You know I totally agree. I have the 33 and 35 which I absolutely love and wear more often that my Omega’s which are 10 times more expensive. I have even considered shipping on a couple of Omega such is their lack of wrist time
Totally agree, l have the 035, perfect size. I’m considering to buy the 033. I also have other Seiko but get a lot wrist time. I promise to myself I will never buy Seiko when it’s over 40mm, no matter how beautiful the dial or movement.
the point is that even at current high prices it's still one of the best quality/cost ratios you can have on the market. At the original price it was just too good to be true. Problem of the sarb is that pictures doesn't make it justice, the size on paper is too small (but it wears so beautifully, as you shown on video) and the finishing of the hands doesn't really shine on pics or videos... it's something you need to see on your wrists and it just grows on you. Awesome watch, glad to hear you changed your mind about it
@@MrWrightNowTV I bought mine in March 2018 shortly after the "discontinuation" for £260 so around €300. I got it new from Ebay. They now sell for around £365 and there's still plenty available.
How is 38mm "too small"? It's not a diver... it leans on the side of being a dress watch but can be daily wearer too. The size is perfect for what the watch it is built to be; if it came in 36 I would already own it frankly.
@@mikec3454 couldn't agree with you any more! I have owned and loved the 033/035 for around 5 years and would prefer slightly smaller case size (and better bracelet). This was a big factor in helping me recently choose a new 36mm datejust as my first "luxury" watch.
I went through a similar. thought process when I got my SARB033. Wasn't that crazy about it initially for many of the issues you raised. However, the more I wear it, the more I love it. Thought about selling it at first, but now I wear it all the time, and get that happy feeling whenever it's on my wrist. Great review and thanks for the transparency.
I bought this watch right when they announced it was being discontinued so I got it at a good price. I was worried that it would be too small for my 7.25 wrist. At first it looked too small and I forced myself to wear it. It grew on me and now I love it. It’s not my everyday wear, but certainly gets some wrist time.
A lot of people say that. It looks ordinary on camera so what is the charm? Is it the finishing, the great size or a combination of things? I'm thinking of getting one...
Thanks Jodie, bought one of these for my wife 3 yrs ago. It is a great watch that scratches the itch if a Rolex Explorer is out of reach. Good lesson to learn that you should always buy your spouse a watch you can borrow!
I like the date only window without the day. For some reason the typical Seiko with the day/date window usually with a frame around it looks too much in my eyes. The date only especially with the background at the same color as the dial is the way to go for me.
A buddy shown me his 035 last week, as I was in the process of buying a swiss diver. The diver went back to the land of forgotten dreams, and a 035 from ebay is on its way...
Great to see you won the battle against your natural scots instincts and refreshingly honest of you to hold your hand up, you are correct this is so much more than the sum of it's parts! I love mine so much I am giving serious thought to picking up a second. Thanks so much for the review, always a pleasure.
Kerem Alp, I’ve been wearing my 035 for about 4 years, every day. The dial is gorgeous. Pictures do NOT do it justice. Looks great with anything I wear.
Great video, Jody. I own the SARB 033 & 035 and love them. They are pure class and exceptionally well built. Glad you made this video. A lot of people will find it an important review. The Urban Gentry (TGV) is also high on the SARB 035, whose review caused me to make my purchases back when they were around $300 each. I think the bracelet is fine, solid end links and machined clasp. Great content, keep it coming.
Agreed! I was thinking about the Smiths Everest PRS-25 as an alternative to the Explorer I I can't afford, but as a Seiko man, I think the SARB033 might just be the ticket.
I’m glad you’re enjoying your SARB. Recently I discovered, through a different watch, that 38mm looks small-ish in my 17.1cm wrist. That makes me feel OK about not getting the SARB
I also was late joining the Sarb033 train and when I got the watch, I was actually a little bit underwhelmed and also worried about the small size, but it has grown so much on me. Its charme is in its modesty and classic, timeless style. It just always looks good and wears very comfortable too.
Love that I got my SARB033 for myself as a graduation gift before they announced it's discontinued. I've got it on a honey brown leather strap and it's absolutely perfect. Sporty and classy all at the same time.
