Great video, so this works without an HDMI capture device. Meaning, with an FX30 and this phone, with an HDMI to USB C cable will work? Cheers.

It can technically work with a USB to USB connection, but the HDMI / USB-C dongle is necessary to have an HDMI connection

If you were to pick for external monitor to record small travels and family time, would you go for the Atomos Ninja Ultra + Atomos Connect or the Sony Xperia 1 V?
    Cheers!

Doesn't the ZV1 support video over USB-C? Why not connect the phone straight to the camera via usb-c?

Thank you so much for this review!! I’m thinking of switching my cell soon not sure which one to go with as I’ll be using it mainly for recording my videos!! Something to think about since I don’t have an external monitor for my zv-e1!! ❤

100% getting the X1v. Been a Sony phone user since 2005 and it introduced me to photography.

Can you do screen record while the app is running in background?
I mean… to have the camera connected to the phone via a long usb-c cable, and the phone in the pocket. I don’t really like having it on top of the camera while shooting

Can I use Xperia 1 V as a monitor for DJi RC2 control? It has HDMI out USB-C.

    Why doesn't Sony Xperia 1 have a built-in recorder? It's a model J9110

It should work. I heard that even on some non Sony cameras works. Just some cameras you can connect via one USB cable and some via capture card and HDMI.

Can you recommend Xperia 1 V vs iphone 15 Pro Max?
But the quality of the camera is a little bit blown out i tried the selfie camera in a well lit environment

Hi very useful video. Thank you. I have one question: can you use the smartphone for touch focusing like you would do with sony alpha monitor?

Don't you wish the A9III or the upcoming A7V would have the 2-layer transistor pixel sensor just like this phone?

Hey Sidney, thanks for your Videos about the Xperia 1 V. I watched them all. May u can help me finding a decision. I´m not sure about getting the Xperia 5 V or the 1 V. What do you think about the quality of the tele-lens? Is it worth the extra money? Can u get good fotos and videos from that third lens? Thank you & best regards from Austria :)

    • @SidneyDiongzon
      @SidneyDiongzon  Год назад +1

The Xperia 5 V is pretty good! Honestly, the telephoto lens is not good. I only use the 24mm lens on the Xperia 1V.

@@SidneyDiongzon Thanks, I only see the links for the SmallRig one, but not the other one that sort of just clamps the phone on the edge and is not "hugging" the whole thing. Thanks. If not, it's ok.

The only mobile device which doesnt produce strange noisy artifacts in video is sony. And i dont mean it has best footage always, when iphone recognize scenes correctly it will look better. But sony is more consistent and reliable when you learn how to use it.
