It is a superb camera, Vic! I've had mine for almost a year now. Just used it in Japan. DJI should give you a spare, just for all the great things you've shown us, and said about the camera! I was wondering... Do you use the sharpness feature on the camera, or when you edit? I have been using it in Final Cut (at the first sharpness setting of 2.5) and now I'm thinking I shouldn't use the sharpness on the camera or when processing in Final Cut. Your videos (as well as some other reviewer's videos) look so warm and cinematic, which I suspect is because you're not overdoing the sharpness thing. Also, on a closeup of your Pocket 3 screen in this video, I think it displayed EV of -0.03. Does it do that automatically in the 'Auto' mode? Thank you! Oh! Almost forgot! For extra zoom, I bought a Sony RX100 VII, which I wouldn't dare think of walking with, or fussing about with a gimbal. I will only use it standing very still to zoom in on something far away when needed, and for a bit of photography and panning (VERY SLOWLY!) with zoom.
Hey Joe 🤣 - I generally keep the sharpness as low as it will go in camera as I find it looks too digital. If it needs a touch up I’ll do it in post. Hmmm can’t remember but usually the EV option is just in auto iso.
Like your review, but as someone from Ireland as well I think a major flaw is that's you can't have it out in wet conditions. I mean we very rarely have a dry week and when we are you camping etc there is usually at least one day that would mean that it can't be used so still have to pay for an extra action cam which doesn't mind the moisture. Have you used it out on a typical winter Ireland day?
Cheers. To be honest something like this isn’t suited for outdoor content a lot of the time on this side of the pond. Granted I’ve had it out in damp conditions, snowy conditions etc all without issue. So an action cam is better suited for those conditions. But that’s the trade off ultimately. A lot of cameras and electronics aren’t weather sealed or waterproof but it’s not necessarily a flaw it’s just different gear for different needs. 99% of the time if it’s raining I’m not shooting outdoors so all the one to me. As I said though, different gear for different needs.
I would 😂 Btw the mic is also very sensitive. I dropped only once and it started acting up. Kept on losing connection then reconnecting - that rendered the recording useless 🙄
Nice job on this video👍🏻 I just got one the other day, opening it up this weekend. I got it mostly for low light and dark rides at the Theme Parks. I’ll be watching all of your videos on this camera. Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
I love what DJI are doing in the camera market. I haven't bought a Pocket yet as I'm waiting for a 50mm or equivalent lens, but I'm sure there is one on its way.
Hi. I agree with all your points, especially the tracking in low light, that should be possible, especially when talking to camera and moving, it should at least be able to track the face in low light. I wish it was waterproof like the action cameras and perhaps the osmo pocket 4 will be? I think the free Lut that DJI provide for it if you're shooting in Dlog M is FANTASTIC and I don't think it gets enough praise, especially if looking for that 'cinematic' look, it works brilliantly well. But in all honesty, auto mode pretty much does everything most people want. Once a bit a more experienced, get some ND filters and play around with the settings etc then. My only bug bear with this brilliant little camera is the focus it often does, where it doesn't know what to focus on resulting in that pulsating footage. That's annoying and could be better. Otherwise, awesome camera and way ahead of many cameras three times the price. Thanks! (Looked like Kilkenny you were driving around in but don't think it was)
Hey. Thanks for the comment. Yeah. Sometime like this will never be waterproof. Very different “audience” I feel. Weather sealed might be an option at some point. Yeah. The nd filters are a must (few vids around them on my channel) but depends on what you’re doing. Some folks may not ever need them or won’t want to use them. Defintely not Kilkenny 😉
