i'm brazilliam, and i dont understand anything. But you guys have so much presence and video production that it made me turn on the subtitles, so thank's, keep following this path!!
That's great to hear, Gary. Appreciate it. The improv vid hasn't performed so well thus far. We have another one in that series dropping on Tuesday. We would welcome any feedback and criticism on the improv vids as to where they could be better.
@@Bardicaggravation I feel like some of our videos underperformed, but I am still glad I made them because they were the content that I wanted to make. For example, our longer short rest videos dont do as well as our shorter refocus videos. But I will keep making those short rest videos because they are important to me. I guess my opinion is that you should make the content that you want to make, while still looking at metrics, but make sure you still do what makes you happy.
First time watching you guys and I love the chemistry! You all had my attention from start to finish. Completely sold me on DC20, buying a core book now. Liked and Subbed
8:05 your spells do half damage if you miss, only if that spell had mana in it, if you cast a spell with zero mana (such as a cantrip) then it will do zero damage if you miss.
I just found your Channel. Keep doing this! it might take 3 to 4 years to get big but I think with the Personalities you 3 have together it makes for a GREAT and funny channel! I am sharing with the guys, btw I am 60 and have been gaming since I was a teenager, the upcoming game sounds like what I have always wanted in the ease of the game but most importantly the "Movie" that a good gamer can create in his mind when He or She plays! Keep it up you guys will be big! like a snowball rolling down hill - it may take a little time to get going but when it starts rolling - look out you get BIG!
Thanks for the great reply. Very encouraging. We need to always keep those things in mind for when the going gets tough. We're gonna keep going with the DC20 stuff to give you an even better idea of the differences. Let us know if you have any specific requests or critiques.
Cool vid, 2 notes tho. You missed wizards most powerful feature in DC20, their spellbook. Since there are no “prepared spells” in DC20, adding spells to your spellbook through scrolls or other wizard’s books increases your spells known! A wizard could have every arcane spell in the game at their fingertips at all times, IF they collected all the spells of course. Bards don’t use the arcane list, they have spells based off of schools. (Like enchantment, restoration, illusion, and 1 other) Warlocks are similar, except you get to pick which 4 spell schools you want. Super customizable. Sorcerers pick if they want to use arcane, primal, or divine spell list at level 1. LOTS of possible shenanigans.
Okay, this is great info. Keep it coming. We'll address everything you just said in our Sorcerer or Warlock video (whichever drops first) and even give you credit on camera for the corrections. Thanks again.
I love your comment on how everyone pretends to be excited about the new DND, it's just perfect! WOTC wanted everyone to be pleased, and no one to feel excluded. Thanks to that, the 2024 DND version (5.5, 6e, whatever) is just bland and boring. There are no significant updates, revisions and no (much needed) system changes. The classes are stronger (except maybe paladin) and hardly backwards compatible. I'm not excited at all. On the other hand, DC20, it's just amazing! It feels new, fresh, appealing, but also intuitive and familiar. I wish The Dungeon Coach all the best and I'm waiting impatiently for my kickstarter books! Cheers!
Couldn't agree more. I'm curious to know how many players/DMs are actually planning on switching their games to the 2024 rules. I don't see/hear a lot of enthusiasm for it thus far.
what do you guys think if spell point can be recovered during combat, im thinking of a gather mana action and it would be a roll to see how many mana points you get.
I have played my own fair share of MMO-RPG fantasy adventuring games and with a few of these you start with 0 mana but with each strike that you land you generate mana that can be used to cast spells/skills/weapon abilities/combo's and not doing anything has the mana bar quickly depleting again. It was however therefore a common sight to see people swinging their sword a bunch so they could participate in a fight. This is something that would be great for like a gish mixing swordplay for mana (with the swordstrike not only doing the same sword stuff normies use them for, but also generating mana for the spell that you follow up with) with spells. If we don't want to restrict it to much (having to swing only the sword for 3 rounds and then just when you're about to have enough to do a spell the fight is over, that wouldn't be fun) were you only only generate a small fixed amount of mana per swing (of course with progression this could scale). We could make it scale with damage or half and half. (This would definitely be a class that would gravitate towards smites, So maybe a limitation that if you are generating mana with your strikes you can't smite on those strikes and on strikes where you smite your strikes don't generate mana) If DC20 has the haste spell, ... I think this class would really gravitate towards that spell. @Bardicaggravation What do you think would that be a class you would like to play with?
@@jugglejunk Yes, I like that. The DC20 Spellblade class (A Gish) has something along those lines, but in reverse. Some of their features use Stamina Points and you can regain them by succeeding with a spell strike. You can also make a martial attack when you cast a spell (limited use of this). I wonder if there may be a subclass of the Spellblade that can work in the way you're proposing... The Dungeon Coach has made mana points one of the only resources that doesn't replenish except after a long rest. I'm sure his reason is mathematically balanced. Are you on the DC20 discord? If so, you should propose your idea in there. I'd be curious to see what they think of it.
I'm autistic, had to stop two minutes in because of that transition between the cuts. Still leaving you guys a like, but your editing style isn't for me.
@@Bardicaggravation it's not the transition by itself that bothers me, but how often it's used - I guess I'm just too accustomed to regular jump-cuts/skip-cuts and this one in particular gets too distracting after a short while
@@AresFordwin Ah, I see. Thanks for the info. If that bothers more people, we'll certainly change it. I was trained as an old school editor, so jump cuts are a big no-no for me.

5:01 - You can do it mechanically, just not as innately cinematically as DC20. Just "Ready and Action" with have someone forfeit their reaction.
But you can't really upcast a spell together, right?
