Install at your own risk. I am not a mechanic and take no responsibility for any mistakes that are made during your installation attempts. This video simply describes how I completed the install on my 2015 Q50. It worked perfectly for me, but I cannot guarantee your results.

Just want to repeat a comment that I saw here. The 2018+ all come with a plug already. You can find it around the middle of the front bumper. You dont have to remove the bumper to access it. Just kinda feel for a wire up under the front of the hood. Youll feel the plug. Pull on it a little and the tape will come loose. Just peel the tape and plastic back then splice into it. Made the install super easy.

If any of the Q50 fam has a 2018+ there should be a plug off the wiring harness attached to the inside of your grille (It’s there for the factory LED emblem from Infiniti). Match your wires from your aftermarket emblem to the plug (gray is power and black is ground). You’ll save yourself the hassle of running wires and splicing to the headlight wire.

I have a 18 luxe and installed the emblem, but I can't find that plug you're talking about. I also don't have the factory led emblem, just the regular chrome one.
Is the plug on the driver side grill or passenger side? I cannot find it.
It’s most likely taped to the group of wires at the top/middle of the grille

I have the rgb emblem coming in the mail soon and this install helped out a lot for prepping for my install because after watching the rgb emblem install that you recently made I still had a ton of questions but referring back to this one which was much more thorough I’m pretty prepared. Thanks. Just got doing this. Couldn't have done it without you. Getting that pink wire spliced was a pain in the ass since I couldn't figure out how to get the headlight harness off. Also, it took me about a half hour to get the airbox back in. But I got it done. Thanks for the help.
How did you get the harness off? I’m having a hard time unplugging it from the headlamp. Hard to see and feel. Not trying to break it. Fingers are sore 😆

For those with a red sport, mine is a 2017 and there's a screw on the back of the emblem. I did mine while doing my HE so the bumper was already off.

This wouldn't be something that'd come factory direct installed would it? Finally just got my Q50 '18 luxe, with multiple Sport packages and saw the car already has this installed. Just seems odd someone would specifically seek this out, yet not customize anything else...
It's sharp looking, but I'm going to either buy an opaquer pen, or see if my local tint guy has one on hand to subdue the light output at night...it's just a bit much for me.
As I have the iridium blue color...what are you thoughts on doing this either standard black or possibly a deep blue to compliment the rest of the car? Your thoughts are appreciated.

Hey thanks for watching! Eye loss were from eBay I believe. And yes they come with 3m tape on them. I have since removed them and just used vinyl wrap and cut them to the shape I wanted

Sometimes it has trouble connecting. Just uninstall the app and reinstall

Mr. speed I have a question I purchased the OEN led emblem with the plug it comes with dealer assist download instructions pan flit CRAZY complicated process. I also have the DIode always on module. What advise can you provide I ask you because you be all in and outside of your Q in advance I appreciate your assistance

I installed everything and it worked fine, I was changing the color and it just turned off and hasn’t turned back on since, I tried deleting the app and downloading it multiple times, I know it’s not a wiring issue. Anyone can help?

I spliced my wire to the headlight and tried to test the ground wire for power to the emblem but got nothing, any suggestions?

Which size washer did you use for the ground cable ,on the intake box screw?
I’m not sure. Whatever I had in my random hardware bin. Honestly doesn’t really matter-whatever fits.
Do you think you would’ve been able to add a prong onto the emblem wires to just plug into the harness ?
Probably. I would have preferred that.
Could have just reached hand behind grill from engine bay remove one screw and clips push emblem out... clip in new emblem run black to ground can wrap wire around the intake bolt screw that holds intake in place... run red down to passenger side fog light reach through fender liner to grab it than in-line splice or just splice to fog light connector connect back to fog done
I would not wrap the wire around a bolt. I like having proper connectors. Taking the intake box off is just as easy as pulling the fender liner and necessary to make proper ground connection. I’d recommend the way I described

Nice. Who makes this emblem and how much? Also where did you get the lower piece for your front bumper?
The emblem is from Jaliscos carbonfiber. They have a website or you can find them on Instagram. The front splitter is from amazon. Every part I have has been documented and is typically linked in the description of the video
Got that emblem in today. But I'm having an issues if you might be able to help me out. I have installed it and tapped into the R/H headlight wireing harness. I used a quick splice clamp to splice into the main head light. (Pinkish) wire. Everything looks good but now my halo and eyebrow LEDs are coming on? The main and the emblem work. I only tapped that one wire. Any ideas
I’ve installed this and my battery kept dying every couple of days on me. So I bought a “gel” battery and two days later it was dead again in the morning. I don’t know what to do. All I have is underglow lights and the emblem. What should I do??? I’m too the point that I’m about to just rip it all off the car. No point in making it look good when I have to ask people to jump me off
You have to figure out where the draw is coming from. There is something pulling power even when your ignition is off.

Old video so don't know if you'll respond, but that air intake cowl is it flush to the filter piece? Mine is the OEM cowl and there is some space between the insert pieces of the cowl and where my filters are located. I assume it is meant to be flush so no air escapes or is sucked inside.
Correct--it should fit snug into the air box.

Good video with clear instructions. But (maybe I missed it) you should really disconnect your battery before doing this. Even thought it’s not high voltage. For your safety and everyone watching - you shouldn’t do live electrical work if you don’t absolutely have to
No need to disconnect the battery but if it makes you feel better, of course go for it.

