So true. I hate Alecto, especially when she gets her rage bar and spite out those blade rifts of doom. I can deal with the other two just fine, but she always presents such a challenge for some reason.
@@DannySmithson she and the other furies are one of many reasons to take athena’s attack or even better - dash. They generate so many attacks it just deletes them.

this game always makes me frantically switch between three mindsets:
- analyze how awesome everything looks
- DAMN stop analyzing, SURVIVE

Basically my experience with Cuphead
The fight music getting you hyped is the greatest trap in the game.
It’s the leading cause of caution being thrown to the wind in most players I think.

@@Cairo40000Yea but a Combo I Found Better is Nemesis Sword Aspect with Artemis and Athena Boons. Add Daedalus Hammer Upgrades and Nothing Can Stop You. Even with Extreme Measures + 30% Health increase.
@@thatguy3925 See, that combo's really good for clearing the game fast on low heat, but once you add other shit like no healing, double hit immunity and the motherfucking TIMER then you need to use the damage meta.

I'm still quite new as I've just beaten the game yesterday but the shotgun upgrade with Poseidon strike is pretty nasty. I kept getting the Plume speed upgrade every single encounter since I got the combo.

I had a perfect run with Exagryph, but got reckless on a Thanatos challenge in Elysium. Couldn't bring it back enough to kill Hades and died in the 2nd phase.

This fight and what happens at 3:31 are what took this game to a new level for me. Holy shit, what a heel turn. Fucking love it.
Same. I had that experience. The thrill of the song and the fight itself was a perfect combination. It's like this song is literally meant to be this specific boss fight's theme. Seriously though, it was easily my favourite moment from this game so far by a landslide.
Edit: It was specifically at 4:04 that I had the thrill, but I do know what you mean.

Classic Zagreus right there
Megaera just gives me this "tranquil fury" vibe. Like, she acts so calm and collected almost all the time, but you can tell she's excited, simmering with glee under the surface at getting to fight a worthy opponent like Zagreus. You can see glimpses of it when she really comes at you, like her fireball nova: "*HRAAAAGGGHH!!*"

I absolutely love the Greek / Middle-Eastern vibes of this game's soundtrack, in particular of this track. I've always been a huge fan of Darren Korb's melding of styles into a cohesive tone that permeates the whole game and gives it not only a flair, but an identity of its own. It happened to me with Bastion and Transistor, with which I became instantly infatuated, and this game promises to deliver an equally immersive experience. Keep the good work, you rock!

i know it’s two different influences and nationalities, but because i’m a fuckin boomer this ost gives me prince of persia vibes and it makes me really want a switch just for this game
Funny thing is that the main instrument is the Turkish bağlama. Well it got affected by Arabesque in the past but the instrument is of Turkish origin.

The music intruments are byzantine in origin therefore greek. The ottomans were influenced and adopted many byzantine themes music architecture and state goverment. Just like romans did with ancient greece. Turkey is a mongol origin and has nothing to do with western civilization. Bouzouki and baglamas originated from constantinoples lavta. Its not turkish. Anatolia even has many ancient greek and byzantine momuments.
The fact that they are dropping early ost's already makes me a believer in this company, I look forward to investing and playing this title. This company is heavily underrated to say the least; especially when it pertains to indie games.
Supergiant is the best indie studio in gaming IMO. Their team is tiny and they still have top tier art, gameplay, soundtracks, and writing in every single game they put out. Not to mention their games are always heavily polished and have very few bugs. Their talent is astounding.

I love Meg as a character and that love came to light not from the beginning. That click for her character for me was when she told Zag that it insults her that after killing her he doesn’t even stop to gloat his victory. He just moves on as if it’s a routine. Eventually fighting Meg even with extreme measures becomes a routine and that hurts her a lot more than if zag was to rub it in her face. Love this girl.
It depends on your relationship with her, if you both good, then dialog is less harsh even without much of a spite
At some point she'll suggest the only reason you can beat her is with the help of the Olympians and Nyx's mirror, and if you beat her afterwards with 0 upgrades she'll get super upset and just ask if you take pleasure in wiping the floor with her every run. Was a bit of a gut punch ngl :/
@@ellagage1256 This depends on your closeness to her. If there is no bond, then she will be bitter about that, but in romance it won't be harsh and she would be fine with Zagreus's skill progress

From the looks of it, the game's story looks pretty tragic. When Hades says "no one can ever leave my realm" I'm pretty sure that includes himself.
The story is essentially a son abandoning his father and eclipsing him. That's bitter and twisted.
Or maybe I'm reading too much into it...

@@Continental_Champ Ca's theory fits the official legend. Hades was banished into the underworld by his brother and cannot leave (except for very rare circustances I beleive and Zeus must allow it.

There's a specific mode I get into while playing this game:
Enter room
Dash around enemies
Focus
Lose sight of everything except the enemies
Start ripping through them and dodging their attacks
And then notice how the music is hyping you up
Get into a rythm of dodging, killing and vibing with the music.
I just love it man
It reminds me of Bastion tracks like Terminal March, but then suddenly METAL RIFFS

My reaction when i first heard the bass drop fighting best Tsundere Meg gave me so much hype i felt like i was going Super Sayian.
Darren, you gosh darn genius, you. How do you make so many different, incredibly high-quality soundtrack yet still keep them all in 'your style'? How do you do that? It's like the once-in-a-career move when a band switches their genre or sound, but you've done it 4 times already.

I love this game sooo much! Haven't finished yet but I love how OP you can feel on one run through the Underworld and think you're invincible. And the next - you realise you are about as strong as an anchovy bc you switched weapons and you're favourite boons aren't appearing.

This song goes from being afraid of dying to the boss to becoming the boss itself and tearing through everything that comes your way with a smile in the face of death as blood rains around you.
3:30 was the point where I thought to myself "Oh okay, we're DOOMing now".
Not gonna lie this is by far my favorite song on the soundtrack! Though I haven't heard all of it I like how it keeps changing yet still keeping it's original sound! This whole soundtrack is amazing though so thank you to the creator of these fine tracks for the amazing experience!