I am absolutely in love with my SARB033 after almost a month. Everyone considering one should know that the dial isn't really "black" it's more like "coffee black". In direct sunlight you get some brown out of it! It's very fun and I have zero regrets spending more than MSRP for it. I can co-sign on it being extremely comfortable. I totally forget it's there. It's WAY more comfortable than my Sinn 104 and my Casios. If you're taking video suggestions, I think you should compare the 033 with a Nodus Contrail 39 or a Certina DS-1. Those are the closest watches I've ever seen to be a similar size, price range, movement quality, and bracelet quality and I'd love to see how they stack up in person.
Great video per usual, Jodie. I bought one about 6 months ago and after initially being underwhelmed, I‘ve grown to absolutely love it. Oh, and you’re right, it’s very comfortable on wrist. 👍🏼
I am not presently in the watch buying market, (unemployed), BUT I do love my JDMs, notably the SARB017, which I absolutely adore. BUT I also have an SRPD15K1, which has 'that certain magic", I cannot take it off. Oh, and I have an SSA231K1. Sigh. So many Seikos, so little money. Och, and I have some Scots blood, so...
Ahhhh Jody, the wee bit of Scot in me (20% Campbell) is wincing at the $400+ price on this when it's more than correct price for it's features is the original $320. BUT, the overwhelming Irishman in me knows that the heart wants what the heart wants and ne'er shall be denied. It's a handsome watch with all of the great features we seek regularly and I'm glad you have it now. Great re-review and a happy ending.
Dammit Jody. Bought a SARB033 at the beginning of lockdown (2020). Wore it as a daily, eventually sold it to fund a "grail" (which I bought, sold, bought, sold and finally bought again) and now after months of regret....a preowed SARB is on the way. Such a charmer, and honestly one of the greats.
Thats what you get if everybody starts running after this “TGV” fellow of the Urban Gentry fellow. Without his favorable remarks, this watch would have gone down the drain without anybody noticing it. An honestly ... it is just a basic watch and have no clue why everybody wants one all of a sudden.
It's growing on me, think I was wrong too. Used to think it looked like a watch worn by 'Colin from accounts' - solid but ultimately dull but actually it looks really good on the wrist. Almost tempted...
jacc88888 - I've been tossing up on this for MONTHS. Have wondered why I haven't jumped right in. But you've summed it up ... it is definitely one for Col. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I've always said 'when in doubt, don't'. Especially after a price hike. I'll be opting for a Hamilton Khaki King. Great review as always btw.
@@felixunger3408 Although lots of owners love them (inc Mr JOMW😉) so maybe there's a magic about them that a camera can't pick up. I must say the Khaki King would tick quite a few boxes for me as well. Enjoy!
jacc88888 - yes, I suspect you're right. I'm still tempted by the cream dial but just can't 'pull the trigger'. I think the ubiquity of the Seiko aesthetic is part of the issue for me. They're solid timepieces to be sure but sometimes look so commonplace as to flatline aesthetically. Though I've only ever seen a SARB on the screen. I'm sure if someone gave me one I'd be delighted but it would be too much of a stretch to buy one in $AU at current prices. Having said that I'll probably regret not buying one.😆
@@felixunger3408 It's hard when you can't see one in person to see what it's really like. If you prefer the look of the Khaki King maybe go for that (but always good to try it on in a store first if you haven't already of course) . I guess the 033 and 035s might keep their value or even go up over time so could be worse watches to invest in.
@@jacc88888 I have a modest collection including sarb033, 035 and sarx033(white dial + blue hands). Both sarbs get a lot more wrist time than the sarx, which should have been an upgrade. Since there's no AR coating camera doesn't do these watches any justice. Both these watches are really really well proportioned and feel just right. Bracelet is a let down, but both are strap monsters
I can't speak about the comparison as I've never owned any of the SARX line but I have owned four different vintage Datejusts and I have to say, for me - The SARB033 is every bit as good as any of them. Stupidly I sold mine :(
I pulled the trigger last week and am so glad that I did. The Sarb033 is an absolute stunner. I just had it sized this morning and cannot stop looking at my wrist. Wow. I just learned about the Sarb line about a month and a half ago (only good thing about Sheltering in Place). Even this it has been discontinued for 2 years, I still wasn't immediately convinced that I should buy one. Bur after watching many video reviews--particularly this one--I decided to click all the way through in Amazon. I am so glad that I did. This is my new Every Day Watch. I love it.
