The same thing happened to me. I was off ark for around a year and a half and looking at Raas' videos make me want to get into it again with my friends.
Abberation is so special because of the fact That flyers are disabled, it makes so much more adventurous when travelling on foot and really gives you a reason to grind for a rockdrake, not to mention it’s extremely beautiful and immersive
We need a reverse scorched earth map, Basically almost everywhere is covered in snow, u have to make a campfire when u start or you die. Snowstorms, ice wyvern, ice bosses, would be great.
Scorched Earth has a special place in my heart. When I was super alone and depressed it gave me a form of escapism and I lived another life in there. I loved every second of it, no regrets.
Scorched earth is a extremely interesting map. Hardest. Most painful to build on. Limited resources and water. But it is also pretty so I respect it for that
I loved CE especially since i used to play without using flyiers and it was a great map, but abb is 100% more interesting, every travel was an adventure.
I agree the Center is underrated here, it's the closest we'll ever get to an actual aquatic map (barring the ocean biome of genesis) where you can travel through the map on a boat or really make use of those mosa platforms Plus the metal distribution is Insane
You cant really use rafts in center considering the damn leeds spawn everywhere in the ocean and even the rivers sonetimes and the map has a few places where you can get stuck between rocks and when the fog happens paired with the sun its like being flashbanged even if u turn down gama but its not a bad map just needs work
Played on the center for a good while. It was some tough caves which are fun to tackle, but the coolest thing was the air pockets, so you could make hidden underwater bases. Also, proper water caves to explore.
@@nincumpoop4133 yeah the leeds do spawn in that shallower area where the small islands are located but i've never met any in the rivers going up to the swamp tho, but i got a motorboat to run through anyway at least the nighttime is pretty well lit, even in the forest coz of all the glowing mushrooms and fireflies that's a nice touch
@@nincumpoop4133 ohh another thing i love about the water in the Center is that the damn jelly fish only seem to spawn in the deep trenches in larger numbers but less spread out throughout the map, whereas they're everywhere in other arks - hence mobile mosa bases yeah
Ragnarok is such a large diverse map whith so many creatures and recourses, but some people don't realise how large the desert is, it feels like even whith out it, it's still a massive map.
So true! When first released the desert part of the map wasn't even available and yet there were enough space for pvp and bases. When the desert was available it felt like a great bonus :)
Thing I don't like about Rag is how empty it feels. It takes forever to gather things and find good tames, because of the ridiculous spacing between everything.
It hurts seeing that Scorched is rated last, its such a fun map, it simply take much more effort to play. I personally thing the higher challenge makes it much more rewarding, however i can understand why some players dislike how harsh it is.
I think people don't like scorched because it's not that easy and the Manticore isn't like both Rockwells or the Overseer, it doesn't offer much of a final challenge and that's why I think people don't even try to start. Also that might be the reason why The Island is so popular, since there are a lot of bosses and in the end everyone will try the alpha Overseer.
scorched earth is just so difficult. its exhausting even, not fun. atleast in my opinion. If I wanted to play a game with intense heat conditions I would play conan exiles. that game is fun.
this! to be honest, base-ark (theisland) never appealed to me, but the moment SE was announced, i was hyped. it´s a lot harder to survice, making it really rewarding (imho). Wyverns, Golems and Phoenix are still my favorites (in style, just playing pve with friends)
Which is BS, because fuck those things, always hated them. I lvoed ARK for being a survival game with dinosaurs, not a mish mash of various made up crap. Im also biased though because way back when Island would lag me PC to shit, but Center was very well optimized and loaded up very quickly, with an acceptable 50ish fps.
@@cyanide7270 SAME! I got ark because I loved the idea of an dinosaur survival game... the futuristic tech stuff and the strange creatures are a no for me 🧏🏻♀️
I feel like there are 2 different type of ppl in this world.. those that really like the dlc maps for all the fancy mythical sci-fi stuff and rank those the highest and those that like ark for being a dinosaur survival game and therefore prefer the free dlc maps Edit: almost 1k likes woah tsym :O
I agree. I play official all my buddies have tek and metal. Ive been playing a year and stick to wood and stone and gas powered stuff. I just like it that way..
bro the island brings back memories i remember me and my friend as noobs went to the swamp and got infected and some guy kept telling us we had aids LMAO.
