    He said the most important thing in Italian in the beginning, where the translation in English was that he simply studied manuscripts. He mentions reading Cennino Cennini's epic work called the Trattato. This beast is the epitome of medieval thinking in art. A look into a mystery school of making shrines and spiritual icons. In this manual, you will learn how to do literally everything DIY. I learned how to make my own brushes, how to clean and store them, how to make panels, paint, and how to think. Most importantly, it teaches you that fine art is a sort of prayer session. Ora Et Labora; Work and Pray. Deep stuff from a Master Artist who gave us the gift of gifts 700 years ago. I recommend the edition with scholar notes, to get some context and perspective.

    PerfectoMundo Amigo!
    Thank you for sharing with us. Such a big heart you have.
    I loved the works of Andrew Wyeth growing up as he painted with egg tempura and a technique called dry brush.
    I bought pure pigments in 3 ounce jars to experience having used oils and acrylics like most artists. When they came in the mail I opened the jars and stared at all the earth pigments one at a time and couldn't hold my gaze for longer than a few seconds staring at some of the colors, especially cobalt blue.
    They were soo intense.
    I was amazed.
    Thanks again for sharing your gift with us.

      @@LorenzaSalamonFineArt Compliments, I like your tutorial. From my 20 years as iconographer I have question. How can you protect painting without varnish, because painting is vulnerable by fly, especially if the image has changed owner and is not stored separately. Fly like to eat egg tempera paint. Of course, without varnish, paint will be stronger thru time, keeping light of colors better than oil paintings and very resistant. Greetings from Serbia

      Marzio non applica alcuna vernice, e molti restauratori (ma mi pare di capire che siano linee di pensiero) sono d'accordo con lui. Se per ben tutelata, per almeno un paio di anni, la tempera cristallizza ed è resistente agli agenti inquinanti. In effetti noi abbiamo esperienza di decine di anni di vita delle sue opere e non riportano alcun problema.

    • @imafwatcher
      @imafwatcher 5 лет назад

      @@nicolecanela7097 Yes tumeric works for egg tempera. A mix of 8 drops water & 3 drops egg emulsion lightly (thinly) floated overwater & egg over the paint can keep your paint from moving/lifting. Do this when egg tempera is dry to the touch. Use a sable or squirrel brush to THINLY float the glaze over the dry tempera.
      I'm in Colorado, U.S.A. It is VERY dry here n our paints dry quickly & dehydrate in the palettes. We must keep our paint hydrated as it dehydrates, so our protective layer is put on w/o waiting too long.
