    • @stefib
      @stefib 3 года назад +1

      @@shafaqnazsohu4108 I would say no, you can use anything you may have on hand like fish sauce, or even tamarind paste or tomato paste. It will change the taste a little bit. But I'm sure still tasty.

    I love her humour, the fact that almost no one ever mention it shows that it is highly underated. She's funny y'all. She's not only home cooking genius, she's also funny, especially when she felt guilty in making fusion food.

    If you grew up with plain spaghetti plopped in a bowl and sauce poured on top, do yourself a favour and copy Marion’s methods. Finishing the pasta in the sauce with some of the pasta water makes much more of a difference than you would think.

  • @InnuendoXP
    @InnuendoXP 3 года назад +14

    I don't see an Italian having any issue with this. While the ingredients are fusion for sure, the methods used should mostly be 100% familiar to Italians. And even some of those fusion ingredients have Italian equivalents eg. Colatura di Alici for fish sauce, pork for pork, Thai basil for, well, mature Genovese basil (if you let it get a bit more mature, the aniseed flavour gets stronger), and Calabrian chillies could probably be used too.

    • @luisa146
      @luisa146 3 года назад +5

      Excatly, and in fact, as an Italian I have no issue with this, and I actually love all of Marion's fusion pasta dishes! You can see she puts a lot of care and respect for tradition in her recipes. She combines italian and asian techniques and ingredients in a perfectly balanced and armonious way.

    • @InnuendoXP
      @InnuendoXP 3 года назад +2

      @@luisa146 It also helps that she doesn't take an existing recipe then put some "twist" on it nobody asked for - which would be disrespectful - but instead simply goes "here's my recipe, this is something I like, made up of ingredients & techniques that get me results I enjoy, and I recommend you try it".

    Not sure why so many people get up in arms about mixing western and eastern food. In particular a lot of people call out using western egg pasta in Asian noodle dishes, but theres egg noodles in Chinese cooking and often it works well. I almost always prefer egg noodles as a Chinese guy.

    Love these recipes. I too make 'fusion' pasta. I love my garlic, EVOEO, soy sauce, toasted sesame oil pasta! Sometimes I add peas or light colored beans (Cannelini or Great Northern) sauted in EVOEO, garlic, onion, soy sauce & toasted sesame oil for fusion Peas & Pasta or fusion Pasta Fagioli! I would love to see your version of those two favorite semi-vegan dishes. I use parmasean cheese 🧀 so it's not 100% vegan. Though I do use the canned cheap stuff so it may not actually have milk in it. 😂 😂

    As an italian chef I (almost) approve the third one (as it's almost a normal one). Just take out the eyes of the prawns and mix/blend the shrimps'carcasses together with the tomatoes for extra flavor (and use red prawns, and wine). As for the other pastas I won't say anything. It will be God to punish you when the day comes. Remember folks, less is more! (pleasestoprapingpastas)