That is exactly what happened to me we were living in a thatch base and looking for cure everytime but it takes so long to realize changing map is just enough for curing desease theese was fun times I couldnt play so many hours this game bcs of school 700h is not enough for this impressive game there is so many things to Explore and do i miss those days :,)
I fell in love with ARK when SE came out. I'll never forget starting out with 4 friends and sitting for minutes in a 1x2 thatch hut lying down in cloth because we could not do anything besides that and die outside. What a challenge that was to overcome and teach me what it truly meant to survive.
I do agree that it's a good map. Though the Storms are annoying, the creature levels low and the scar is 95% wyverns 5% eggs, the landscape truly is beautiful. Just a shame it never got a proper ending.
@Keith Marshall Depending on the map, you can get access to the flamethrower without need SE; Rag, CI, and Valg should all have flamethrowers in red drops, etc. Ammo bps too, making the mats to actually make the ammo might be trickier however
Shocked that SE was ranked so low, I fondly remember the atmosphere being the most interesting, being so hot that you had to build an Adobe base while having a jerboa chill with you until night time while you plot your plans for additions to the base, the insanely large worms that would chase you in the desert, even finding the different artifacts was so fun to do, I just don’t have that feeling with different DLC/Free maps, Abberation is probably the closest because of the claustrophobic vibe it gives off
the island will forever have a place in my heart. spent the most time on it in official... so many memories of death and struggle but finally learning and understanding the game and learning the terrain.
I can't believe the center is so low it's my favorite map almost everything about it is great, the map just feels sooo organized, you can build almost anywhere, high level tames are easy to get, an overwhelming amount of resources, one of the brightest maps so you can even see in the dark unlike the island, I think its one of the most beautiful maps, and an ocean that is actually useful instead of being on the outside making it almost unnecessary to use once again like the island, easy cave loot, it basically has everything the island had to offer but wayyyy better. The only issues with the map now is the boss fight is so limited and it's resource heavy to get the hardest boss fight but once you get it you can farm the lowest level boss fight easy and serval times a day because all you need is like 6 artifacts and only one is complicated to get so forget all you people who don't like this map
Here’s my ranking. 1: abberation, because of the lore mostly but I also love the lack of fliers! 2: genesis, also love the lack of fliers and so many of the creatures 3: valguero, I love the deinonychus and the lack of ocean!
Valguero has a massive lake that spawns ocean creatures anyway and its around half the size of the map and the maps massive bigger than rag according to Google
I can see where you’re coming from but a bad thing with abberation for me is that it’s very hard to make progress in the start, but that’s just a personal opinion and i really don’t like that you need to teleport to the other biomes in genesis. I love the fliers which makes it hard to like some maps but here’s my ranking. 1. Extinction because of the titans and new creatures but also because of the size and the lore which in my opinion is the best but also saddest of the bunch 2. Ragnarok because i love the griffin and the landscape is really beautiful. The wyverns is also one of my favourite creatures. 3. The island because it’s og, it’s beautiful, i love carnivore and herbivore island, i like the big ocean and the large mountains and it’s the easiest to start of on in my opinion but one thing that makes it lower than 1 or 2 is that it doesn’t have a desert.
Just started playing a week ago, very glad the community is so active and there's great vids like this to get me started. I'm addicted already, playing on single player(the island) to learn the ropes. I've got 2 trikes and 3 flyers at my stone castle on a beautiful cliffside, built to house flyers. Thanks for these vids! I'll definitely play those recommended by you and your viewers first.
I love extinction and aberration for how unique they are. I did a playthrough on ragnarok but I didn't enjoy it as much because it's just so damn easy. High levels everywhere, resources everywhere, super easy to get max level wyverns, and the bosses aren't even that hard but give OP loot (looking at you, lava elemental)
Yeah, dude you are right, Ragnarok it's too easy :V..., But I have to admit that It isn't surprise it is number 1, I mean the biomes are great and enormous ( the ragnarok map is by far the biggest ), many resources everywhere..., Strong creatures..., Yes, it's easy but tho, But because sometimes can get real hard such as on the SO FREAKING DIFFICULT Ragnarok's Desert cave, It's a map where PVP is so exciting, hard and epic
I honestly LOVE Crystal Isles, it has to be my first simply because it is so beautiful and it has so many great base spots for singleplayer and lots of resources, even a griffin trench and passive wyvern taming! (Rag is at my 2nd place because I play official with my friends and it's nostalgic)
@@mrlemonad6187 alpha plat in the canyon or caste plat are pretty decent base spots for pve but for pvp I would go in desert crack or something like triple waterfall
I don’t LOVE scorched earth, I think it’s decent. I think all the hate is just how similar everything is. It’s a a desert, a really big desert. The other maps are more diverse in that aspect
Aberration is so cool because of the lack of flyers. It really forces you to engage with all of the map. I absolutely missed my flyers when I was there but the map was one of the most fun maps of all of them I've played. That being said I also really liked scorched earth and I'm a little surprised it's so unpopular.
