    8:17 Sorry, correction, you do get your AP at the END of your turn. That way you always have 4 AP for reactions and don’t have to “save” them

    The "roll high for more damage" also incentives using 1 AP (out of your 4) to give an ally one help die, (D8) to increase their chance of scoring a heavy or brutal hit. Or using 1 AP to give yourself advantage on your attack, increasing the odds of rolling well.

    I liked your group dynamic. I would suggest Ranger or Bard. Both are extremely different in DC20 from their DnD counterpart. Ranger is a pure martial, no spell casting in the base class with a favored terrain feature that isn't terrible. Bard leans heavily into support with the help action and other class features, which would highlight how the help action is actually useful compared to how it works in DnD.
    I look forward to seeing more of your videos.

    • @Bardicaggravation
      @Bardicaggravation  2 месяца назад +3

      Appreciate the feedback. Bard is one of my two favorite classes in 5E, and it's my only complaint in DC20. I don't like that it's almost forced into a support role. So, we will be doing a bard comparison, maybe next. Also, I'm playing a bard in DC20 play test to see what the actual constraints are and we're filming that, too.

    • @AnArmyOfBunnies
      @AnArmyOfBunnies 2 месяца назад +2

      @@Bardicaggravation It does have a heavy lean towards support, but if you want to branch into damage there are multiple ways to do so. Even at level 1 you get a couple of spell choices that are not hindered by school like the rest of your choices. And once you start taking talents you can go even further into support or start going martial / damage caster. Part of that is just the flexibility of the talent system.

    • @Bardicaggravation
      @Bardicaggravation  2 месяца назад +1

      @@AnArmyOfBunnies Oh yes, that's what I love most about this system. In the playtest, I'm going to take the martial path at level 2 and see how that plays out for the bard. The other option (when it becomes available) is to see if I can make a College of Swords Bard out of the Spellblade class.

    Hey guys, great content your're making, i'm looking forward for more videos of yours.
    I'm glad to hear you taking about dc20 and liking it because for quite some time i'm putting together a bunch of rules from dnd5e and pathfinder2e and than i found out about dc20 and it turned out to be preeeetty close to what i've been imagining as a cool, complete game to my taste with enough crunch for it to make some sense and martials that actualy compare to casters. Someday after you finish comparing the classes of these two systems if you are interested i can send you a pdf with the rules tweaks, changes, addons an what not for you to take a look.
    And than again, i really like this channel i hope i gets the attention it deserves.

    D&D always had the problem since 3th edition that characters only really came online and felt capable at Level 3-4. and then you played till maybe level 12, and then you're done.
    early levels were often stingy with features, and nobody played endgame cause the difficulty and scaling fell apart.
    DC20 has classes fully playable at level 1 and max level is 10. then you can prestige with feats and take new features from multiclassing or options you didn't take earlier.

      Funny you should ask. We've actually filmed the Rogue video several times. But it was one of our first videos and didn't turn out as good as we knew it could be. • @Bardicaggravation

      That's a fair point and we did weigh that. We figured that the best way to hook new players into DC20 was through class comparison and show how much more fun each class is in the new system. Even in its Beta iteration.
      Our other vid series (that drops on Monday) is all about teaching improv exercises for role-players. Would love to get your feedback on that after you watch it. If that sort of thing interests you.