Great full review! I have my OP3 also for a year now and I don't even think of replacing it with something else (except probably with an OP4 🙂) and I made plenty of videos with it. Never had any issue. The only bit of a problem for me are the tiny ND filters but I don't complain. And another "problem" is to explain to a potential client that seemingly tiny toy can do a great job 😄 ~Philip
*Hi Vic ! 😀You can even adjust the automatic follow speed to slow, and you will obtain a "less abrupt" tracking, whereby the OP3 will track and move to follow in a slightly less deliberate, smoother, more graceful manner. 👍*
Thank you so much. I was in a dilemma whether to buy pocket 3 or wait for something new.. Now i have made up my mind I'm definitely getting one soon.. 😀
I returned mine because it's not good for shooting tech which the channel I run on a different account. The barrel distortion of 20mm isn't ideal and I found that in studio lights and in medium light it couldn't keep up. So I just stuck with carrying around my full frame camera. I did love it for vlog style content though.
Cheers Damien. Yeah I’ve found it super useful in “the real world” - definitely worth asking Santa for one. Hope all is well on that side of the lake 🙏
Awesome video, you alleviated my fears I had about overheating. I know if I use it out in the Florida heat it still is possible, but in the studio as a streaming cam it seems it’s gonna be perfect. Now I gotta find the money haha
❤ Love to see you back ❤ Great video ❤ Not gonna lie I still haven’t got the full hang of mine & how to download the footage but I am slower than the average person 😊lol Your videos have got me to where I am with it though ❤Thank you Hope your wife is well 🥰❤️💯🙏🏽
Thanks Susie. Well on the way to recovery now thankfully. On downloading the footage get a cheap sd card reader. Probably the fastest way to get the footage IMO
"Vic's talking to a bird. That doesn't understand English." Is that what language you've been speaking? Didn't recognize it. 🤣🍀 I'm kidding!!! The Pocket 3 is truly a "game changer" for anyone that just wants to capture their travels and have some fun. You are using it exactly as intended - full AUTO mode!! I've beat the crap out of mine and it's still working just fine. Great 1-year review!
@ right down on the seafront / the road that is that’s got the old brick tower! I spent 3 years in Ireland with my partner - filmed and photographed the Otters of cork city and harbour! Love Cork, and we’re often visiting!
I keep thinking I want one, but just can't justify it. But the video out of it looks great, and videos like this make me want to watch it again! There is just too much to buy
Odd, I can't get a smooth video out of it like you did 'when you were moving fast towards the water', even when walking slow. mine bouces up and down and it very distracting.
Really? You'll always get some (there's a bit in mine) as this gimbal doesn't stablize all axis, try creating a few more pivot points in your arm etc - If it's really bad up and down, it's hard to say if it's a gimbal issue or not. So not sure.
😀 If I had any sense I would use an Osmo 3 instead of my Panasonic HMC 151 (..or Z1 with a Firestore), tripod, extra batteries when making mountain wild camping vids ! But I am grateful for the cams I use..
This was my second camera that I purchased and I wish I had waited….I rarely use it, I use my DJI Action5 and my Insta 360 x4….a waste of my money! It’s literally in the bottom of my purse! It’s a great camera but, I should sell it!
The fact you have to activate this camera means Im not buying it sadly. Its ridiculous you have to have an up to date phone, download a massive apk file app and then give away a shed load of permissions just to use a camera.
Hey. Personally doesn’t bother me but I totally take the point and it’s valid. Nearly everything needs a phone or internet connection these days and it’s frustrating as hell. Thanks for the comment.
There he his back in the game! Well done, sir. Great round-up of this amazing little camera!
🙏 Thanks Richard. And thank you for the support. Appreciate it ❤️