I remember when SE came out, I absolutely loved it. Everyone was such a sissy at ark and didn't want to handle the extra handicaps. I actually came across a mega tribe who only ran on SE because it kept them safe. No one plays SE, so no competition.
Scorched is not that not that hard once you set up and get dessert cloth and its the best for pvp you can get the jump on huge mega tribes during lightning storms and sand storms
@@DrewP.Shlong never play with tek when i do pvp its a small group of 9 to 10 people and tek is kinda off banned in agreement because 4 to 5 people cant grind as much as others so the limit is metal but the structure durability is increased.
Probably a tie between the isle and ragnarock for me, ragnarock has got everything and the island has nearly everything but feels a lil more homely than ragnarock if that makes any sense
I love the dangers and the lore of Aberration. I mean, diving into the radiation zone on your rock drake is just unforgettable and having a previous survivor who has explorer notes as a boss! Imagine if there was a side option before being beaten by Rockwell to do what he did, inject yourself with a full dose of molten element! (Hint Hint, Wildcard). That's the reason I don't really like the non-canon maps as much. I found a max level equus and giga in under 2 hours of spawing in the Highlands on Rag. Let the Rag defenders vs the Aberration defender war begin!
every map has its good points and bad points abb for pvp is simply amazing not just the limits it has with dino's but its resources are so good and the speciality items like rail gun unlock and sleeping pod are the best but rag is good too for loot drops if you just need a capped giga saddle bp or fabby bp quickest way to get it is to run the lava golem and desert loot drops rag also has some really insane spark powder farming spots like 20 slot caps on main official in less then 30 minutes, rag just has trash spots to build on multiple openings, large openings, easy to mesh into, and before you say mushroom cave its underwater which is easy af to soak and no amount of tuso's can out dps a couple of giga's on the back of a megachelon.
@@andreweastaughffe1070 Yeah, I agree but tbh Triple waterfall is a good spot if defended right. Extinction has its merits with tek bps and good loot from OSDs, easy element, and easy access to the Titans in addition to Manas, Velos, and Owls. Val has a few good spots. Center is better than ya think, with the lava area being one of the best for Giga taming, and plenty of base spots. Crystal isles is just a fantastic map as well. Crystal wyverns, easy access to Griffins at high levels, snow owls if you don’t own extinction, and a solid amount of defendable base locations, while also having easy artifacts for all boss fights (except extinction) Genesis has great creatures (Bloodstalker, Magmasaur, Ferox, and especially Megachellon) however it’s not the strongest PvP map IMO, with the ability to teleport and while also having no fliers in open areas it becomes a very challenging map to PvP on especially with so many dangerous creatures and half the map being unbuildable
Aberration is my personal favorite because the only “flyer” is unlocked at near endgame. This creates the best progression than any other map in my opinion. Also, each layer of the cave gets progressively harder and harder. First it requires light pets and much more awareness of the things around you. The second requires a hazard suit and only certain dinos can go down there. The third is the surface, you can only go up there at night and you NEED to bring a rock drake to get anything done up there. Aberration is also beautiful. Also, I have never played the genesis DLCs, but I don’t much like the teky future they possess.
My top 2 maps has always been Aberration and Ragnarok, and nice to see Im not the only one! Aberration gave people loads of challenges by not having flyers, and making the adventure part of the game so much more fun, exciting and engaging. Ragnarok was fun because it had everything to offer, from safe places to build and just have fun, to more difficult places with better rewards and creatures to tame.
It’s super hard to rank these maps. I like all of them aside from scorched. If the storms and generators didn’t exist it would probably soar up because of how much it changed the game. Super happy Ab is at 2 though, definitely the best DLC
I really enjoyed the concept, wish they did more with the major city, like it feels like New York , once you've been there you remember where everything is, but the domes are amazing especially the snow one where it constantly feels like your in a snow storm so you're actually struggling to get around, the desert dome has a beautiful vast open view aswell and the aberration section is always beautiful just like the original map
Aberration already is hardcore, you can put on hardcore mode, boom your going through ww3 , put on hardcore on Official then you're literally walking through hell and crawling to escape the denizens
I had no idea people loved aberration as much as me. it was a challenge. I've never done a boss on any map but I thought aberration was the most beautiful along with rag. I always thought the center and the island was everyone's favorite maps. I feel like everyone knew that rag is #1 just bc of all the biomes (except ab) and just how beautiful it is and easiest wyvern farming.
i remember when SE came out (favorite map btw, followed by Gen 1 and Extinction). I had to wait a week for my mom's paycheck to come in so she could buy it for me. I remember laying in bed watching that old Nooblets guide video. I watched it so much that I had the entire script memorized, and would talk along with him. I was like 8 then. I still hyperfocus on things like that.
