I love the studio cabins. Have used them many times. The studio lounge is very nice as well with hot drinks and snacks. The other good thing is NCL has more solo ocean view and balcony cabins on other ships like the Viva and Prima.
Thank you, Vanessa! I agree, the studio cabins and lounge are amazing for solo travellers. I did hear that NCL are now offering ocean view and balcony cabins to solo cruisers, which is great! 😊
I've been only once on a 8-day cruise to 6 Canary Islands but I loved it. The ship was much smaller, about 400/600 people and had 4/5 decks, 3 restaurants, one on board, with a jacuzzi. I absolutely loved the ship, it was old-fashioned like from a film. The food was great too. Lots of activities which I even didn't try. Even chess on the board, with huge wooden pieces. We used to travel at night, visit an island after breakfast and leave it in the evening. I wish I could go again one day.
@@TravelWithBen121 There are still smaller ships. My cruise was in February 2020, two weeks before lockdown in all Europe. Only 1 person had covid in Spain then.
I will be cruising on the Getaway last week in March from New York to Bermuda. Nice to see the ship through your videos, so pretty! Thanks for sharing.
I did that cruise. I wanted to scream. Too many days on the water. We boarded on Sunday, sailed until Wednesday. I was ready to jump off by Tuesday. Lol, then finally got off. I think we stayed in Bermuda Wednesday night, all day Thursday and started sailing Friday. And I did the Solo room, I loved that part of it.
@@Ilovemesomemj1 Great Melanie! I love sea days but there definitely needs to be a balance of port and sea days! Studio cabins are great! I loved them too.
Loving your video vlogs, man. We are sailing on Norwegian Getaway in Sept. '24 around the Greek Isles and Turkey and video's like yours are very much appreciated.
Thank you, Herrs! That's great, you'll love the Getaway! And that itinerary will be amazing for sure. This was a 13 day cruise and I made a vlog everyday so check out the rest if you have time, as the Getaway has so much to offer! Thanks for watching!

Hi Ben, taking a cruise is such a unique and exciting experience. It is interesting that a vessel so heavy and full of people can float across the Ocean. Enjoy the cruise.
You’re right, Richard! At one time it was huge but today it’s a ‘small’ ship as the ones being built are HUGE! Where did you sail on the Getaway? Caribbean?
Quite a few ships (launched post 2000) offer solo cabins, NCL are among the largest providers of these type of cabin. They tend to be limited in number & pricing tends to be higher (pp) than sailing as a couple but are cheaper than paying the solo supplement for traveling in a standard cabin. There are also solo meeting rooms on some ships where those traveling alone can meet with others traveling that way.
I enjoyed the video 😬. Love your positive energy and happy outlook. The good looks really yummy and the cabin looks comfy although a bit small. Is there a window or porthole in the solo cabin?
Thank you so much! Positivity is the best choice 👍 food is soooo delicious! You can eat all day if you want 😂 cabin is small but remember, it’s designed for 1 person so it’s perfect! No port hole, there is a window but it goes to the corridor 👍
@@TravelWithBen121 Hi Ben! Thanks for responding. I booked a 7 day solo MSC to Cozumel, Costa Maya, & Ocean Cay, Bahamas in September. Never been on a cruise before, but channels like yours are giving me the confidence to go.
@@TravelWithBen121 Thanks, I can't wait! Woohoo! I will of course watch all your recent videos, as well as go back and watch past ones. Your mom is so lovely, I hope to meet both of you one day on a cruise ship! :)
I found out that the size of the cabin really doesn't matter because you never in there anyway but one thing I have to have is some kind of window or you don't know when you even stop.
This cabin was perfect for 1 person in my opinion! But you’re only there to sleep so it’s okay. Trust me Ann, you can feel when the ship had stopped 😂 but it’s nice to know the weather outside.
it's like i'm on vacation with you 😀 your room looks like some of the walls are padded..are they expecting people to be knocked about during a storm? or...is it a loony cell? eek!
Hi Ben great review as a solo cruiser myself I was considering a studio cabin myself when I had a partner balcony cabin's were affordable but know not prepared to pay double.👍
Cheers, Gary! Of course a balcony is ideal but the double charge is something that is difficult! So the studio cabins are perfect! They’re definitely big enough and very nice inside! Thanks for watching 🙏
Hello Ben! Really enjoying your review since I will be cruising solo in a studio cabin soon. Very helpful. 👍🏻 I guess your cruise took place months ago? I ask because the American Diner used to be an extra charge venue (you show the menu with prices) but has recently been turned into a complimentary one very much in O'Sheehan's style. Could you please confirm this? Thanks! 😊
Thank you, Pan! Are you cruising on the Getaway as well? The studio cabins on Norwegian are soooo great! Perfect for solo cruising. This cruise was in October! Wow, I didn’t know that! It’s great the American diner is now complimentary. I went to O’Sheehan’s many times 😂 there’s more videos from the Getaway coming so look out for those! Thanks for watching! 👍
@@TravelWithBen121 Getaway indeed and my cabin is also odd-numbered, so just a few steps from yours! 😁 Great to know in advance how things are looking there before embarkation. Thanks again! 🤩
the beeping startled me! i thought it was you swearing because something was trying to break in through the ceiling! but then it kept going and i thought oh...maybe this is actually a sound being recorded... whew (or you cuss like a sailor...)
Do you get motion sickness at all? If I can ask what this cruise cost? I'm looking to do my first-ever cruise this December. Looking for an NCL Encore solo cabin, cruise from Southhampton to Miami. I'm a bit worried about motion sickness as I always feel nauseous when there isn't enough fresh airflow on my face, even on small ferries, planes, buses etc.
I didn't feel sea sick Brian, but I am experienced being at sea, it affects some people but not others. There's a video coming up in a few days where I explain how much the cruise way, so look out for that. NCL studio cabins are great, transatlantic cruises are good because you have port days to explore and plenty of sea days to relax. Beware that if you do that cruise in December, the weather will most likely not be good, so more chance of high seas. Good luck!