Because of this watch, and my preference for quartz, I got a Seiko SUR319P1. 36mm, quartz, sapphire crystal. It looks very similair to the sarb. Absolutely beautiful, and always ready to go.
Hello Jody, great revue as usual. After your "Should you Buy a Seiko SARB 033/035" video I took the plunge on a 033 sold as pre-owned on fleebay, but in reality a factory refurb. The seller had quite a few. The watch came as new, with a minuscule scratch on the first link after the endlink, a clear sign of transport wear, for $350 US. Indeed, all your revue points are spot on. The X factror of this watch is the case design. It reminds me from it's side, of a Japanese warriors helmet, making it uniquely Japanese. The 033 replaced on my wrist, watches costing 30X more. Won't name names... If your are looking for an even more comfortable Seiko, try finding a 2011/12 model year SSA001/003/007/008 which while a 44mm case, it sits more comfortably on my 7.25" wrist. You might think this reference is unobtainium, but look for SSA192K1 (maybe you can revue it someday), a recent Limited Edition Re-release...Only Seiko does things this way. Regards!
It sounds like this Seiko movement has qc problems if there are factory refurbs out there. Are refurbs originally bought back from customers that got lemons?
@@bertkanne4572 The Seiko 6R15 indeed has QC issues, mostly lubrication (see Spencer Klein explanation) my particular unit is running @+5 sec/day with 280^ amplitude. My use of the term "refurb" was erroneous as the case was not opened. Maybe the better term to use is "cosmetic blemish". This kind of blemish is not uncommon (see "The Slender Wrist" revue of the SARB). Regards.
I just got an 035 from Amazon for just over $400 and consider myself truly fortunate. That cream dial has a gorgeous but subtle sunburst. In low light it almost makes the hands and markers look light-yellow gold.
The SARB033&035 still available at US $350-$400. Classic design, sapphire crystal, 6r15 movement, and signed crown. Their supposed replacements, the SZSB range, out March 26, 2020 have the inferior 4r36 movement, Hardlex crystal and unsigned crown are available for pre-order at Amazon Japan for around $400 (rrp$500). What this means is that a comparable standard to the sarb line Seiko watch will now cost you virtually twice the price (see new models of the sarb17). The bottom line: grab one of the Sarb033 or 035 models now while they are still easy to get at around $400.
I sat here watching your review while looking at my SARB035 that is on my wrist. I agree. The most comfortable watch I've ever worn. Absolutely love it!!!!!
I love my SARB033, but I also agree with your observations regarding the bracelet. That's why I've dressed mine up on a few leather straps, that I switch out to match what I'm wearing. But whether you're wearing it on a bracelet (dressy sports watch) or a strap (sporty dress watch), this piece never fails to impress.
Love the T-shirt lol. I sold my Seiko SARB033 in order to help fund my omega Speedmaster, but man do I miss that piece 😞. Hope you had fun on your vacation!
Market expansion initiative; GS does battle on the Rolex level, Seiko moves up to one step below, in Omega's neighbourhood, and Orient covers the gap left by Seiko. Not sure where Credor is going but rest assured there is a long term plan there too. It probably helps Seiko if the connection is not made. The question is, have the Seiko brands had enough time and have they earned enough popular appreciation to move into these slots? Time will tell, unless of course, the pandemic wipes us all out...
Of all the watches seiko discontinued I regret not getting a SARG011 ... they really haven’t replaced it with anything worthwhile. The SARB has a few in the line that are similar SARX and SARY
I came late too to buy a Seiko SARB033. In the beginning of the year I pulled the trigger on ebay and I bought one from Japan. After a month I had a bad surprise from customs in Brazil and they charged 60% in taxes. The final price for me was around U$770 (U$481original price). It was much higher price than the original but it worth for me. There is no regret even paying a lot of taxes in Brazil. This watch is amazing piece of horology. And there is a lot of these watches in the japanese market. It is not too late. Go ahead!