The Center is criminally underrated. Huge shame but I get it. It's a map that's really dependent on how the server itself is ran. IMO it's one of the most fun maps to play meagerly with tiny bases and limited tames trying to go guerilla warfare against bigger tribes. Wish there was a modern version of its underworld idea with newer creatures and less flyers or spaces where flight is limited.
The only problem I have with Ragnarok is that they never finished the map, they couldn't finish the snow part, and there is a swamp zone that is only a land mass with nothing but water and crocodiles. Still a good map tho.
ok i wont do 10 diff comments lol here goes from a pve casual view! 9. extinction 8. genesis 7. valguero 6.crystal isles 5. abreeation 4. scorched 3. rag 2. island 1. center
@@slenderman478 in my personal experiences the island very very rarely ever has close to high level tames, however even on the other story maps I see high level dinos quite often. I also think the island as a Pve map has less resources to farm, but it has some of the nicesest looking Pve base spots. I like the story maps more than the dlc maps but the island should be swapped with ab and scorched should be where isles is
The center ranks low because it is seriously glitched. There is a known issue where no one but the host is able to enter the water without being teleported back out. Its pretty frustrating.
I’ll always love aberration, it was the first map I played with my best friend on (sadly we stopped talking a few years ago, and his steam account was last online 1111 days ago), and even now when I’m playing with my brother (it’s his first time playing, he’s liking it so far) I still made our base in the same place my friend built our first base. Good times.
I love SE as a solo player who doesn’t really even try to go for any huge achievements like killing bosses. It’s just so unique, having the survival challenge be the actual map itself, instead of the creatures themselves like on many other maps. However, I can absolutely see how it is terrible for multiplayer, as both water and oil would be ridiculously easy to camp and have a strangle hold on.
Abberation being completely secluded from the surface world makes me feel like I am among the last survivors exploring a foreign yet exotic environment. It truly brings out the adventurer in me. And the depth of the map experienced from the ground is just magical. I think it’s the fact that you have all these green veins and organisms embrancing the underground world, rather than skies and mountains creates a very special atmosphere. Will always be my favourite Ark 1 map - and the one with more memories.
Im one of those very few that really didnt like Ragnarok. Coming from a single player PVE standpoint I always felt everything was too spread out and sparse for a single person. I do however see it being a very good map with a bunch of friends. So in saying that from a single player PVE perspective I believe Abberation to be the top one along with the Center and Valguero.
I love the center, I think it's really cool that you play on a cluster of small islands instead of one big island, it makes the ocean feel like an actual part of the map, instead of just a place you go to get pearls and angler gel. My one big complaint is that the map is like fifty percent jungle, great if you need more wood than you can carry, not so great for literally anything else
even when aberrration has its flyers disabled in this map its not a big loss you never really think dam i wish i had a -BLANK- because its so fun, it distracs you from the fact that you cant fly. and also rockdrakes a semi flyers or could be considered one because the terrain of the map is perfect for it.
genesis is trash it brought some of my favorite creatures but the map structure sucks in no way is teleporting to a different biome ideal in pvp... you just get rocked while your console tries to load it fast enough. horrible.
