Big thank you to Adam for allowing me to peel off some stickers! Always a treat. Still not sure about the Seiko Kinetic thing, at least not in this format anyway. Perhaps in a diver, but even then....... The premium square G on the other hand, much more my cup of tea! Cheers, Jody
GET OUT OF MY ROOM MOM I'M UNBOXING WATCHES
I wrote that before he said wife. F.
@@Cynical... it shows your age. I wish I could be a teenager again.
@ Alex-- I was drinking coffee when I read this, but I was EXTREMELY glad I didnt have a mouth-full @ the time! LOL!! 😂
Mom says, "You're going to grow hair on your palms!"
Got a Kinetic Pulsar (Seiko) field watch on a khaki canvas strap about 8 years ago. It's a superb time keeper and the charging rotar is very quiet, only hear it in a silent room. I can feel it rotate more than hear it.
Great channel Jody, keep the reviews coming.
Regards,
Sky.
I have owned a Seiko Kinetic Diver for 10 years now. Amazingly accurate, built like a tank, and never had the back off it. It is big, thick and heavy, but I am used to it. I never noticed any rotor noise.
I have to stop watching these videos, after seeing that G-Shock I had to go out and get one for myself. My first ever G-Shock, loving it so far and so easy to set using the phone app. Great video and review, keep up the great work.
My mom always says the same, "No more watches, enough of them!". Then, I have to say " Don't worry mom, I sold an older one and bought it" haha
I love my kinetic, love the rotor noise and it keeps time better than any other quartz in my collection! Like, within a second in a six week period. My movement is a 5m62a, and it sets smooth as butter. The movement you showed seems to be a bit jerky. BTW, if you do a Seiko shuffle you'll get a full 6 month power reserve and won't have to worry!
Love your patter... "That's how interesting my life is" 🤣
This Bluetooth function was the reason why I bought my Edifice EQB500.
It’s so easy to set the watch via the app and the watch connects itself once a day (later models do it up to 4times a day) to get the atomic timesetting.
Together with the solar module it’s the perfect grab and forget watch...
Sadly these Edifice are 45mm monsters, but there is help insight...
The new EQB1000 should be 40,5mm and only 9mm thick...
My favorite is the Casio Oceanus T200 which is a 3hander with all these functions and the app shows time and software updates and when they received as well as the charging of the watch...
Not cheap with ~500,-€, but really the best you can find in quarz technology.
I´m a SEIKO fan and own a nice "Kinetic Auto Relay", marvelous watch, love to revive it after several months of sleeping in the box....
Haha, hilarious intro! Love the RBR shirt too, max making moves this season 👊
He gotta work on his attitude tho
LMAO THAT INTRO WAS LEGENDARY
I'm impressed! That's a proper Traveller's GMT on a $300 USD Seiko! Wow!!!
I have a SUN043 Kinetic GMT Diver's and I love it, including the rotor sound. Everyone can agree nothing beats the accuracy of quartz. But moving your arms to charge your quartz battery maybe be not to everyone's liking.
Very good 2 reviews in one go. You actually featured 2 eco-friendly energy sources, solar and Kinetic! 🌞🚶
Just try to find a watch with an independent hour hand plus GMT you won't find anything near this price point. I have the white dial variant and just love it when I travel. When I get off the plane I just pulled to the 1st position and change the hour to match the new time zone. Been thinking about putting an Uncle Seiko bracelet on it. As far as kinetic it's a quirky movement and makes noise in itself is the charm. I also have the charger for the watch which makes it much simpler to use.
I have a new Seiko kinetic watch but don't find the winding noisy in normal use, only hear it if I wind it like you did.
Absorbing video - watching this on Saturday night. The G-shock solar-atomic is the ultimate “set and forget” watch.
Funny, but I love the reassuring whirr of my Seiko kinetic rotor - it has a feel of solidity about it (being a dynamo rather than a refined spring winding mechanism like you get with an auto ) and you can’t hear it whilst on the wrist. It’s superior tech to most battery quartz watches imo as long as you wear it to charge it up from time to time. This gmt version does seem rather thick though.
Lol!! That intro was hilarious! Sounds exactly like my wife!!
Very cool video and I love your sense of humor! I finally got my first Chinese special in the mail; one that I ordered under your advise. It's fantastic.
