As a night elf, you can pre-hot as much as you want before tank pulls, just go shadowmeld and drink if you like straight after hotting, no aggro, no problems! And it only has 10 sec CD so can use it all the time.

Affliction is the go to leveling spec for speed I believe, demo is more defensive