Just wanted to give an opinion on all the places: Scorched Earth: I feel as if it's incredibly underrated and those who played it quit as they started just because they thought it was too hard and while fair enough, I feel as if it has some of the best additions to ark like embedding one of the most popular creatures wyverns. The only reason I don't particularly like this map is because its labeled as a story map but has nothing to do with the story. Center: I agree with its low position personally I don't like the center all that much just because it didn't really give much as the island is easily one of the best maps, and Center didn't really add anything but just made it more difficult and annoying to explore although its a very beautiful map despite it Genesis: Its bad should be lower: Valguero: I agree with it being middle ground in the maps as it was a pretty cool map giving abberation some recognition despite not adding the rock drakes and though It did add Deinonychus it took away some of the best features of Ragnarok such as the cool desert biome as well as the poison and ice wyvern. It was still a really cool map despite that and holds a solid ground. Extinction: Personally I am very biased about this map as its my favourite map and me and my friends had a blast playing this map. It has amazing new creatures massive titans and the map itself is really interesting how they did the city with the inevitable wasteland almost like scorched earth if it had a save haven which was really cool. the only thing this map did wrong however was adding stuff like corrupted wyverns and rock drakes with no actual way to get them. I feel as if Rock Drakes should be added in more maps as they're very cool and give the basilisk a chance to be tamed. Crystal Isles: I think Crystal isles is really cool and I think it deserves its place. The island: I agree with its positioning and don't have much to say Abberaiton: This being one of my least played maps I still love this map to death. The concept of the map was insane it had amazing new creatures an awesome new boss and lore to him, it was the branch leading towards extinction and the general gameplay of the map was very interesting as well in terms of managing light against nameless. Ragnarok: Hands down the best Ark Map for many reasons its the map holding the 4 main wyverns they added Griffins, they had a really nice desert biome extremely interesting ruins along with 2 new mini bosses which were really interesting. I love this map as it has so many cool base locations and is what gives Scorched earth its attention. There isn't much to say about this map but its just hands down the best map among many.
Valguero was actually meant to be a bit different. The mod dev wanted to add Drakes, Grifins(very rare spawn though) as well as some extinction dinos and assets (the brown tundra was actually meant to be full of those white blue sap trees from extinction). It was also meant to have wild argy nests. I honestly feel like with the expansion mod it's probably the best ark map. I'd personally disagree with Extinction though. The wasteland is cool, but unusable for building and annoying to tame in. The fallen forest is bare and not interesting. The snow/desert are nice, but nothing new. Gen1 (as much as I hate it) has a better snow and Schorched has a better desert. The city is nice, but the structures don't have interiors and it's overall too small. The creatures are nice and titans are cool, but the final boss gives literally nothing, and due to the beta version being insanely hard, it's not even worth doing imo.
That’s a pve opinion the center should be top 3 or 2 . Who cares about the history of ark ? Lol 🤪 genesis yh trash full of bugs and more And rag should be one of the worst map just like abb and gen ( literraly the only thing rag is used is for early bps on golem and then go do pvp at blue ob lol bunch of pves , same with crystal isles trash map only used for farming and maybe early taming some wyv and griffins .
@@juanpimartinez5345 Definitely agree with Center being a lot higher up after playing it a bit since then. I'll agree with Rag being a boring map but not one of the worst. It's definitely got one of the highest player counts for good reasons. Abberation I still think is a great map. No one gives a shit about abberation story, sure but like abberation regardless was really good. It has one of arks coolest bosses, really cool creatures like Rock Drakes, Basilisks and Karkinos. Similar to Scorched Earth actually gave the shoulder pets some use and overall just was a really fun map for me personally as flyers were disabled and that just made the effort that went into it worthwhile. Your right to say that I'm talking from a pve perspective but I've done my fair share of pvp on maps like abberation and still see it as a great map. Scorched Earth was a bad pvp map, but still my favourite map none the less.
Fun fact the mod devoloper for valguero wanted rock drakes and other abberation creatures in it but wild card thought that the official maps wouldn’t bring as many people to buy them if you could get the creatures in a free map
Me too man I don't have enough space on my PS4 to install the newest update so I'm stuck in pve. It's nice how peaceful it is without others but it's kind of boring
I do because i don’t like the concept of having to worry about getting constantly raided I just want to tame cool dinos and have fun cooperating with others
I just like that the maps are so different from one another. That's what makes this a good game. Having favourites, being able to choose, have you own playstyle. I just love it 🥰🦖
My top 4 are " I only played single player " 1. Abberation, the map is just unique, the beauty of the map itself combined with the beautiful music is just amazing... the first time I spawned in I was shocked, the music at the start instantly let me know that I'll enjoy this map, I did Abberation over 4 times by now all over again, with new survivor etc, single player. I just never get bored. 2. Crystal Isle, another beautiful map which gets even more beautiful at night where it truly shines, making that base on the floating isles in the Sakura area " It's what I call it ^^ " near the waterfall gave me the greatest view of the whole island. 3. Ragnarok, was my second ever map played and has a nice feeling to it when you explore, always something new to check. 4. Extinction, not as pretty as the other maps but sure is fun, lacks the exploring feeling for me however. Genesis part one, just ew.. I was doing each map walkthrough in order, Island, Abberation, Extinction, Genesis part one. I didn't have scorched earth due to it being unavailable in the PSN store when I checked for it. I played Genesis for a bit, got a base set and everything but just couldn't stand to play it anymore, skipped it and moved to Genesis part two, I am yet to start playing it as a story but so far it looks interesting.