As a Kinetic owner, one of the early models, I take issue with the "no battery change required" claim -- because the capacitor/rechargeable battery they use will fail at some point (I speak from experience) and that WILL need replacing. Same with solar.
I loved the intro part of this video! I hope you are not in too much trouble with your wife:) I’m researching Casio right now, so the timing of this video is spot on. The Bluetooth model in the unboxing looks quite interesting. I’m going to go the Casio website and learn a bit more about this one. Thanks for sharing the unboxings. As always, nice job!.../ed
I have the diver, SKA371, and the rotor is meant to make that very small noise when winding like you did. In use on your arm you cannot hear it.
I really enjoy watching your videos. You are positive and funny and I like your voice. I am a CASIO nerd from Germany owning an AE 1200, a Data Bank and the rare G-8000 in orange. Many greetings and cheers from Germany!
Another nice feature in the new module is a dd.mm day month option for people who don’t live in the US
Have had that g shock for a couple months, love it
To make it more believable you should rename your channel into „Just no more watches“
I don't think she'd buy that mate!
@@JustOneMoreWatch just change your hoarding into collecting mopeds

@@JustOneMoreWatch "Just one more watch after selling another one (but not really I just hid it somewhere)" doesn't quite have the same ring to it unfortunately
Great vid . Not sure the seiko works . The gmt hand basically disappears on the dial . I like the gshock but cant stand the negative display. And yes you can get the bracelet on its own I'm thinking of getting one myself
Wow. That CLOCK. IS. COOL. ⚙
I have 2 kinetic seikos and it's not strictly true that you never have to change the battery eventually the little accumulator will become less efficient and will not hold charge. In this event the accumulator can be swapped for a lithium ion version at a cost of about £30 , had to have this done with one of mine. It dose not pay to let it discharge you really need to be wearing these watches daily. Great Vid. Darren.👍
Interesting module, the 5610's also have atomic time, but have 24 hr stopwatch and timers, which is good, but means the time isn't displayed in the top right when those are running like it is in 5600's. Those combi bracelets go for decent money on their own, so that's a good bonus.
I got the kinetic diver. Brilliant. But the bracelet can be the weak point.
Believe it or not, when I saw the title I thought commenting "Double unboxing? Does your wife know about it??". Haha, the intro was so hilarious!
😂😂 Very appropriate!
The Seiko/Pulsar Kinetic mechanism is fantastic. Requires a hell of a lot of rotation to power it up, I've measured the accuracy of a Kinetic and mine is clocking out at an average of +0.1 seconds/day measured over 3 months. Watch winder boxes don't work on kinetics, so get used to shaking one around every couple of days to keep it alive if it's not a daily. Worst drift it ever had was +5 seconds.
Yeah, kinetic! Finally! Kinetic all DAY! All day son! ALL DAY!😤☺ Have had my black dial stainless steel Seiko kinetic 200m diver 18 years. Never been serviced. Keeps perfect time. Wanna know something else? I enjoy that rotor sound when I move drastically enough to hear it😯
I tried one once. They're great as an everyday watch but don't work well as part of a collection in my experience. They require a lot of wrist time to keep the battery charged. Interesting technology for sure though.
@@storm3016 watch winder?
@@hirambodon7086 Won't work, they spin too slow to charge a Kinetic. Some people have made something out of an electric screwdriver to keep them charged and some of those induction chargers for electric toothbrushes and charges for electric tealights also work if you can line them up just so, but that was getting a bit too cumbersome for me personally.
@@storm3016 huh. Very interesting.
Love the G . That is nifty. That G is on my radar. Thanks Adam & Jody
every time you bring out those kittens I just crack up! Lol...awesome
Great reviews, I have that same movement in a Seiko World Time, and I like the noisier movement actually, but admit I don't wear it much as it is even bigger than that model. I put the leather strap from a Hamilton on it as the bracelet is usual low-end Seiko as you said. I think I paid around the same as that one for it, but am surprised to see they go for over 400 now on Amazon. Also, as others have pointed out, it is best to keep them charged so I manually shake mine every day to avoid letting the capacitor go completely dead. I like that it is a true GMT, you can adjust the hour hand and the running seconds and minutes are not affected.