What do you get when you make a SARB033 with a only 10mm thick titanium case plus bracelet, AR coated sapphire crystal, perpetual calendar, tough solar multiband 6? The Casio Oceanus OCW-S100.
Bought my Sarb033 from Chrono24. Factory bracelet was way to small (8in. wrist) not sure if the previous owner removed a link or two or that was just how they were, but ended up using a leather strap for a while and eventually getting a bracelet from Uncle Seiko. It's a bit small for my wrist size but I still love it, I'm not sure what it is about it, perhaps the comfort like you mentioned. I'll keep this piece forever, definitely one of my favorites
Took you long enough! All those polite sceptical smiles and nods as I tried to convince you all those years ago but you FINALLY come ‘round! Hallelujah. 🤣😂
I was having a hard time understanding your words and I opened the subtitles and to my surprise the subtitles are having a hard time understanding as well. LOL!!!
That gap on the bracelet is a big part of what made me sell mine. The head of the watch is very nice, but I thought the bracelet was a bit of a letdown (also not enough microadjustments and would occasionally pull hairs). Right after I sold it Strapcode came out with their line of bracelets for it
I bought a pre-owned SARB035 (cream dial) in the early days of watching reviews on You Tube. J. Anthony was raving about it, I picked up mine from eBay (said I was a bit green), then his broke! At first I was disappointed as I don’t normally wear anything as small as a 38. However now I love it and wear it as an evening dress piece on holiday and in rotation. True though Jody it is very comfy and it sure does have the X factor too.
I bought the predecessor in 2006, the SVSC003, when the 6R15A movement was newly released. Nearly identical but for slightly different lower dial text and lume on the outside of the hour markers. She lives on a NATO 2 ring strap (I did not like the original bracelet) and it's been fantastic. Seiko movement service at year 10 when she started to run slow (dry lubrication) but it's always been reliable, durable and accurate. Now at age 13 with 3 years since movement was serviced. Gains 2-3 secs on wrist per day, crown down overnight returns it to -1 or -2. In other words, COSC accurate, always within +3 / -3 for months on end. The quick date advance stopped working a year ago but it still turns the date over faithfully when ticking. My favorite wrist companion, even more than my Rolexes. 55 hour power reserve, accuracy decays after 50 hours of sitting still before stopping.
Had the SARB033, still have the SARB035 - or now it's my wife's. I still think the creme dial punches more above it's weight than the 033. Wear yours in good health! Cheers
I bought a SARB033 last year (February) after much deliberation between it and the SARB035. Loved the black dial in pictures but never did in person. The lack of AR coating was really bad with a black dial and I found the polished hands and markers disappeared on the dial sometimes. Also didn’t like the look of the white lumed dauphine hands. Ended up selling it in August and bought the SARB035 this past November. Much happier with the 035. The lack of AR is no where as much of an issue against the cream dial. The visibility of the markers are better and the lumed portion of the hands almost makes them look skeletonized against the cream dial. The overall legibility of the watch is greatly improved. My only complaints are I wish the dial was more white than cream and that the date wheel matched the dial. But I still prefer the SARB035 over the 033. Fantastic piece even at $500.
Mine is on the safe place with full papers, warranty , JEN price, import documents in original box and without a scratch. more than doubled in price in few years. I also have some other seiko JDM jewels.
i couldn't un-see the ugle bracelet after your previous video. But mine is growing on me, it fits the same category of watch as rolex explorer and tudor bb, i dislike the numerals on the rolex which break its symmetry and the bracelet of the tudor. I concluded SARB033 is my favourite since i'll find faults with its alternative anyway and this will save me thousands of dollars.
It's really nice little watch. I just received mine and can't stop looking at it. There is replacement coming end of March..Still limited information but 4R movement and no sapphire..
I'm trying to decide between this and the cream dial 035 myself. I think the 035 dresses up nicer on a brown leather strap but the 033 looks great on a bracelet so I can see why you prefer it!
I went to find one of these. The black dial is a tad hard to find; white more common. I ended up getting distracted and bought a SARX055 "frosty" from a Japanese seller. I hope I don't regret it because man this is a beauty. I have a black shell cordovan strap awaiting the 055's arrival - should subdue the white/silvery dial. Peace.