@@I3ATTLE05 I played on the island for so long that I don't wanna go back to it, I did 4 or 5 full walkthrough on the Island, each taking 3 weeks to a month
Aberration my fav: the main theme music on the menu, the amazing creatures, the fact that there's no flying and the beautiful places with their challenges. Ah of course the lore.
I had a feeling Scorched Earth was going to be low, and of course its dead last. Its absolutely my favorite map. Has its own original style, with tons of new creatures that fit perfectly with the enviornment. Not to mention its the first introduction of Wyverns! The desert clothes are super cool, the jerboas are cute, and the lore is great too. Sure, the environment might be a pain, but its what makes it such a different and unique experience compared to the other maps. Definitely one of my favorites. SCORCHED EARTH UNDERRATED!!!
Its sad to se scorched earth like this, I love it and its an amazing map. Its just sad that they put all of the content from it in rag aswell and rag is free. Thats why nobody plays schorched earth at all.
No. They are modded maps and have nothing to do with the main story. All the maps have their charms but ragnarik should be renamed lagalot, which is why I don't do much there. Not much to valguero and center, though they are pretty, and crystal isles just has crystal wyverns but that is about it.
What I think we need is a map with lots of caves with small/crawl in entrances with lots of building space and a bit of water. Ideal pvp map with more than one or two spots to fight over
It's so dark I feel is the majority of the reason, it's the lighting, the ominous and mysterious feel it has as all the Dino's have a dark lightish and the grass is so fertile but at the same time fitting and blending into the environment, and all the stalagmites and the soft dark light to the rocks all the way to the trees, the massive mushrooms add to the curiosity as to how did such an abandoned and buried wonder become so wonderful? , it truly is an explorers paradise
I think my favorite maps have to be Valguero, Island, Ragnarok and Aberration, in no particular order! I absolutely adore Valguero, in no small part due to the fact that I can let myself forget about the huge awful ocean beneath the mercifully shallow lake. It's also so big that I feel like I've explored for hours but still haven't seen everything that's in the world. I have a lot of fond memories of the Island, even though some of those good memories are simultaneously the worst-- I lived nomadically on the ocean for the first 45 hours I ever spent in Ark, only for a Leedsicthys to team up with an alpha Megalodon and destroy my houseboat (and the many dinosaurs I'd crammed inside). It's an awesome story, but I have had nothing but bad experiences with water on that map. Ragnarok is just...beautiful. Absolutely stunning, so much so that I still don't know where I want to live on that map. I think I've settled on a place near the lighthouse, though only time will tell if I stay there or move on. Aberration really put my skills to the test. It was probably the first map I ever built something and felt extremely proud of it, because of how challenging it was for me to adapt to the new environment and lack of my favorite mounts (flyers). Playing on that map made me better at the game and almost every single moment was eventful. Still proud of my base there so I think I might share a picture. imgur.com/a/yDmxXvZ Best part about Aberration: there is NO deep water!! Did I mention I hate water?
I get why scorched was so low, but hell is it fun. The challenge of not being able to build with metal, needing to base near water, and not being able to travel much at day time for risk of overheating is such a cool challenge that forces people to change the status quo (which is why I think people hate it). Now you don't just look for hidden but easily defendable cave and get as much metal as possible, you look for a cool place near water that is as hidden and defendable as you can make it. In my opinion it's my favorite map, but I can understand why people hate it.
I’ve always hated the center because there are just certain places on the map where your base will be deleted without reason, and I only play single player and it still gets randomly deleted
I am so dissapointed that scorched is in last place... Its such a challenging map and it was the first map i ever played on for a longer time. The fact that it is so hard and that you stay in the beginning of you survival without having wyverns or anything for quite long makes it so facinating. Altough Abberation is defenitely my fav. Its so beautiful and i still don't know where everything leads to bc it is so complex. The lack of flyers makes it so different from the other maps, since you really have to survive instead of just flying back and forward to get more metal. I do think that ragnarok is a good map, but i have played it so much that i know it to well to have much fun on it. Don't really like genesis bc of the glitches and the splitted maps. Don't know about the center and valguero bc i haven't played it much. don't like extinction much bc the 'dead zone' is way to big and it is is not a real 'wild' map with the nature and dino's that ARK is all about. This is exactly why my number 3 is the island. It is just what ARK stands for. Just a world to survive on. Not to easy like ragnarok, not to hard like genesis and scorched. And it just has DINO'S. No weird robotic or alienlike creatures. this makes it such an amazing map.