I personally don’t like digital watches. But I did like the Seiko kinetic. Makes sense to me!
This episode was fun. And so was all the feedback.
I bought the SUN057 a year ago. The power reserve is kinda funny. You have to shake it a long time to get it to 6 months and a couple of days later it's down to the 1 month mark. So I would shake it for a couple of minutes several times a day and it would register 6 months for about a week. I guess if you jog your watch will hold a 6 month charge, but just everyday use will keep it at the one month mark. I've never had it get so rundown that the second hand only moved every two seconds even though I don't wear it that often. I've tried to find an after market bracelet for the g shock, I know they are out there but I can't find them. I'm not married so I think I'll just buy another G-Shock and while I'm at it I'll buy another gun too.
I have that 5600! I love the combi bracelet 👌 did you notice that the bracelet pins are little spring bars? Super easy to size 👍
That Seiko could've been a cool watch had it been a bit smaller (39-40 in diameter & 11-12 thickness). GMT definitely is one of the coolest and actually usable complications out there. Also, really like your channel!
Hi Jody. Loved the intro! I think you had the look on ur face that your Mum saw back when you were a young boy!?! So adorable. Your wife must have rolled her eyes as she walked away. The Seiko has a nice face but too complicated for no reason. I liked the Casio better but wouldn't buy either one. Nice video though. Thx
I just bought a Pagani design chronograph with the vk63 or 67 .. fantastic
That was a good "HELLO"!!
I own the Seiko Sun013. The rotor does nit bug me. Nice kob Jody! 🍺🍺🍺
Do you guys think the negative display is easy enough to read? Was keen on swapping to the bluetooth version of the tough solar square G-Shock (GWB5600-2D) for more precise time. Cheers,
Had that movement in an oversize field watch. Was indeed noisy but I didn't hate it. I did sell it though.
I have the SUN023 (tuna-ish) diver and it sounds the same, been faultless for 5 years though. You can't hear it in normal wear.
No. More watches.
I see what you did there, and I like your style.
Correct *punctuation!* makes all the difference...
His wife needs a channel titled "Just No More Watches."
Wife: did you here me?
Me: no! More watches I promise!
Wife: okay I'll remember you said that!
Me: yeah you do that!
Lol!
WORKS ON CONTINGENCY NO MONEY DOWN. Oh they got this all screwed up. WORKS ON CONTINGENCY? NO, MONEY DOWN!
Love the Casio, I have the silver GMWB5000, but... Oh, and I bought the Loreo, which is my current daily... Thanks again Jody
Jody, Re: the bluetooth feature on the Casio. Can you turn this feature off, or is it always on? I don't like the idea of introducing any more emf into my bedroom, so I keep bt turned off on my cellphone and my laptop. It is a great feature for a watch though, to be able to synchronize day, date, and time with a cellphone. I would just want to operate it manually, and for the bt to be turned off otherwise. Is this possible?
Loved the wife interaction at the start Jody, excellent stuff. My mate has a Kenetic Seiko and I never really got it either, mind you it’s much nicer than that one. Why so thick? Weird. The Casio does not really do it for me either, prefer our standard ‘stealth’ ones. Nice of him to let you peel the stickers though. 😁
Hey Jodie. Great video as always! That G-Shock is really sharp!
Congratulations on the Verstappen pole today 😉
I don’t think you can have too many Casios. There’s always room for another. I’ve had my eye on one of the square G Shock Bluetooth watches for a while now. Not sure about the negative display though. How hard is it to read?
I have that one, but not bluetooth, and it is true the display can be a bit difficult at times, but the auto-light feature is very good in lighting it up when not enough ambient light hits the watch dial as you turn it on your wrist to look at it. Only thing is it lights up for only 1.5 seconds which some ppl feel is not long enough, but fine for me
Steve the negative display is alot harder to read, they do look nice though especially if you get the DW5600BB like Jody has (looks stealthy) .
My personal opinion to anyone wanting to buy a GShock is have a look at the GW5000 if the budget allows it is definitely worth the extra cash (full steel case, screw down caseback, softer higher premium rubber strap is super comfortable and is also very stealthy just with a positive display).
TheUrbanMan thanks I’ll check that one out
That G is phenomenal! I have the dw 5600bb but this is like it's next gen!