Brother, I was lucky enough to buy the line a year before it went south! I’ve got the SARB017, 33, 35 & the 65! Glad I got them before they went crazy 😜 Do not like the busy Presage line on the same 6R15 movement in my humble opinion which cost hundreds more. Nice time piece brother!
Got the sary057 instead. The sarb had been on my «to get list» quite some time, but I realized what matters more is that the sary actually fits my style (slightly less dressy/more sporty) and wrist size (Ø41mm) better.
Hi jody al here from sheffield Eng. Ive got the 035 and its going nowhere , i love it , except that is the bracelet and the awful two hole adjustment. I love my bracelets but like them tight , unfortunately with mine i either cant close it or it slips over my wrist knuckle which is no good for me. Ive even thought about getting out my dremel and drilling a new hole but unfortunately theres not enough room to do so. I currently have it on a chris ward blue leather strap and it does look very good but i do keep going back to the bracelet to try and find a work around to tighten it slightly. Any ideas. Cheers jode. Alsheff

Just pulled the trigger on this one for 409€! I just couldn't find a watch close to this. Now the waiting time begins... My three watch collection is complete for now: SARB033, SSA346J1 and SPB053J1.
It now costs more than 1300 USD new on Chrono24. So I recently decided to go for Hamilton Khaki Field Auto 38 mm instead. Similar if not better specs, but more than twice cheaper.
Just One More Watch I wish I did. Your only other option is leather. Agreed about the Angus, it’s just too, as you said, beefy, for my taste. Seems to fight against the design of the watch. I think you’ll like the polished center link Oyster because it really seems to integrate aesthetically much better with the case. The only thing I don’t like about it is that the clasp is like wearing a pack of chewing gum on your wrist so I just swapped it out for the basic Taikonaut (aka Strapcode) 18mm clasp with the three microadjust holes. Much slimmer profile. Found it on eBay, bought two of them for $28. Part number is CLASP18-003B. You can order one direct from Strapcode too.
A great looking watch ...always wanted one ...actually ordered one ...turns out it was a fake ad ... simple but elegant ... wish i had one ... even though it is a little small

Hey Jody, look closer - that dial isn't black. I have never wore a watch for more than a month straight since watch collecting became my hobby. This was the only one. Amazing watch. Never gets old. Great review!
I have a Seiko that is not as nice as that but similar, 38 mm automatic. Great size for my 7-inch wrist. But the problem is the same with that, it only has two micro adjustments and if I take out a link it is too small and when I put it back in it is big. Sad it does not have enough micro adjustments. The clasp looks the same. I might sell it, or I could get swap the bracelet. Many seikos have lack of micro adjustments.
At some point in the past. Seiko made big alarm clocks I have one. It also has fantastic lume when you turn out the lights. Sort of like those big old Westclox. With a big old snooze button on the top.
That dial is an inky black pool of oil that will flash a deep dark violet in certain conditions. Do a black mirror polish on the shiney parts and it is magic.
There is certainly nothing wrong in changing out opinion over time. It’s much better to want to purchase one at a later date, than it is to want to dump a watch after a few months of wearing the timepiece. Furthermore, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts/impressions on the Seiko SARB so we can perhaps reevaluate on our own. Another fine video which I enjoyed watching with a cup of coffee...Ed
i've had my sarb033 for coming on a year now and its my daily wear. unfortunately it is running around -45s a day but it still gets the job done. in certain lighting my black dial turns into a deep brown sunburst. also strapcode dont make the super jubilee for it unfortunately, they opted for the larger angus jubilee. i have mine on the skx013 jubilee with the sarb033 endlinks and despite missing a small center link at the integration point, the jubilee really suits it and makes it a comfortable wear. brings out its datejustness. and the side of the case is supposed to represent mt fuji.
Beautiful watch I have a seiko 5 that looks amazingly similar had it three years and not acumulated as many scratches on it as you have in a month Jody what do you do with your watches haha. Great Video. Darren.
