I’m not for no tip orders but has anyone seen how much they from food delivers the price of food is higher and then they change customers delivery fee and some apps service fee then a tip on top of that. It’s like their food is double because they want delivery service. I won’t blame the customers it’s those apps charging too much.
Warehouse/factory jobs pay $18-$25 an hour. They usually will give you 50-60 hours a week. This guy is just using this video for views and hoping RUclips pays him if he gets enough viewers and likes LOL. Paychecks would usually be 750-900 a week. Maybe these Door dashers should get a better job then. Besides with my experience they always forget something. Get the order right or don't expect a darn tip. I cook myself to avoid this nonsense lmfao. But I like you did this video. But, a lot of DDs forget important items like sauce. The easiest way to avoid all the non tip bullshit is just avoid the orders that dont pay at least 2.50 a mile. If you have some experience, you can tell on doordash when someone doesnt leave a tip. If its a stacked order, then my completion rate is high enough to reject it. I, like most drivers should, multiapp. Thats how you make youre money in the gig economy. On, DD, I have to skip like 7 offers before getting a good one. His video is funny, but its up to the driver as well to learn the trade and avoid the shit orders with extreme predjudice.
Why should these platform delivery companies not pay their drivers sufficiently? I tip, but should DoorDash customers tip drivers who work for Tony Xu, with his 112 million compensation bonus last year? The drivers need to strike, and be paid a living wage. Why is this customer demonised because he maybe does not know how low the base pay is? Maybe it's not a tip problem, maybe it is a base pay problem. DoorDash is pitting its drivers against its customers. Pathetic.
Many customers do not know that each order is specifically for them. They assume we pick up multiple orders. They don't know the extent to which we wait. They do however know we use our own vehicle. Don't take orders that will make you angry. This is not complicated. Doordash could make a commercial pointing out information about dashers how we work and how wonderful we are. But they wont!!!!
it gives doordash a bad name and we lose customers who either stop getting food delivery or they move to another app... not to mention he is exposing him on camera i personally would be so embarassed i would never order food again
I mean I’m not a delivery driver, so take this question from someone who is ignorant on how this all works. Why do people work for delivery services that basically count on the customer to pay the driver a liveable wage? I want to tip drivers because I appreciate the service, but I hate that companies create an animosity between customer and driver by pointing the finger at the customer to essentially pay the driver. This is especially weird when you figure that services like Grubhub charge a delivery fee, a service fee, and a delivery fee based on the state you reside. The tip at this point is basically a game of chicken. The company dares you to not pay it by auto tacking it on to your bill and you have to go out of your way to take it off if the price is too steep making you the problem if you do so and inviting confrontation from the driver. If the price for getting it delivered is so much higher not including tip, why isn’t a good amount of that going to the drivers? It’s not like they have crazy overhead like brick and mortar stores do. I’d honestly rather the service not exist than people fight each other over a problem that exists at a higher level. TLDR, why work for a company that pays a laughable wage when tip isn’t included? It seems more like a raffle than a job.
Yeah that’s the thing drivers are the ones with an overhead such as gas, maintenance on vehicle, and they have to pay high taxes on the money they earned. But I believe no tip no trip if a no tip order is added I just chalk it up to have done my charity run for the night. But I take the tipping order first.
To avoid these situations altogether, DD should make the minimum tip $1.00, then we will never have no tip orders…sure people will still get mad at $1.00 tips but it’s still better than $0.00! 🤷🏻♂️