Did you set it to 9PM or 6PM?
That GShock is Dope!... I've had my eye on the 5600bb for a while I didn't even know there was a BT model....then again it's a $120 dollar difference 🤔
In defence of the kinetic watch (& I did suggest a while back that you review one), I've never heard the rotor during normal wear. My arms are long enough to keep it away from my ears, so it's a non-issue. What I do like about it, compared to my mechanical watch, is that I stubby have to wear it every second day, I can leave it off for a week or a month or two & the time is right, the date is right (plus or minus months with less than 31 days). Its also nice & light - my sports choice when I go running. I will add though that although there's no battery, the capacitors are known not to last forever, especially if allowed to discharge completely. Don't know how that compares to solar watches.
Seiko is nice but Citizen eco-drive seems like a better "no battery change" option.
Strange about the Kinetic noise, my old Pepsi diver Kinetic is quiet as a mouse. If I wear it once or twice a week for a few hours it holds charge nicely.
Probably as a diver it has a heavier duty case, muffling the noise
I had a Seiko Kinetic as an everyday watch for several years - well made and practical, but I never really bonded with it. The movement uses a rechargeable capacitor instead of a battery. They do eventually fail (especially if the watch is left unused for months.) Pulsar use the same movements in some of their watches - but they are noticeably cheaper for not much difference in quality. I had a couple of these too. I've found that my new Omega Speedmaster is just as noisy as any of the Myota autos that I own BTW....... especially if you place it on a table with the rotor spinning.
Great video! I'm going to pull the trigger on the Full Metal G Shock with the resin band. The metal band on that one may be too blingy for me.
Does the g shock get message notifications? Or just alarm stuff?
My Kinetic has failed. I lost it in the house five years ago and on finding it last week have noted that the minute hand stops quite regularly and the watch doesn't like holding it's charge.
Had a Seiko Worldtimer with a very similar movement. A bit noisy indeed, but the main isssue is that the battery capacity weakens over time. After 2 years, quite difficult to accumulate more than 2/3 days of reserve even shaking the bloody thing vigorously.
My friend would tell his Wife all the new musical Instruments were borrowed from me and I would blackmail him with I'll ask for them back in front of her. Made my day with that intro ! 😇🤥🤓👹
I have the white faced SUN037, which seems much easier to read. The watch works perfectly. I thought that I finally bought a Seiko where everything was perfect, until I looked at it with 10X magnification. I found a very tiny hair stuck under one of the indices. Maybe the lesson is that if it looks perfect without magnification, leave well enough alone.
Love the Seiko power reserve function, I could see me see me obsessively fiddling with that, pity I don't like the watch.
50 Casios! I can understand Mrs. JOMW's concerns about watches in the house. I just hope you don't have my habit of leaving several of them all over the house, my missus finds that really annoying.
Only 15 mate, but still..... It's a problem!
Hey man! How do you make sure grey hair doesn't stick out? What do you use to avoid that?
Great shirt! Especially after Verstappen's win last week! 👍
Thanks for the great videos!
Ok jodi I have about 20 watches 17 being automatics. How many watches do you own total I think we all want to know I believe you have me beat lol love your Channel
I never have seen a kinetic Seiko watch before. I have seen the solar ones where it will last years and years before needing a battery and ticks like quartz, but I am not understanding how this one works. I have not seen that bracelet on a Gshock either. Casio has been a watch full of features as far back as I can remember.
I got the blacked out 5600 you got. And it's good enough. I wouldn't pay double to use an app
Seiko looks ready an the Casio with that Chunky Style Band!
Poor Bugger has to put Up with Two New Beauties till He scores a What?
Some Blokes have all the Luck.
Great Show, See You in the Next One.
Did you end up getting a different buckle for your G shock? I still want to replace mine but don’t know where to look
I bought the G-shock as my work beater. I absolutely love it.
Would love to see that Pelagos LHD on the channel one day 👌😍
I love the gmt clock on the wall. Please provide the brand? Thank you! Also, I really enjoy your content.
I have a Seiko Kinetic it is ok the lumes are not bad the movement of the second hand I find odd. I am not gone the new Casio anniversary editions could Jodie do a review of Nixon Digital watches?
