Crazy! that old Berlingo is from a mall in my little city , Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. So glad to see it in such a good shape. Im also a Berlingo owner and I love them all!
I'm seriously thinking you have really caught the Berlingo Bug now. This is going to become the number one in the fleet. I can feel the luuurve for it.🥰 Many adventures await us all to enjoy I think.
0:16 Actually the blue Citroën Berlingo is the original Mk1 (Phase 1), the turqoise green Berlingo is a Mk1 (Phase 2) and next to the Skoda is the 2008 spec Mk2 Berlingo along with a couple of the neighbouring Peugeot Partners in the car meet.
I must say watching Hubnut is an odd experience, to be honest there aren't many cars that you feature that I would personally own but the enthusiasm shown by you and the owners brings me back to every video. Keep up the good work dude and I will keep watching and appreciate the odd or unexceptional cars of the world.
I watch in hope that some of the cars will end up crushed 🙂 Not the lovely people of course. I did regard the sale of the Oltcit and Foxanne as wins. Hopefully Twc next. To be fair I do also like some of the cars.....
@@UnknownUser-rb9pd I love the little Invicar and the Reliant was not a bad little van. The weird Citroen's from bulgaria were definitely a mistake but that's hubnut.
@@Snarfcat The Invacar has no redeeming features whatsoever IMHO. I have a theory that they were designed so dangerous in order to cull the number of invalids and therefore reduce the social care bill. And the Daewoo Matiz is like a more modern, four wheeled version. I do like the GSA, the Berlingo, 2CV and Betty though and the Charade should be decent if they ever get it driving again
Great video. The Gold Berlingo (BW02 NOF) was my ‘Gold Goddess’. I owned her from new until a few months ago. The purchase of a campervan meant I had to reluctantly let her go. It was the best car I have ever owned and is sadly missed. It took me and my family everywhere and is part of our memories. Thankfully the new owner is a lovely lady who has converted it to a micro camper so it will still be loved.
Hi Ian hope you don't mind just a small correction for you my blue one next to the Triangle of doom demo is a 1.6 Petrol version. Lovely to meet you all what a brilliant gathering and a friendly bunch of people are fellow Berlingo owners.
Cool little conversions going on there. Was behind a little white mg3 in Edinburgh this afternoon with a hubnut sticker in rear window. A fellow watcher of the channel 😊
What a great Meeting! - Fun Fact: some month ago I happened to meet an Acadiane exactly like that (minus the stickers) on my way home from work. You don't really see them anymore here in Sweden, so that was a very nice surprise and I was so excited by the encounter I had to check out eBay to see if there was any nice 1:43-models of it, which there were - which is why I now have one in my ever growing collection 😁 - Love all the classic Citroën vans!
Absolutely brilliant video Ian 👍 Absolutely beautiful cars omg I love the older one that was upgraded you were talking about 1930s one Absolutely brilliant
Belingos, Partners and Doblos are everywhere over here in this part of Spain. I ended up buying a Doblo as a stop gap, but it is such a versatile thing. Fold the rear seats down and loads of space to carry furniture, full builders vans, etc. With the rear seats in position, passengers have masses of headroom and leg room, and still loads of space in the load area. My thought of buying a BMW 530 is but a distant memory
Hi Ian I had a Peugeot partner on the motability scheme I about 20 years ago. It was a 2 litrt diesel it went well it was a surprise how well it wanted. Thanks for all your videos 🙂.
I must voice other sentiment that it was your Rover 75 that bought me too all things Hubnut, but it has been yours and Miss Hubnuts enthusiasm and the camping that has kept me coming back for more. I will eventually obtain a Rover 75 in Copper Leaf red....but the way prices are going it will probably be a Corgi model.....
I drove my first Berlingo, a 1.9 naturally aspirated ‘wheezel’, back in 1996 and liked them from day one. The evolution into a mini people carrier was a master stroke and made for a very versatile vehicle.
Great location and awesome display of Berlingos and Partners. The genius of the design is shown off by all of the interior mods that can be done to enhance your journey or make the Vehicle into a base for a stopover. To convert Steve Cropley proves how good it was and still is.
It’s so good to see how fondly the Berlingo is regarded. The design has totally made it to bonafide classic status, unlike the C15. The styling is unpretentious and the space inside is enormous for the wheelbase. I have a Berlingo 1.4 dualfuel petrol/lpg- although I never bother with the gas these days. The front passenger seat does some clever things; folds flat to make a table, tumbles forward and has a storage compartment underneath. The rear wheelarches are so small you hardly lose any space to them. I’m going to turn it into a microcamper when I have some more time.
Very many thanks for posting this. I am an ardent Berlingo Multispace fan, having owned a M49 Forte for 15 years until recently. Now own a B9 XTR (called Barney!). I love 'em! Will be ordering a T shirt this evening. Cheers. Vivian
The best! Thank you for a very interesting video. I'd have loved to see an old Berlingo commercial van here too, but I guess being workhorses, they are probably not so loved. Four years of driving a bog standard 2006 diesel white van vast distances for a utility company in rural Scotland gave me some respect for the model.
Fun event reporting, thank you! Great to see the celebration of the practical, daily driver. Creative uses and personalizations of the car too. Interesting and a cool location 👍
Thanks for posting this :) I was there in S33 DEX (silver one parked at the front). Was great day out and happy so many made it, given the downpour that morning! Look forward to more meetings next year.
I love that DS! My dream is to get a DS Pallas totally restored and converted to an EV. I remember as a kid in 65/66 getting a lift home in a Safari (7 seat estate version) from school as a kid when I lived in Malawi. The roads there were pretty dire, and that car just floated over the various crevices in the road!
I have never seen a Berlingo in person. We did not get them in the USA. However I did see its cousin the Peugeot Partner sitting in the customer parking lot of pick it/pull it junk yard outside Washington DC. It was from Mexico City so it and its owner had a long drive to get up there. I am not sure what the owner was doing there as you were not going to find any French vehicles in that junk yard. Though I did see a LeCar years ago in there.
I've got a 1998 Peugeot Partner van sitting on my driveway waiting for me to get it on the road again. I bought it new and did 334000 in it, on the original clutch I might add. I do like a Berlingo, but I love a C3 Pluriel! Perhaps my nostalgia for being aged 10 when they launched, and seeing one demonstrated by the local Citroën dealer at a car show, explains my fascination with them. Perhaps not such a great ownership proposition as a Berlingo, but I've heard several first-hand accounts from happy Pluriel owners who wouldn't drive anything else.

