases swim speed more, to reduce the necessity of having the materials and levels to craft flippers.
I would love to see this as a full series. Like slow down the water and you need to get 2 of each creatures and store them in cryopods as fast as possible before the world floods
Syntac, This is exactly what they need for the Ark map The Sunken World, to get the tides working on that map. You should get these two mod creators together. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

This mod adds realism to the game because we are currently experiencing sea level rise due to global warming. If any Ark mod developers are reading this comment please make a pubic mod that adds sea level rise and allow the mod to be customizable so we can set how fast we want seas to rise or at what elevation we want it to stop at. Cool concept, if your looking to make it a challenge you'd have to give it a time delay... Like 10-30 days to build a "Ark" base and gather, then have it storm and flood for three days... If possible I'd also say change all spawns to water creatures after 2nd day and then drains after another 30-60 days (with land spawns off...) You are the most evolving ark RUclipsr ever, I can tell you try in you vids and it means a lot to not just me but all you viewers
this would be interesting as an actual challenge mode if the water went slower or maybe went up in stages (e.g. stopping ever so often)? also nothing fictional about the Great Flood. God bless and keep up the good work!
Brilliant mate!! Great idea!! Loved it