I own the same g-shock. I recommend it.
you need to change battery on a toug solan, not just as often than a batterypowereg watch...
Good ol' GW B5600. I got the black one straight from Japan through EBay before they were released in the US. Heck of a watch.
Question: that Pepsi bezel clock you have on your wall: is it supposed to be Seiko or Rolex? Looks awesome.
It's a dealer Rolex clock I think. Not sure
I have the non-inverted version of the G-Shock; the one with the gaudy gold detail. I wanted the features of the watch with the classic square G-shock face but didn't want the inverted LCD, because I find them harder to read. I was initially put off by the gold but bought it anyway and have learned to love it. The band is super comfortable - I prefer it comfort wise over every other band I own, including natos, leather, stainless, Milanese, etc. I'm not sure what materials it uses for the band links, but it doesn't feel cheap and gives a feeling of durability after wearing it for a day or two. Being accurate all the time means that this is the timepiece I set my other watches to, since I can throw this on my wrist and adjust the other watch I'm going to wear without having to use my phone. It's the watch I leave out because apart from setting my other watches to it, I also wear it a fair amount and leaving it out also recharges it in the light. It's about about as "smart" as I want to go with a watch these days, making everything super convenient without being intrusive. Pretty much the perfect digital watch for me.
David, I also prefer the legibility of the standard LCD; but unlike you I don't care for the stock rubber/plastic strap on my GW-M5610. Everything else about it has grown on me. I still think it is a homely thing, but it grows on you like an ugly dog. I am also confident that no one is ever going to mug me for my g-shock. I can wear it anywhere without ever having to think about it.
The issue I have with the band, beyond it's cheap feel is that the tail on the strap juts out at an odd angle after the keeper. But, I have very small wrists. This would not be an issue for a man with a 7" or larger wrist.
I'm amazed one of the chinese manufacturers is not making the watch dail wall clocks like the one on your set. looks like a good place to use an homage as I'm pretty sure yours is an advertising piece. I would like to buy one for my lair. bet I not the only one.
JODY I think that would have been a good scene for the video. Kinda "Benny Hill"ish. You walking with arm's flailing. for 750 meters Played back in Fast Forward.
Have to agree with the concerns with the movement i've got a seiko kinetic that barely sees the light of day. Gold plated case and a gorgeous champagne dial but the rotor noise is really off putting for me. Only cost £30 from a pawn shop so not a massive regret but I dont think kinetic watches are for me
You can collect more watches to slow down the time you get divorced
gotta love those Casio's ....
No more watches… just one more watches 😂
A lot of Seiko Kinetics have lovely dials but I can't do it. I can do a good digital watch but the ticking of a quartz analog bugs me too much.
Brilliant shirt your sporting there. Go Max Go #33!
Good video again Jody - you have some great subscribers.
When will you be hosting some "giveaways" with all those watches you have?
When I hit 100k subs mate, ten watches in ten days!
Oh man, I have been strongly considering getting that Seiko kinetic GMT, but alas it is just too massive for my wrist...
Hey, I'm watching this in bed, 9:30 Saturday night.
Now that's pathetic.
P.S., I myself acquired a new Seiko 5 Sports, SRPC51K yesterday. The fat hour hand is awesome. :)
Hahha! That made me laugh Dennis.
@@JustOneMoreWatch We can't all be winners. :D
So did you watch the race ??
Yes mate! A good one. Shame RB didn't react to Merc's stop, but a tactical masterstroke from Toto etc, so Hammo deserved it.
Wouldn't this Seiko be the other side of the original Hamilton Ventura from 1957? That watch had a mechanical movement that was powered by a battery rather than a mainspring.
I find Casio's negative displays too hard to read. I do own a GA-100 ana-digi though that I use for a beater and it is great. Although it has two small negative displays that are not easy to read it also has white hands which make it easy to read even in low light which is exactly what I require.
I showed my wife this intro, and she laughed, and also said “that is a cool wall clock”. So... where could I pick me up one of those GMT Master wall clocks?
Mate! Mine was a gift, but plenty on google. Cheers.
I've considered the SUN* a few times myself - there is also a white dial version which is very fetching that to me is like a poor mans (or sensible mans depending how you think) explorer 2
