  • Just an informal video on the leaked DeathAdder V3. Look how they massacred my boy? Or an ambitious shape update? Little-a-both seems to me.

Very longtime DeathAdder user, I worry a bit that this revision is catering to the crowd that never liked the DA rather than the crowd that does - depending on who you are, you might love or hate that. In particular I'm concerned about how they've changed the back mousehump & backright support hump (what your ring/pinky fingers wrap around in a palm or relaxed fingertip grip) which are both practically perfect for my hand size (19.5 x 10.5 cm) and grip style on the current V2/Pro. What I personally want from a DeathAdder V2 successor does not meaningfully alter the ergo shape (which I find to be pretty dang awesome), but there are other areas that I would love to see updated:
    1. Shift the side buttons closer to the mouse hump (closer to the side opposite the clicks I mean). Make them the same size while you’re at it - the furthest forward button has always been uncomfortable to reach. It is easier to move the thumb backwards than to move it forwards which necessitates shifting your entire hand/grip forward.
    2. Lengthen out the front of the mouse where the clicks are a bit since my fingers always come off the end (I align the mouse hump to the base of my fingers then relaxed fingertip/palm it with 19.5 x 10.5 cm hands). The EC1 for example is longer than the DA so this doesn't happen to me with that mouse (I also find the furthest forward side button more comfortable to reach on the EC1 than the DA, though I prefer the mouse hump/back right support hump on the DA V2 which is why I main it over the EC1).
    3. Shrink that bar of plastic that contains the DPI buttons so that it’s just the size of the buttons then move it up against the scroll wheel how it was on the ELITE. Much easier to reach that way during gameplay.
    4. If I’m just building a wish list make the coating/material the same as what the Superlight is using and slap on some good split trigger switches (the images make it look like this might be what they're doing actually, those clicks look awesome) and the mouse is perfect and I’ll keep buying them for the rest of my life.
    5. Right now the flair has very "sharp" edges/ends where the side plates meet the front of the mouse (the front being the section of the body underneath the clicks). I actually rather like the flair, but I do think they should "round off" the section where the sides of the flairs meet the front as now they're very "angular" and sharp so if you do happen to hold the mouse that far forward where your ring/pinky fingers come off the end then you'll feel the sharp "end" of the side and it doesn't feel too great where those pieces connect. If this were rounded like it is on the EC1-C for example would feel a lot better imo and you could do that while still keeping the flair itself in tact.
I actually don’t mind the flare at all personally since the V2 update where it’s flatter on the bottom (gives a lot of space for fingers for thick finger lads up top). What worries me about these leaked images is it looks like the support hump on the back right of the mouse has been made smaller and the whole back side of the mouse (side opposite the clicks) seems to have been meaningfully altered - if anything I usually find myself wishing that support hump on the back right (the side without side buttons opposite the clicks) was bigger rather than smaller. It seems like every mouse is trying to be a claw grip viable mouse these days, but the entire reason I love the DeathAdder is because it’s so comfortable to relaxed fingertip/palm, I personally hope they don’t compromise that aspect or I’ll have to move to another mouse. Anyhow, thanks guys, have a good one.

yea i feel like they couldve branded this under a mamba instead of deathadder. the deathadder shape is very iconic and should keep the best parts of it.

I agree, the Mamba always seemed more like their “safe” more EC-like Ergo whereas the DA was more specific in what it did and had more aggressive flairing/curves. I’m excited to try the V3 but I am sorta worried by some of the shape changes as someone who loves the current DA.

agree with everything you said. except i claw grip the DA and the right side slope that i can press downwards & inwards with my ring finger is crucial for me. couldn't find any other mouse that has this.
i have an unopened box of DA v2 so if my current DA chroma dies i will use that

I’m actually doing the same in getting a “backup” - since the V2 pro is so cheap right now I’m picking one up since this shape which I love might truly be dead going forward. Feelsbadman

    Razer mamba wireless v2?

Oh yes I hope this is real, i always loved the shape of the razer deathadder, very ergonomic, but for fps games it was uncomfortable when doing fast movements because the shape is too wide, but as i see they will remove this problem.

Good content. Don't take this the wrong way, but I recommend a de-esser plugin for the audio, its really hard for me to listen to the audio.

Thanks I'll have to check that out -- apologies, my setup is about as jank/casual as it gets. My microphone is rather low quality I'm afraid.

for this v3 model, the only thing i want different is the height of the mouse. The deathadder has always been a favorite of mine, but it was just to tall for me to use comfortably in fps games. I hope that it is lower profile.

its taller than the old one

deathadder alsway been a tall mouse for medium to big hands , if you dont want a tall mouse deathadder is a wrong choice mate.

For me/my hand size and grip the back hump/height is pretty much perfect, but I expect that would come down to hand size and grip preference. The new one is even taller apparently.

my thumb and index finger press up against the front left flare and that's sorta what i aim with r.i.p. flares I've been using the model d getting ready for this to come out

    You know what is crazy?
I have DeathAdder V2, and on my stream I told people what changes I would make on next DeathAdder. They actually made it as I imagine.