Hey boss I recently put it on my car and it won’t turn on at all or connect to the app did you have any issues with that at all and if so how did you fix it?
Either the light is bad or you don’t have a good connection to power
@@SpeedCultureStudios yea because I put it on the nuts connected to the battery and it wouldn’t turn on I wired it to my fog lights and it didn’t turn on at all and it was grounded correctly to
@@Landonsprasky so must be defective if you tested it directly to power. Dumb question but have to ask-did you make sure you put the correct wire to + and - ?
@@SpeedCultureStudios yea I did and I used my buddy tool to see if the wires on the led emblem were getting power to them from my battery terminals and they were def a defective led emblem getting a new replacement one soon but I think the led emblem wires werednt connected onto the logo correctly therefore it was faulty
Have you faced any complications after installing the illuminated emblem, with removing the bumper? Like do you have to unwire everything now to remove the bumper completely?
It’s only 2 wires to disconnect. Not a big issue. Don’t take the bumper off all that often

No I have not. I cannot think of a reason that would happen.
You mention something like a needle at the tip of the wire that you would have preferred to use. What is the correct name for said tip/needle, and where can one obtain it?
They are probably just called pin connectors.
I installed one on my Q50, now it changes colors by itself once its set and driving. how can I keep the same frequency??? any ideas.
You have to select the single color
Has anyone put it on a G35? I know you said it's the same as a G37 but I do realize there is minor differences with the two.

@@SpeedCultureStudios so i ended up taking out. It’s Just there to hold it in place. No actual bulb. I think the 2018 model might have a different harness cuz I’m not seeing the same things.

That is just the factory shroud. I just put a Hotchkis sticker on it since they were supportive in sharing my content after my sway bar installation.
Can you just wire it to the battery or would it be to much for the emblem?

Which emblem is better one with no carbon fiber or one with carbon fiber??
It’s all preference man. I think if I got it again I’d get the one with the carbon background for a little contrast
Hey speed I installed my carbon fiber led emblem from Jalisco’s CF the install went good, emblem was working for a week and a half until out of no where it just wouldn’t turn on anymore. I followed the steps from this video, I installed and reinstalled numerous times I re grounded with a new wire connector and still nothing. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

The app can be the issue, but it’s possible the emblem itself is not good

I mean what are the chances I get two faulty emblems lol ! I’m thinking I’m not splicing the pink and red wires correct but it’s not that hard to do I’m just following the steps on here. The app is terrible unfortunately. Try uninstalling then reinstalling. Just have to do that until it works

I recommended the dry ones for a reason. They are the best option

Hey I’m not too familiar with electrical stuff, but would a separate fuse be necessary between that pink headlight wire and the LED emblem wire or is there no need for a fuse?

I don’t have the always on module but I do have the automatic headlights all the time... is there any way to have the emblem turn on with the same wiring because honestly I don’t even touch the light switches since I always have it on automatic mode... so would there be anyway to have it turn on at the same time the headlights turn on whenever it gets darker for the sensors to think it’s night?
I showed that in the video. It should be the pinkish gray wire.

Not sure it’s related. It’s a very basic install so if you tapped the correct wire, you shouldn’t have an issue.
Is there one that has power when parking lights/headlights on, so it comes on when just the parking lights are on as well?
DOnt have my voltmeter handy :-|
I'm not sure which wire that is honestly. I didn't test all of them. I didn't think to have it on with just the parking lights because it would likely be daylight and it would be hard to see the led anyway.

Which wire is the DRL for driver’s side headlight? I’m installing the LED emblem i tapped it wit the green wire first but I didn’t have power and now I did. to the pink wire (headlights) and I get the power only when headlights on. I want it on basically wit the DRL and EVERYTIME I lock/unlock the car, which wire should I tap it with?
I’m not sure off the top of my head. You might need to use a test light to check the wires out unless someone can chime in with the correct wire.

There isn't a whole lot to undo--you'd just have to disconnect the 2 wires.

You can tap into whatever power source you want. Just know that it’ll be on whenever that source is getting power and off when it’s not

Make sure connection is good to power source and also make sure the ground wire has good contact and is tight.
@@SpeedCultureStudios I tried to ground using the screw keeping the filter in place but that’s a plastic unit. It seems everything around the area is plastic. Where can i ground?
@@thaingo4764 you can use the bolt holding the filter housing. The bottom is metal and you can use a washer on the top side to ensure a tight fit. I’m pretty sure I showed it in the video
Question, I did the connections just like you showed and the emblem worked. As I'm scrolling threw the app, changing light setting..it stops working. Suggestions?

You must have severed a wire.
That's weird that wouldn't show how they look in the dark when you can't really see in the light

@@SpeedCultureStudios gotcha thank you. Any idea if wiring this emblem incorrectly could lead to damaging the leds or something? I've just got my 3rd installed and it lasted me 2 days before some leds failed and now can't produce one full complete color
@@Daniel-yf1li I don’t see how wiring it incorrectly would damage anything. It’s very low voltage-it just wouldn’t turn on. And it’s only 2 wires so you can even wire it wrong. One is a ground and the other goes to a power source

Everyone I talk to usually wires it to their headlight and I got mine to fuse box. 3 emblems crapped out on me and someone said checking the voltage it's getting before I attempt a fourth one. I'd really like to have a working emblem but I have no idea what keeps causing them to fail on me ☹️
