Fun little fact about the music in hades I only just learned a few minutes ago. That motif with the 4 notes (you know the ones) is whats known as "Dies Irae", which is an latin hymn that was sung during funerals. Since then, its been adapted and used in hundreds of shows, movies, and games (if any of you play Dead by Daylight perchance, try humming that main motif you hear in a lot of its music. You'll notice the similarities.) . It is, in essence, the theme song of Death. Good play to you, Darren Korb. Good play to you.

A friend literaly convinced me to buy the game with the soundtrack. This soundtrack made me buy it and will probably make me buy Hades II because in my canon Darren Korb is the greek god of music.
I recently watched a composer react to God Of The Dead (Alex Moulaka I think) and he made a very interesting observation: the main theme of the game, which we hear at the beginning of No Escape, might represent Zagreus questioning his father (cautious, rising melody), then his father implacably shutting him up on the topic (energetic, rock-y melody returning to the first note). Then Zagreus pushes once more, determined, and the rest is energetic for their eventual clash. Even the loop kinda makes since Zagreus dies and tries again, even more determined. "Father, I don't feel like I belong here." "I won't address any of your issues." "Fine, I'm leaving then." "Oh, I don't think so!"
