Ok, I was a little on the fence before mostly because of the analysis paralysis of just having the options be so open ended. This video got me thinking of build ideas and makes it feel much simpler
@@damianflaga5092 I don't know.much about platypi, but some quick research suggests the following. Swim speed, natural weapons( beak and claw), venomous natural weapon. Apparently they can use electrolocation underwater, I see no reason the humanoids version couldn't have some variation of echolocation.
I kind of wish Angelborn got different damage types like Fiendborn. Considering the two are counterparts it would be cool. I get why it’s just radiant but I think other damage types work too. Specifically the mystical damage types outside of umbral, being psychic, sonic, and radiant. Then Lightning and Fire would both work for the righteous fury of the gods. Holy lightning and sacred flame and all that.
You know what - that's another great point, reckroom. I'm gonna let our GM and our Angel born player in on this comment and see if they want to home brew that in.
I am working on a Beastborn/Giantborn based on the pokemon Blastoise. (1) Water Breathing (1) Swim Speed (1) Thick-Skinned (1) Hard Shell (1) Natural Weapons (1) Natural Projectile (0) Unyielding Movement (Giantborn) (-1) Heavy Riser (Giantborn)
@@Bardicaggravation Barbarian if I want to lean more into doing physical damage or an ice themed Wizard if I want to be more of a ranged blaster. I usually try to fill in any missing gaps for what my play group needs.
We love it! It means you're not just stuck with half elf and half orc. I see people having a lot of fun with that. Making Half dwarf/half Giantborn. Half Angel born/half Fiend born, etc.

It's a breeze once you learn it quickly.
Plus if you don't want to make those choices, all the ancestries besides beastborn have default lis though can take and not think about it
@@claudio_wild Good point. We probably should have mentioned that in the vid.
i love how versatile the system is
That's the main reason we decided to dedicate our channel to this game instead of the others.
That intro was certainly something.
Also, First
Thank you for breaking the ice.
On my way to create a platypus beastborn
For real!
I know it might be a big ask from an internet rando but I’d love to see the traits you end up using to make this.

@@TheLunarPierce Very cool, I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Sounds like it would be a solid jumping off point. 👍
DC20 is just an awesome system. Another great video guys.
Thank you, sir. So happy to hear that other people love this system as much as we do.
They’re so unhinged. Love it
Unhinged...that's a perfect description!
Great stuff. You guys are always entertaining. 😊👍
I read through this section of the beta last week. Very timely video. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much. We really appreciate all you guys boosting our new little channel.
I can see iron stomach being on the beastborn list just from the sheer number of detritivores

@@rekcroom I will definitely let you know.
I'm always scouting for your videos when they come out... lets go.
Really appreciate that.
Trying to get back to a two-vid-a-week schedule soon.
17:50 How did y'all get through that whole convo in gliding without calling it "falling with style", lol?
That's a very good question. Brandon? What do you have to say for yourself?

Kent only spent 4 points on his beastborn.
Good catch.
I forgot to mention that I needed to spend a point on a climb speed before taking spider climb.
Another great video!
You are. 😝
As someone who made my first test character a wolf beast born monk…I fell kind of targeted 😢
#SadTire
We tried not to out you by name.
Nice!!! Did you get to use it in a game? What traits did you end up going with?
🙂👍🏻
Thanks, PHJ
What do you guys think of the dual ancestry system (1 race per parent)
