I love how asphodel's leitmotif is that low hum droning sound coupled with an ominous, slow, echoing drum beat, and that you can hear it both in Asphodel's theme and in this track as well.

I love how you can hear him get more and more prog over time. Like bastion was pretty straight up, Transistor had a few odd time signatures and syncopations, Pyre had flawless changes between 5/4 and 6/4 all the way through in Through The Valley, and now THIS. God, I'm in awe.
@@sageanastasi2028 and in general the structure he adds to the soundtracks like the transitions between the main theme/downriver/downside ballad. those types of continuity pieces between tracks that happen in pyre are really interesting as well.
I love how he uses the 5/4 time signature so perfectly. Just enough off traditional beat to create a sense of unease, but almost always 4 notes per measure to make it sound like it's in 4/4. Expertly done
It's 5/8 based on the coupling. But yeah it's phenomenal.

@@n1thecaptain965 lmao instead of the traditional beat of 4 beats per measure, he used 5. Much like the mission impossible theme, it's enough to sound off but not enough to really notice the difference

This alone makes the game an instant buy for me, i love me some prog rock, Greek mythology is cool as fuck, and Darren Korb is an absolute LEGEND

I want to wear a Chiton and do an intricate dance in circles with tambourines and the bones of sacrificed animals to this. Hard stomps and high kicks and rythmic jumps. So cool! So fun! So very SuperGiant!

The part at 2:07 reminds me a lot of the Lightning Chariot Base track from Kid Icarus Uprising. The driving rhythm and drone in the bg is similar I guess.

I get Prince of Persia Warrior Within vibes. Finally some heavy metal themed music.

Am I weird that this reminds me of something similar to Court of the Crimson King? Kind of spooky and epic (using the word to mean grandiose and large in scope)

I like how this track sounds almost like Lament of Orpheus in parts. It's a moment of solemnity in an otherwise powerful track.
I love the throwback to what I believe is MAtt Uelman's Diablo with some of the hard hitting drums for Tartarus. This soundtrack is phenomenally genius.

Sounds like it's dropped a half step down? Maybe a full step. Some songs on the bastion soundtrack are as well. It might also have the low E string dropped to D.
