I'd like to think Hades is actually very proud of Zagreus for this achievement but can't say it because he has to keep up the appearance of being a fierce god and stern dad.
I wonder if there's a special line that plays when you never got any blessing - ever. Probably not, as these lines seem to be made to cover both circumstances (with the pool of purging obviously being the most likely one), but it still would be sweet if there was one for those who never even touched the blessings.

wait, that second one, is Hades actually in support of Zagreus getting help from the gods? Or is it just a knowledge that if Zag beats him without assistance then it is definitive proof that Zag is better than him?
If I remember correctly, he admits Zag is better than him but advises not to mention it ever.
I'd like to think Hades is actually very proud of Zagreus for this achievement but can't say it because he has to keep up the appearance of being a fierce god and stern dad.
Hades: How tf did you survive?
Zagreus: Wouldn't you like to know weather boy
weather BOY!!!💀...☠☠🩸 .. 👑
I hadn't even considered that you could've purged them until he said it ahhaa
I wonder if there's a special line that plays when you never got any blessing - ever.
Probably not, as these lines seem to be made to cover both circumstances (with the pool of purging obviously being the most likely one), but it still would be sweet if there was one for those who never even touched the blessings.
A great boonless run to try is one where you make use of the Canon and roleplay as a mobile artillery unit during the whole run, Sisyphus brace max level and all boonless talents on the Mirror.
*Time to go boom*
I didn’t even know this was possible
I resent that, Father!
First Dialogue: doubt
Second Dialogue: *Bri'ish doubt*
That night or day not sure its hell ! Zagreus walked tall towards his father Hades without boons and received the worst ass whooping of his god dam life .... To never be reborn again ...
No boon runs, need sysiphus keepsake, max aspect (any save Guan Yu unless you're confident that you can fight Hades hit less), get keys whenever possible to get more rerolls, go Hearts, Coin, and Hammer, well of Charon is your friend. The ultimate No Boon Challenge would be ExM4.
No one, not even the best have beaten Max Heat. If you were a demigod, you could beat it, if you were a true God, you could do it Boonless. Imagine Kratos faced with such a challenge
finally a fair fight
What I love about these comments, is that all these people probably got to the point where they can reliably defeat Hades in almost every run, myself included. I love the skill curve of this game and how climbable it is!
Lol, it never even occurred to me not to have boons.
I remember purposely dying one time cause I used to many rolls for the same outcome
then hypnos has a dialog for it
did i just get 30 second unskipable ad?
I managed to get this dialogue with Guan Yu and Sysiphe's trinket. Also it works if you get Chaos boons along the way to help you a bit in this journey.
I forget how good the voice acting and art is for this game.
Nicely done I'd say.
"Boonless."
This game is mostly a regular to above average game that the creators managed to make super ultra replayable by adding hundred times more dialog than any other game of this size would have.
I feel like 80% of the effort went to making the pages of dialog and putting the conditions for them. Plus, that doesn't even sound like work, that sounds like fun
That Jazz reference tho
I came here looking for the dialogue of defeating *Megaera* without boons.
Hades is fine too.
0:59 wait he meant "the stink of olympus" literally 😭 not the sniffing
Thanks for this.
When I did it, I was running the Eris Rail and had the Shattered Shackle, which is quite a potent combo.
If you're good at timing your dash...
I'm a little sad they didn't have unique checks for if it was truly no boon or if they were all purged in the previous room
did kinda expect hades to be kind proud?
I didn't even know it was possible to do that
Forgot to show the part where you got MURDERED not having any boons.
No unique dialogue on that, believe me I can tell :)
I fucking adore this game
I did this once, absolutely loved it up until the hades right, then hated it, I still won, but that fight is annoying as shit without any boons, especially when he decides to heal and undo all the damage you did in the last 5 minutes
Son. Did you get all this way without olympus?
Yes.
Impressive. Very well then, you may proceed.
Omg, thank you father!
Sike.
I remember doing this multiple times. Almost lost everytime.