I love my SARB033. I am also considering the Strapcode Super Jubilee, but think it looks a bit thick... Would be very interested to see a video review. Currently, I have a stock SKX 22mm Jubilee hacked on and prefer it to the stock, despite being a bit of a shoddy modification.
A lot of people get this instead of the Rolex datejust due to budget constraints. To me, it is excellent value. There are other channels out there that do comparisons between the SARB and the Rolex and even one that compares the Rolex to a Seiko 5. It blows you away when they do the macro shots and you can see even on the Seiko 5 that the level of finishing is really and I mean really comparable to the Rolex. Especially on the lugs, even the Seiko 5 looks better. Wish I could remember the name of the channel that does the Seiko 5 vs. the Rolex.

Lovely watch. I’ve been thinking about one as a alternative to a Rolex explorer I won’t be able to afford
Do it Steven, I've been looking at mine in exactly the same way all week. Like an Explorer 1 for 5% of the outlay.
It’s better than the Rolex because you don’t feel the need to baby this watch
I agree. Classic looks. Decent specs. Decent prices on eBay.
Just seen mine in a new light a poor mans explorer, loving that one 😁
Get the SARY. It's 42mm.
17cm is still women wrist . I have to say that
Still a bargain at the price you paid, Jodie. It is destined to become a classic. Thanks for the update!
It looks gorgeous. I dunno, it's classy if that's a thing. Looks solid and understated.
This is the best watch of my small and humble collection, personally I love the brown sunburst of the dial when the lights is hits the right angle.
Little John Looks best on leather, by far!
Jody the 033 is my go to daily beater and wears with my suits for work, I still treat it like my expensive pieces. Absolutely love it
I sold my sa r b 035..what was I thinking?!
Ron Richter why did u sell it ! It’s already cheap not expensive
@@khalitooi wanted to fund a KS vintage. Made a small profit out of it however. Silly but in hindsight.
Fool!
Never sell a watch when you're high bro.
I made the same mistake...then I bought another one!!! I will never sell that watch again 🤦♂️
Seiko prices inflated?! No, that can't be true!!
@tiestu just because you know Democrats rig elections doesn't mean you support Trump. Personally I find Democrats and Republicans equally pig headed.
@Timothy Mckee you sir are a complete dipshit
As you can see I am standing in front of what appears to be a shit storm going on in the comments section.
Only TDS losers equate Trump winning with Russia's help. Just sayin'.
@tiestu i thought that man get an impeachment ?
They're going for $600 new now, wish I had bought one earlier.
Super expensive to buy one in the UK now!
Glad I bought one last year for $300 before the price skyrocketed because sheesh...
I have mine in the mail from Japan & I can't wait to get my hands on it. I am going to be such a proud first time Seiko owner.
Seiko: discontinues the SARB line.
Starts releasing 'limited edition' Alpinists at inflated prices.
How do you spell 'cash grab' in Japanese?
1701spacecadet Cash Glab! 😂
@@Bobsbargainbasement well played, good sir!
cash grab in Japanese may be bottakuri ぼったくり.
kashu gurabu :)
Thats what you get if everybody starts running after this “TGV” fellow of the Urban Gentry fellow. Without his favorable remarks, this watch would have gone down the drain without anybody noticing it. An honestly ... it is just a basic watch and have no clue why everybody wants one all of a sudden.
I have both the 033 & 035 models. Got to say I love the 035 more. I only wish neither of these had that date window.
I just received my SARB033 which was pre-owned. Love it to death!!!!!!!
Stupidly I sold mine :(
I just recently purchased a SARB033 for $250. Used but it is in like new condition. Good deal?
Where? You scored. Big time.
As always, an outstanding review by the ever affable Aussie Scotsman!
I have you to thank for my proliferating watch collection!
I’m so glad I picked one of these up a few years ago after watching several RUclipsrs rave about it.👍
Hello Jody, great revue as usual.
Jody if you switch the saffire with a domed AR do you loose the water resistance?
6r15, the hairspring can fall out of the secondary stud. Not a big problem but any problem with a hairspring can get bad quick since it's so delicate.
Love the T-shirt lol. I sold my Seiko SARB033 in order to help fund my omega Speedmaster, but man do I miss that piece 😞. Hope you had fun on your vacation!