The Center map spawns higher level dinos more often compared to The Island. (Seriously, I have yet to see a level 5 dino on that map, lowest I've seen are level 15s) Then again the same can be said about Ragnarok.
Just a heads up. We've held a new vote since this vid for the latest maps. You can find it here: ruclips.net/video/WQ9hs4AHuU0/видео.html

Scorched earth is a extremely interesting map. Hardest. Most painful to build on. Limited resources and water. But it is also pretty so I respect it for that
Ab harder but its a close second
If its official, i can agree, but privately would say abb is harder
@Trần Hoàng Quân i literally went scouting for a base spot on abb with a mana and i was stuck on the map for 2 hours with no way out lol
I loved CE especially since i used to play without using flyiers and it was a great map, but abb is 100% more interesting, every travel was an adventure.

I agree the Center is underrated here, it's the closest we'll ever get to an actual aquatic map (barring the ocean biome of genesis) where you can travel through the map on a boat or really make use of those mosa platforms
Plus the metal distribution is Insane
Hey t
You cant really use rafts in center considering the damn leeds spawn everywhere in the ocean and even the rivers sonetimes and the map has a few places where you can get stuck between rocks and when the fog happens paired with the sun its like being flashbanged even if u turn down gama but its not a bad map just needs work
Played on the center for a good while. It was some tough caves which are fun to tackle, but the coolest thing was the air pockets, so you could make hidden underwater bases. Also, proper water caves to explore.
@@nincumpoop4133 yeah the leeds do spawn in that shallower area where the small islands are located but i've never met any in the rivers going up to the swamp tho, but i got a motorboat to run through anyway

People call it lagnarok for a reason

The only issues with the map now is the boss fight is so limited and it's resource heavy to get the hardest boss fight but once you get it you can farm the lowest level boss fight easy and serval times a day because all you need is like 6 artifacts and only one is complicated to get so forget all you people who don't like this map

every map has its good points and bad points abb for pvp is simply amazing not just the limits it has with dino's but its resources are so good and the speciality items like rail gun unlock and sleeping pod are the best but rag is good too for loot drops if you just need a capped giga saddle bp or fabby bp quickest way to get it is to run the lava golem and desert loot drops rag also has some really insane spark powder farming spots like 20 slot caps on main official in less then 30 minutes, rag just has trash spots to build on multiple openings, large openings, easy to mesh into, and before you say mushroom cave its underwater which is easy af to soak and no amount of tuso's can out dps a couple of giga's on the back of a megachelon.
Scorched was always my favourite. The memories I have of getting my first wyvern has kept me coming back
Aberration is my personal favorite because the only “flyer” is unlocked at near endgame.
Personally my favorite is extinction but the list is still pretty accurate in my opinion
Ragnarok all day every day. It pulled me in with it's beauty and I kept coming back after realizing how easy it was to get a start. What a map
Genisis pt 2 will definitely be up there as one of the best! Keep up the good work man.
If you didnt play abberation on official, you missed out on a real challenge

I think Abb is a hidden gem( Played since 25$ beta )

Good times.
I play with my brother a lot too
So technically isn’t your best friend anymore
Crystal Isles will always hold a part of my heart ❤️ I adore how it looks and there’s basically an unlimited amount of cool base locations
Genesis part 2 is going to be amazing totally agree with the list
I love the center, I think it's really cool that you play on a cluster of small islands instead of one big island, it makes the ocean feel like an actual part of the map, instead of just a place you go to get pearls and angler gel. My one big complaint is that the map is like fifty percent jungle, great if you need more wood than you can carry, not so great for literally anything else

Scorched Earth is one of my favorite solo maps. I have a soft spot for it though. It was my first map not counting the island.
Just wanted to give an opinion on all the places:
Scorched Earth: I feel as if it's incredibly underrated and those who played it quit as they started just because they thought it was too hard and while fair enough, I feel as if it has some of the best additions to ark like embedding one of the most popular creatures wyverns. The only reason I don't particularly like this map is because its labeled as a story map but has nothing to do with the story.
Center: I agree with its low position personally I don't like the center all that much just because it didn't really give much as the island is easily one of the best maps, and Center didn't really add anything but just made it more difficult and annoying to explore although its a very beautiful map despite it
Genesis: Its bad should be lower:
Valguero: I agree with it being middle ground in the maps as it was a pretty cool map giving abberation some recognition despite not adding the rock drakes and though It did add Deinonychus it took away some of the best features of Ragnarok such as the cool desert biome as well as the poison and ice wyvern.