There is a company that produces a foldaway mattress with bedding that folds into its own carry case. It's quite popular with Tesla owners who like to use camping mode, but they produce mattresses for other manufacturers including Citroën. Not specifically the Berlingo but if you looked in the dimensions you would probably find something suitable.
Mark 1 best car I have ever had. Ex Postie Van, so red, and bits did fall off, because French. Just get multi glue and gaffer tape (both friends of the Berlingo) and motor on.
Can you fold down or remove the rear seats? Always fancied doing a Berlingo van camper conversion, but if the rear seats can go down it can also be the family car!
Yes. On earlier ones like mine, the seats tumble. I think they're more easily removable on the next generation. Some camper conversions just fold out over the folded seats I think.
@@HubNut thanks for that! While I prefer the Mk.1, the Mk.2 is the same in most respects. Thanks for another great video. Good to see Colin's Pluriel there too. Known Colin for years 🙂
Seriously brilliant meet, very colourful and I have to admit my appreciation of Berlingos has increased even more as a result of your ownership. I sort of understand people's distaste for the C3 Pluriel, but it's been unfairly treated thanks to silly comparisons and stupid marketing (just like my own C5 X7, constantly derided for being Citroen's attempt at "being German"), instead of being judged on its own merits. The removable roof rails are for climates in Southern Europe, where it hardly rains in the summer and they can work in a way similar to a mini moke. But you're an intelligent chap who is open to giving things a second chance. 👍
Yes, I never got the flagging the C5 X7 got. We've had one for 10 years now and I genuinely can't find anything remotely similar to replace it, that has as many strengths as it has.

Steve cropley did a column for wheels Australia from the UK in the 80s
Indeed he did, before we stole him. 😉
I know you are aware of the AU Falcon on the Motoring Box channel, recently I noticed two more You tube channels that have acquired an AU, on the 6th October a channel called Psivewri did a video and the other channel called Jimmy Dale on the 20th October took his to a skid pan that produced some good content
when I pass my driving test later this year I want the 2009-2015 era berlingo multispace in auto so I can use it as a gardening business van
good to see the kids having their say/ good vid / iv had 5 berlingo vans over 13yrs , all old "haters" im afraid
Multifunctional cars always have a loyal group of owners, this club lasts for a long time.
A thoroughly decent vehicle and a modern People's Car.
Might be interesting to do a video sometime on Citroen car derived vans.
That sportcar reminds me of a Matra Djet. Which is not bad at all.
Best car ever .
My brother's got the Partner van he had a berlingo said it's handy little van.
Mark 1 best car I have ever had. Ex Postie Van, so red, and bits did fall off, because French. Just get multi glue and gaffer tape (both friends of the Berlingo) and motor on.
Check out the Amdro Boot Jump in Caernarfon. I’ve got one for the last 5 years and it’s been very good.
AY UP MR HUBNUT.......EYES DOWN HEADS IN FOR A GAME OF BERLINGO
Those berlingo windscreens were quite funky to fit .
A bit of a game reaching the middle, I bet...
@@HubNut and throwing in because of the curves on both sides .
Indicator lens falls off; irritating. You've opened my eyes to the Berlingo however, I'd rather like one.
Would have liked to attend myself but my partner 20 hdi is currently on the naughty step with a snapped spring!
These will be as iconic as 2cv
Can you fold down or remove the rear seats? Always fancied doing a Berlingo van camper conversion, but if the rear seats can go down it can also be the family car!
Yes. On earlier ones like mine, the seats tumble. I think they're more easily removable on the next generation. Some camper conversions just fold out over the folded seats I think.
@@HubNut thanks for that! While I prefer the Mk.1, the Mk.2 is the same in most respects. Thanks for another great video. Good to see Colin's Pluriel there too. Known Colin for years 🙂
I love the berlingo!!
Nice vid of a very practical motor. You didn’t call Bella “Betty” at the end did you? 😉
Oops...
Bella made several friends
Shame they cant breed and buy a brand new one as i would
Seriously brilliant meet, very colourful and I have to admit my appreciation of Berlingos has increased even more as a result of your ownership.

When and whereis the next berlingo meet please I'd like to attend ❤❤❤