It didn’t follow you at the beginning as it doesn’t like to turn right :-) great vid ! Still love mine
Cheers bud
I would 😂
Btw the mic is also very sensitive. I dropped only once and it started acting up. Kept on losing connection then reconnecting - that rendered the recording useless 🙄
Is that the DJI mic?
Nice job on this video👍🏻

Awesome stuff. Enjoy it 🙏
Do you think the next version will have 2 lenses? Would be nice to have a 2x or 3x lens as well.
Hey John. I’d love if they would or have a “pro” version with that option.
I love what DJI are doing in the camera market. I haven't bought a Pocket yet as I'm waiting for a 50mm or equivalent lens, but I'm sure there is one on its way.
As much as I like to think they will do another lens version you’ll be waiting I reckon.

Hey. I’m very aware of that Mark (it’s been covered in a previous video) this was completely auto “out of the box” style. Cheers for comment
Thank you so much. I was in a dilemma whether to buy pocket 3 or wait for something new.. Now i have made up my mind I'm definitely getting one soon.. 😀
No worries 🙏 enjoy it
thanks going to get one hoping for a black Friday deal
Yeah. Not sure if they’ll be a deal or not but best of luck 🤞

I’ve shot a tonne of broll with it to be honest in a studio setting and had zero issues tbh. But whatever works for you Daniel. Thanks for watching.
This is great to hear, I'm surprised I haven't picked it up yet to be honest! Great Review!
Cheers Damien. Yeah I’ve found it super useful in “the real world” - definitely worth asking Santa for one. Hope all is well on that side of the lake 🙏
I feel like it’s going to be the perfect cam to run around with the kids, and a solid BTS cam
My friend Randy just got one and he loves it 😊
Awesome stuff Louis
Awesome video, you alleviated my fears I had about overheating. I know if I use it out in the Florida heat it still is possible, but in the studio as a streaming cam it seems it’s gonna be perfect. Now I gotta find the money haha
Glad it was helpful!
@ definitely was, for now I have to use my iPhone 16 pro max on a DJI OM 6 bit Christmas is coming!!! Haha
@@KayachtLife 🤣
Dia Duit a chairde. Glad to have you back and hope all the family are well. Love my OP3 and have learned a lot from your vids. Keep at it.
Awesome! Thanks Tim
I wish there was something similar like the Osmo Pocket 3, but with a telescopic lens like it is in the Dji Mavic 3 Pro
Who knows. I reckon it’s definitely possible but 🤷♂️
❤ Love to see you back ❤ Great video ❤ Not gonna lie I still haven’t got the full hang of mine & how to download the footage but I am slower than the average person 😊lol Your videos have got me to where I am with it though ❤Thank you Hope your wife is well 🥰❤️💯🙏🏽

Thank you 🙏🏽 for that I will give it a try.
Stay Blessed! ❤️🙏🏽💯🥰
Great show 👍
Thanks for watching
I see you got that beard lined up, rocking the blue hoodie with the vest. Looking smooth, my man!👍🏾👏🏾🤜🏽🤛🏽💯🔥
Appreciate that

Love the fact in this you drove past where I used to live! I thought the area looked like Cobh/great island!
Hey Tom, no way!! That's cool! Where abouts did you live excatly?
@ right down on the seafront / the road that is that’s got the old brick tower! I spent 3 years in Ireland with my partner - filmed and photographed the Otters of cork city and harbour! Love Cork, and we’re often visiting!

How has it been 12 months??
🤣 tell me about it
😀 If I had any sense I would use an Osmo 3 instead of my Panasonic HMC 151 (..or Z1 with a Firestore), tripod, extra batteries when making mountain wild camping vids ! But I am grateful for the cams I use..
Ha! I get that, but at the end of the day, they're tools so whatever works best for you Sarge :)
@ Hi Vic.. I actually like both.. Very lucky to have acquired them…
We have one.. It goes on a buss occasionally when closing. I'ts just saying good bye :)
Ah another cork person! How are ya?
👋 hey
@VicBarry hope you managed okay with the first weather warning and the one we have for the weekend
Aaaargghh - What's that 'orible buzzing noise in the background at 8:10? Tell me it's not the Gimbal going into overdrive !
🤣 someone was cutting grass or a tree or something. Deffo not the gimbal
@VicBarry Brill ~ That was a bit of a shock!
Great camera but very flimsy. Mine broke after 2 months, I got a replacement since it had a 2 year warranty. Sold it and bought the action 4
Hey 👋 how did it break?
@VicBarry the screen didn't want to stick in position anymore it was stuck at 45°. There is a video on my channel all about it
This was my second camera that I purchased and I wish I had waited….I rarely use it, I use my DJI Action5 and my Insta 360 x4….a waste of my money! It’s literally in the bottom of my purse! It’s a great camera but, I should sell it!
Hey 👋 thanks for the comment. Why do you rarely use it ?
The fact you have to activate this camera means Im not buying it sadly. Its ridiculous you have to have an up to date phone, download a massive apk file app and then give away a shed load of permissions just to use a camera.
I haven't activated it, it works great. Captured priceless videos of my kids.
I'm not streaming video though, so I can't speak to that.