The island: I agree with its positioning and don't have much to say
Abberaiton: This being one of my least played maps I still love this map to death.
Tbh if ragnarok was just a bit smaller than i probably wouldve liked it more
That’s a pve opinion the center should be top 3 or 2 .
Subscribed you just for going with publics opinion on ranking . so nice of you
Thank you 😊
Seems like I'm the only person who solely does pve
Me too man I don't have enough space on my PS4 to install the newest update so I'm stuck in pve. It's nice how peaceful it is without others but it's kind of boring
@@theimpostorafungus1213 get a couple of friends to play with
@@kevbone8061 I would but I need to install the update to play online. Also I can't have many friends over because of the whole covid stuff
I play on single player pve
I do because i don’t like the concept of having to worry about getting constantly raided I just want to tame cool dinos and have fun cooperating with others
For me :
1st Genesis
2nd Ragnarok
3rd Aberration
I love Aberration so much...
I'm honestly surprised Valguero was so low because its my favorite map of all time
as a single player ark player, I would swap Abberation and Scorched Earth. I LOVE scorched and i absolutely HATE abberation.
I just like that the maps are so different from one another. That's what makes this a good game. Having favourites, being able to choose, have you own playstyle. I just love it 🥰🦖
My top 4 are " I only played single player "
Where is the island?!?
@@I3ATTLE05 I played on the island for so long that I don't wanna go back to it, I did 4 or 5 full walkthrough on the Island, each taking 3 weeks to a month
Abberation is my favorite map, love it, wish I knew about the vote
Aberration my fav: the main theme music on the menu, the amazing creatures, the fact that there's no flying and the beautiful places with their challenges. Ah of course the lore.
I wanna cry. I love scorched.
But ever since they started adding free maps with wyvs and golems noone has any reason to go on it
Imagine building a base above a death worm, who would do that, well definitely not me
Not a big fan of the center but it's the only map where my bases don't get found super fast
This game is so underrated. Honestly up there if not the best gaming experience I've had with friends. The journey is unparalleled.
I'm proud of this community for rating Aberation 2nd place its so awesome and unique from any map on any game ever.
Its sad to se scorched earth like this, I love it and its an amazing map. Its just sad that they put all of the content from it in rag aswell and rag is free. Thats why nobody plays schorched earth at all.
Ikr! wyverns should be exclusive to SE, along with many other creatures on it
@@jackc008 exactly
@@jackc008 im really glad phoenixes are SE exclusive, it would totally kill their wow factor if they were put on any other map
just delete lightning wyverns from ragnarok, do more nests on scorched earth, more locations to build and final ascension boss(+lvls)
Personally I prefer the actual cannon maps to the mod maps and my main base is on Scorched Earth. The heat is not an issue with tek structures.
Isn't mod maps also canon?
Ideal pvp map with more than one or two spots to fight over
I love ark not only for the adventure and awesome places, it’s because its fun to play with friends and i love how nice the community is 10/10 game.
The Island, Abberation and Extinction are my most favorite maps of the game. It's so beautiful and unique
Aberration is the most beautiful map, you don't have that feeling on any other map
What? Gut wrenching terror?
I love aberration too, just a great map in general
It’s such a shame to see scorched earth being left in the dust
Still proud of my base there so I think I might share a picture. imgur.com/a/yDmxXvZ
Best part about Aberration: there is NO deep water!! Did I mention I hate water?
I know this is an old comment, but I live your aberration base! It looks neat!
Most of these things are only annoying to me and all ae has is pjoenixes
I’ve always hated the center because there are just certain places on the map where your base will be deleted without reason, and I only play single player and it still gets randomly deleted
I love extinction because of the map, and the incredible lore
I can’t leave the island because of how nostalgic it is to me
Same
I am so dissapointed that scorched is in last place...
I love the difficult maps, it makes it much more meaningful and memorable when you finally get to the top
My home is the extinction map, i started there and i love it.
2016-17 were the glory days of Ark, though I am very exited for genesis 2
I love scorched earth
Center is low because it offers nothing unique. Better farming on other maps, and no unique creatures.
Also way to easy mes able
The Center map spawns higher level dinos more often compared to The Island.
(Seriously, I have yet to see a level 5 dino on that map, lowest I've seen are level 15s)
Then again the same can be said about Ragnarok.
The center is amazing, it's the first map I've ever used and still will always be