Seiko is moving everything into a different sub brands like Prospex, Presage, Grand Seiko ect. Also seem obsessed with limited editions....
Go ahead!
I bought it last year and only cost me £240.00. I still loving it. Mine still look like brand new, no scratch at all.
"Inner Scottsman" 😂 hahahahha every Scott I've ever met has been so tight 😂
Took you long enough! All those polite sceptical smiles and nods as I tried to convince you all those years ago but you FINALLY come ‘round! Hallelujah. 🤣😂
I was having a hard time understanding your words and I opened the subtitles and to my surprise the subtitles are having a hard time understanding as well. LOL!!!
That gap on the bracelet is a big part of what made me sell mine. The head of the watch is very nice, but I thought the bracelet was a bit of a letdown (also not enough microadjustments and would occasionally pull hairs). Right after I sold it Strapcode came out with their line of bracelets for it
I just got my first automatic watch a seiko snk807 yesterday
Ben B. Gateway Seiko, hold onto your wallet. Nice one.
Congrats
Scott Lauren bruh it was a year ago
I have an 035. Beautiful little thing. I prefer wearing it on a leather strap.
Oh no😂 He said super JUBILEE ! Wait for the letter from Rolex 😂
Came back to watch this, decided to pick up a 035. I probably got hosed on the price, but I don't mind, cuz it's a legend.
i couldn't un-see the ugle bracelet after your previous video.
Jason, you are indeed complicated, but you make sense. Cheers.
if only they can make it in 36mm, and a nicer bracelet... i will pay double the price
It's really nice little watch. I just received mine and can't stop looking at it.
There is replacement coming end of March..Still limited information but 4R movement and no sapphire..
You did the right thing, Jody. It is a very classy watch. It would look out of this world on a grey leather strap.

Get the Strapcode Oyster with the polished center links. It seems like the bracelet that Seiko should have made.
I would prefer a jubilee, but the Angus looks too beefy for me. 😉 Know of any others mate?
I don't understand why Strapcode doesn't sell their bracelets with the three micro adjustments clasp anymore. The vclasp looks stupid one the Sarb

It's kinda fun that Seiko, once known for being very good value propositions, are now known for being inflated-price watches (at least all the interesting pieces...). What a turn-around.
Orient divers and Hamilton field watches offer better value. As you said the ones that are good get their price inflated.

Hey Jody, look closer - that dial isn't black.
I have never wore a watch for more than a month straight since watch collecting became my hobby. This was the only one. Amazing watch. Never gets old. Great review!
tofumaru Same here!
Was thoroughly pissed that Seiko discontinued the Sarb 17/33/35 last year
I have a Seiko that is not as nice as that but similar, 38 mm automatic.
Muy buena la remera! Cheers from Argentina
Hello Jody how can I protect the Glas of my watch
That dial is an inky black pool of oil that will flash a deep dark violet in certain conditions. Do a black mirror polish on the shiney parts and it is magic.
There is certainly nothing wrong in changing out opinion over time. It’s much better to want to purchase one at a later date, than it is to want to dump a watch after a few months of wearing the timepiece. Furthermore, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts/impressions on the Seiko SARB so we can perhaps reevaluate on our own. Another fine video which I enjoyed watching with a cup of coffee...Ed
‘A touch of magic’ that sums up what I think when I see them.... and I don’t have a lot of black dial watches.
i've had my sarb033 for coming on a year now and its my daily wear. unfortunately it is running around -45s a day but it still gets the job done. in certain lighting my black dial turns into a deep brown sunburst. also strapcode dont make the super jubilee for it unfortunately, they opted for the larger angus jubilee. i have mine on the skx013 jubilee with the sarb033 endlinks and despite missing a small center link at the integration point, the jubilee really suits it and makes it a comfortable wear. brings out its datejustness. and the side of the case is supposed to represent mt fuji.
Beautiful watch I have a seiko 5 that looks amazingly similar had it three years and not acumulated as many scratches on it as you have in a month Jody what do you do with your watches haha. Great Video. Darren.
Thanks Jodi. Nice review
Wish I could remember the name of the channel that does the Seiko 5 vs. the Rolex.
